WHILE DRIVING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS, THE CAR WILL JUST LOSES CONTROL OF THE GAS PEDAL. IT GOES INTO A COAST MODE. YOU HAVE TO COAST TO SAFETY AND TURN OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTART. MY DAUGHTER WAS ALMOST HIT BY AN 18-WHEELER ON THE BYPASS GOING ABOUT 50 MPH. SOMETIMES, IT WILL DO THIS ONE TIME PER DAY, SOMETIMES EVERY FEW MINUTES. I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS CAR 2 MONTHS WHEN THIS PROBLEM BEGAN. I HAVE CONTACTED A DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE PROBLEM, AND IT WILL COST AT A MINIMUM $600.00. I HAVE READ THE COMPLAINTS FILED, AND FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD BE PLACED UNDER A RECALL FOR THESE VEHICLES. MY VEHICLE HAS 56,000 MILES ON IT, AND SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THESE ISSUES. IF YOU WERE ON AN INTERSTATE OR MAJOR HIGHWAY, THERE MIGHT NOT BE A WAY TO EXIT BEFORE CAUSING A MAJOR WRECK. *TR
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V319000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE WRENCH WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE DECELERATED UNTIL IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE WOULD IDLE ROUGHLY AND BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO RESTART. THE PROBLEM RECURRED APPROXIMATE FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.
TRACTION CONTROL APPLYING WHEN PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC .THIS WAS NOT UNDER HARD ACCELERATION. *TR
RECEIVED ERROR CODE P2111, THE CAR WILL BOG DOWN WITHOUT NOTICE AND I CANNOT ACCELERATE. THIS HAPPENS OFTEN AND IT DOES NOT MATTER IF I AM GOING SLOW OR FAST. THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE SHOWS THIS TO BE A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY. I FOUND A WEBSITE WHICH SHOWS "AFFECTED OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT FORD AND MENTION CONSUMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03." I PLAN ON CALLING JOE MYERS FORD IN HOUSTON, TX TOMORROW 3/5/14. *TR
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON A CITY STREET AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. WHEN I ACCELERATED, THE ENGINE STARTED EXTREME SHAKING AND THEN SHUT DOWN. FORTUNATELY, NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME, SO I DID NOT GET HIT. I THEN WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR, BUT EACH TIME I STOPPED AT A LIGHT, THE CAR WOULD STALL OUT AGAIN. I WAS ABLE TO GET TO A NEARBY FORD DEALER. THEY REPAIRED THE CAR FREE OF CHARGE (IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY) AND TOLD ME THAT THE ISSUES WAS THAT THERE WAS A DEFECTIVE COMPUTER CHIP WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO SHUT DOWN. FORD HAS NOT CONTACTED ME TO DISCUSS THE INCIDENT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS THE ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON. I CHECKED THE COMPUTER CODES AND RECEIVED A P2111 CODE WHICH INDICATES A STUCK OPEN THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM. *TR
I WAS PULLING OUT FROM A BUSINESS ON TO A MAJOR HIGHWAY. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS, SUDDENLY THE CAR JUST WOULD NOT GO FORWARD. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE, CROSSWISE OF THE ROAD. I FINALLY GOT THE CAR TO GO FORWARD IN LITTLE INCREMENTS UNTIL I GOT OFF THE ROAD. THE MOTOR WAS STILL RUNNING BUT VERY LITTLE FORWARD MOVEMENT FROM THE CAR. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY THAT HAD GONE BAD. IF THERE HAD BEEN ANY TRAFFIC, I WOULD BE DEAD, BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD. *TR
CAR STALLS WHILE DRIVING. EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT STALLS WHEN APPLYING THE GAS MILDLY. ERROR CODE P2112 THROTTLE BODY ACTUATOR STUCK CLOSED. NO CARBO NO HIT, CLEAN THROTTLE BODY. *TR
VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED 11/29/2013/ WITH 21851 MILES ON IT . I QUESTIONED THE FUNCTIONING OF MY MANUAL TRANSMISSION WITHIN 2 DAYS OF DELIVERY WITH PROBLEMS SUCH AS NOTCHINESS IN GEAR SHIFTER / REVERSE, 1ST, 2ND AND GRINDING INTO 3RD GEARS. VEHICLE SENT TO FORD. I RECEIVED THE VEHICLE BACK ON 12/02/13, 25978 MILES; WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER FORD TSB- TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE DID PRESENT WITH SOME IMPROVEMENT. JANUARY 11 2013, RETURNED THE VEHICLE BACK TO FORD/ PROBLEMS AGAIN WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION. I EXPERIENCED GEARS GRINDING FROM PARK POSITION IN ATTEMPT TO SHIFT GEARS FROM REVERSE TO 1ST TO 2ND, MAJOR GRIND FROM 3RD TO 4TH GEARS. FURTHERMORE; DUE TO AWKWARDNESS OF THE DISPLACEMENT OF THE CLUTCH PEDAL ( I AM 5'3 ) THE VEHICLE WILL ONLY FUNCTION WHEN THE CLUTCH PEDAL IS DISPLACED COMPLETELY DOWN TO THE FLOOR BOARD WHICH MAKES MY SAFETY VULNERABLE CONSIDERING I HAVE TO ELECTRONICALLY ( ELECTRIC SEATS) PLACE MY SEAT FORWARD RESULTING IN BODY POSITIONED TOO CLOSE TO PROXIMITY OF THE STEERING WHEEL WITH MY KNEES LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 1 TO 2 INCHES FROM THE DASH BOARD. UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE SEAT MUST BE POSITIONED BACKWARDS IN ORDER TO EXIT .TRANSMISSION ISSUES WAS ADDRESSED BY FORD/ EXTENSIVE TRANSMISSION WORK WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. AGAIN THE VEHICLE WAS IN FORD'S SHOP FROM 1/11/14 TO 3/10/2014...ALMOST 8 WEEKS!!. JUNE 28, 2014 APPROXIMATELY 32300 MILES ON IT, MY VEHICLE IS ONCE AGAIN BACK TO FORD DUE TO NOTCHINESS OF REVERSE, FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD GEARS/ CLOSE SEATING ISSUES ADDRESSED. *TR
FRONT DRIVERS AIRBAG LIGHT ON. CALLED FORD TO GET IT FIXED AND WAS TOLD BY BOTH DEALERSHIP AND THE WARRANTY DEPARTMENT THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $150 TO HAVE IT TESTED. DEPENDING ON WHAT THE TEST SHOWED I WOULD BE GIVEN THE COST TO REPAIR. HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH FORD TOO. THEY ALL STATED THAT IT PROBABLY WOULD NOT BE COVERED WHICH CAN RUN ME UP TO AN ADDITIONAL $300. I HAVE PAID TO HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANT AS WELL AS PAY THEM TO SERVICE MY CAR. THE PASSENGER SEAT ELECTRONICS HAS ALREADY FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE CLIP ON THE EXHAUST BROKE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. NOW THE DRIVERS SIDE ELECTRONICS IS BREAKING. THE SEAT WILL NOT MOVE. FORD WILL NOT TAKE OWNERSHIP OF POOR QUALITY. NOW BIGGER CONCERNS WITH ALL THE AIRBAG RECALLS AS TO WHY THE 2011 HAVE NOT BEEN RECALLED! *TR
AROUND 17000 MILES THE VEHICLE CLUTCH PEDAL TOOK A FEW SECONDS TO DISENGAGE WHEN SHIFTING FROM 2ND TO 3RD ON HIGHER RPMS. ALSO, WHEN SHIFTING INTO 2ND AND 3RD AT 3-4K RPMS, I WOULD FEEL A NOTCHING FEEL ON THE SHIFTER FROM THE TRANSMISSION LIKE IF IT FEELING A FEW TEETH FROM THE TRANSMISSION'S GEARS OR SYNCROS. I AM STILL NOT SURE, DEALERSHIPS STILL HAVEN'T OPENED THE TRANSMISSION TO FIND OUT. CAR JUST HIT 36000 MILES, FOUND OUT THEIR WAS A RECALL OR WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR THE PEDAL ISSUE, IF CAR UNDER 36000 MILES. WAS NEVER INFORMED FROM PRECIOUS VISITS. DRIVER SEAT ALSO STOP WORKING COMPLETE, DOESN'T MOVE ANYWAY. *TR
DOCUMENTATION ON THIS VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY POSTED ON 12/5/13. AS NOTED; ONGOING TO TRANSMISSION/ CLUTCH PROBLEMS POST TSB REPAIRS CONTINUE. MY VEHICLE REQUIRES THE CLUTCH PEDAL TO BE ENGAGED COMPLETELY DOWN TO THE FLOORBOARD DURING THE INITIAL KEY START PROCESS, THEREAFTER; THE CLUTCH PEDAL MUST BE ENGAGED AT A MINIMUM TO FLOORBOARD TO THE MAXIMUM OF APPROXIMATELY 1 -2 INCHES OFF FLOORBOARD. DUE TO MY HEIGHT ( 5'3"), I AM NOT COMFORTABLE SEATED SO CLOSE TO THE STEERING WHEEL. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT POSSIBLE BODILY HARM OR INJURY DUE TO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT BEYOND POTENTIALLY COMMON INJURIES DUE TO AIR BAG BURNS. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO EXPLORE THE OPTION OF CLUTCH PEDAL ADJUSTMENT, TO NO AVAIL . I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT THE CLUTCH IS HYDRAULIC, THEREFORE CLUTCH PEDAL HEIGHT CANNOT BE ADJUSTED TO ACCOMMODATE. I PERSONALLY HAVE OWNED SEVERAL MANUAL TRANSMISSION DRIVEN VEHICLES WHICH INCLUDE PAST OWNERSHIP OF A FORD MUSTANG GT CONVERTIBLE WITHOUT THESE ISSUES OR PROBLEMS. *TR
VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT ( FEELS NOTCHY ) TO SHIFT GEARS BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND GEARS. AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS NOT A FACTOR. THE PROBLEM IS CONSTANT REGARDLESS TO OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES. OCCASIONALLY GEARS GRIND WHEN SHIFTING AT HIGHER RPMS. VEHICLE DOES NOT SEEM TO GRAB INTO GEAR COMPLETELY ONE GEARS ARE SHIFTED FROM FIRST THROUGH THIRD GEARS. IN ADDITION TOO: VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO STEER/ VEHICLE SEEMS TO DRIFT TO THE LEFT SIDE OF ROADWAY. *TR
WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM STORE MOTOR SUDDENLY WENT INTO LIMP-HOME MODE. LOST POWER TO ENGINE AND MOST STEERING. BARELY ABLE TO GET CAR OFF OF THE ROAD. *TR
THE CAR LOST POWER AND A WRENCH ICON SHOWED UP ON DASHBOARD. I WAS DRIVING AND MANAGE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND WHEN I TRIED TO RESTART IT THE START SWITCH GOT STUCK AND IT WOULDN'T START. I HAD TO TRY TWICE BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR TO MAKE IT HOME. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPENS. I HAD BROUGHT IN THE CAR FOR SERVICE, BACK AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR, MORE THAN FOUR TIMES TO THE DEALER WHERE I GOT IT FROM ROUNTREEMOORE IN LAKE CITY, FL. THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT.IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
THE FORD VEHICLE SHOWED THE FOLLOWING SIGNS AT THE TIME OF SHIFTING INTO HIGHER GEARS, TRANSMISSION FAILING TO SYNCHRONIZE, SLOW REACTION, HARSH SHIFTS, GRINDING GEAR NOISES AT LOW AND HIGH RPM. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY AT THE SPEED LIMIT (75 MPH IN THIS AREA OF TEXAS) AND HAD JUST CHANGED LANES WHEN THE CAR WOULD NOT GO, I KEPT PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT GO. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF THE HIGHWAY AND WAS ABLE TO GO UP AN OFF RAMP AND PULL OFF THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THE MUSTANG STARTED TO MAKE A NOISE AND SHUTTERED, SO I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE BEING AFRAID THAT THE ENGINE WOULD BE DAMAGED. I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR AGAIN AND WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT AND CALL FOR HELP. THE ENGINE STARTED TO SHUTTER AGAIN AND THE ACCELERATOR WOULD NOT WORK. ALSO, LUCKILY A FORD DEALERSHIP WAS WITH A MILE SO I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO IT AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A STUCK THROTTLE BODY AND CHARGED A DEDUCTABLE FOR A DEFECTIVE PART THAT FORD SHOULD HAVE HAD A RECALL ON A LONG TIME AGO. I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND WHILE ON THE BUSY HIGHWAY AND INJURED OR KILLED. ALSO MY TRANSMISSION FILLS VERY "JERKY" AT TIMES WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR AFTER STOPPING AND STARTING AGAIN FROM A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. I AM VERY GLAD THAT MY MUSTANG IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.
DRIVING OVER SPEED BUMPS IN MY APARTMENT COMPLEX AND THE WRENCH LIGHTS COMES ON AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL HOWEVER, THE CAR WAS STILL RUNNING IDLE BUT NOT THROTTLE WHAT SO EVER. IT IS A REOCCURRING PROBLEM AND I FEAR FOR ME AND MY CHILD'S SAFETY SO FRIGHTENED THIS WILL HAPPEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE SOMEWHERE AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR HARM TO MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED BY FORD AT NO COST TO CONSUMERS, WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD COST ME 850.00 TO GET IT FIXED BECAUSE MY CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. CLEARLY THIS IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED
GETTING ON TURNPIKE I WENT THROUGH THE GEAR WHEN I WENT INTO IT GRIND REAL BAD. ALSO DOWN SHIFTING IT WOULD GRIND.IT WAS OKAY IN ALL THE OTHER GEARS. ALSO WHEN FIRST DRIVEN IT WAS HARD TO SHIFT UNTIL TRANS WARMS UP. *JS
THE CAR BEGAN SPUTTERING AND THEN THE ENGINE DIED AFTER PULLING OFF OF THE INTERSTATE. THE WRENCH LIGHT FLASHED AND THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. THE CAR WAS ANALYZED AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND DIAGNOSED WITH THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY ACTUATOR AS THE PROBLEM. THERE CURRENTLY IS NO RECALL. THE LABOR AND PART WERE $430.16 I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED BY FORD FOR THIS SINCE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I WAS FORTUNATE THERE WERE NO CARS BEHIND ME. THE TECHNICIAN INDICATED THERE WAS A LIFE SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WHEN MY THROTTLE LIGHT WENT ON (WRENCH) , MY CAR LOST POWER AND BEGAN TO IDLE. EXTREMELY FRIGHTENING, I HAD CARS COMING AT HIGH SPEEDS ALMOST GETTING REAR ENDED. MY CAR ACCELERATOR GAVE OUT COMPLETELY GOING INTO "SAFE MODE". I FOUND MYSELF HAVING TO GO THROUGH CONSTRUCTION CONES IN ORDER TO PULL OVER SOMEWHERE SEMI SAFE. I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND TURNED IT ON AGAIN. THIS TIME THE ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF AS WELL AS THE THROTTLE LIGHT. AGAIN MY CAR WAS UNDRIVEABLE. AS I GOT HOME THE CAR WAS SCANNED. RECEIVED TWO ENGINE CODES P2111 & P2112. ALL HAVING TO DO WITH THE THROTTLE BODY . *TR
WAS TRAVELING ON A FREEWAY WHEN A THE CARE LOST POWER AND BEGAN SLOWING DOWN. A LITTLE WRENCH ICON APPEARED. I THERE WAS NO PLACE TO PULL OVER SO I TURNED ON FLASHERS AND RODE ON THE HIGHWAY UNTIL THE CARE STOPPED. TRAFFIC BEHIND ME SWERVED TO AVOID MY CAR. I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUED ON MY WAY. THE VEHICLE FAILED 3 MORE TIMES ON THE WAY HOME. *TR

THE TINT WAS IMPACTING VISIBILITY AND WAS REMOVED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE REAR WINDOW TINT WAS NOT REMOVED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT NO REMEDY WAS PROVIDED. UPON MAKING A TURN OR WHILE TRAVELING AT ANY SPEED, THE GEARS DOWNSHIFTED TOO FAST. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
BODY CORROSION ON THE HOOD / DOOR CAUSING PAINT TO CHIP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF TO STOP THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON TWO OTHER OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000. UPDATED 6/11/15*CN MA 10/22/2015 UPDATED 10/11/2017*CN

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN THE TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE WHO LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE THROTTLE BODY. THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AND CAUSED THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO THE PROCEEDING VEHICLE REAR END. THERE WAS NO INJURY TO REPORT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,264 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,508.
WHEN SLOWING DOWN I NOTICE THE CAR HAS A DELAYED DOWN SHIFT ALMOST LIKE A HIT FROM THE BACK, I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCE THIS TYPE OF RIDE UNLESS THE CAR HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES, I REALLY HOPE THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM THE CAR IS ONLY 2 YRS OLD AND THE WARRANTY IS GONE ON IT, I HAVE READ IN THE FORUMS ONLINE WHERE OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS SAME UNEXPLAINED DOWN SHIFT. THIS APPEARS TO BE SOME TYPE OF FACTORY GOOF UP AND IT REALLY MAKES FORD LOOK BAD (THIS IS MY FIRST FORD). NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE HAVE SUCH LOW FAITH IN AMERICAN MADE CARS YOU GET A WARRANTY THAT'S OVER IN 3 YEARS AND YOU HAVE MECHANICAL PROBLEMS SUCH AS THIS THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED AND SERVICED IMMEDIATELY. *TR

THERE WERE MANY INCIDENTS WITH MY MUSTANG 5.0 BUT THIS WAS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT. THE PROBLEM IS AS I FOUND OUT TWO YEARS LATER IS THAT THE WIDTH OF THE OEM TIRES AND WHEELS ARE TOO NARROW FOR THE WEIGHT AND POWER OF THIS VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING ON EL CAMINO REAL AND I HAD TO STOP SUDDENLY BECAUSE A CAR CAME ON THE ROAD UNEXPECTEDLY AND THE DRIVER IN FRONT OF ME HIT THE BRAKES AND SO I DID BUT MY CAR JUST KEPT SLIDING FORWARD, IT LOST GRIP WITH THE ASPHALT COMPLETELY. I EXPERIENCED SIMILAR SITUATIONS MANY TIMES WHEN TAKING TURNS WHERE MY REAR WOULD SPIN AROUND THE FRONT WHICH RENDERS THE CAR OUT OF CONTROL SWINGING LEFT AND RIGHT IN BOTH LANES ON THE ROAD. WHEN SLOWING TO TURN LEFT INTO A PARKING LOT WAITING FOR TRAFFIC IN THE OTHER DIRECTION TO PASS SO THAT I COULD SAFELY TURN...ONCE IT IS SAFE TO TURN, WHEN I STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THERE IS A VERY SLOW RESPONSE TIME FOR THE VEHICLE TO START ACCELERATING. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IN THAT THE CAR WON'T GET OUT OF THE WAY QUICKLY. IT HESITATES FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS AFTER I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BEFORE ANY ACCELERATION. THE "SERVICE AUTOTRACK" LIGHT CAME ON AS I WAS PULLING OUT FROM A PARKING SPACE IN THE MORNING, AND THE POWER TO THE BACK WHEELS WAS REDUCED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE, AND WAS INFORMED OF A MANUFACTURER DEFECT IN THE GPAS SYSTEM THAT COULD CAUSE THE STEERING TO FAIL. THE DEALERSHIP KEPT THE VEHICLE, AS IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO THIS GPAS SYSTEM DEFECT. FORD IS NOT CURRENTLY MANUFACTURING REPLACEMENT GPAS SYSTEMS, THEY HAVE OUTSOURCED TO AN OUTSIDE COMPANY (PER THE FORD CUSTOMER CARE REPRESENTATIVE) AND IT IS GOING TO TAKE SIX WEEKS TO GET THE PART. *TR
AFTER I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE I NOTICED A VIBRATION IN THE SHIFTER WHICH EMINATED FROM THE TRANSMISSION. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP APRROXIMATELY A MONTH OR MORE LATER AND WAS INFORMED THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. HOWEVER, TO THIS DAY THERE EXISTS A VERY NOTICABLE VIBRATION WITH INCREASING EPISODES OF DIFFICULTY CHANGING GEARS BETWEEN # 5 TO 2, EITHER SHIFTING UP OR DOWN. IT IS MORE NOTICABLE WHEN DOWN SHIFTING. ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION I HAD TO SHIFT INTO ANOTHER GEAR ABOVE WHAT I WAS ATTEMPTING TO GO FOR BECAUSE THE GEAR WOULD NOT CONNECT INTO PROPER PLACEMENT. THIS CAUSED A BRIEF BACK UP WHEN GOING ONTO THE FREEWAY WITH SEVERAL CARS BEHIND ME DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION BEING STUCK IN A PARTICULAR GEAR SETTING (#3). THIS CLEARED ONCE I CHANGED TO A LOWER GEAR RATIO. *TR
