WHILE DRIVING, AT ANY SPREED, WITHOUT WARNING, THE ENGINE WILL JUST STOP DRIVING. THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON, AND YOU HAVE TO BE LUCKY TO NOT HAVE TRAFFIC, AS YOU HAVE TO PULL OVER, TURN OFF IGNITION, AND RESTART. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATES. CODE: P2111. THIS HAPPENED YESTERDAY, AND SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST 2 YEARS.
MY CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 31000 MILES ON IT. I"M THE SECOND OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE. 18 DAYS AGO ANTIFREEZE WAS ON MY GARAGE FLOOR. MY MECHANIC COME OVER AND EXPLAINED TO ME THAT MY WATER PUMP HAD GONE BAD. SO I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS STILL WAS UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. THEY DIAGNOSED MY CAR AND VERIFIED THAT IT WAS INDEED THE WATER PUMP AND THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER PERSON THAT WAS WAITING AHEAD OF ME FOR THE SAME THING 30 DAYS. I CALLED OTHER DEALERSHIPS AND THEY TOO WERE OUT OF WATER PUMPS. MY CONCERN IS THAT I WILL HAVE TO KEEP BUYING ANTI FREEZE EVERY OTHER DAY AND I CANNOT AFFORD THIS. THIS DEALER SHIP TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE A LOANER VEHICLE FOR ME. PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU. *TR
FAILURE OF THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY. THE VEHICLE WENT INTO THE "LIMP HOME MODE" SIMILAR TO THE RECALL OF FORD ESCAPES AND OTHERS WITH SAME V-6 ENGINE ASSEMBLY.
WHILE MERGING ON A LOCAL HIGHWAY AT 15 MPH THE WRENCH WARNING LIGHT CAME AND THE CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE. I WAS LUCKY THE RIGHT HAND LANE HAD BREAK IN TRAFFIC AND I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD. THE LIMP TURNED IN NO ACCELERATION AND WAS UNRESPONSIVE TO THE GAS PEDAL. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WAITED 1 MINUTE AND RESTARTED THE CAR - EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL. I DROVE DIRECTLY TO MY MECHANIC AND HAD HIM SCAN FOR CODES. NO CODES WERE FOUND. HE RAN NUMEROUS OTHER CHECKS AND DROVE THE CAR FOR 60 MILES WITH NO PROBLEMS. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE WRENCH WARNING LIGHT HAS COME ON IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS. THE FIRST TIME NOTHING HAPPENED AS THE CAR DID NOT GO INTO LIMP MODE. THE CAR WAS SCANNED THEN ALSO WITH NO CODES SHOWING. I WAS FORTUNATE NOT TO HAVE BEEN HIT.
WHILE MY SON WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY DECELERATED, DOWN TO ABOUT 20 MPH, FORCING HIM TO LIMP TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY, WHERE THERE WAS NO SHOULDER. AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF, LETTING IT SIT FOR A MINUTE, AND TURNING IT BACK ON, IT ACCELERATED FINE. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY. IT COST $683.32 TO REPAIR. I GOOGLED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT MANY FORD MODELS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM, BUT THE MUSTANG HAS NO EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM LIKE THE FUSION AND A FEW OTHER MODELS DO. THIS WAS TERRIBLY DANGEROUS. MY SON COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. *TR

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE ENGINE WOULD EXHIBIT A LOSS OF POWER, BUT WOULD NOT STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 4,600. SM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED; WHICH LOCATED THE FAILURE IN THE ENGINE BLOCK DUE TO PREMATURE OIL CONSUMPTION. THE ENGINE BLOCK WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE ENGINE BLOCK CONTINUED TO CONSUME OIL PREMATURELY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY AT A INTERSECTION AND GENTLY APPLYING THE BRAKES THE ENGINE ACCELERATED AND THE ABS WENT ON BUT THE CAR DIDN'T STOP UNTIL I TURNED THE CORNER. I CHECKED THE NEXT DAY TO SEE IF IT WAS POSSIBLE THAT I HAD APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THERE IS NO WAY MY FOOT COULD HAVE APPLIED BOTH SYSTEMS SIMULTANEOUSLY. I HAD THE DEALER CHECK MY AUTO TODAY BUT BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE DIDN'T COME ON THE COULD NOT FIND ANY MALFUNCTION. THIS IS THE FIRST OCCURRENCE ON THE 2012 FORD MUSTANG V6. *TR
