THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
CAR SHIFTS DOWN BY ITSELF AND SHOWS DASHES ON THE ODOMETER AS THE SPEEDOMETER GETS STUCK ON ZERO. IT ALSE SHOWS WRENCH LIGHT WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE 2013 MUSTANG HAS 6R80 TRANSMISSION AND THE DEALERSHIP IS CHARGING ME 950$ TO FIX THE CAR. THEY SAID THEY WILL REPLACE THE MOLDED LEADFRAME.
MY 2013 FORD MUSTANG FEELS AS IF IT DROPS INTO 1ST GEAR WHILE AT A SPEED OF 40 TO 60 MPH FEELS AS IF THE CAR BRAKES ON ITS OWN RPMS WILL GO UP BUT SPEEDOMETER WILL BE ON 0 MPH. I THINK THE F 150 IS HAVING A SIMILAR PROBLEM AND MY MUSTANG DOES HAVE THE V6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SPUTTERED AND HESITATED. THE SERVICE VEHICLE SENSOR DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN I-35 IN THE ARBUCKLE MOUNTAINS IN OKLAHOMA GOING 70MPH WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY DISENGAGED THE CRUISE CONTROL AND DOWNSHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR. IT FELT LIKE THE BRAKES WERE BEING APPLIED FORCEFULLY AND THEN THE CAR RETURNED TO DRIVING NORMALLY. THIS HAPPENED TWO MORE TIMES UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF ON THE SHOULDER AS I HAD ALMOST GOTTEN INTO AN ACCIDENT THE FIRST TIME IT DID IT. DURING THIS TIME THE CAR WAS IN THE DRIVE SELECTOR AND WHEN THE PROBLEM WOULD HAPPEN THE CAR WOULD SHOW IT HAD ENTERED SPORT MODE AND THEN THE DOWNSHIFTING WOULD OCCUR. THIS WOULD HAPPEN WITHOUT WARNING AND SUDDENLY, WITHOUT ANY INPUT FROM ME. THIS TERRIFIED ME AS I WAS GOING AT SUCH A HIGH SPEED AND IT WAS SPRINKLING OUT AND A CAR WAS FOLLOWING CLOSELY BEHIND ME. LUCKILY I WAS NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A NEARBY FORD DEALERSHIP TO BE LOOKED AT AND ARE AWAITING THE RESULTS. AS I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM LATER THAT NIGHT I FOUND THAT MANY FORD 2011-2012 VEHICLES HAD BEEN RECALLED FOR THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. MINE IS A 2013 MODEL AND WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, THEREFORE I WAS UNAWARE OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE.
TAKATA RECALL NHTSA RECALL 18V046 CONTACTED HUNTINGTON BEACH FORD TO ASK FOR PROMPT REPAIR. THEY STATED THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART IN STOCK. THEY HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH A DATE OF WHEN THEY WILL RECEIVE IT. THIS LEAVES ME WITH AN UNSAFE VEHICLE TO DRIVE WITHOUT ANY IDEA OF WHEN THE REPAIR CAN TAKE PLACE.

AFTER HAVING MY CAR FOR 5.5 YEARS, IT STARTED TO SHIFT GEARS ON ITS OWN (IT'S AN AUTOMATIC) AND BRAKE/STALL WHEN I'M GOING LOW SPEEDS. ESPECIALLY WHEN I'M AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, IT WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO ACCELERATE (BEEN STUCK IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS ABOUT 5 TIMES) EVEN WITH MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR. THE ENGINE DOES NOT SHUT OFF...SO I WILL TURN MY CAR OFF AND BACK ON TO GET GOING AGAIN. ONE TIME I WAS ON THE FREE WAY WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS GOING 65 MPH AND MY DASH BOARD WENT COMPLETELY RED AND SPEEDOMETER WENT TO ZERO...THE CAR DID NOT STOP UNTIL I MANUALLY TURNED IF OFF ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ALSO, IT ONCE DID THE OPPOSITE WHEN I WAS TRYING TO BRAKE BEFORE A RED LIGHT, THE CAR JOLTED/ACCELERATED FORWARD WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE GAS. I'VE REPLACED THE AIR FILTERS, BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, AND ENGINE'S WIRE HARNESS (ALL AT SEPARATE TIMES) AND THE ISSUE REMAINS.
I WAS SHIFTING MY CAR INTO 3RD HEAR AND THE SHIFTER GOT STUCK CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO NOT LET ME GET OUT OF GEAR THIS HAPPENED IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD.

CLEAR COAT FINISH ON TRUNK PANEL BEGAN PEELING WHEN CAR 3 1/2 YEARS OLD. ALUMINUM HOOD CORROSION AT ALMOST 5 YEARS OLD PAINT IS BUBBLING AT THE FRONT EDGE OF ALUMINUM HOOD. APPARENTLY WHEN BEING PAINTED THE ALUMINUM HOOD WAS CONTAMINATED WITH STEEL PARTICLES WHICH FORD KNEW AT THE TIME OF MANUFACTURE WOULD CAUSE CORROSION AND PAINT PEELING BUT DID NOTHING TO TRY TO CORRECT THE METAL CONTAMINATION WHEN VEHICLES WERE PAINTED SO NOW AT 24,800 MILES THE HOOD IS CORRODING AND PAINT IS BUBBLING AND PEELING. I PAID ALOT OF MONEY FOR THIS CAR MUSTANG V6 PONY PACKAGE AND TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH HOOD CORROSION AND PEELING PAINT ON THIS CAR IS RIDICULOUS AND SHAMEFUL THAT FORD WILL NOT COVER THIS DAMAGE. I HAVE BOUGHT FORD VEHICLES MY WHOLE LIFE BUT I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A FORD VEHICLE AGAIN.

TAKATA INFLATORS I RECEIVED A NOTICE ABOUT MY RECALL HOWEVER I PICK UP MY 14 Y/O BROTHER EVERYDAY , AND IF WE ARE I A ACCIDENT THEN WHAT? THE ELECTRONIC THROTLE BODY CONTROL HAS TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE ENGINE ACCELERATOR QUITS WORKING AND THE ENGINE RUNS AT IDLE BUT THERE IS NO ACCELERATION WHEN YOU STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHEN I STOP AT A SIGNAL OR STOP SIGN AND THEN ATTEMPT TO CONTINUE DRIVING, AND I HAVE BEEN STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION ON CITY STREETS. THIS HAS OCCURED ABOUT 4 OR 5 TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH.

MY MOTHER BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW, THE NEIGHBORS HACKED INTO THE SYNC SYSTEM ONCE AND HAD ISSUES OUT OF RADIO SINCE, BUT SHE'S NOT CONCERNED OVER THAT, THE 6SPEED TRANSMISSION WILL SHIFT ON ITS ON, BE RUNNING 55 AND DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST, AND GO TO PULL OUT IN 6TH AND HAD ALMOST GOT HER HIT MORE THAN ONCE , I HOOKED COMPUTER TO IT RESET EVERYTHING TO FACTORY EXCEPT THE MY KEY AND BLUETOOTH WHICH NEIGHBORS HACKED, BUT I TOOK DOWN THE RD AND DRIVING NORMAL TO SET SHIFTING POINTS, I WAS IN A 60 MPH ZONE GOING 55 AND LUCKILY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME IT DECIDED THAT 1RST GEAR WAS NESSASARY GEAR AT 55 AND I FISH TAILED UNTIL I SHIFTED INTO N, BUT SHE IS OLDER AND JUST PAID IT OFF, AND NOW SINCE POLICE WOULDN'T HELP US AGAINST THEIR OWN FAMILY I. THE DRIVER SIDE IS READY BUT NOT THE PASSENGER SIDE. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO SINCE IT IS THE CAR THAT MY TEENAGER IS RIDING IN DAILY. WOULD YOU DRIVE AROUND WITH A CHILD IN THIS DANGEROUS CAR? The contact owns a 2013 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH, the transmission downshifted, and the RPM was elevated. The vehicle then shifted into LIMP Mode and drove erratically. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the fuel gauge was indicating that the fuel tank was empty however, but there was fuel in the tank. The contact stated that the speedometer showed the vehicle at 0 MPH while the RPM was elevated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no failure was found. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

I'M A LONG TIME FORD OWNER. IN JULY, 2017 THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ON MY 2013 MUSTANG GT WHICH HAD LESS THAN 40K MILES, MALFUNCTIONED WHICH IN TURN RESULTED IN THE LOSS OF TRACTION CONTROL, ABS AND OTHER ELECTRONIC ASSIST FUNCTIONS. AFTER BEING INFORMED THAT MY WARRANTY WAS EXPIRE, I WAS QUOTED OVER $2.2K. ANNOYED THAT A LOW MILEAGE CAR WHICH WAS LESS THAN 4 YEARS OLD COULD HAVE AN ISSUE LIKE THIS, I CHOSE TO DRIVE IT WITHOUT POWER STEERING. FAST FORWARD TO JANUARY 2018, I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE WHICH HAPPENED TO LOSE ALL STEERING FUNCTION WHILE IN THEIR POSSESSION. THE DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED THAT THE CAR WAS A TICKING TIME BOMB AND THAT I SHOULD BE GRATEFUL THAT THE STEERING DIDN'T GO OUT WHILE I WAS ON THE ROAD. I WAS BLOWN AWAY BECAUSE THEY NEVER INFORMED ME THAT I WOULD LOSE ALL STEERING IN THE ORIGINAL DIAGNOSIS 6 MONTHS EARLIER. I CONTACTED FORD CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY JUST FILED IT AWAY AND DON'T WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE DUE TO THE POTENTIAL LIABILITY IT CAN FACE FOR SELLING CARS WITH FAULTY STEERING THAT ARE LIKELY TO FAIL ON THE ROAD. FORD'S POWER STEERING ISSUES ARE WELL-KNOWN, BUT THE ASSOCIATED CATASTROPHIC STEERING FAILURE IS NOT. BASICALLY, IF YOU DRIVE A FORD PRODUCT AND THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT, YOU ARE DRIVING A DEATH TRAP.

WAS DRIVING MY 2013 MUSTANG HOME FROM MY PARENTS HOUSE THE CAR DIDN'T WANT TO SHIFT OR MOVE EVEN AT FULL THROTTLE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED IT DROVE HOME JUST FINE. WENT TO DRIVE IT LATER THAT NIGHT AND AGAIN CAR DIDN'T WANT TO SHIFT NOR MOVE BUT THIS TIME I LOST MY SPEEDOMETER AND ALL MY DIGITAL DISPLAY IN THE CENTER WENT BLANK. AS THE DAYS AND WEEKS WENT BY THE PROBLEM STARTED BECOMING MORE FREQUENT SO I TOOK IT TO AN AUTO ZONE TO GET THE CODES CHECKED HAD CODES P0720 AND P0722 (OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR INSIDE MOLDED LEAD FRAME) COME UP ON THE CODE READER. I THEN CALLED MY COUSIN WHO IS A FORD DEALER MECHANIC TO LOOK UP MY CODES AND HE TOLD ME TO COME BY THE SHOP AND SHOWED ME WHAT THE CODES WERE FROM THE SOFTWARE FROM FORD THEY USED. WE THEN LOOKED UP TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE PART AND FOUND A RECALL FROM FORD FOR THE 2012 MUSTANG WITH THE 6R80 WHICH IS THE SAME AUTO TRANSMISSION THAT I HAVE. THE CUT OFF BUILD DATE FOR THE RECALL WAS FEBRUARY 2012 AND MY VEHICLE WAS MADE IN AUGUST OF 2012. I ALSO READ OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME YEAR AND TRANSMISSION THAT I HAVE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS ME. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE TO SEE IF I THEY WOULD EXTEND THE RECALL TO COVER 2013 MUSTANGS THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT. I PERSONALLY HAVE HAD MULTIPLE TIMES WHERE THE SHIFTING HAS ALMOST CAUSED A WRECK. AN INSTANCE HERE RECENTLY WAS I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT OF THE COMPANY I WORK AT AND THE CAR STARTED OFF FINE THEN STALLED AND DIDN'T WANT TO GO AND ALMOST GOT T BONED. ANOTHER INSTANCE WAS A COUPLE DAYS BEFORE THANKSGIVING AND I WAS HEADED TO MY PARENTS HOUSE AND JUST MERGED ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR STARTED ACTING UP AND COULD OF EASILY CAUSED A PILE UP NEAR THE RAMP AND GOT SOMEONE KILLED.BOUGHT THE CAR FROM A FORD DEALERSHIP WITH 34K MILES NOW HAS ABOUT 76K MILES.
UNDER MEDIUM TO HARD ACCELERATION EXHAUST FUMES ENTER THE CABIN, POSSIBLE EXHAUST DEFECT IN EXHAUST MANIFOLD, SMELLS LIKE RAW FUMES NOT PASSED THRU CATALYTIC CONVERTER. WIDOWS ARE CLOSED DURING ACCELERATION.USUALLY WHEN ACCELERATING ONTO HIGHWAY ETC. IT DOES THIS EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT. NOT AN OCCASIONAL THING ALWAYS.
FOR 5 MONTHS OUR 2013 FORD MUSTANG HAS BEEN SHUTTING OFF IN TRAFFIC. THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FIVE TIMES AND NOT FIXED YET. THE MECHANIC PUT THE CAR ON THE COMPUTER AND ERROR CODE P2111 SHOWS UP, BUT WHEN TAKEN BACK TO DEALER THEY CLEARED THE CODE AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE LESS THAN A MILE FROM MY HOME NOTICED I HAD NO AIR WHEN I HIT THE AC BUTTON AS IT WAS VERY WARM DAY THIS HAS HAPPENED INTERMITTENTLY IN THE LAST 2 YEARS , SO I PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED AND THE AIR AND A/C BEGAN WORKING. I TOOK INTO FORD WHEN CAR WAS STILL UNDER THE 3 YEAR 36000 MILE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY FOR THIS ISSUE AND WAS BASICALLY TOLD THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING SINCE IT WAS NO OCCURRING AT THAT TIME. I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH WINDOWS FOGGING UP WHILE DRIVING AFTER JUST STARTING THE VEHICLE SINCE OWNING IT. THIS CAR ALSO HAS A DEFECTIVE CLEAR COAT FINISH ON THE BACK OF VEHICLE TRUNK AREA. THE CLEAR COAT ON THE BLACK PANEL OF THE TRUNK IS PEELING OFF THIS CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I CANNOT BELIEVE THE CLEARCOAT IS PEELING OFF AS BADLY IS IT IS. I AM EMBARRASSED TO DRIVE THIS CAR WITH THE CLEARCOAT PEELING OFF THE WAY IT IS. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING AT ALL. I HAVE OWNED FORD VEHICLES MY WHOLE LIFE AND AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE QUALITY OF THIS MUSTANG(WHICH I HAD TO SAVE MY MONEY FOUR 4 YEARS BEFORE I COULD BUY ONE) I HAD A 1995 MUSTANG GT FOR 13 YEARS NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THE PAINT ON IT. I HAVE ALWAYS BOUGHT FORD BUT I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD VEHICLE AGAIN. I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE THE FINISH IS PEELING OFF ON A 4 YR OLD VEHICLE. I AM ALSO VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE FACT THAT I HAD TO DRIVE MY CAR FOR OVER A YEAR AND A HALF WITH DEFECTIVE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG BEFORE THEY ACTUALLY REPLACED IT. I HAD TO REDUCE MY DRIVING UNTIL IT WAS REPLACED ALMOST A YEAR AND A HALF AFTER RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTICE.

LOSS OF POWER TO THE ENGINE WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE SERVICE WRENCH AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. ALSO, A SORT OF SHUDDERING NOISE COMES FROM THE ENGINE. WHEN THIS OCCURS, I CAN NOT ACCELERATE. THE CAR PRETTY MUCH GOES LIMP AND I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND RESTART MY CAR. IT COULD BE FROM AN ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY FAILURE. THIS HAS HAPPENED FIVE TIMES.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS-14503496. MY VEHICLE HAS FAILED WITHOUT WARNING FOUR TIMES IN THE PAST 3 MONTHS. ONCE THE VEHICLE FAILS IT IS IN A NO-START CONDITION. THE 4TH TIME MY VEHICLE FAILED AGAIN WITHOUT WARNING AND THIS TIME I WAS MERGING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY DURING RUSH HOUR. PER THE MECHANICS DIAGNOSTIC - CODE P025A FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE OPEN CIRCUIT.

I RECEIVED A LETTER REGARDING NHTSA RECALL # 15V319 AND MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER# 15S21 A YEAR AGO STATING I WOULD RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL LETTER AT THE END OF THAT YEARS QUARTER ADVISING ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO DEALER WHEN RECALL REMEDY IS COMPLETE. I HAVE BEEN MONITORING THE STATUS OF THE RECALL REMEDY AND NOW IN 2017 THE REMEDY IS STILL INCOMPLETE AND I AM UNABLE TO GET THIS RESOLVED WITH DEALERSHIP. THE SAFETY RISK FOR THIS RECALL IS SEVERE AND EXTREMELY HIGH RISK. I LIVE IN TX HIGH HUMIDITY AND IT STATES IT CAN POTENTIALLY INJURE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS IF INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE REMEDY STATES DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE DRIVER AIRBAG, YET WHEN I TRY TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AT DEALERSHIP, THEY STATE THE RECALL IS INCOMPLETE AND THEY DON'T HAVE THE AVAILABLE PARTS TO HANDLE THE REPLACEMENT AND I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR ANOTHER LETTER FROM MANUFACTURER TO INFORM ME THE PARTS OR RECALL IS COMPLETE. MANUAL TRANSMISSION HAS PROBLEMS GOING INTO GEAR. SYNCHROS ARE BEING REPLACED A SECOND TIME WITH LESS THAN 60K MILES AND THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN ON A RACE TRACK. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN I'VE TRIED MERGING ONTO A FREEWAY ONLY TO FIND MYSELF NOT BEING ABLE TO GET INTO 5TH GEAR. NOW I'M TOLD MY CLUTCH HAS TO BE REPLACED. SOMETHING SEEMS WRONG. ALTHOUGH A 2013 MY CAR WAS PURCHASED IN 2012 AND I IMAGINE HAS THE SAME PARTS AS THOSE WHO FILED COMPLAINTS RESULTING IN AN INVESTIGATION OF THE 2012 MUSTANG TRANSMISSIONS.

AT EACH VISIT, FORD DEALERSHIP RESPONDS THAT THE AIRBAG IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR REPLACEMENT AT THE TIME OF VISIT. SEEKING ANOTHER FORD DEALERSHIP RECOMMENDATION AT ZIPCODE: 92234 TO HAVE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT.
ANCHORS FOR CAR SEATS ARE UNUSABLE. ONLY ONE ANCHOR IS INSTALLED PER SIDE FOR CAR SEATS IN THE BACK SEAT MAKING THEM UNUSABLE. IN ADDITION THE ANCHOR AT THE TOP IS UNUSABLE AS THE HEADREST PREVENTS TIGHTENING OF THE UPPER STRAP. CALLED FORD AND THEY HAD NO SOLUTION. THE OWNERS MANUAL PROVIDES INACCURATE INFORMATION.

RECALL ISSUED MAY 2015. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN FEB 2016 AND DEALERSHIP DID NOT DISCLOSE RECALL NOTICE. AFTER MULTIPLE TRIES TO GET CAR FIXED, FORD KEEPS PUCHING BACK THE DATE TO GET PARTS FOR RECALL. CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
