the following problem happened to me a few years ago (twice within a couple of months) and again, 2 days ago. Each time I was standing at a traffic light when all of a sudden it accelerated at full throttle. I practically stood on the brake pedal, but the car was inching forward, as I put the transmission into park. This was not a subtle situation, it was dangerous. The engine went from idle to screaming within 2 seconds. I ruled out the floor mat as it was in the proper position and snapped into the floor. It did not cause any warning lights to come on. in May, I had the oil changed, at which time they suggested that they clean the throttle body, which they did. They never heard of the above problem.
Was driving my vehicle on the freeway traveling about 70 miles per hour when the vehicle suddenly shifted into first gear. I was able to maintain control and the vehicle shifted back to sixth gear. Issue occurred again within 5 minutes of the first incident and then the vehicle went into "Limp Mode". I was able to drive the vehicle home under this condition. Vehicle check engine light turned on and the code P0720, which is the Output Speed Sensor Circuit. This is the same issue that occurred on 2011-2013 F-150 and Mustang vehicles that currently have a recall for this (Safety Recall 19S07). The same transmissions (6R80) are used in both vehicles, as well as the Powertrain Control Modules, but my vehicle's VIN did not fall under this recall. This is a very dangerous issue that could lead to a deadly accident.
On 5-26-22 i took my mustang to Roush Ford in Hillard Oh. They tested and found out that I needed a lead frame connector. Part # Al327627V $ 226.10. I paid in advance for this part as Roush said they would not order unless I paid in advance. Roush stated they would call when part comes in. I made several attempts to get status of part and all they would say is they were still awaiting. On or about 6-20-23 I called again, At this time they stated the dealership had been sold to Valley ford and still no word on part arrival. I have owned several Fords in my life but after awaiting over 1 yr on a part and car I could not safely have my wife drive I decided to trade it in for another vehicle. I then called Valley to ask for them to credit my card in the amount of the part. They told me that the money went with Roush and they could not return my money?? They suggested I call Roush auto group( Honda ). I made the call to service manager and he said that Roush Ford was no longer in business and they could not refund my monies. In my mind Ford was paid the $226.10 and someone should be able to pay me back. I am asking that The Ford Motor co honor the deal by paying me back. Thanks
While driving the clutch pedal will stick to the floor after shifting gears. You can pull the pedal up manually and it will functioning properly for a while but will repeat sticking to the floor. May happen once a day, once a week or more often. Ambient temperature has no affect to the problem. Car currently has 15,000 miles on it
THE CAR WOULD LOOSE POWER AND NOT SHIFT PROPERLY. AFTER A YEAR OF TRYING TO DIAGNOSE THE TROUBLE IT WAS THE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR. FINALLY GOT A TROUBLE CODE. FORD RECALLED THE 2011 & 2012 MUSTANGS BUT NOT MINE. THE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR IS THE EXACT SAME PART NUMBER FOR THE RECALLED YEARS AND MINE.
2014 FORD MUSTANG. CONSUMER WITES IN REGARDS TO STOCK DRIVE SHAFT FAILURE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE STOCK DRIVE SHAFT CAN BREAK INTO PIECES AT SPEEDS OVER 110 MPH. THE CONSUMER STATED THIS POTENTIAL FAILURE SHOULD CAUSE FOR A RECALL. *JS
EVERY SINCE I BOUGHT THIS 2014 MUSTANG GT WITH THE GETRAG M-82 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION IT HAS HAD NOTHING BUT SHIFTING PROBLEMS THIRD GEAR LOCK OUT, NOTCHE SHIFTING SINCE I'VE BOUGHT IT IS FORD EVER GOING TO RECALL AND FIX THESE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS? THIS IS MY DAILY DRIVER AND IT DOES IT EVERY DAY WHEN I'M DRIVING. *TR
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. HAD TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $2600.00. ALSO SPENT SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS ON DIAGNOSIS AND CAR RENTAL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE TRANSMISSION CEASED IN 2ND GEAR AND FAILED TO SHIFT TO A LOWER OR HIGHER GEAR. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND CALLED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,577.
AIR CONDITIONER CLUTCH CATASTROPHICALLY FAILED AT 52000 MILES. THIS CREATES A VISIBILITY PROBLEM WHEN THE INTERIOR WINDSHIELD IS FOGGED UP AS IT CANNOT BE PROPERLY DEFOGGED WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS THE SECOND MAJOR COMPONENT TO FAILURE ON THIS VEHICLE IN 5 WEEKS, AS THE WATER PUMP WENT OUT AUGUST 10TH WHILE DRIVING AND DUMPED ALL THE COOLANT, QUICKLY OVERHEATING THE MOTOR.
I WAS DRIVING USING THE TECTONIC SHIFTING ON MY AUTOMATIC V8 MUSTANG AND I WAS COMING TO A STOP AND LOWERING THE GEARS MY CAR STARTED ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN AND IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO STOP. MY FOOT WAS NOT ON THE GAS AND IT WAS GOING, INCREASED SPEED UNEXPECTEDLY.
HAVING REAR END WHINNING NOISE, FORD WORKED ON REAR END COMPONENTS 6 TIMES NOW. THE LAST REPAIR THEY DID THE REPLACED HOUSING AND CARRIER- PRETTY MUCH BRAND NEW REAR END. I'M STILL HAVING REAR END NOISE AND THEY REFUSE ME OF ANY FURTHER REPAIRS. VEHICLE IS IN MOTION WHEN I HEAR THIS NOISE ONLY WHEN ACCELERATING, AS SOON AS I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS IT STOPS. I HAVE A LONG HISTORY OF THIS PROBLEM WITH THEM IN FORDS RECORDS.
I WAS AT A RED LIGHT, LIGHT TURNS GREEN, I TAKE OFF IN 1ST GEAR AND THE CAR STARTS TO HESITATE. I TRY ACCELERATING A LITTLE MORE, THINKING THAT MAYBE I'M NOT GIVING IT ENOUGH GAS BUT IT LIMPED EVEN HARDER. THEN, THE POWER TRAIN LIGHT COMES ON. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH IN FIRST GEAR, THE GEAR SHIFTER WOULD NOT MOVE TO SECOND GEAR. THE CONTACT HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AGAIN, BUT IT WOULD NOT ALLOW HIM TO SWITCH TO SECOND GEAR. THE CONTACT FORCED THE GEAR SHIFTER TO FOURTH GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SKIP SHIFT WAS A STANDARD MANUFACTURER FEATURE IN ALL MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLES, WHICH ALLOWS IT TO SKIP SECOND AND THIRD GEARS FOR LESS FUEL CONSUMPTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
DRIVING HE CAR AT ABOUT 40MPH MOSTLY IN TRAFFIC I LOST COMPLETELY THE THROTTLE AND I CAN'T ACCELERATE AND SHOW THE WRENCH LIGHT IN THE CLUSTER. I HAVE TO COMPLETELY STOP PUT THE CAR IN PARK TURN OFF AND WAIT A FEW MINUTES AND THE CAR WILL WORK AGAIN FOR A FEW HOURS SOME TIME DAYS WITH OUT PROBLEM BUT THIS HAPPEN WITH OUT ANY WARNING. WHEN I GET THE CAR TO THE REPAIR SHOP I FOUND THE DTC P2111. I DID A PCM REPROGRAM WITH THE LATEST CALIBRATION FILES FROM THE MOTORCRAFT SERVICE WEB SITE. BUT I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM, Y WONDERING THAT SOME DAY I WILL CAUSE A ACCIDENT TO ME AND SOME BODY ELSE. I HOPE SOMEBODY TAKE CONSIDERATION OF THIS PROBLEM IN MY CAR AND A LOT MORE THAT I WAS READING IN THE FORD FORUM. AS I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS KIND OF PROBLEM IN FORD VEHICLES. THANK YOU VERY MUCH *TR
THE 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION GRINDS AND/OR LOCKS OUT OF GEAR WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. THE CAR BUCKS AND SURGES, WORSE WHEN GOING DOWNHILL. IT MAKES A KNOCKING NOISE WHEN THERE IS A TORQUE CHANGE.
MY 2014 FORD MUSTANG WITH 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION SHAKES, SOMETIMES VIOLENTLY, WHEN DOWNSHIFTING FROM 4TH TO 3RD GEAR. IT ALSO SHAKES WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS LET UP WHEN IN SECOND GEAR. I HAVE HAD IT IN FOR REPAIR SEVERAL TIMES, AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT IS A KNOWN TRANSMISSION PROBLEM THAT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. THIS IS NOT MY FIRST MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLE, AND I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR SHAKE WHILE DRIVING. PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2015 AND THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN FROM DAY ONE. *TR
I JUST GOT THIS CAR USED TOOK IT IN FOR A NOISE IN THE TRANSMISSION IN 5TH GEAR KNOWING IT IS UNDER WARRANTY THE FORD DEALER STARTED THE WORK ON THE CAR THREE DAYS LATER I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS ABUSED AND NOT UNDER WARRANTY I WAS TOLD THAT THE OLD OWNER CHANGED THE CLUTCH THAT CAUSED THE DAMAGE I FIND THAT HARD TO BELIEVE THIS CAR IS NOT MODIFIED IN ANY WAS SO WHY THE CLUTCH AND I HAVE READ ALL OF THE 5TH GEAR PROBLEMS LIKE MINE. THEY HAVE TOLD ME THE REPAIR IS 3400. TO FIX AND IF THEY PUT IT BACK TOGETHER IT WILL BE 500 OR 600 I DIDN'T GIVE THEM WRITTEN OR WARBLE PERMISSION TO DO THIS SO I DON'T KNOW HOW I WILL HANDLE IT. THIS IS A ON GOING PROBLEM WITH THIS TRANSMISSION I'M TRYING TO WORK IT OUT WITH THE DEALER BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW IT WILL GO. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
