TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 FORD RANGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TAIL, HAZARD, AND BRAKE LIGHTS, AS WELL AS THE TURN SIGNALS WERE MALFUNCTIONING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE, BUT STATED THAT IT COULD BE RELATED TO A DEFECTIVE SWITCH. ALL OF THE LIGHT BULBS WERE REPLACED AS A TEMPORARY SOLUTION. THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
DT: CONSUMER STATED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY STATED IT WAS A BAD SWITCH IN THE DOOR. THEY WANT TO CHARGE CONSUMER $127 TO FIX IT. . THIS STARTED APPROXIMATELY ONE TO TWO WEEKS AGO. THIS COULD CAUSE DOME LIGHTS TO STAY ON AND DRAIN THE BATTERY. *AK
CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BY A NEIGHBOR THAT VEHICLE HAD NO BRAKE LIGHTS. CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT BOTH BRAKE LIGHT AND TAIL LIGHT WOULD NOT COME ON. MECHANIC REPLACED A FUSE. *AK
CONSUMER CALLED COMPLAINING WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE INTERIOR LIGHT IS INTERMITTENTLY AND CAN'T SEE THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED AND NOTHING THEY CAN DO. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. TS *TR
CONSUMER STATES THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE REAR STOP LIGHT SOCKET AND INSTALLING A BULB. DEALER/MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED AT THIS TIME. NLM CONSUMER STATES THAT THE SOCKET IS JUNKY, HE HAD TO BEND THE CONTACTS FOR IT TO WORK. *JG
WHILE DRIVING, IF THERE WAS THE SLIGHTEST TURN IN THE STEERING WHEEL, THE TURN SIGNAL FAILED TO ENGAGE, AND IF THE SIGNAL TURN SIGNAL WAS SET AND MAKE A SLIGHT TURN OF THE WHEEL, THE SIGNAL WENT OFF. *AK A NEW SIGNAL LIGHT SWITCH WAS ADDED BUT THERE WAS NO CHANGE. THE CONSUMER'S BROTHER HAD PURCHASED A 2002 AND IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. *SCC *JB
