TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT TAKATA IS FILING FOR CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY. I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE ACTION TO HAVE MY RECALLED AIRBAGS REPLACED. I HAVE BEEN TO MULTIPLE FORD DEALERSHIPS SPANNING 2 YEARS TO TRY TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM, BUT PARTS ARE NEVER AVAILABLE. PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU

I HAVE NOTICED THE WHOLE SPINDLE (THE PART THAT THE BRAKES ARE BOLTED TO AND THE WHEEL IS CONNECTED TO) HAS EXCESSIVE RUST SO BAD IF IS COMING OFF IN LARGE PIECES. THE TRUCK WAS NEVER IN WATER OR EXPOSED TO EXCESSIVE SALT ON THE ROADS, ALWAYS KEEP IN A GARAGE OR CARPORT. FROM WHERE THE TOP BALL JOINT BOLTS ON, TO WHERE THE BOTTOM BALL JOINT BOLTS ON, ITS NOTHING BUT RUST. SO MUCH RUST HAS COME OFF THAT IT IS ACTUALLY GETTING SMALLER, ESPECIALLY UP WHERE THE TOP BALL JOINT BOLTS ON BECAUSE IT IS SMALLER IN SIZE. I HAVE SPRAYED RUST KILLER ON IT BECAUSE I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT IT BREAKING FROM GETTING WEAK BECAUSE OF SO MUCH OF THE METAL TURNING TO RUST AND FALLING OFF! IF IT SHOULD BREAK THE WHOLE WHEEL WOULD COME OFF! THIS IS THE ONLY METAL PART ON THE TRUCK THAT IS DOING THIS AND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. I THINK FORD BOUGHT SOME BAD PARTS FROM SOMEWHERE THAT WAS MADE OF CHEAP METAL. I THINK YOU ARE GOING TO SEE MANY MORE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AS PEOPLE NOTICE IT. I HOPE THEY NOTICE IT BEFORE IT STARTS BREAKING OR FAILING, BECAUSE OF SURE LOSS OF STEERING. ITS HARD TO SEE UNLESS YOU HAVE THE WHEEL OFF AND LOOK BEHIND. ALSO THE WHEEL BEARINGS ARE WEARING OUT PREMATURELY AT LESS THAN 60,000 MILES. I AM STILL DRIVING THE TRUCK BUT KEEP CHECKING THE RUSTING SPIMDLE CONDITION, AND WHEEL BEARINGS.

I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT IT WAS BEST IF I PARK MY VEHICLE AND NOT DRIVE IT UNTIL THE PART IS AVAILABLE. I AM UNABLE TO DO THIS BECAUSE OF MY JOB. I CONTACTED FORD DIRECTLY AND THEY BLEW ME OFF. WHEN WILL THIS BE FIXED? 10 PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY DIED BECAUSE OF THIS.

TAKATA RECALL - FORD NOTIFIED ME BY MAIL IN JULY 2016 THAT THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR MIGHT BE DEFECTIVE AND THAT FORD WOULD NOTIFY ME VIA MAIL WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG INFLATOR. I TELEPHONED FORD ON JUNE 8, 2017 AT (800) 392-3673 TO INQUIRE ABOUT GETTING THE AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACED SINICE I HAD NOT YET RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FROM FORD. I WAS TOLD THAT NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE YET. I RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION FROM FORD ON OCTOBER 28, 2017 THAT FORD WANTED TO REPLACE THE DRIVER AIRBAG INFLATOR AS PART OF A VOLUNTARY RESEARCH PROGRAM. I HAVE NOT YET RESPONDED TO THIS REQUEST. HOWEVER, FORD STILL HAS NOT NOTIFIED ME TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL IDENTIFIED PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR.

I TOOK THE TRUCK INTO MY DEALER, METRO FORD, INDEPENDENCE, MO., WITHIN A FEW DAYS OF RECEIVING THE RECALL LETTER. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE THE 4TH QUARTER OF THIS YEAR, SOMETIME IN OCT. 2016. I CALLED THE DEALER TODAY, 10/7/16, TO SEE IF I COULD BRING MY TRUCK IN FOR THE AIRBAG REPAIR, & THE SERVICE MANAGER NOW TELLS ME THE PART MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL AFTER THE FIRST OF THE YEAR 2017. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SLOWNESS OF THIS REPAIR AS I MUST USE MY TRUCK REGULARLY TO HAUL MATERIALS, & AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT MY PASSENGER'S SAFETY. TAKATA RECALL IT'S BEEN 17 MONTHS SINCE I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY TELLING ME THE NEED TO GET NEW AIRBAGS. THE AIRBAGS HAVEN'T DEPLOYED, BUT I DRIVE THIS CAR DAILY AND AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY. LAST WEEK MY LOCAL FORD DEALER SAID, IT COULD BE 2 DAYS, 2 WEEKS, 2 MONTHS, OR 2 YEARS BEFORE WE GET REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS." THEY WEREN'T VERY HELPFUL. THAT'S SIMPLY NOT ACCEPTABLE ... IT'S BEEN 17 MONTHS ALREADY!! IS THERE AN ALTERNATIVE WAY TO GET REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS??

THE DASH LIGHTS WOULD BLINK INTERMEDIATELY AND IF THE TRUCK WAS TURNED OFF WHILE THAT IS HAPPENING, THE ENGINE IMMOBILIZER WOULD ENGAGE AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT START. I DROVE THE TRUCK THIS WAY FOR A WHILE AND JUST LET IT RUN AND NOT SHUT IT OFF. FORD DIDN;T KNOW WHAT WAS CAUSING IT. EVENTUALLY I FOUND OUT THAT THE WIRING HARNESS THAT CAME TOGETHER IN A Y SHAPE, AND WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SECURELY TAPED ONLY HAD ONE STRAND OF TAPE WRAPPED AROUND THE WIRES. THE METAL, WHERE THE WIRES WENT THROUGH HAD RUBBED THROUGH THE ONE STRAND OF ELECTRICAL TAPE AND INTO ONE OF THE WIRES OCCASIONALLY SHORTING IT OUT, THUS SETTING OFF THE ENGINE IMMOBILIZER. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW SO IT HAD TO HAVE CAME FROM THE FACTORY THAT WAY. IT HAD LESS THAN 50 THOUSAND MILES WHEN IT STARTED AND YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WAS GOING TO DO IT, SITTING, DRIVING, CITY, HIGHWAY, BUT USUALLY ALWAYS RUNNING, UNLESS IT WAS SHUT OFF WHILE IT WAS DOING IT AND THEN TRIED STARTING IT AGAIN. IT WOULD NOT CRANK OVER , JUST LIKE THERE WAS NO BATTERY IN IT. IT WAS MY FIRST NEW VEHICLE AND WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. THE TRUCK WAS WIRED FOR FOG LIGHTS BUT NO LIGHTS THEMSELVES IN IT, JUST PLASTIC COVERS. THE SHORT WAS ON THE FOG LIGHT WIRE WHERE THE WIRES WENT THROUGH THE FRONT METAL PANNEL THE RADIATOR WAS BOLTED ON. I WROTE IN BEFORE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS BUT HAD NOT FOUND OUT WHAT IT WAS THEN. FORD SAID IT MAY BE THE CLUSTER, BUT IT WASN'T. THEY ALSO SAID THEY DIDNT KNOW FOR SURE WHAT IT WAS. IT WENT ON LAST YEAR TILL I FIXED IT THIS YEAR WITH A ROLL OF ELECTRICAL TAPE THAT FORD WAS EITHER TOO CHEAP TO USE OR POOR WORKMANSHIP. IT STARTED LAST YEAR AND TOOK ME TILL THIS YEAR TO FIX IT.

I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 16S26/NHTSA RECALL 16V-384 FROM THE FORD MOTOR CO.IN JULY 2016 THAT THEIR WAS A RECALL ON THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIR BAG INFLATOR AND IT MAY RUPTURE IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH NECESSITATING AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. IN THE RECALL NOTICE IT SAID THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME AND WHEN THEY WERE AVAILABLE THEY WOULD NOTIFY ME VIA MAIL. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE MANY TIMES AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS AND THAT FORD WILL NOTIFY ME WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE. I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR CO, CUSTOMERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT BY PHONE AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING, WHEN THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE THEY WILL NOTIFY ME. IT IS NOW OCTOBER 2017 AND STILL HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

**TAKATA RECALL** #16V384 MANUFACTURER RECALL #16-S26 I WAS FIRST NOTIFIED OF THIS RECALL IN JULY 2016. I HAVE MADE TWO PHONE CALLS TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER TO SEE WHEN I COULD EXPECT TO HAVE THIS FIXED. I WAS FIRST TOLD BY END OF DECEMBER 2016, AND AM NOW TOLD THAT IT MAY BE MARCH 2017 OR LATER. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. MY HEIRS WILL OWN FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND TAKATA IF I HAVE THE MISFORTUNE TO BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND AM KILLED AS A RESULT OF THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG CURRENTLY INSTALLED IN MY VEHICLE. IT IS RIDICULOUS FOR THESE PARTS TO STILL BE UNAVAILABLE 7 MONTHS AFTER NOTIFICATION OF THIS RECALL. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS IMMEDIATELY AND USE ANY AND ALL ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITY YOU HAVE TO ENSURE THESE REPAIRS ARE MADE WITHIN THE NEXT 60 DAYS.
