BODY MOUNTS AT THE REAR CORNERS OF THE SUBFRAME WHICH SUPPORTS THE ENGINE AND THE TRANSMISSION HAVE DETACHED DUE TO CORROSION. CONSUMER ALSO STATES THAT VEHCILE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL NUMBER 93V106002. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON THE 23 OF FEBRUARY, 99 REGARDING REAR SUB-FRAME MOUNTS MALFUNCTIONING. HE MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER THREE TIMES. AFTER THE THIRD TIME THE DEALER INFORMED OWNER THE THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. *AK
EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE FAILURE OF BRAKES WHEN STOPPING AT AN INTERSECTION. BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR WITH CAR FAILING TO STOP. BRAKES LATER REACTIVATED AS CAR WAS BACKED UP. THERE WAS NO LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID. DEALER REPAIRED BRAKES BY REPLACING MASTER CYLINDER ,BUT WAS UNABLE TO EXPLAIN WHY THERE WAS A COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE BRAKES AND THE FACT THAT THE BRAKES LATER REACTIVATED. *ASK

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE ENGINE WILL SPORADICALLY ACCELERATE. IF THE VEHICLE IS AT A LIGHT IT WILL TAKE OFF AT A SPEED OF 35 TO 40MPH. DLR HAS NOT SEEN VEHICLE. *AK
MIDAS MUFFLER AND BRAKE COMPANY HAS TAKEN CARE OF MY BRAKES FOR YEARS. THE TAURUS SEEMS TO EAT BRAKES. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, ONCE SET, DOES NOT RELEASE WHEN YOU PULL THE LEVER. LAST MONTH I PARKED ON A HILL AND SET THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, HOPING THAT IT WOULD TRULY RELEASE WHEN I PULLED THE LEVER. IT DID NOT. AFTER A MILE OR SO OF DRIVING, I SAW SMOKE AND SMELLED BURNING PLASTIC. MY LEFT REAR WHEEL COVER MELTED FROM THE FRICTION OF THE UN-RELEASED EMERGENCY BRAKE. MIDAS DISABLED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE FOR ME WHEN I GOT BACK TO MY NEIGHBORHOOD. I AM NOW DRIVING WITHOUT AN EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE STICKS QUITE CONSISTENTLY AND I ALWAYS END UP GOING TO MIDAS TO GET IT RELEASED. THIS PAST AUGUST WAS THE WORST EPISODE.
THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER FLEW OUT OF THE SOCKET LANDING INSIDE THE VEHICLE CREATING THE POSSIBILITY FOR VEHICLE COMPARTMENT FIRE. DEALER HAS NOT SEEN. *AL
