WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE IT MAKES A POPPING SOUND. *ET
POWER STEERING IS LOST AND BATTERY-WARNING LIGHT COMES ON FOR ABOUT 5 TO 10 SECONDS WHENEVER I DRIVE THROUGH A PUDDLE MORE THAN ABOUT AN INCH DEEP. FORD SEEMS TO BE AWARE THAT THIS IS A DEFECT (THEY SAID THE PART REPLACEMENT WAS MANDATORY AND COVERED BY WARRANTY), BUT THE DEALERSHIP STILL WANTS ME TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR --AT THE HEIGHT OF SOUTH FLORIDA'S RAINY SEASON-- FOR ANOTHER WEEK WHILE A PART IS ON ORDER FOR THE REPAIR. THEY DON'T SEEM TO APPRECIATE HOW DANGEROUS IT IS TO DRIVE WITH INTERMITTENT LOSS OF POWER STEERING (IF THEY DID, THEY WOULD USE A FASTER METHOD TO SHIP THE REPLACEMENT PART).
FAULTY WIRING IN THE HARNESS CAUSING THE DOOR ADJAR LIGHT TO REMAIN ON WHEN TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE 80 DEGREES AND MALFUNCTIONING OF THE POWER DOOR LOCKS MECHANISM. MJS
WIPERS AND FLUID WORK INTERMITTENTLY. HAVE BEEN TO DEALER AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. IT'S OBVIOUS WHEN IT RAINS AND WOULD CONSIDER IT A SAFETY HAZARD. PLEASE HELP!

THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON WHEN THE WEATHER IS WARM. THIS CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON, AND THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK WHEN USING THE POWER LOCK BUTTON WHEN THIS OCCURS.

THE ENGINE OFTEN STALLS DURING A HEAVY RAIN OR AFTER RUNNING THROUGH PUDDLES OF WATER. THE DEALER TOLD ME IT NEDED A "REVISED AIR CLEANER". IF I UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM CORRECTLY WATER IS SUCKED UP THROUGH THE AIR CLEANER CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STALL. THE REVISED AIR CLEANER IS A DIFFERENT DESIGN WHICH PREVENTS THIS FROM HAPPENING. *AK

POOR SIGHT SIDE VISION FROM THE HEADLIGHTS. IF HAVING TO MAKE A SHARP TRUN DRIVER CANNOT SEE THE ROAD TO THE SIDE. PROBLEM WAS BROUGHT TO THE MANUFACTURER'S ATTENTION. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
WHEN THE CONSUMER STARTS THE VEHICLE THE TRANSMISSION RACES IN GEARS (AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL) THE SHIFT HARSHLY INTO GEAR.

WHILE DRIVING A RUBBING NOISE OCCURRED DUE TO THE TORSION BAR FAILURE. DEALER IS REWELDING THE TORSION BAR. *AK
DOOR LOCKS WOULD NOT LOCK AND DOORS OPEN. WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON AFTER EXITING VEHICLE. ALSO, THE INSIDE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON. DEALER HAS SEEN VEHICLE. FAILURES BECAME INCREASINGLY WORSE. *AK *ML
1. WINDSHIELD WIPERS DO NOT ALWAYS OPERATE AT THE RATE SELECTED. THEY OPERATE AT A LOWER RATE THAN SELECTED. 2. THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LIGHT SWITCH DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL NOT TURN OFF FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WILL NOT REMAIN LOCKED DURING THIS SWITCH FAILURE WITH THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND/OR THE ENGINE RUNNING.
WHEN APPLYING THE GAS AND GOING DOWN HILL, TRANSMISSION MAKES A JERK FORWARD AND A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE. THE CLUNKING AND JERKING HAS BECOME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. DEALER HAS SEEN THE VEHICLE, BUT DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO CORRECT IT. *AK *ML
CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR,I ORDERED A NEW ONE AWHILE BACK AND 4 COMP WERE OUT OF THEM. I THOUGHT IT WAS ODD,SO I ASSUMED THAT MAYBE THERE WOULD BE A DEFECT WITH THEM. *AK
WHENEVER WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE IN USE THEY WOULD WORK ERRACTICALLY. SOMETIMES NOT AT ALL. THIS CAUSES POOR VISIBILITY FOR THE DRIVER. THE SWITCH CAN TURN WIPERS ON & THEN WIPERS WOULD STOP. ALSO, TRANSMISSION FAILED TO SHIFT INTO GEAR PROPERLY, AND POWER STEERING FAILED TO WORK PROPERLY WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL. TAKING VEHICLE DEALER TO CHECK OUT PROBLEMS. *AK

WHILE DRIVING EITHER IN RAIN OR OVER A PUDDLE OF WATER AND MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN , WATER WILL GET INTO THE SERPENTINE BELT, CAUSING LOSS OF POWER STEERING FOR ABOUT 30-60 SECONDS . THERE IS NO GUARD OR SHIELD TO PROTECT BELTS FROM GETTING WET. FORD CLAIMS THEY CANNOT FIX DEFECT. *AK *ML

REAR MOTOR MOUNTS ARE WORN OUT. BUT UNDER WARRANTY, AND DEALER WILL NOT REPLACE MOUNTS UNTIL THEY BREAK. *AK OWNER WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF OTHER VEHICLES OF THE SAME MAKE OR MODELS HAVE PEMATURE BREAKDOWN OF MOTOR MOUNTS. *YH

WHEN WE FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR WE DISCOVER SHORTLY AFTER IT HAD BEEN BADLY RECKED THEY DID NOT TELL US TOOK IT TO A BODY SHOP AND THEY HAD A WHOLE NEW FRONT END ON SEVERAL PEICES OF GLASS WAS STILL IN THE CAR HAS HAD A POPPING NIOSE SINCE WE BOUGHT IT THEY KEEP SAYING THEY DONT HEAR IT THEY KEPT IT SO LONG EACH TIME WE TOOK IT TO THEM WE HAD A ENGINE PUT IN IT AFTER NOT EVEN A YEAR HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS AND THERE IS NO WARRANTY SO WE PAY FOR EVERY THING BUT IT HAS BEEN A LEMON EVER SINCE WE BOUGHT IT THE CAR LOT TRIED TO SAY THEY DIDNT KNOW IT HAD BEEN VERY BADLY WRECKED DIDNT TAKE ANY OFF THE PRICE AFTER WE FOUND OUT AND THE DOOR DOONT EVEN LINE UP RIGHT.
WHEN SUN HITS VEHICLE OR EVEN WHEN TEMPERATURE IS HOT AT NIGHT, INTERIOR LIGHTS AND DOOR AJAR LIGHT COME ON. LIGHTS STAY ON FOR AN HOUR OR MORE BEFORE GOING OUT. THIS CAUSES POOR DRIVER'S VISIBILITY WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. DEALERSHIP WAS NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT WAS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM.

MY AUNT JUST BOUGHT 4 NEW TIRES FOR HER TAURUS IN AUGUST ,2000 AND THE WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS SHE WAS GOING TO HER MOTHERS DOWN THE STREET ABOUT 3 BLOCKS . HER BACK TIRE AND THE FROUNT TIRE BLEW OUT .
