CONSUMER STATE WHILE TRAVELING NOTICE VEHICLE KICKING INTO ONE GEAR THEN INTO ANOTHER WITHOUT ANY INDICATION. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND STATED SPEED SENSOR NEED TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHR INFORMATION.
CONSUMER IS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE ACCELERATION, AND SAYS AT TIMES IT SEEMS TO ACCELERATE WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO STOP OR SLOW DOWN, AND THEN WHEN THE BRAKE ARE APPLIED THE VEHICLE DOES NOT STOP PROPERLY. THE CONSUMERS HUSBAND WAS ADVISED BY THE DEALER TO REPLACE THE IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE, HOWEVER THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM, CONSUMER FEELS THAT THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS AND POSSIBLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.*SCC *TS

BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. HAD THE SAME PROBLEM SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE. HAD TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP EACH TIME FOR ACCELERATING AND NOTHING WAS FOUND WRONG WITH TRANSMISSION. TS
CONSUMER NOTICE ONCE PLACING KEY IN IGNITION SWITCH, IGNITION SWITCH WOULD NOT TURN OR STEERING WHEEL. DEALER WAS CONTACTED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. PH

WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS MALFUNCTIONED. THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR WAS REPLACED AND NOW THE WIPERS COME ON BY THEMSELVES. *NLM *NLM
THE FRONT SPRINGS BROKE, WHICH CAUSED THE TIRE TO BLOW OUT. *JB
THE SEAT BELT DID NOT RETRACT PROPERLY. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED.*NLM THE SEAT BELT AND RETRACTOR WAS REPLACED ON APRIL 19, 2001, HOWEVER IT FAILED, AT 59986 THE SEAT BELT AND RETRACTOR FAILED AGAIN. THE DEALER INFORMED CONSUMER THE RETRACTOR COULD BREAK EASILY IF THE SEAT BELT WAS PULLED TOO FAST. *JB
WHILE DRIVING, THE CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD BANG AND THE LEFT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE DROPPED. CONSUMER STATED THE SPRINGS WHICH SUPPORTED THE FRONT END BROKE. *JB
WHILE DRIVING THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE WAS PUNCTURED, DUE TO A BROKEN COIL SPRING. *TT
HEATER CORE WAS PREVIOUSLY LEAKING AND WAS REPLACED IN 08/02. HEATER CORE IS NOW LEAKING AGAIN CAUSING FUMES TO ENTER PASSENGER CABIN.*AK
VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. ALSO, TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY. *AK

CONSUMER BEGAN TO SMELL GAS FUMES, TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND DEALER STATED THAT THE SMELL WOULD FADE AWAY. *AK

CONSUMER STATES THAT FRONT TIRE BEGAN TO COME APART, DUE TO THE TREAD TARING OFF. CAUSE IS UNKNOWN. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.

THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT 50,000 MILES. THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION LEAKED FLUID FROM THE HUB SEAL. *AK

COOLANT SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE FLUSHED OUT ON A YEARLY BASIS. IF NOT FLUSHED, WOULD HAVE SLUDGE BUILD UP IN THE HEATER CORE. AS A RESULT, HEATER CORE WOULD BECOME PLUGGED AND WOULD NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. *AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE STALLED. AFTER INSPECTION CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK

VEHICLE IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL. IT IS NOT WORKING. THE SPEEDOMETER ISN'T READING IT CORRECTLY. VEHICLE IS ALSO HAVING A PROBLEM WITH ACCELERATION. WHEN IT OCCURS, THE DRIVER SHUT DOWN THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 10 MINS. WHEN VEHICLE IS RE-STARTED EVERYTHING BEGINS TO WORK AGAIN. PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *NM
RACK AND PINION HAD TO BE REPLACED SO CONSUMER REQUEST AND INVESTIGATION INTO THE DESIGN FLAW OF THE 1999 AND 2000 FORD TAURUS. *PH *MR
VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED FROM A STOP POSITION. INTERMITTENTLY THIS FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING. ON ONE OCCASION, WHEN THIS FAILURE OCCURRED, IT RESULTED IN CONSUMER'S VEHICLE BEING REAR ENDED. DEALERSHIP SERVICED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES, AND PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, IN WHICH NO FAILURE CODE WAS FOUND. BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. *AK
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING ON FREEWAY AND TRANSMISSION FAILED. CONSUMER COASTED TO A STOP. CONSUMER HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP, AND MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE DRIVER NOTICED THAT THE ABS WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND REMAINED ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *NM *NM
