THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE SEAT BELT WAS ABLE TO BE SECURED BUT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO RELEASE. THE CONTACT HAD TO MAKE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT BUCKLE TO RELEASE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. CAR ACCIDENT -- DEER HIT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE -- DAMAGE TO HOOD, LIGHT, SMALL BAR INSIDE HOOD. AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS INFORMED THAT AIR BAGS DO NOT DEPLOY ON ALL ACCIDENTS. CAR WAS TOTALED DUE TO AGE AND MILEAGE ON VEHICLE, BUT IT RAN WELL. HAD ALL OF THE FRONT END LOOKED AT TO BE SURE THAT I COULD STILL OPERATE IT, SO KEPT THE VEHICLE. FEB. 10, 2014 I HAD GOTTEN AN OIL CHANGE AT WALMART. ALSO HAD ADDED COOLANT. I NOTICED ON THE WEDNESDAY (2/12) THAT THE CAR HAD SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD WHEN I PARKED THE VEHICLE AT THE SAME WALMART. TOOK IT BACK TO THE AUTOMOTIVE DEPARTMENT THE COOLANT LEVEL WAS COMPLETELY GONE AND HAD TO TAKE IT TO AN INDEPENDENT BUSINESS TO HAVE A NUMBER OF ITEMS REPLACED - WATER PUMP, OIL GASKET PAN, NEW OIL AND COOLANT ADDED AND A FEW OTHER THINGS. WAS TOLD BY THE INDEPENDENT THAT WALMART SHOULD HAVE INFORMED ME WHEN I HAD GOTTEN THE OIL CHANGE THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. ALSO DEC. 31ST, I HAD TWO TIE RODS INSTALLED (OUTER IF I RECALL CORRECTLY), THEN I HAPPEN TO NOTICE ON MARCH 13TH MY FRONT TIRES SEEMED LOW. WENT IN AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TWO NEW TIRES AND SUGGESTED A WHEEL ALIGNMENT (WHICH THIS COMPANY DID NOT DO). TOOK IT TO A TIRE COMPANY AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT A BALL JOINT AND ONE INNER TIE ROD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FEBRUARY AND MARCH INCIDENTS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS OUT OF TOWN (FATHER IN HOSPICE AND DEATH). *TR
I WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT UNTO THE STREET, AND ANOTHER VEHICLE CAME SPEEDING DOWN THE ROAD AND DIDN'T BLOW HER HORN OR SLOW DOWN WHEN SHE SAW ME, AND COLLIDED INTO MY VEHICLE. THE IMPACT OF THE OTHER VEHICLE PUSHED MY CAR OUT INTO THE MIDDLE OF HE STREET. I HAD MY SEAT BELT ON. I HAD PASSENGER IN CAR WITH ME. THEY HAD THERE SEATBELT ON TOO. NEITHER AIR BAGS OPENED. AFTER THE ACCIDENT, I HAD TO GO TO MISS WORK BECAUSE MY BACK WAS HURTING SO BAD. THE VERY NEXT DAY I GOT A RIDE TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM BECAUSE MY BACK WAS HURTING SO SEVERELY. THE DR. DIAGNOSED ME WITH CHRONIC BACK PAIN WHICH WAS DUE FROM ACCIDENT. I WAS PRESCRIBED 2 TYPES OF MEDICATION TO TAKE, AND DR. SAID I MAY HAVE TO SEE A SPECIALIST IF NO IMPROVEMENT. I HAVE DR REPORT AND ACCIDENT REPORT UPON REQUEST. I AM STILL IN PAIN. *TR

I NOTICED THAT MY AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AND BLINKING. I TOOK IT TO MY FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO, IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM, AND TOTALLY NOT FIXABLE. I WAS TOLD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON. I DID THIS, AND EACH TIME THE CAR STALLED. I FINALLY WENT ONLINE TO SEE WHAT THE LIGHT WAS ABOUT AND IT SEEMS THAT THE AIRBAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY ON IMPACT. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM THIS AND ASK THEM TO LOOK INTO IT. ONCE AGAIN, THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I WAS TOLD TO JUST NOT GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. I FINALLY GOT RID OF THE CAR DUE TO THE LACK OF SAFETY WHEN THE CAR WAS HAD 145,038 MILES. *TR
THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT CANNOT BE PULLED OUT, THEREFORE, I CANNOT USE IT AT ALL. NOT ONLY IS THIS UNSAFE, BUT WITH MANDATORY SEAT BELT LAWS IN SOME STATES, I MUST GET THIS REPAIRED.

AS THE VEHICLE WAS BACKED OUT AND TO THE LEFT AT 5 MPH, THE 4 YEAR OLD CHILD WAS THROWN OUT THE REAR RIGHT DOOR. THE CHILD BECAME PINNED UNDER THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL OF THE VEHICLE, AND SUSTAINED ABRASIONS AND SWELLING OF THE ANKLES, KNEES, AND LEFT THIGH. THE CHILD WAS TAKEN TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE BOOSTER SEAT AND VEHICLE WERE NOT NOTIFIED.

THE CONTACT ARRIVED TO A DESTINATION, PARKED, AND ATTEMPTED TO UNLATCH THE SEAT BELT WHICH WOULD NOT UNLATCH. THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE TONGUE WAS WIGGLED WHILE THE RELEASE BUTTON ON THE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY WAS DEPRESSED. THE SEAT BELT UNLATCHED AFTER 10 MINUTES, BUT IS NOW UNABLE TO BUCKLE. THE BUCKLE WAS FREE OF CONTAMINANTS AND THERE ARE NO PICTURES AVAILABLE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED ON 07/21/06 AND DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL ON THE SAME PROBLEM FOR THE SAME VEHICLE.
