TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT HARD WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE VIOLENTLY WHEN ENGAGING IN GEAR AND ACCELERATING OVER 65 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS HOWEVER, THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RESPONDING TO HER SPECIFIC DRIVING HABITS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND SENT AN ENGINEER TO FURTHER INSPECT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 19,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,700.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE COULD TURN OFF THE IGNITION EVEN IF THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SHIFTED INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING UP TO STANDARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER ABNORMALLY. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR WHILE ATTEMPTING A TURN AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ABNORMALLY SLOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE, WHO ADVISED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,756. UPDATED 05/31/12*LJ
WHEN STARTING OFF FROM TRAFFIC LIGHT THE CAR WOULD START TO MOVE AND THEN ALMOST SHUT DOWN. ANOTHER TIME I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND WHEN I STARTED OUT IT WAS LIKE SOMEONE SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES. THE SEAT BELT TIGHTENED VERY HARD ON MY NECK.

WHILE TRAVELING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO ACCELERATE HOWEVER , ONCE THE VEHICLE SPEED REACHED 60 MPH, THE FAILURE WOULD CORRECT ITSELF AND THE VEHICLE WOULD DRIVE NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 22,000.
OUR TAURUS BRAKES SQUEAK LOUDLY IN EITHER FORWARD OR REVERSE. THEY ALSO GRIND WHEN COMING TO A MODERATE STOP. HAVE TAKEN TO DEALER 4 TIMES AND EVEN HAVE A CUSTOMER CASE NUMBER WITH FORD. IT SOUNDS LIKE A 72 PINTO WITH 200,000 MILES ON IT; NOT A BRAND NEW CAR! FORD DEALER HEARD THE NOISE BUT WAS TOLD BY FORD THAT THIS IS "NORMAL" ON THIS MODEL. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR AND EVEN MORE FEARFUL TO LET MY TWO TEENAGE DRIVER GET BEHIND THE WHEEL OF THIS CAR FOR FEAR SOMETHING MAY HAPPEN WHILE THEY ARE DRIVING IT. FORD DOES NOT SEEM TO CAR. I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL FORD CUSTOMER FOR YEARS AND HAVE PURCHASED AT LEAST 5 NEW FORDS IN THE LAST 10 YEARS. I'M GOING TO HAVE TO RETHINK THAT DECISION. NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE OR EVEN WANTS TO LOOK FARTHER INTO THIS EVEN THOUGH THE DEALER HAS HEARD AND VERIFIED THE NOISE. THEY STILL CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN THAT THIS NOISE IS "NORMAL". *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH IN RAINY WEATHER, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT THE BRAKES WOULD NOT RESPOND. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY APPLYING EXTREME PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL AND APPLYING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIANS STATED WATER HAD ENTERED THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND CAUSED THE FAILURE BUT NO REPAIR WAS NECESSARY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.
JUST HOURS AFTER ROUTINE OIL AND FILTER CHANGE, I PULLED OUT ONTO THE HIGHWAY, ACCELERATING TO ACCESS THE ROADWAY AT A REASONABLE SPEED OF TRAFFIC. THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SLOW, AND THEN STOPPED COMPLETELY.....NO POWER, NOTHING!!!! I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED AND CATAPULTED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE DEALERSHIP WAS CONTACTED AND BROUGHT THE CAR IN, WHERE THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN WAS CAUSED BY AN INSECT THAT "GOT THRU" THE SCREEN ON THE AIR FILTER VALVE(?) AND ATTACHED ITSELF TO THE FILAMENT THAT READS AND ADJUSTS THE AIR/GAS MIX. THE SYSTEM COULDN'T READ IT AND THE ENGINE "AUTOMATICALLY SHUT DOWN". THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK....HOW CAN AN ENGINE BE SHUT DOWN BY AN INSECT, REGARDLESS OF AUTO SPEED, LOCATION ETC ETC ETC. ANY "AUTOMATIC" ENGINE SHUTDOWN IS AN INEXCUSABLE DESIGN FLAW AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED BEFORE THERE IS A FATALITY....IT WAS ALMOST MY FATALITY. THE SERVICE MANAGER ALSO SAID THIS WAS "ONLY THE SECOND TIME" HE HAD SEEN THIS PROBLEM IN THE TAURUS.
RENTED A 2011 FORD TAURUS IN MAUI; DRIVING BACK FROM HANA AFTER DARK, WE COULDN'T SEE THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD BECAUSE OF THE HEADLIGHTS, WHICH APPEARED TO BE SEVERELY OUT OF ADJUSTMENT --- THEY AIMED LEFT. THE ROAD IS NARROW, SO WE SLOWED TO 25MPH, +/-; WE HIT THE END OF A BROKEN CURB, DESTROYING THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE. THE RENTAL COMPANY IS HITTING US $800 FOR A $400 FACTORY MAG WHEEL, PLUS A NEW TIRE. WE COULD HAVE QUITE EASILY GONE OVER THE EDGE INTO THE OCEAN, CONSIDERING WE COULDN'T SEE THE EDGE OF THE ROAD; SOMEBODY DRIVING A 2011 TAURUS SOUTHBOUND ON CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY 1 AFTER DARK WOULD BE PUTTING THEIR LIFE IN JEOPARDY. *TR
TRANSMISSION SLIPS OUT OF GEAR WHILE DRIVING AND SOMETIMES WHILE STOPPED. REAR BACKUP CAMERA COMES ON WHILE DRIVING FORWARD AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. FORD HAS ISSUED TSB BUT MY DEALER WAS UNAWARE OF IT AND DID NOT REPAIR UNTIL I TOOK THEM A COPY OF THE TSB 10-21-2. VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. SOMEBODY IS GOING TO GET HURT. I FOUND INFO ON TSB THROUGH OWNER MESSAGE BOARDS SO IT'S NOT AN ISOLATED PROBLEM. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN ON THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS IN ORDER TO REGAIN VISIBILITY. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY EXPERIENCE A FAILURE IN WHICH IT SURGED FORWARD MOMENTARILY. I PURCHASED A NEW 2011 TAURUS SEL A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. ONE DAY WHILE DRIVING INTO A PARKING LOT, THE CAR ACCELERATED FULL SPEED ON ITS OWN HEAD ON INTO A WALL AND WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED ($11,000+ IN DAMAGES - THE DRIVER AIRBAG DEPLOYED BUT I WAS NOT INJURED). THE INSURANCE COMPANY DID NOT TOTAL THE CAR AND IT WAS REPAIRED. THE CAUSE FOR THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WAS NEVER DETERMINED. THIS PAST WEEKEND MY BROTHER WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND ALMOST GOT INVOLVED IN A SIMILAR INCIDENT. HE WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT IN THE TAURUS. HE FELT A STRANGE RUMBLING THAT FELT LIKE IT WAS COMING FROM UNDERNEATH HIM. HE WASN'T EVEN SURE IT WAS THE CAR SO HE TOOK HIS FOOT OFF THE BRAKE SLIGHTLY TO SEE IF THE RUMBLING WOULD STOP. AS SOON AS HE TOOK HIS FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, THE RPM GAUGE SHOT UP TO 7,000 AND THE CAR TOOK OFF. HE SLAMMED HIS FOOT BACK DOWN ON THE BRAKE AND THE CAR STOPPED BUT THE RPM GAUGE WAS STILL AT 7,000 AND THE ENGINE WAS RACING. WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RACING (WITH NORMAL PRESSURE APPLIED TO THE BRAKE THE CAR DID NOT MOVE EVEN THOUGH THE ENGINE WAS RACING) HE TOOK A GLANCE DOWN AT THE GAS PEDAL AND NOTHING WAS PRESSING DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL...NO FEET, NO TRAPPED FLOOR MATS. HE SHIFTED TO PARK, THE ENGINE CALMED DOWN AND IT WAS LIKE NOTHING EVER HAPPENED. IT DROVE NORMALLY AGAIN. THE CAR IS GOING BACK TO A FORD DEALER FOR INSPECTION BUT THERE IS CLEARLY A POTENTIALLY FATAL MANUFACTURER DEFECT IN THIS VEHICLE. *TR
ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS OF THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WITHOUT ANY WARNING AND BRAKING WAS LIMITED. THE ONLY THING THAT REMAINED ON WAS THE ENGINE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY IN THE LEFT LANE. TRAFFIC CAUSED ME TO BRAKE HARD AND TURN THE WHEEL SLIGHTLY TO AVOID COLLISION. MOMENTS LATER, I GET A LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING. WHEN I EXIT TO A GAS STATION, THE TIRE HAS BECOME COMPLETELY FLAT AND IS OFF THE RIM. IT IS THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE. THE TIRE THAT RECEIVED THE MOST FORCE FROM BRAKING. IT APPEARS THE FORCE CAUSED A BREAK IN THE SEAL WITH THE RIM. SUBSEQUENTLY THE TIRE AND POSSIBLY THE RIM WERE DAMAGED. THE CAR IS A 2011 TAURUS WITH 700 MILES ON IT. THE DEALERSHIP IS ALREADY TAKING THE POSITION THAT THIS SCENARIO COULD NOT HAPPEN UNLESS THE TIRE WAS ALREADY LOW ON PRESSURE SUCH AS FROM A PUNCTURE. I AM STATING THE TIRE WAS NOT LOW ON PRESSURE BEFORE THE BRAKING INCIDENT. THERE WAS NO LOW PRESSURE INDICATION UNTIL IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE BRAKING INCIDENT. *KB
THE START ENGINE BUTTON CUTS THE ENGINE OFF IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY HIT IT. IT IS RIGHT BESIDE THE RADIO ON/OFF BUTTON SO IS VERY EASY TO HIT BY MISTAKE. IF YOU ARE DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE AND ACCIDENTALLY HIT IT YOU ARE LEFT WITH NO ENGINE POWER, NO POWER BRAKES AND NO POWER STEERING. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED. I HAVE WRITTEN FORD A COUPLE OF TIMES AND HAVE GOTTEN NO RESPONSE EXCEPT TO TELL MY LOCAL DEALER. IT'S NOT A DEALER PROBLEM. THE BUTTON SHOULD HAVE SOME TYPE OF COVER OVER IT. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US WHILE DRIVING - LUCKILY WERE ABLE TO PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL AND RESTART ENGINE. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD TAURUS LIMITED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, HER HAND ERRONEOUSLY BRUSHED ACROSS THE PUSH TO START BUTTON, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED WITHIN SECONDS AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED AS IT WAS AND COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY INFORMED HER THAT THEY WERE LOOKING INTO REDESIGNING THE PUSH TO START BUTTON. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5,000.
2011 FORD TAURUS. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TRANSMISSION ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 15 TIMES, FOR THE SAME TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND HARSH SHIFTING ISSUE.
TL* WHILE DRIVING A 2011 FORD TAURUS RENTAL VEHICLE THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUN REFLECTED OVER HIS LEFT SHOULDER AND GLARED OVER THE METAL PART OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE THE GAUGES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THEY WOULD RETURN HIS PHONE CALL. THEY OFFERED NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000.
2011 FORD TAURUS HEADLIGHTS DO NOT PROJECT, HAVE DARK SPOTS, CAN'T SEE PROPERLY. HAVE RETURNED TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. THEY HAVE ADJUSTED AND APPARENTLY DONE ALL THEY KNOW TO DO. IT IS STILL NOT CORRECT. IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE LATE @ NIGHT. WE HAVE OWNED AND DRIVEN MANY DIFFERENT FORDS ALL OUR LIFE, SPECIFICALLY A 1994 TAURUS AND DIDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM. IT IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN THERE ARE NO OTHER VEHICLES ON THE HIGHWAY. WITH ONE OF THE ADJUSTMENTS THERE WAS NO VISION TO THE SIDES OF THE ROAD. AFTER SEVERAL ADJUSTMENTS THE BEAMS STILL DO NOT PROJECT THE PROPER DISTANCE. IT SEEMS SOME KIND OF SHUTTER IS IN THE WAY. LOVE THE CAR AND WOULD REALLY LIKE A SOLUTION. HOPE THIS CAN BE RESOLVED BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED. THANKS *TR
I HAVE 2 PROBLEMS WITH ACCELERATION. ONE IS FROM A STOP. THE CAR DOESN'T ACCELERATE FOR A SECOND OR TWO WHEN STEPPING ON GAS. THIS HAS HAPPENED A COUPLE TIMES. SECOND PROBLEM HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED ONLY ONCE SO FAR. WAS MERGING ON TO HIGHWAY SO I ACCELERATED, THEN LET QUICKLY LET OFF THE GAS TO CHECK TRAFFIC IN ANOTHER LANE TO PASS A CAR, THEN ACCELERATED AGAIN TO PASS CAR. DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC MERGING IN AND OUT, IT HAPPENED VERY QUICKLY. ONCE OUT IN THE PASSING LANE IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON THIS BUSY INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE FOR A COUPLE SECONDS. TRIED PUSHING ON THE GAS PEDAL A COUPLE TIMES WITH NO RESPONSE. CAR EVENTUALLY ACCELERATED. FELT LIKE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I FEEL BOTH INCIDENTS ARE A SAFETY CONCERN. WHEN THE CAR DOESN'T ACCELERATE WHEN YOU EXPECT IT TO, YOU ARE AT RISK IF TRAFFIC AROUND YOU CAN'T STOP IN TIME. TOOK CAR TO DEALER BUT WAS TOLD NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND AND THE LAG FELT FROM COMPUTER DELAY IS NORMAL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 11,500.
MY 2011 TAURUS SHO HAS 20 INCH RIMS AND AN ALL-WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM, BUT ONLY AFTER 20,000 I HAVE TO CHANGE MY TIRES BECAUSE THEY WEAR OFF IN THE INSIDE CORNERS ON ALL FOUR TIRES. IT IS LIKE IF THE WHEELS ARE SLIGHTLY SLANTED ANDTHEY WEAR OFF ONLY ON THAT AREA. FORD HAS KNOWLEDGE OF THIS SITUATION AND HAVE MADE ME TAKE THE CAR FOR ALIGNMENT, TIRE PRESSURE AND TIRE ROTATION EVERY 3,000 MILES, BUT THIS HAS NOT HELPED AT ALL. THE CAR HAS HAD 4 SET OF TIRES IN THE LAST 54,000 AND THEY INSIST IT IS NOT CAUSED BECAUSE OF CAR DEFFECTS. IF I AM NOT CONSTANTLY CHECKING THE TIRES BECAUSE I FEAR THAT I AM GOING TO GET AFLAT OR COULD EXPLODE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. PELASE HELP ME. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING POSSIBLE WITH THEM AND I AM IN THE PROCESS OF FILING A COMPLAINT AGAINST THEM, BUT ANYTHING THAT YOU CAN DO WILL BE DEEPLY APPRECIATED. *TR
ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, MY 2011 FORD TAURUS' ENGINE STOPPED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THIS HAPPENED ONCE IN REVERSE WHILE BACKING UP WITH 3300 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, AND TWICE WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 30-40 MPH. THE MOST RECENT STOPPAGES HAPPENED AFTER I WENT OVER A RAILROAD CROSSING; THUS RATTLING THE CAR AND ITS COMPONENTS. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ASKED THAT I BRING THE VEHICLE IN IMMEDIATELY. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A TSB REGARDING THIS PROBLEM (HOWEVER, THEY FAILED TO NOTIFY ME) AND PROCEEDED TO "FIX" IT, SAYING IT WAS A THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY DEFICIENCY. THE TSB # IS 7T4Z*9E926*FA. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE N.J. TPKE. AT HIGHWAY SPEED. I ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE PUSH BUTTON START BUTTON. THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND THE DASH SAID SHIFT INTO PARK. I COULD NOT RESTART THE CAR UNTIL I CAME TO A STOP, SHIFTED INTO PARK, BUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND PUSHED THE BUTTON. YOU CAN'T OPEN THE TRUNK WITHOUT THE TRANSMISSION BEING IN PARK, YET YOU CAN SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN JUST BY ACCIDENTALLY TOUCHING THIS BUTTON. NOT SAFE. *TR
I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE ADN AFTER ONLY 15,000 MILES I VISITED THE DEALER FOR A GRINDING SOUND ON THE BRAKES. FORD RECOMMENDED THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR REPAIR ON THE BRAKES BECAUSE THE PADS WERE ALMOST GONE AND I TOLD THEM THAT IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE I DO NOT BRAKE THAT MUCH SINCE I USE THE VEHICLE IN THE HIGHWAY MOST OF THE TIME. AFTER THE CAR WAS REPAIRED I HAD TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK FOR BRAKE REPAIR ONLY AFTER 4,000 ADDITIONAL MILES AND THEY TOLD ME THE BRAKES WERE FINE, BUT I TOLD THEM THAT THE BRAKES WERE FAILING BECAUSE THE I HAD DIFFICULTY BRAKING AND HAD TO PRESS THEM TOO HARD TO FULLY STOP. I HAVE ALMOST CRASHED A COUPLE OF TIMES, BUT I FEAR THAT IF I HAVE TO PERFORM AN EMERGENCY STOP WHILE THE BRAKES ARE HOT I WILL CRASH. I TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR A SECOND PROFESSIONALO OPINION AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE VEHICLE IS TOO HEAVY FOR THE BRAKING SYSTEM. IN ADDITION, FORD MODIFIED THE BRAKE SYSTEM IN 2013 MODELS AND ADDED 30% MORE BRAKING SPACE ON THEIR ROTORS. I BELIEVE THEY KNOW ABOUT THIS DEFECT AND HAVE IGNORED THIS SITUATION. THEY HAVE WORKED ON THE CAR MORE THAN SIX TIMES AND NOTHING. WHEN THE BRAKES GET HOT THE ROTORS GET "CRYSTALIZED" AND THEN A HUMMING GRINDING SOUND STARTS FOLLOWED BY "SPONGE LIKE FEELING" ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. I HAVE CHANGED THE PADS IN THREE OCCASIONS AND THE CAR HAS ONLY 54,000. I AM GOING TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE CONSUMER DEPARTMENT BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO TAKE THE CAR BACK. I EVEN HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW VEHICLE BECAUSE I FEAR FOR MY SAFETY AND MY PASSENGERS. PLEASE HELP ANY WAY YOU CAN. THESE PEOPLE ARE JUST RECKLESS. 2011 FORD TAURUS STALLS OUT AT HIGH SPEEDS OR LOW SPEEDS, ANYTIME FOOT IS NOT ON ACCELERATOR PEDAL, AND ONCE EVEN WHILE BACKING UP. FORD SERVICE SAYS THAT IT'S BECAUSE OF A DEFECTIVE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY, WHICH DOESN'T SET IDLE SPEED HIGH ENOUGH. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 10-21-6 FOR CODES P 2111 AND P 2112 WAS ISSUED ABOUT THIS. IT STARTED MAR 25, 2011, AT 5, 092 MILES, AND WAS REPAIRED AT 5,354 MILES. IT'S OCCURRED FIVE TIMES SINCE (ON MAR 29, 2011, AND JUNE 10, 2011). THIS HAS NEARLY CAUSED A REAR-END COLLISION. IT'S NOT SAFE. FORD SERVICE REPLACED DEFECTIVE PART, YET PROBLEM PERSISTS. MY VEHICLE GIVES NO WARNING, UNTIL I HAVE NO POWER WHEN I DEPRESS THE GAS. THE DASH LIGHTS UP "SHIFT TO PARK." IF I'M LUCKY, I CAN GET OFF THE ROAD TO RE-START, BUT TWICE I COULDN'T AND CAR WAS NEARLY REAR-ENDED. TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS HAVE EVALUATED THIS PROBLEM WITH NO SUCCESS. ONE FOUND FLUCTUATING IDLE SPEEDS, AND I'VE NOTICED THE RPMS ARE CHANGING WHEN I DON'T THINK THEY SHOULD BE. CAFE STANDARDS TO SAVE GAS WILL RESULT IN PEOPLE DYING TO SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT. THESE IDLE SPEEDS MUST BE SET HIGHER! THE LOW IDLE SPEEDS DO NOT WORK, AND THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD QUIT DICTATING ENGINEERING TO CAR COMPANIES TO SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT, WITHOUT ANY REGARD TO PEOPLE'S LIVES. *TR

THIS CAR AFTER SIX MONTHS OF AGE IT STARTED TO SHUT ITSELF OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON. DRIVING ALONG, IGNITION JUST TURNS OFF, A LIGHT SAYS SHIFT TO PARK. THE DEALER CAN NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. THE CAR HAS DID THIS FIVE TIMES AND DEALER PUT A DEVICE ON IT TO RECORD THIS "IF IT DOES IT AGAIN". MY 2001 TAURUS SES DURING COLD AND/OR SNOWY/RAINY MONTHS DOORS FREEZE UP CONSTANTLY. VERY DIFFICULT TO GET INTO CAR. WHEN I FINALLY MANAGE TO GET IN I HAVE TO DRIVE HOLDING ONTO THE DOOR BECAUSE IT WILL NOT RESHUT AS THE DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY BECOMES LODGED AND DOOR WILL NOT LATCH. I HAVE INSPECTED THE RUBBER AROUND DOOR AND IT LOOKS FINE. BUT I DO GO TREAT IT EVERY COLD SEASON IN HOPES THE DOOR WILL NOT RE-FREEZE BUT I HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL AS IT STILL IS HAPPENING. FINALLY AFTER CAR HAS BEEN HEATING UP FOR ABOUT 45 MIN. TO AN HOUR WITH HEATER ON FULL BLAST I AM THEN ABLE TO GET THE DOOR TO LATCH SHUT. WHEN THIS FIRST STARTED TO HAPPEN I WAS UNAWARE THAT DOOR WAS NOT LATCHED AND WHEN I WENT AROUND A CORNER GOING ABOUT 5 MILES AN HOUR THE DOOR FLEW OPEN. THIS STARTED TO HAPPEN IN 2010 AND HAS HAPPENED EVER SINCE AND IT IS NOW 2012. ALL 4 DOORS FREEZE UP BUT SINCE I DRIVE MAINLY ALONE IT IS THE DRIVER SIDE THAT HAS BECOME VERY ANNOYING AND HAZZARDOUS. THIS ISSUE HAS MADE ME LATE FOR WORK AND MANY OTHER APPOINTMENTS AS WELL. ONCE I HAD MY DAUGHTER AS A PASSENGER IN THE CAR AND THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FLEW OPEN AND SHE WENT TO GRAB IT AND THE DOOR WAS HEAVY AND IT PULLED HER WITH IT. THANK GOT SHE HAD HER SEAT BELT ON AND THAT I WAS STILL IN TOWN GOING SLOW. SOMETHING NEEDS DONE ABOUT THIS IMMEDIATLY. AS FAR AS DOOR LATCH, I CARRY A SCREW DRIVER IN THE CAR SO I CAN WORK AT THE LATCH LOCATED ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR. NEED SOMETHING OVER THE DOOR TO KEEP MOISTURE FROM SEEPING IN OR SOMETHING ON THESE CARS.
HEADLIGHTS DO NOT SHINE FAR ENOUGH AHEAD TO BE ABLE TO SEE ANYTHING THAT'S OVER 200 FEET AHEAD. ONLY WAY YOU CAN SEE FARTHER IS TO USE THE BRIGHT LIGHTS ALL THE TIME. YOU CANT SEE CURVES COMING UP OR DEER STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD NOTHING. THEY JUST DO NOT SHINE FAR ENOUGH IN FRONT OF THE CAR. THERE IS A BLACK LINE WHERE THE LIGHTS END LIKE SOMETHING IS BLOCKING THE TOP HALF OF THE LIGHT. VERY DANGEROUS
