MY WIFE WENT TO START THE CAR IN THE MALL PARKING LOT. NOTICED THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN AND A WARNING INDICATOR CAME ON ABOUT A STEERING PROBLEM. LEFT THE CAR IN THE LOT OVERNIGHT. I CAME BACK THE NEXT MORNING ~ STARTED IT AND STEERING WAS FINE. DROVE IT TO NEAREST FORD. I RESEARCHED AND FOUND THE SEVERAL PRIOR YEARS OF THIS MODEL ARE ON RECALL FOR STEERING ISSUES. FORD DEALER CALLED AND TOLD ME IT NEEDS $2636.14 OF REPAIR TO PRIMARILY INCLUDE $789.88 TO "DIAG & REPLACE STEERING GEAR, CLEAR CODES, CHECK & SET TOE FT & REAR (FOUND STEERING GEAR FAULTED, CODE U3000:49) AND $1,650.27 TO "STEERING GEAR (FOUND STEERING GEAR FAULTED, CODE U3000:49). THIS CAR IS NOT EVEN 5 YEARS OLD AND HAS 57,602 MILES ON IT. WE ARE VERY BLESSED THAT THE STEERING DID NOT GO OUT WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE BACK SEAT.
MY CAR WILL NOT START IT SEEMS LIKE IT IS OUT OF GAS BUT IT DOESN"T BE. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I GOT IT FROM AND THEY JUST TELL ME TO BUY BATTERIES. IT HAS DONE THIS AT LEAST 5 TIMES. ANOTHER FORD DEALERSHIP PUT A FUEL PUMP RELAY SWITCH ON AND IT DID IT AGAIN.WHEN IT DOES THIS IT IS PARKED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START WHEN PROMPTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IGNITION "CRANKED", BUT WOULD NOT START AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CAVALIER FORD (1515 SOUTH MILITARY HIGHWAY, CHESAPEAKE, VIRGINIA 23320, (757) 424-1111) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AS A POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 41,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH AND MAKING A U-TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A COMPLETE OF LOSS STEERING POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SERRAMONTE FORD OF COLMA (999 SERRAMONTE BLVD, COLMA, CALIFORNIA 94014, (650) 763-2400) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING RACK FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUTSIDE OF THE 60,000 MILE WARRANTY PROTECTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000. *TT CONSUMER STATES POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE DRIVING, DURING TURN WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN AND WARNING ON DASH IS ON STATING POWER STEERING FAULT. INSPECT AND ADVISE (STEERING RACK FAILURE) 2.2 CUSTOMER STATES REPLACE STEERING AS RECOMMENDED LINE A DIAGNOSTICS. CUSTOMER REQUEST TO PERFORM A 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT. INCLUDES TOE ADJUSTMENT. BACK UP CAMERA GOES OUT SOMETIMES
THE POWER STEERING ON THIS VEHICLE BEGAN TO WORK INTERMITTENTLY. THE POWER STEERING WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS WHEN IT WAS PARKED. BECAUSE OF THE IMPENDING DANGER OF LOSING POWER STEERING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED, I BROUGHT IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP IN MA . THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS "NEEDS EPAS GEAR REPLACED". TOTAL COST WAS $1,822.00. MUST ISSUE A RECALL DUE TO SAFETY ISSUES WITH MALFUNCTIONING EPAS GEAR. THE 3 PRIOR YEARS' MODELS HAD A RECALL. WHY NOT THIS YEAR'S MODEL? DONT WAIT FOR INJURY OR DEATH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD TAURUS. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REVERSE FROM A PARKING SPACE, THE STEERING ABILITY OF THE VEHICLE BECAME VERY DIFFICULT AND SEIZED. IN ADDITION, THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEM AND POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (AUTONATION FORD ORANGE PARK FLORIDA, 7700 BLANDING BLVD., JACKSONVILLE, FL 32244, (904) 270-9943) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEM MODULE AND POWER STEERING MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,500.
PARKING BRAKE FAILURE. IT RELEASED BUT STOPPED WORKING. DASH LIGHT CONTINUED TO DING AND SAY IT WAS ENGAGED. NEED TO REPLACE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM AT 27,500 MILES BUT 1 YEAR OVER COVERAGE. THIS WAS RECALLED IN 2015 MODELS
THIS MORNING, WHEN MY WIFE STARTED THE CAR AND AN ERROR MESSAGE SHOWED UP THAT 'STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED'. AND THE STEERING WAS LOCKED AND VERY HARD TO TURN. I DID SOME SEARCH ONLINE AND IT TURNED OUT IT IS THE COMMON ISSUE FOR FORD AND 2010-2013 TAURUS WAS ON THE RECALL LIST. JUST WONDER WHY 2014 WAS NOT WHEN THE PROBLEM EXISTS THE SAME.
THE VEHICLE WILL SOMETIMES CRANK BUT WILL NOT START. IT HAPPENS MORE OFTEN ON HOT DAYS AND WHEN PARKED WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE TOWARDS THE SUN. THE LOCAL DEALER IS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I LEFT THE CAR WITH THE DEALER FROM 6/8/2018-6/20/2018 AND THE CAR ONLY FAILED TO START ONE TIME AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND THE REASON. SINCE PICKING THE CAR UP IT HAS FAILED TO START THREE TIMES. I CHECKED ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. I PULLED THE RELAY FROM OUR CAR AND IT IS THE SAME ONE THAT HAS A RECALL EXCEPT OURS IS ON A TAURUS LIMITED NOT THE SHO. I RECOMMEND RECALLING ALL VEHICLES WITH THE SAME FUEL PUMP RELAY REGARDLESS OF MODEL/TRIM. I HAVE ATTACHED A PHOTO OF OUR CAR'S FUEL PUMP RELAY.
PULLING INTO MY GARAGE, STEERING WARNING FLASHED, UNABLE TO DRIVE. FORTUNATE I WASN'T HALF IN HALF OUT. OR WORSE, NEARING THE TURN. PART IS THE STEERING GEAR ELECTRONIC COMPONENT. PART IS $1400 PLUS LABOR MAKING IT WAY ABOVE $2K TO REPAIR AND UNIT WILL GO OUT AGAIN. THERE IS NO WARNING, NO WAY TO DRIVE AND A SAFETY ISSUE IF IN TRAFFIC OR AT HIGH SPEEDS. COST IS PROHIBITIVE. MORE SO, THIS VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 40K MILES ON IT AND THE ELECTRONICS ARE GOING OUT FAST. NO BLUETOOTH, NO DASH CONNECTIONS, NOW NO STEERING. CORPORATE FORD WILL NOT COVER REPAIRS. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? IS THERE A DEFECT IN THIS MODEL OR IS IT ALL IN ELECTRONICS. BUYER BEWARE, ELECTRONICS ARE DEADLY. I WON'T EVEN GET IN THIS VEHICLE.
THE CAR STALLED ON ME WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OUT OF NO WHERE MY STEERING STARTING STICKING AND EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN ALMOST CAUSING ME TO CRASH WITH MY TWO KIDS IN THE CAR. I BROUGHT IT TO MY MECHANIC AND IT NEEDS A STEERING RACK! THE CAR IS 4 YRS OLD WITH 70K MILES IT SHOULD NOT NEED A STEERING RACK! MY CAR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND WELL MAINTAINED THERE WAS NO WARNING SIGNS OR ANYTHING BEFORE THIS HAPPENED!
WHILE DRIVING I WENT TO TAKE A LEFT HAND TURN AND MY STEERING WENT OUT AND INTO A MANUAL MODE. I WAS ABLE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT, BUT IT HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES IN THE LAST THREE MONTHS. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND THERE WAS A RECALL FOR MODEL YEARS 2010-2013. FOR SOME REASON 2014 WAS LEFT OUT EVEN THOUGH IT IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE.
A FAULT DEVELOPED IN THE WIRING LEADING FROM THE DASH BUTTON FOR THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER AND THE DEFROSTER ITSELF. THE FORD REPAIR SHOP TRACED THE FAULT TO A FOUR FOOT AREA BETWEEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE PASSENGER DOOR. REWIRING OF THE SHORTED OUT WIRE WAS REQUIRED. THERE WAS NO EXPLANATION TO WHAT CAUSED THE SHORT OTHER THAN POTENTIAL FACTORY FAULT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD TAURUS. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LIBERTY FORD (4215 LIBERTY AVE, VERMIILION, OH) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP DELIVERY MODULATOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT NO SOLUTION WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
THIS VEHICLE STALLS WHILE IN MOTION ON BOTH CITY STREETS AND ON HIGHWAYS. AT TIMES IT WILL NOT RUN AT ALL. I LEARNED THAT CERTAIN 2014 FORD TAURUS MODELS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. I HAD IT REPAIRED IN OCTOBER 2017, AT THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THE FUEL PUMP MODULE WAS REPLACED. PRESENTLY THE SAME PROBLEM HAS RE-OCCURRED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR VIEW CAMERA WAS INOPERABLE. THE REAR VIEW CAMERA OCCASIONALLY SHOWED A BLANK SCREEN OR AN UPSIDE-DOWN VIEW WHILE REVERSING. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAYED A MESSAGE THAT THE CAMERA WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FLETCHER AUTO GROUP FORD (3015 TURKEY CREEK ROAD, BLVD, JOPLIN, MO 64801, (417)-317-5307) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT AN INTERNAL PART IN THE CAMERA FAILED AND THAT THE CAMERA NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V575000 (VISIBILITY). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,641.
FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE FAILED CAUSING ENGINE TO STALL AND NOT ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. FORTUNATELY AT THE TIME I WAS AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IDLING, HOWEVER I WAS 5 MINUTES AWAY FROM GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY. PARKED CAR, AND PURCHASED REPLACEMENT FUEL MODULE FROM FORD DEALER AND ABLE TO GET CAR RUNNING AGAIN. FORD HAS ISSUED RECALL 16S31, HOWEVER MY '14 TAURUS WITH A NATURALLY ASPIRATED 3.5L IS NOT INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL. PART NUMBER OF THE MODULE IS AA8A-9D412-CA AND SUPPLIER CODE DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE ONE OF THE STATED SUPPLIERS THAT IS OK TO USE. SUPPLIER CODE APPEARS TO BE -OC. SEE ATTACHED PHOTO AND COMPARE TO INFORMATION SUPPLIED IN RECALL 16S31. REPLACEMENT PART IS P/N AA8Z-9D370-B. DEALER COST WITH TAX FOR THE PART WAS APPROX. $70
ABOUT HALF THE TIME, WHEN WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE TURNED ON, THEY WILL NOT SHUT OFF. I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED THEM TURNING ON SUDDENLY AS I DRIVE. THEY STAY ON WHEN I TURN THEM ON. THE HEADLIGHTS STAY ON AS WELL. EVEN WHEN TURNING LIGHTS OFF, THE WIPERS REMAIN. THIS CAUSES THEM TO BE ON WHILE IT'S DRY RESULTING IN A DRAGGING WIPE AND NOISE. IT CAN ALSO CAUSE A MINOR SMUDGE. I'VE HAD THE CAR SINCE JUNE 2016 AND THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN ISSUE. TO TURN THEM ON CAUSES HESITATION AS THEY MAY NOT TURN OFF ANY TIME SOON. I'VE RESTARTED THE CAR A FEW TIMES AND MY EXPERIENCE IS TO WAIT IT OUT AFTER A COUPLE DAYS. A BRIEF LOOK ONLINE SHOWS VARIOUS FORD CARS AND TRUCKS HAVE THIS ISSUE.
DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH ON A CITY STREET WHEN WARNING CAME UP THAT SAID POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE, AND ADVANCE TRAC NEEDS SERVICE, ALSO TURN SIGNALS WILL NOT STAY ON UNLESS HOLDING LEVER. POWER STEERING WENT OUT VERY HARD TO CONTROL CAR. TOOK TO MECHANIC HAD TO HAVE COMPLETE RACK AND PINION REPLACED ONLY 55,200 MILES ON CAR SAME PROBLEM FROM OTHER YEAR MODELS THAT ARE RECALLED BUT NOT FOR THIS MODEL YEAR.
ONE DAY MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE TRAVELING TO THE STORE. ON THE WAY TO THE STORE MY BACK DOOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE JUST POPS OPEN. I THOUGHT SHE WAS MESSING WITH IT SO I ASKED HER AND SHE SAID NO SHE WAS JUST SITTING THERE. SO I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE DOOR. IT DIDN'T OPEN ALL THE WAY BUT IT OPENED ENOUGH FOR THE DOOR ALARM TO GO OFF. I DIDNT THINK MUCH OF IT UNTIL AGAIN, JUST YESTERDAY, THE DOOR DID IT AGAIN! WE ERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE SAME DOOR JUST POPS OPEN AGAIN! NOW I AM REALLY CONCERNED. MY DAUGHTER IS ONLY 6 YEARS OLD. WHAT IF SHE IS SLEEPING AND LEANING ON THE DOOR WHILE I AM DRIVING AND THE DOOR POPS OPEN LIKE THAT?! MY CAR ONLY HAS 34K MILES ON IT, HAS NEVER BEEN WRECKED SO THIS CONCERNS ME. IS THERE SOME ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE THAT MAY NEED TO BE RECALLED?? I AM CONCERNED ABOUT MY CHILDS SAFETY AT THIS POINT AND WOULD LIKE A RESOLUTION.
I DROVE MY CAR JUST FINE ON SUNDAY. WHEN I GOT IN THE CAR TO GO TO WORK MONDAY MORNING, THE ENGINE WOULD CRANK, BUT IT WOULDN'T START. SO I CALLED MY MECHANIC WHO CAME OVER WITH A MACHINE. THEY FOUND THAT FUEL WAS NOT GETTING TO THE ENGINE ALTHOUGH I HAD HALF A TANK OF GAS. THERE IS NO KILL SWITCH ON MY MODEL CAR, FOR THEM TO RESET THINKING I HAD HIT A BUMP AND SOMEHOW SET OFF THE THEFT FEATURE THAT KILLS FUEL TO THE ENGINE WHEN MY CAR THINKS IT BEING STOLEN(?). THEY WERE ABLE TO BYPASS SOMETHING TO GET THE CAR TO CRANK WHICH DETERMINED THE FUEL PUMP WAS IN WORKING ORDER. THEY WERE LOOKING FOR THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE WHEN WE FOUND THE NHTSA #16V621000, WHICH SHOWS THE 2013-2015 FORD TAURUS MODELS (WHICH I HAVE), "A COMPONENT WITHIN THE FUEL PUMP ELECTRIC MODULE (PEM) MAY OVERHEAT CAUSING A LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE FUEL PUMP. I RECALL RECENTLY THAT WHILE I WAS DRIVING ONE DAY I COULD SMELL SOMETHING BURNING, AN ELECTRICAL WIRING SMELL, BUT SINCE MY CAR STILL RAN DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING ABOUT IT. WHEN YOU TYPE IN MY VIN, THIS RECALL DOES NOT SHOW UP, BUT WHEN YOU ENTER THE YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL IT DOES SHOW UP. I STRONGLY URGE THE PROPER PEOPLE AT FORD TO LOOK INTO THIS. I THANK JESUS THAT MY VEHICLE DIDN'T STALL WHILE DRIVING.
MICHELIN 4 DRY ROTTED TIRES ON A 2014 TAURUS SEL WITH LESS THAN 36,000 MILES WERE TAKEN OFF THE CAR DUE TO MECHANICS REQUESTED THAT THEY WEREN'T SAFE ON THE HIGHWAY. TIRE INFO IS AS FOLLOWS: PILOT HX MXM4 99H P235X55XR18 DOT AP3 002X 4060-751 -00 . WENT TO COSTCO AND HAD 4 NEW TIRES INSTALLED. EXPECT A RE-IMBURSEMENT FROM MICHELIN
THE POWER STEERING MAKES NOISE AND IS SLIPPING AT CERTAIN POINTS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. IT SEEMS TO BE CONSISTENT WITH CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 17B22, WHICH WAS RECENTLY ISSUED FOR THE POLICE UTILITY VEHICLES OF THIS SAME YEAR, BUT DID NOT INCLUDE THE SEDAN. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM, AS POWER STEERING COULD FAIL AT HIGH SPEEDS.
CAR ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY, TWICE THIS HADS HAPPENED. CAUSING ME TO COAST WITH LITTLE TO ABSOLUTE NO CONTROL OVER THE ACCELERATION/SPEED OF THE VEHICLE, AGAIN BOTHER TIMES CAR WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 65MPH. CAR SITS AND COOLS DOWN AFTER A TIME PASSES APPROXIMATELY 15 -30 MIN AND CAR WILL START BACK UP. ALL ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS WORK AS FAR AS DASH, LIGHTS, RADIO, ETC. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A SIMILAR RECALL OF THE SAME MAKE AND YEAR BUT DIFFERENT TRIM... ALSO THE COMPLAINTS ARE VERY SIMILAR.
MY CARE ONLY HAS 46+ THOUSAND MILES ON IT. IN FEBRUARY OF 2017, I CAME OUT TO START MY CAR AS I HAVE DONE EVERY DAY SINCE I GOT IT AS A USED CAR AT 22,000 MILES . THE CAR WOULD NOT START. IT JUST TURNED OVER, BUT WOULD NOT START! I HAD IT TOWED TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC, AND IT WAS FOUND TO BE A BAD FUEL MODULE UNDER THE BACK SEAT. IT WAS REPLACED AND DROVE FINE FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS. IT DID IT AGAIN IN EARLY JULY 2017. TOOK IT BACK, MODULE WAS BAD AGAIN. REPLACED AGAIN. DROVE IT FOR 1 DAY, TANK FULL OF 93 GAS, IT SHUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, AND WOULD NOT START (IT TURNED OVER, BUT WOULD NOT START LIKE IT WAS OUT OF GAS). I CHECKED FOR A RECALL, AND IN AUGUST 25, 2016 NHTSA DID A RECALL ON CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000. I CALLED FORD AS DIRECTED TO DO, AND WAS TOLD MY CAR DID NOT HAVE A RECALL ON THE FUEL SYSTEM. I ARGUED THAT I HAVE THE CAMPAIGN NUMBER, BUT THE PERSON VEHEMENTLY REFUSED TO EVEN LOOK UP THE NUMBER. THE CAR IS BACK IN THE SHOP. I LOVE MY CAR, BUT I AM FRUSTRATED THAT FORD WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE RECALL FROM AUGUST 2016. WHAT DO I DO? I CAN UPLOAD ALL OF MY INVOICES FORM MY MECHANIC WHEN HE PROVIDES THE TO ME.
TAKATA RECALL. THE STARTED MODULAR HAS AN ISSUE. IT WILL CRANK AND NOT START, 7/8 OF FUEL. PUSH START ENGINE. NEW BATTERIES IN REMOTE. CAR WAS PARKED AND I ATTEMPTED TO START WITH BOTH THE FOB AND DIRECT. HAD TO GET IT TOWED. NOW COSTING ALMOST $250. MYSYNC REPORT HAD NO INDICATION. NEITHER DID ANY LIGHTS ON THE DASH AS A WARNING.
I TOOK A 50 MILE TRIP ON THE EXPRESSWAY TO ANOTHER CITY. I TURNED THE CAR OFF WHEN STOPPING TO GET SOME FOOD. AFTER THE CAR WAS PARKED 10 MINUTES I TURNED IT BACK ON TO LEAVE. WITH THE CAR TURNED ON I STARTED TO BACK UP AND NOTICED HOW I COULD HARDLY TURN MY STEERING WHEEL. I PARKED AND THEN TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND IT CONTINUED DOING THE SAME THING. THERE WERE TWO MESSAGES APPEARING FROM THE COMPUTER: "STEERING ASSIST SERVICE REQUIRED" AND "SERVICE ADVANCED TRAC". I JUST PURCHASED MY CAR WHEN THE LEASE ENDED AND HAVE ONLY MADE TWO PAYMENTS ON IT AND ITS BROKE! I ONLY HAVE 15,976 MILES ON THIS 2014 TAURUS WHICH NEVER HAD ANYTHING WRONG ON IT BEFORE. I BOUGHT A PREMIUM WARRANTY WHEN I PURCHASED IT AND HOPE THAT THIS IS COVERED. MY HUSBAND, MY GOLDEN RETRIEVER AND MYSELF WERE THANKFULLY NOT ON THE EXPRESSWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED, BUT PARKED. I HAD DRIVEN US ON OUR OUTING AND I DON'T KNOW IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC IF I COULD HAVE STEERED THE CAR OVER TO SAFETY. WE HAD THANKFULLY FOUND A TOWING TRUCK THAT ALLOWED OUR DOG TO TRAVEL WITH US.
VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN FRONT END
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70 PLUS MPH MY CAR LOST ACCELERATION POWER THIS MAKES THE 3 TIME IT HAS DONE THIS, BUT THIS TIME I WAS STUCK IN THE FAST LANE WITH NOW POWER BECAUSE A CAR WAS IN THE SLOW LANE, I WAS STUCK I HAD TO THROW ON MY EMERGENCY BLINKERS AND WAIT BEFORE I COULD GET OVER TO THE SHOULDER I HAD CARS LOCKING IT UP BEHIND ME ABOUT HITTING ME. THIS IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS. AS I WAS LOOKING UP WHAT IT COULD BE I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS HASN'T BEEN LOOKED INTO MY CAR IS A 2014 CAR WITH LESS THEN 50K MILES.
2014 FORD TAURUS RECALL: MY CAR WOULDN'T START AFTER BEING PARKED, I REPLACED THE BATTERY, AND IT STILL WOULD NOT START. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS OR WARNINGS CAME ON. I WAS CHECKING ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL OUT FOR MY MAKE MODEL & YEAR OF CAR FOR A FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE MALFUNCTION BUT DIDN'T INCLUDE MY VIN. I GOT IT TOWED TO A LOCAL AUTO SHOP AND DIAGNOSED AND THIS WAS SPECIFICALLY THE ISSUE. I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET BECAUSE MY VIN# HADN'T BEEN INCLUSIVE OF THIS RECALL. I NEED TO GET MY VIN ADDED, MY CAR HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE ONES COVERED, SO I CAN GET REIMBURSED.
TWO MONTHS AGO MY CAR WON'T START. AFTER SOME RESEARCH I NOTICED THE MOST LIKELY CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WAS THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE. THEN I FOUND OUT THAT FORD HAD ISSUED A SAFETY RECALL FOR THE ISSUE. I CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THE RECALL WAS FOR A DIFFERENT SIZE ENGINE. LAST WEEK I WAS DRIVING HOME ON THE INTERSTATE GOING THE SPEED LIMIT OF 70 MPH AND THE CAR QUIT. THE RECALL STATES "IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE COULD FAIL, WHICH MAY CAUSE AN ENGINE TO NOT START OR STALL. IN SOME CASES, THE ENGINE COULD STALL WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING AND WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO RESTART, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH." BEFORE STARTING THE CAR/OR WHEN IN PARK. FROM APRIL 2017 UNTIL PRESENT WHEN I TRY TO PUT MY SEATBELT ON IT CATCHES GETS STUCK. IT HARD TO GET IT TO RELEASE ENOUGH TO FASTEN IT HAS BECOME AN ISSUE. I CAN DRIVE WITHOUT IT ON HAS THERE BEEN ANYMORE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS.

I HAVE HAD TO HAVE MY DRIVERS WINDOW WORKED ON TWICE. IT TENDS TO SQUEAL LOUDLY WHEN PUTTING DOWN, AS IF GLASS RUBBING METAL. THIS HAPPENS, NO MATTER IF YOU ARE SITTING, ROLLING, ETC. FORD HAS ADJUSTED TWICE NOW UNDER 36K.
STARTED VEHICLE AT HOME, DROVE APPROXIMATELY 45 MILES TO WORK AND PARKED. AFTER EXITING VEHICLE AND WALKING ABOUT 30 FEET, HEARD A LOUD BANG AND SAW THE REAR WINDOW SHATTER. IT WAS 19 F OUTSIDE TEMP. ON REPLACING THE REAR WINDOW, TECHNICIAN DISCOVERED REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER CONNECTOR ON PASSENGER SIDE WAS MELTED AND ON THE PIECE OF GLASS STILL CONNECTED TO THE WIRE, BURNT GLASS. FUSE/RELAY ON THE REAR DEFROSTER CIRCUIT WAS NOT BLOWN.
TWO DAYS AGO I EXPERIENCE A PROBLEM I HAD WITH MY CAR IT WOULD NOT START AND AFTER GETTING MY CAR BATTERY TESTED AND INFORMED IT WAS GOOD I THEN HAD MY FUEL PUMP REPLACED AFTER BEING INFORMED THAT WAS MY PROBLEM AND STILL MY CAR WOULD NOT START IT DID AT FIRST START BUT SUDDENLY DIED OUT AND AFTERWARDS NOTICED A RECALL ON THIS SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL COULD I POSSIBLY BE ONE OF THE FEW WHO IS EFFECTED BY THIS RECALL?
MY CAR WAS DRIVING FINE ON MONDAY NIGHT WITH NO PROBLEMS NOTED. ON TUESDAY MORNING UPON GETTING READY TO LEAVE FOR WORK, MY CAR STATIONARY SITTING OUTSIDE THE HOUSE. I TRIED TO USE THE PUSH BUTTON TO START THE CAR AS I ALWAYS DO BUT THE CAR ONLY MADE STARTING NOISES, IT NEVER CRANKED. AT FIRST, I THOUGHT MAYBE MY BATTERY WAS DEAD BUT IT IS GETTING CHARGE. IT WASN'T THE KEY FOB MALFUNCTIONING EITHER. I TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO CRANK THE CAR BUT IT WILL NOT START. THE GAS GAUGE SHOWED A LOW FUEL LIGHT SO GAS WAS ADDED JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT IT WASN'T TOO LOW TO REGISTER. THAT DID NOT WORK, EITHER. I BELIEVE SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE FUEL PUMP AS THERE IS A RECALL OUT ON OTHER CARS LIKE MINE. *TR
WAS IN THE PARKING LOT AT WORK PREPARING TO LEAVE AND STARTED THE CAR UP AND THE BATTERY LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND DISPLAYED CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED UP AND WOULDN'T BUDGE. I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE CAR WAS ABLE TO MOVE AND I DROVE IT HOME. WILL BE TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY.
2014 FORD TAURUS BATTERY IS DYING. I DO NOT DRIVE THIS CAR A LOT AND IT HAS 93,134 MILES. IVE GOTTON 4 JUMPS AND THE CAR STARTS RIGHT UP. I TOOK THE CAR TO AUTO ZONE TO TEST THE BATTERY AND THE ALTERNATOR. BOTH NUMBER CAME BACK GREAT. WHY IS MY BATTERY DYING OVERNIGHT. NOTHING IS ON THAT I CAN SEE. MY ENGINE LIGHT IS NOW ON. I DOUBLED CHECK ALL POWER EQUIPMENT TO MAKE SURE IT WASNT STUCK IN PLACE. NOTHING. MY BATTERY JUST DIES.

ON OCTOBER 24,2016, THE CAR TURNED THE STARTER OVER, BUT NOTHING ELSE HAPPENS - IT JUST WILL NOT START. IT WAS TOWED TO GARAGE WHERE IT STILL WOULD NOT START. THE MECHANIC TRIED NEW FUEL PUMP, WHICH WOULD NOT WORK. WHEN HE TESTED THE FUEL PUMP RELAY, THE CAR STARTED WORKING, HOWEVER, THE RELAY WAS NOT REPLACED BUT EXCHANGED WITH AN IDENTICAL RELAY ALREADY ON THE CAR. EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FOUND, THE CAR SEEMED TO RUN FINE. THE CAR WAS USED FOR ABOUT FIVE DAYS - EVEN A TRIP THIS MORNING. THIS EVENING (11/10/2016), I (OWNER'S DAUGHTER) WENT OUT TO MOVE THE CAR AND THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN. THE CAR TURNS THE STARTER OVER, BUT NOTHING ELSE HAPPENS. THE CAR HAS THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS AS BEFORE. I (OWNER'S DAUGHTER) CALLED FORD AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE. THIS 2014 FORD TAURUS IS EXTREMELY UNRELIABLE -- THE CAR ONLY HAS ~50,000 MILES ON IT.
WAS RIDING IN BACK SEAT OF THIS CAR WHEN IT WAS REAR ENDED BY A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. TAURUS WAS STOPPED ON HIGHWAY, AND HIT SQUARELY FROM BEHIND. BOTH BACK SEAT DRIVERS WERE SEVERELY BRUISED IN LOWER BACK BY LATCH BRACKET. THE IMPACT WAS NOT EXTREME. NO AIR BAGS WERE DEPLOYED. I'D HATE TO BE IN BACK OF THAT CAR IF HIT AT FULL SPEED. IT WOULD SEEM LIKELY THAT THAT BRACKET WOULD PRODUCE SEVERE LOWER BACK/TAILBONE INJURIES IN A MAXIMUM SPEED REAR IMPACT. OF SECOND NOTE, I'M A MECHANICAL ENGINEER, I NOTED THAT THE FAILURE OF THE REAR BUMPER FRAME TUBE WAS VERY BRITTLE IN ITS FAILURE MODE. I'D HAVE THOUGHT THE METAL WOULD HAVE STRETCHED AND GIVEN MORE. IT SIMPLY FRACTURED AT THE BRACKETS TO THE FRAME AND SNAPPED IN HALF IN THE MIDDLE, ALLOWING THE TRUNK LID AND FENDERS TO TAKE THE BRUNT OF THE IMPACT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,999.
WHEN USING MY TURN SIGNALS TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN. WHEN I ACTIVATE THE TURN SIGNAL MY HEADLIGHTS WILL FLASH (ONLY WHEN MAKING A RIGHT TURN). IT IS AN ANNOYING SITUATION. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STOPPED AND HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS.
