TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. AFTER OPENING THE ELECTRONIC REAR LIFTGATE, THE DOOR WOULD INADVERTENTLY CLOSE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED IN 2016 PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V415000 (STRUCTURE). THE DOOR ACTUATOR SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED, BUT THE FAILURE STILL OCCURRED. THE LOCAL DEALER (CORAL SPRINGS GMC IN CORAL SPRINGS, FL) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

WAS RAINING HARD AND COMING HOME WHEN THE REAR OVERHEAD LIGHT STARTED LEAKING WATER OUT AND INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HAVING REGULAR MAINTENANCE PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE, THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED HIM THAT THERE WAS A LEAK FROM AN UNKNOWN SOURCE THAT WAS CAUSING THREE INCHES OF WATER TO ACCUMULATE ON THE FLOORBOARD AREA. THE CONTACT REMOVED THE CARPET FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE FLOORBOARD AND DISCOVERED THAT THE FLOORBOARD WAS COVERED IN MILDEW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 96,600.
WATER HAS BEEN POURING IN THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. IT STARTED IN THE REAR OVERHEAD LIGHTS, DVD PLAYER AND HAS PROGRESSED TO THE FRONT OF THE INTERIOR, SOAKING THE DASH BOARD AND CAUSING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TO MALFUNCTION. SO MUCH AS KILLING THE BATTERY, THE REAR DOOR OPENING ON ITS OWN, THE HEAT NOT RESPONDING TO THE FRONT . I SPOKE TO TECHNICIANS IN SALISBURY WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR, A GMC DEALERSHIP. HE HAS STATED MY WARRANTY HAD RUN OUT, NEVER STATING THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE ACADIA. I THOUGHT IT WAS A SEAL PROBLEM AND SET OUT TO ORDER ONE FROM THE SAME DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED IT THAT TIME, IT WAS PROBABLY THE DRAIN HOSES, OD COURSE THE PROBLEM WAS NOT IDENTIFIED AS BEING COMMON WITH THIS VEHICLE. BUT WAS TOLD TO "BLOW OUT THE DRAIN HOSES" I HAVE TO PUT PLASTIC OVER MY CAR TO PREVENT WATER FROM ENTERING, MY RESEARCH HAS DISCOVERED SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE GMC HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AND BE MADE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *TR
WATER LEAKING FROM FRONT PASSENGER SEATBELT IN HEAVY RAIN. THIS IS ALSO THE SAME ARE WHERE AN AIRBAG IS LOCATED. THE AIRBAG SYMBOL ACTUALLY HAS WATER LEAKING FROM IT. *TR
BOUGHT A USED 2007 GMC ACADIA SLT IN MAY OF 2010, SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD HEADLIGHTS BLOWING CONSTANTLY, ENGINE SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING, WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON, HOWEVER MY BIGGEST ISSUE IS THAT I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IN SUNNY EL PASO, TX AND THEN MOVED TO RAINY GERMANY WITH THE MILITARY. NOW THE CAR IS CONSTANTLY LEAKING WATER FROM THE SEAT BELTS, AIRBAG SQUARES, EMERGENCY BRAKE, DVD SYSTEM AND SEVERAL PLACES ON THE ROOF (INSIDE) AND THE PILLARS (INSIDE). I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS IS MESSING WITH ALL THE ELECTRICAL OF MY CAR AND I AM WONDERING IF MY AIRBAGS WILL WORK IF EVER NEEDED. IT SEEMS THERE IS HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE ACROSS THE WORLD THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM BUT GMC WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I CANT GET RID OF THE CAR BECAUSE OF THIS AND I AM NOT SURE I WANT TO TAKE THE RISK OF DRIVING IT. WHAT NOW? THE VEHICLE LEAKS WATER ON BOTH THE RIGHT AND LEFT FLOOR BOARDS AND APPEARS TO BE ALSO COMING DOWN THE BACK OF THE FRONT DASH. THIS OCCURS IN LIGHT RAIN UP TO SEVERE RAIN. IT HAS BEEN DEALER REPAIRED (SEALED AND GASKET MATERIAL APPLIED) AND THAT SEAMED TO WORK THE FIRST TIME FOR A WHILE AND NOW IT IS LEAKING IN THE SAME PLACE AGAIN. *TR
I BOUGHT A 2007 GMC ACADIA BRAND NEW. RECENTLY HAVE BEEN HAVING SERIOUS WATER LEAKS ON PASSENGER SIDE. THE AREAS ARE THE SEATBELT AREA AND NEAR THE FLOORBOARD. THIS HAPPENS EVERYTIME IT RAINS AND HAPPENS RATHER QUICKLY IN THE FLOORBOARD AREA. SEVERAL TOWELS GET SOAKED WITHIN AN HOUR. MY FAMILY AND I ARE DEPENDENT ON THIS VEHICLE TO GET US TO SCHOOL AND WORK. FEELING VERY UNSURE OF PURCHASING FROM GM AGAIN DUE TO THE FACT I'VE READ SO MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS AND NO ACTION BEING TAKEN ON THEIR PART. I PURCHASED A 2007 GMC ACADIA SLT-2 AND I HAVE NOW EXPERIENCED 3 WATER LEAKS INSIDE THE VEHICLE DUE TO DRAIN TUBES CLOGGING. THE CAR FILLS UP WITH WATER ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE FLOORS. I WAS TOLD BEFORE I BOUGHT THE CAR THAT DRAIN TUBE EXTENSIONS WERE INSTALLED BUT THIS HAS NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM IT IS UNBELIEVABLE TO THINK THAT GMC IS SELLING A FORTY THOUSAND DOLLAR CAR WITH THESE DESIGN ISSUES. I PURCHASED BRAND NEW FROM GMC DEALERSHIP A 2007 GMC ACADIA. ABOUT A YEAR LATER AFTER HEAVY RAINS, I HAD WATER LEAKING FROM THE SUNROOF AND DVD PLAYER AREA. I DID RECEIVE A RECALL NOTICE ABOUT BAD ROOF DRAIN TUBES. TOOK ACADIA INTO DEALERSHIP FEB20, 2009 TO GET INSTALLED/REPAIRED. YEAR LATER, FEB 18, 2010, HAD TO AGAIN, TAKE ACADIA INTO DEALERSHIP FOR SAME ISSUE. WATER COMING THRU LIGHT FIXTURES NOW. BUT THEY REPLACED SEAL ON SUNROOF. ON MAY 17,2010, RETURNED TO DEALERSHIP BECAUSE AGAIN, WATER LEAKING INTO CAR. SAID THEY WATER TESTED CAR AND FOUND NO PROBLEMS. (THEY TOLD ME IT'S BECAUSE I PARK MY CAR ON A INCLINE DRIVEWAY.) ARRIVED TO TAKE MY CAR HOME, BUT THEY STOPPED ME BECAUSE WHEN THEY WASHED MY CAR, THEY NOTICED WATER LEAKING FROM THE ROOF (SAME AREAS AS BEFORE). THEY "FIXED" THE PROBLEM AGAIN, AND RETURNED ACADIA TO ME. AND YESTERDAY, 2 MONTHS LATER, I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SAME WATER LEAK ISSUE. AGAIN, TOLD ME NOT TO PARK ON INCLINE. THEY RESEALED REAR SUNROOF, REMOVED HEADLINER AND SUNROOF FRAME AND SEALED DRAIN HOLES PER BULLETIN. SAME DAY THERE WAS RAINS, AND NO MORE THAN 6 HOURS LATER, ACADIA IS STILL LEAKING WATER ON FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. CARPET SOAKING WET AND THE SMELL OF MILDEW IS SETTING IN. TOTAL OF 4 ATTEMPTS TO FIX LEAKING WATER IN ACADIA. NOT FIXED YET. (FOR THE RECORD, THE ACADIA IS A GREAT CROSSOVER VEHICLE. THE ONLY ISSUE I HAVE WITH IT IS THE LEAKING ROOF.) *TR
AFTER A RAINSTORM OR CONTACT WITH WATER ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE'S ROOF LEAKS TREMENDOUSLY, NEAR FRONT SUNROOF AND WINDSHIELD COLUMN ON PASSENGER SIDE, AND AROUND THE REAR SUNROOF. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED OVER 3 TIMES BY A GM DEALER UNDER WARRANTY, BUT NOW THE CAR IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND I WILL BE PAYING FOR THE REPAIRS, AND THE REPAIRS DON'T REALLY REPAIR THE PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE'S INTERIOR AND AC NOW SMELLS LIKE MOLD/MILDEW, AND I AM GREATLY CONCERNED FOR THE HEALTHY OF MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. *JB
SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN BRAND NEW CONDITION AROUND NOVEMBER 2007 THE VEHICLE HAS ENCOUNTER SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH WATER GETTING INSIDE THE CABIN DUE TO THE POOR WATER DRAIN SYSTEM INSTALLED ON VEHICLE. WATER DRAIN SYSTEM HAS BEEN REPAIR IN SECTIONS AND TAKEN TO GMC SHOP FOR ALL RECALLS. THE WATER DRAIN SYSTEM HAS FAILED AGAIN ON MAY 31, 2010 WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE CAR WASH. THE DEALER/GMC SHOP IS AWARE OF THE ON-GOING ISSUE. THE ENTIRE WATER DRAIN SYSTEM ON THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE REPLACED OR VEHICLE BOUGHT BACK FROM GMC, IF WATER GETS INTO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IT COULD BE A POTENTIAL ELECTRICAL FIRE, INJURIES, TRAFFIC COLLISIONS OR DEATH. *TR
