AT AN INTERSECTION CONSUMER APPLIED GAS TO CROSS INTERSECTION, NOTHING HAPPENED, ENGINE REVVED, BUT VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE. AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF GOING THROUGH GEARS, VEHICLE FINALLY MOVED AGAIN. *AK

THERE ARE TWO DIFFERANT DOT # ON FOUR TIRES .I AM ALMOST CERTAIN THAT THE DEALER WILL REPLACE THE TIRES FOR ME. BUT FIRESTONE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND REFUSED TO EVEN LOOK AT THE TIRES. GMC DEALER SAYS THERE ARE BELTS THAT ARE SEPARATED IN THE TIRES. DOT ON TWO TIRES ARE VN73 THE OTHER TWO ARE W273.*AK (DOT NUMBER: VN73-W273 TIRESIZE: 265/75R/16)
THE VEHICLES TIRE SIZE WAS NOT PROGRAMMED INTO THE ELECTRONIC BRAKING SYSTEM WHEN IT LEFT THE FACTORY AND IT WAS NOT CALIBRATED FOR THE TIRE SIZE WHICH CAUSED THE ABS SYSTEM NOT TO OPERATE PROPERLY RESULTING IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. NLM
HEADLIGHTS FLICKER ON AND OFF RAPIDLY. DEALER THINKS ALTERNATOR IS AT FAULT. *AK
THIS FAILED ONCE BEFORE AND HAVE ONLY GONE 5000 MILES SINCE IT WAS FIXED AND IT HAS FAILED AGAIN. THIS IS VERY DISTURBING. NO SAFETY DEFECT. *AK
IGNITION TURNS OVER BUT WILL NOT CRANK. BATTERY/STARTER/ALTERNATOR CHECKED OUT OK. SECURITY LIGHT ON DASH LIGHTS UP WHILE DRIVING. MECHANIC STATES LIKELY A SECURITY SYSTEM OR COMPUTER PROBLEM, STATED DEALER WOULD CALL GM TECH SUPPORT FOR HELP. MULTIPLE CALLS TO DEALERSHIP ARE NOT RETURNED. TRUCK STILL REFUSES TO CRANK AT RANDOM TIMES, WHEN ENGINE COLD OR WARM. SECURITY LIGHT STILL ACTIVATES RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING, AND LIGHT STAYS ON TILL TRUCK SHUT OFF. TRUCK WILL NORMALLY CRANK AFTER 10 TO 30 MINUTES OF INACTIVITY. FUEL LINE CHECKED OUT OK.*AK
WHILE TRAVELLING ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAD A BLOWOUT ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE. THE BLOWOUT CAUSED ME TO CRASH INTO THE HIGHWAY. DIVIDER. I WAS THE ONLY OCCUPANT AND THE ONLY VEHICLE INVOLVED. I WAS NOT TRANSPORTED TO A HOSPITAL BUT WAS SEVERLEY SORE AND BRUISED. I DID MISS ONE DAY OF WORK. THE TIRE WAS A REPLACEMENT TIRE BOUGHT IN NOVEMBER 1999. THE TIRES HAD APPROX. 15,000 MILES. AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT I WAS TRAVELLING APPROX. 65 MPH. THE ACCIDENT OCCURED ABOUT 1:00 A.M. I DO HAVE PICTURES OF THE TIRE AND OF THE TRUCK. DRIVER'S SEAT BELT FAILED. *SLC
PROBLEM ONLY OCCURES WHEN ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ARE COMPLETLY WARMED AND TRANSMISSION IS IN OVERDRIVE MODE. IF TRANSMISSION IS IN DRIVE "3" NO PROBLEMS OCCUR AT ANY ENGINE SPEED. DEALER STATES ON REPAIR ORDER, "NORMAL CONDITION AT THIS TIME UNTIL AN UPDATE COMES OUT". SUGGESTION WAS MADE BY DEALER THAT THIS COULD BE CAUSED BY TOURQUE CONVERTER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 GMC SIERRA 2500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE SLIGHTLY LOWERED TOWARDS THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN WITH CAUTION TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THAT THE DRIVER SIDE MAIN FRAME RAIL WAS FRACTURED IN THE CENTER. ADDITIONALLY, THE PASSENGER SIDE MAIN RAIL WAS PARTIALLY FRACTURED. THE FAILURE WAS BEYOND REPAIR. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE BRAKE LINE AND REAR CROSS MEMBER NEAR THE FUEL TANK WERE COMPLETELY CORRODED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
PE00 020; CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 65MPH ON HIGHWAY AND HEARD A NOISE. HE WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDERS, AND NOTICED THAT RIGHT REAR TIRE TREAD HAD SEPARATED, THERE WERE NO INJURIES. FIRESTONE, STEEL TEX, 24575R16. HE TOOK VEHICLE TOOK FIRESTONE, AND THE ATTENDANT REPLACED TIRE.*AK
THE ACCELERATOR HAD STUCK, THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED, THE FLAPS ON THE FENDER AND THE DOOR TRIM HAD FALLEN OFF, THE BACK WINDOW LEAKED, THE HEAT SHIELD WAS BELIEVED TO HAVE CAUSED A VIBRATION IN THE DASH-PER SERVICE DEALER, THE COOLANT LIGHT STAYED ON, THE A/C HAD TO BE REPAIRED TWICE, AND THE ROTORS VIBRATED. *JB *SCC

THE AIR CONDITIONER COMES ON WHEN THE RECIRCULATE BUTTON IS SELECTED FOR AIR SOURCE AND CANNOT BE SHUTOFF AGAIN WITHOUT TURNING OFF THE ENGINE. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE CONTROL HEAD 3TIMES AND CHECKED THE WIRING BUT CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM SO THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS IS THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK.*AK
ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT WITH FIRESTONE, WILDERESS AT, P26575R16. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH BRAKING SYSTEM DID NOT STOP VEHICLE, MAY HAVE BEEN DUE TO TIRES. TREAD DESIGN DID NOT GIVE OFF TRACTION WHICH MAY HAVE CAUSED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE AND CRASH. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK

BRAKE LINE THAT CONNECTS TO REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE IS CUTTING THROUGH/ TOWARDS THE BED AREA, AND IT IS RUBBING AGAINST THE FRAME DUE TO POOR DESIGN OF VEHICLE. *AK
POWER STEERING PUMP SHAFT BROKE, CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING AND INABILITY TO CONTROL VEHICLE. *AK THE FAULTY CIRCUIT CLUSTER IN THE DASHBOARD CAUSED ALL GUAGES TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCES NOISE IN THE FRONT END. *YH
PE00 020; CONSUMER WAS INSPECTING TIRES AND NOTICED THAT LEFT REAR TIRE HAD TREAD SEPARATION. HE TOOK IT TO FIRESTONE, AND THE ATTENDANT TOLD HIM THAT THE TIRE WASN'T ON RECALL. FIRESTONE WILDERNESS#AT P265/75R16 AND DOT # 73WMA479 MADE IN CANADA. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. *AK THE CUSTOMER HAS REQUESTED THE FIRESTONE COMPANY TO INCLUDE P265/75R16 WILDERNESS AT TO THE RECALL LIST. *YH
ENGINE BURNS 3QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN CHANGES HAS 21750 MILES. *AK
DRIVING SOUTHBOUND ON TX SH 123 IN OUTSIDE LANE. SUDDENLY, MY TRUCK FELT LIKE IT WAS NUDGED FROM BEHIND, LIFTED UP AND WENT INTO A BACKWARDS SLIDE ACROSS 3 LANES INTO THE OUTSIDE NORTHBOUND LANE. I WAS STRUCK THERE BY A CHEVY ASTRO VAN, AND PUSHED OFF THE ROAD INTO THE BARDITCH. BOTH VEHICLES WERE TOTATALED, BUT NO INJURIES. ONE DRIVER IN EACH VEHICLE, NO PASSENGERS IN EITHER. BOTH DRIVERS WORE SEAT BELTS. HER AIRBAG DEPLOYED, BUT MINE DID NOT, SINCE I WAS HEADED BACKWARDS. UPON INSPECTION, BOTH REAR TIRES WERE BLOWN OUT ON MY TRUCK.( DOT NUMBER: JROM184303 TIRE SIZE: P265/75R16 )
BRAKING COMING TO A RED LIGHT. CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE OCCURRED DUE TO BRAKE LINE CORROSION. UPON INVESTIGATION, ALL FIVE BRAKE LINES LEADING FROM THE PUMP UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT, NEXT TO THE FRAME ARE SEVERELY CORRODED. EVERYTHING ELSE IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THERE IS ALMOST NO CORROSION AT, EXCEPT THE SEVERELY CORRODED BRAKE LINES. ALL BRAKE LINES NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS CLEARLY AN ISSUE OF INFERIOR BRAKE LINES USED. *TR
BRAKES SEEM TO SPUTTER WHEN DEPRESSED HEAVY/LIGHT @ ANY SPEED. THIS PROBLEM STILL CONTINUES. GENERAL TIRE BRAND-REAR RIGHT TIRE BLEW OUT THE SIDE WALL ON FREEWAY @ 75MPH-RAN OVER NOTHING. RIGHT REAR TIRE WAS REPLACE @ NO COST, DUE TO FAILURE. PROBLEM HAS NOT ACCURED YET. STEERING WHEEL ALWAYS FEELS LOOSE-HAS BEEN CHECKED AND SERVICE CLAIMED "THERE IS NO PROBLEM". ALSO MOTHER-IN-LAW HAS A 2000 4DR EXT. CAB WITH THE SAME BRAKE PROBLEMS AMONG A FEW OTHERS INCLUDING AC VENTS SMELLING ECT. SERVICE HAS CHECKED AND REPLACED FEW BRAKE PARTS(2 TIMES) AND PROBLEM STILL ACCURES. ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS PRESIST AND ARE A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM TO MY FAMILY AND I. WE WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE THESE PROBLEMS FIXED BEFORE ANY INJURIES ACCURE!!!!!
THE CONSUMER HAD THE FIRST OIL CHANGE AT 3500 MILES AND EVER SINCE THEN HAS HAD TO ADD 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 2 WEEKS, THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER .

THERE IS AND HAS BEEN AN ENGINE KNOCK SINCE 7/2000, HAS BEEN IN SHOP 6 TIMES FOR SAME PROBLEM, GMC CONTENDS CARBON KNOCK, GETTING WORSE. IDLES ROUGH, TOLD BY DEALER AND GMC IT IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF VEHICLE. GMC SAYS THEY WILL CONTINUE TO HORNOR WARRANTY. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WARRANTY EXPRIRES, AND THE PISTON COMES THROUGH THE BLOCK. DRIVETRAIN HESTIATES WHEN IN GEAR.

BRAKE PEDAL INTERMITTANTLY FEELS AS THOUGH THERE IS AIR IN THE LINE AND NEEDS TO BE PRESSED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO STOP. HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF AMBIANT TEMPERATURE OR ENGINE TEMP. THE LOCAL DEALER REPLACED THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AT 1515 MILES PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHER OWNERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME LOSS OF BRAKE PEDAL FEEL. I AM A LITTLE MORE THAN CONCERNED THAT THE BRAKES WILL FAIL IN AN EMERGENCY STOP. *AK
TRUCK IS 2000 EXT CAB LB 1/2 TON. ON CONCRETE FWYS, AT CERTAIN SPEEDS, THE TRUCK "BOUNCES" (NOT VIBRATES). THE FWY I HAPPEN TO DRIVE TO WORK ALWAYS CAUSES BOUNCING. I'VE CHANGED SHOCKS WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. ALL NEW GM LONGBED (2500, CHEVYS, ETC) ALL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. YOU CAN SEE US ALL DRIVE AT SPECIFIC SPEEDS TO AVOID "BOUNCING". THE DEALER SAYS I GOTTA LIVE WITH THIS. I SAY "WHY".*AK
THIS IS MY SECOND DENALI. I FILED A REPORT ON THE OTHER WHERE TREAD WAS ACTUALLY SEPARATING AND THE TIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THE TIRES ON THIS VEHICLE ARE CONSTANTLY LOSING AIR AS IF THE TREAD ON THESE TIRES ARE SEPARATING TOO. I PLAN TO HAVE THEM REPLACED BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM AS I AM AFRAID THEY WILL CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO WRECK. THIS IS ESPECIALLY DISCONCERTING FOR ME SINCE THE TIRES ON MY OTHER DENALI WAS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BADLY VIBRATE AT HIGHER SPEEDS AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE TIRE TREAD WAS SEPARATING AS IN THE RECALLED TIRES.( DOT NUMBER: )
I HAD NO TROUBLE WITH THE TIRES UNTIL LATE MAY, 2000. DURING THE LAST WEEK OF MAY THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF JUNE 2000, I HAD FIVE FLATS ON THESE TIRES. APPARENTLY, THE TEMPERATURE IN TEXAS WAS A FACTOR. THERE WAS NEVER ANY FOREIGN OBJECT IN THE HOLE IN THE TIRE. THE HOLES WERE ALWAYS OF A RUPTURE TYPE, NEVER A CLEAN PUNCTURE. THE FLATS ALWAYS OCCURRED WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON GRAVEL ROADS. THE LAST FLAT WAS ON THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE. I WAS AGAIN ON A GRAVEL ROAD AND WAS FORCED TO BRAKE SUDDENLY. IMMEDIATELY UPON BRAKING, I EXPERIENCED A RAPID, ALMOST INSTANTANEOUS, DEFLATION OF THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPAIRABLE, AS THE STAR SHAPED HOLE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2-3 INCHES IN DIAMETER. AFTER THIS FAILURE, WITH LESS THAN 12,000 MILES WEAR ON THEM, I REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES ON MY TRUCK. TIE ROD CAME UNBOLTED WHILE DRIVING SLOW SPEED IN LINE TO BOARD A STATE FERRY. LOST STEERING. VERY LUCKY WE WERE NOT TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEED. *AK
WHEN I PRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDALS ON A SUDDEN STOP ON BUMPY ROADS AT SPEEDS OVER 30 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL DOES NOT DEPRESS. THE BRAKE PEDAL VIBRATES AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT STOP PROPERLY. IT TAKES THE TRUCK A LONGER TIME TO STOP THAN NORMAL. THIS ALMOST CASUED ME TO REAR END CARS ON MORE THAN ONE OCASSION. I HAD TO TAKE MY FOOT OF THE BRAKE PEDAL AND REAPPLY PRESSURE TO GET FIRM BRAKE PRESSURE. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL VIBRATES, IT GIVES A FALSE SENSE OF ABS WORKING BUT THE TRUCK STOPS SLOWER THAN IF IT WERE THE ABS. SUDDEN STOPS ON BUMPY ROADS ARE VERY DANGEROUS. *AK
REAR GLASS FRAME CRACKED FROM FACTORY AND REPLACEMENT FAILED TWICE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED WITH FLAT GLASS NOT THE SLIDING GLASS I ORDERED FROM THE FACTORY .BOTH SIDE QUARTER WINDOWS HAD WIND NOISE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED.S
BOTH DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SEATBELTS PERIODICALLY LOCK FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THIS PINS DRIVER AGAINST SEATBACK, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO LEAN FORWARD TO CHECK MIRRORS, LOOK OVER SHOULDER ETC. FOR LANE CHANGE. DEALER REFUSES TO ADDRESS PROBLEM.
