"TAKATA RECALL" DASHBOARD IS CRACKED NEAR PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND OVER THE THE STEERING WHEEL.
THE TOP PORTION OF THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING IN TWO PLACES. ONE OVER THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND THE OTHER CRACK IS BY THE PASSENGER DASHBOARD AIRBAG. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH THIS GENERATION OF GMC/CHEVY TRUCKS AND SUVS.
MY DASH HAS BEEN SLOWLY CRACKING, THE CRACK IS NOW IN TWO PLACES, BY THE AIR BAG AND STEERING WHEEL AND HAS COMPLETELY RELEASED SO IT VIBRATES THE WHOLE TIME I'M DRIVING. JUST THIS WEEK THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS NOW COMING ON TOO.
DASH BOARD PANEL HAS CRACKED OPEN FOR UNKNOWN REASONS CAUSING A SAFETY CONCERN WITH SHARP EDGES AND OPENINGS THAT ALLOW OPPORTUNITIES FOR FOREIGN OBJECTS/ITEMS TO ENTER VEHICLE CONTROLS AND INSTRUMENTATION PANELS. PASSENGER AIR BAG AT DASH BOARD SEEMS DEFECTIVE DUE TO CRACKED DASH BOARD PANELS AND ASSOCIATED TRIM PIECES. IT APPEARS THAN UPON AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT THERE WOULD BE POSSIBLE ADDITIONAL OCCUPANT/PASSENGER INJURIES DUE TO THE BROKEN/LOOSE FITTING/SUB-STANDARD DASH BOARD PLASTIC PIECES.
DASHBOARD CRACKING THROUGH OUT THE TOP OF THE WHOLE DASHBOARD INCLUDING SURROUNDING THE AIRBAG ON PASSENGER SIDE. I WAS TOLD THIS HAPPENS IN MULTIPLE TRUCKS AT THE DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS SHOWN PROOF
THE DASH HAS CRACKED ALL AWAY THE CROSS OF THE PAD AND NOW HAS CRACKED PRODUCING JAGGED PLASTIC SHARDS AROUND THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT
2 DASH BOARD CRACKS - BELIEVE CAUSE IS EXCESSIVE VIBRATION OF DASHBOARD DUE TO POOR DESIGN BY GMC. ONE CRACK RUNS APPROX 5-6" DIRECTLY ABOVE SPEEDOMETER WHICH COULD EVENTUALLY AFFECT THE AIRBAGS AND SPEEDOMETER FUNCTION. THE SECOND CRACK IF ON PASSENGER SIDE ABOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT.
TAKATA RECALL DASH BOARD HAS CRACKED DESPITE BEING WELL CARED FOR.GMC WANTS $1500 TO REPLACE! A CRACKED DASHBOARD, PARTICULARLY ONE THAT IS DAMAGED AROUND THE PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG, CAN YIELD FLYING PROJECTILES IN THE EVENT THAT AN ACCIDENT TRIGGERS THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY.
THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACK COMPLETELY AT THE AIRBAG AND OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE SUV HAS DEVELOPED THESE CRACKS OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS. CRACKS KEPT EXPANDING UNTIL TOTAL SEPARATION HAS OCCURRED IF LOOSE PIECES.
ON 12/27/18, I HEARD AN EXCESSIVE RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE DASH. WHEN I PARKED THE CAR, AND THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, I LEANED FORWARD TO SEE IF THERE WAS SOMETHING ON THE DASH, AND NOTICED THE DASH HAD CRACKED OVER THE DRIVER'S SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL / AIRBAG. THE DASH ALSO CRACKED OVER THE LEFT SIDE ABOVE THE GLOVE BOX/AIRBAG AREA. THE CRACK WAS THE SOURCE OF THE RATTLING. THIS VEHICLE IS PARKED IN A GARAGE AND HAS NOT BEEN EXPOSED TO EXCESSIVE SUNLIGHT. NOR HAS THE VEHICLE EVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS). BECK AND MASTEN BUICK GMC NORTH (11300 DM 1960 W, HOUSTON, TX 77065, 281-469-5222) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
DASHBOARD CRACKED - GMC YUKON DENALI XL DASHBOARD IS CRACKING. CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY HAZARD OF THE DISPLACED DASHBOARD AND THE ABILITY OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY WITHOUT SENDING SHARDS OF DASHBOARD INTO THE PASSENGER'S FACE, NECK AND UPPER BODY.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE DOOR LOCKS BEGAN TO CYCLE, NAV SYSTEM AND RADIO ON AND OFF. AFTER STOPPED, REMOTE CAR LOCK INOPERATIVE, TRIED TO START VEHICLE AND THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF ANY ELECTRICAL POWER WITH THE KEY ON....I THOUGHT IS WAS A DEAD BATTERY. AFTER CYCLING THE IGNITION KEY SEVERAL TIMES, ELECTRICAL POWER CAME BACK TO 'NORMAL' AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME WITH MY WIFE AND GRANDDAUGHTER. THE SVC AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON AND I TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO THE GMC DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THE SERVICE ADVISER IMMEDIATELY KNEW OF THE PROBLEM.....BAD BATTERY CABLES THAT EITHER HAVE INTERNAL CORROSION OR BREAK. $594 REPAIR BILL TO FIX THE PROBLEM. HE SAID HE SEES ABOUT ONE VEHICLE PER WEEK WITH THIS PROBLEM AND THE ISSUE IS WELL PRESENTED ON YOUTUBE BY MANY VIDEOS DESCRIBING THE PROBLEM. SUBSTANDARD BATTERY CABLES ARE BEING USED ON THESE VEHICLES AND AFTER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME THEY EITHER BEGIN THE BREAK OR HAVE INTERNAL CORROSION AND BEGIN TO SHORT THE VEHICLES CONTROLLING COMPUTERS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC YUKON XL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER CONNECTOR FRACTURED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WIRE WAS DANGLING DUE TO THE SEPARATION FROM THE WELD POINT. KEYSER CADILLAC (LOCATED AT 4130 SHERIDAN DR, WILLIAMSVILLE, NY 14221, (716) 568-7045) WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR WINDSHIELD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
DASH IS CRACKED. NOT FROM ANY DAMAGE, IT JUST CRACKED ON IT'S OWN.
THE CAR SEAT WARMER IN THE BACK OF THE CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE OUR SEVEN YEAR OLD WAS ASLEEP IN THE CAR. HE WAS IN HIS BOOSTER SEAT. THE SEAT WARMER WAS NOT ON. (THIS WAS IN AUGUST 2018.) WE SMELLED A BURNING SMELL AND THERE WAS A SMOLDERING FLAME UNDER HIS LEGS. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY, NOT IN MOTION. IT WAS IDLING IN A PARKING LOT.
THE SEAT CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE THE CAR WAS RUNNING. MY CHILD WAS SLEEPING AND SMOKE WAS COMING OUT FROM UNDER HIS BOOSTER SEAT AND HIS LEGS. I CONTACTED GMC AND THEY SAID THIS HAD NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE AND WE SHOULD CONTACT OUR INSURANCE COMPANY, THOUGH, WHEN WE TOOK IT TO THE TECHNICIANS AT THE DEALERSHIP (FOR THE INSPECTION), THEY SAW WHERE TWO WIRES WERE ON TOP OF ONE ANOTHER AND THE SEAT HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. I SEARCHED ONLINE AND THERE ARE MANY STORIES OUT THERE, I AM JUST NOT SURE IF PEOPLE ARE REPORTING THEM---OR IF THEY REALIZE THAT GMC MAKES SIMILAR CARS SO CADILLAC, SIERRAS, AND OTHER CARS COME FROM THE SAME MOLD.
AS YOU'RE ALREADY AWARE OF FROM SEVERAL PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS, THE DASH BOARD IN OUR VEHICLE IS CRACKED OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, AND IS ALSO CRACKED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DASH. IT IS SPREADING OVER THE ENTIRE DASH AND COMPROMISED THE AIRBAG SYSTEM, WHICH IS TRULY A HAZARD. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. AND, THIS IS NOT A RESULT OF HEAT CRACKING THE DASHBOARD B/C WE KEEP OUR CAR IN THE GARAGE AND HARDLY DRIVE IT DURING THE WEEK! THIS IS DEFINITELY A DEFECT WITH GMC AND I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY WON'T RECALL IT!! EVEN TOYOTA HAS THE SAME ISSUE, EXCEPT THEY OFFERED A RECALL AND ALLOWED OWNERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO GET THE ISSUE FIXED. THIS IS TRULY A SAFETY HAZARD AND I'M SO DISAPPOINTED IN GMC. CHEAP AND WON'T FIX THEIR MANUFACTURE MISTAKE!!!
I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS YUKON DENALI AND ABOUT ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO, A CRACK DEVELOPED ON MY DASH. I'M NOT SURE HOW IT HAPPENED, BUT ONE DAY, I JUST NOTICED IT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT I BOUGHT IT FROM, AND THEY QUOTED ME ABOUT $2000 TO REPAIR IT. IT JUST KEEPS GETTING WORSE, AND I'M AFRAID THAT THE AIR BAG COULD DEPLOY ON IT'S ON SOMETIME BECAUSE THE CRACK KEEPS GETTING BIGGER. I ALSO NOW HAVE A CRACK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DASH ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL.
TAKATA RECALL. I AM UNABLE TO GET THE AIRBAG REPLACED DUE TO A LACK OF REPLACEMENT UNITS. I CALLED TODAY AND THE DEALER(DAYS CHEVROLET) DOES NOT HAVE REPLACEMENT UNITS. MY ORIGINAL NOTICE FROM GMC IS DATED JULY 2016. I DISCUSSED THE ISSUE WITH GMC IN JANUARY 2017 AND THEY SAID NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. I HAVE CALLED THREE OTHER TIMES IN THE PERIOD OF TIME UP TO NOW. NO PARTS. WHY IS THERE NOT A PLAN TO ADDRESS THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE? IT IS NOW TWO YEARS FROM THE FIRST NOTICE. *JS
THE DASH BOARD WHERE THE AIR BAG IS LOCATED CRACKED AS WELL AS THE OTHER SIDE OF THE -DASHBOARD NEAR THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THERE ARE MULTIPLE REPORTS ONLINE DOCUMENTING THE ISSUE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS UNABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT RECENTLY RECEIVED A POSTCARD FROM TK HOLDINGS, ALERTING HIM THAT THEY FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
DASHBOARD ON DRIVERS SIDE AND DASHBOARD ABOVE THE AIRBAG ON PASSENGER SIDE ARE BOTH CRACKED IN TWO SEPARATE PLACES WITHOUT ANY APPLIED PRESSURE OR EXPOSURE TO HARSH CONDITIONS. CRACKS CONTINUE TO INCREASE/LENGTHEN WHEN DRIVEN I.E. ACROSS TRACKS, BUMPS OR ON SMOOTH SURFACE ROADS.
MY DASH IS CRACKED ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT GAUGES AND IF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYS THIS WILL HAVE DASH BOARD PIECES FLYING IN THE CABIN DUE TO THE CRACKS
CRACKING DASHBOARD ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. IT'S CRACKED IN A WAY THAT OF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS THE PLASTIC DASH WILL DEPLOY WITH IT AND IT COULD IMPALE SOMEONE
ON THE INTERSTATE DRIVING AT NIGHT HAD THE SUNROOF EXPLODE. NOTHING HIT THE CAR. JUST A VERY LOUD EXPLOSION AND HEARD GLASS SHATTER OVER THE TOP OF VEHICLE.
TAKATA RECALL, MANUFACTURE REFUSES TO REMEDY THE RECALL EVEN THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE DEALERSHIP ( AS INDICATED BY THE PART DEPARTMENT OF THE DEALERSHIP)
VEHICLE DASHBOARD CRACKED ALL ACROSS. VEHICLE ALWAYS PARKED IN GARAGE. NEVER IN ACCIDENT. NOTICED SUMMER OF 2018. REPORTED TO DEALERSHIP. IN PROCESS OF TRYING TO GET COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE A RECALL AFTER READING ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS.
TAKATA RECALL: THE DASHBOARD ON OUR VEHICLE IS CRACKED AT THE AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND AT THE STEERING WHEEL ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THERE IS ALSO A TAKATA RECALL WHICH GMC DOES NOT HAVE A REMEDY. THESE 2 ITEMS HAVE POTENTIAL TO BE DISASTROUS WHEN COMBINED TOGETHER. THE INFLATOR EXPLODING AND THE DASH BOARD BREAKING INTO PIECES AND SENT THROUGHOUT THE CABIN. WE ARE ASKING FOR GMC TO REPLACE THE INFLATOR AND REPLACE THE DASHBOARD.
POWER LIFTGATE WON'T OPEN, UNLOCK OR LOCK. ACTUATOR HAS BEEN CHANGED ALONG WITH BOTH STRUTS. COULD IT BE THE POWER LIFT GATE MODULE?
MY 2011 GMC YUKON XL DENALI HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT SINCE IT WAS NEW. CRACKS HAVE DEVELOPED ON THE DASHBOARD, AND ACCORDING TO MULTIPLE SOURCES, IS THE RESULT OF A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE CRACKS MAY BE MORE THAN JUST AN UNSIGHTLY COSMETIC ISSUE AND MAY PROVE PROBLEMATIC IF THE VEHICLE WERE TO BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE CRACKS OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, INSIDE THE GARAGE. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO GM ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND AVENUES. EACH TIME, I AM EITHER IGNORED OR TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS OUT FROM UNDER WARRANTY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A GM DEALER AND WAS QUOTED A PRICE OF $1,000 TO REMEDY THE ISSUE. BETWEEN THE DASH BOARD CRACKS AND THE TAKATA INFLATOR RECALL, FOR WHICH A SOLUTION HAS YET TO BE ISSUED, I AM GRAVELY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY AND INTEGRITY OF THIS VEHICLE.
TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK TUBE BREAKS EASILY. VECHILE WAS STATIONARY
ABS BRAKE PROBLEM. REOCCURRING ENGINE PROBLEMS SUCH AS MISFIRE, LOW CYLINDER COMPRESSION, AFM LIFTERS, CAMSHAFT, FUEL MIX AND BRAKE SWITCH CAUSES CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. THIS CAUSES STABILITRAK AND TRACTION CONTROL TO BE TURNED OFF. DISCUSSIONS WITH SEVERAL MECHANICS INDICATED A NEW ENGINE WOULD BE THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. EVEN WITH A NEW ENGINE, THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUES TO BE "ON" AND STABILITRAK AND TRACTION CONTROL CONTINUE TO GO ON AND OFF, AND LIVING IN MI IT IS CONCERNING ME THAT I MAY LOSE THESE BRAKING FUNCTIONS WHEN I NEED THEM. GMC HAS OFFERED NO SOLUTIONS. MANY, MANY FORUM DISCUSSIONS ON THE WEB INDICATE OWNERS SUCH AS ME SHOULD CREATE A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT, AS THERE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. THE STABILITRAK AND TRACTION CONTROL GOES ON AND OFF AS I AM DRIVING, TYPICALLY ON A HIGHWAY.
CRACKED DASH
TRUCK STARTED SPUTTERING WHILE DRIVING. I HAD IT TOWED HOME AND THEN TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THE LIFTERS IN THE ENGINE WERE BROKE AND THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE CAN SHAFT. TOLD ME THIS IS NORMAL AND HAPPENS TO VEHICLES LIKE MINE REGULARLY. I HAVE ONLY OWNED THE TRUCK THREE YEARS AND HAVE MAINTAINED IT WELL WITH LOW MILEAGE.THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE $6700 TO FIX. WHEN I COMPLAINED, THE REP TOLD ME $5500. I ASKED FOR A SUPERVISOR WHO THEN STATED THAT GMC WOULD OFFSET THE COST AND IT WAS NOW $3311. IT WOULD SEEM THAT IF THIS IS A REGULAR OCCURRENCE IN VEHICLES LIKE MINE, GMC WOULD DO SOMETHING TO ENSURE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN. IN ADDITION THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY AVAILABLE FOR THE TAMARA INFLATOR.
TWO DASHBOARD CRACKS. FIRST CRACK LOCATED AT PASSENGER AIRBAG AND SECOND CRACK LOCATED ON DASHBOARD ABOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ON DRIVER SIDE. DASHBOARD MAY BREAK APART IF AIRBAG EVER DEPLOYED.
'TAKATA RECALL" GM SAYS IT HAS NO RESOLUTION FOR AIRBAG RECALL AS OF 2/6/18. ALSO DASH BOARD HAS 2 CRACKS AT PASSENGER AIRBAG. I AM CONCERNED DASH BOARD MAY INJURE PASSENGER IF AIRBAG INFLATES. GM CASE# 8-3791360606

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC YUKON DENALI XL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR HATCH CAME DOWN WITH FORCE WITHOUT WARNING. THE LATCH BUTTON WAS APPLIED, BUT FAILED TO PREVENT THE HATCH FROM COMING DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. *TT *TR
CAME OUT TO MY GARAGED YUKON TO FIND A SMALL CRACK IN THE DASH AT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I NOW HAVE ANOTHER VERY LARGE CRACK IN FRONT OF THE STEERING WHEEL. THERE IS ALSO A SECOND CRACK NEAR THE AIRBAG WHICH HAS CREATED A TRIANGLE PIECE OF PLASTIC THAT IS NEARLY LOOSE AND LOOKS LIKE IT COULD FALL IN THE DASH OR BECOME A PROJECTILE IF THE AIRBAG WAS TO DEPLOY.
AIR BAGS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR YEARS AND THEY HAVE YET TO REPLACE THEM EVEN AFTER ACQUIRING AT MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS.
THE DASH HAS CRACKED IN TWO PLACES. ONE CRACK IS ABOVE DRIVE CONSOLE AND THE OTHER CRACK IS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THERE IS A SAFETY CONCERN OVER THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. IN ADDITION, THE CRACKED DASHBOARD MAKES TERRIBLE NOISES. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 64,000 MILES AND HAS BEEN STORED MOST OF THE TIME IN THE GARAGE. THERE WAS NO INCIDENT THAT CAUSED THE CRACKS, THEY JUST APPEARED ONE DAY MID JANUARY 2018.
TAKATA RECALL - PURCHASED FROM A DEALER AND CALLED TWO OTHER DEALERS AND NONE HAVE PARTS FOR THE RECALL
TAKATA RECALL AFTER RECEIVING A NOTICE REGARDING THE RECALL I CONTACTED A LOCAL GMC DEALER. I WAS TOLD THAT TAKATA HAS FILED CHAPTER 11 IN THE U.S. SO THE PARTS FOR THIS POTENTIALLY DEADLY AIRBAG RECALL ARE NOT AVAILABLE WHILE "THINGS GET SORTED OUT". THAT DOESN'T MAKE ME FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE AS THIS IS A VEHICLE DRIVEN BY ME OR MY WIFE WITH OUR 3 CHILDREN INSIDE.
TRAVELLING AT SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY (60 MPH) , THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND A STABILITRAK MESSAGE IS SHOWN. POWER TO THE ENGINE IS DRAMATICALLY REDUCED. CAR SHAKES VIOLENTLY AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY. A SECONDAY MESSAGE APPEARS TO CHECK THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY. VERY CLOSE TO GETTING REAR ENDED. THIS IS A MAJOR DEFECT THAT HAS TO BE ADDRESSED. IT HAS ALSO OCCURRED ON A 2014 GMC YUKON XL THAT WE OWN.
VERY LARGE CRACK IN THE DASHBOARD EXTENDING FROM PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG TO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THIS IS DEFECT IN DESIGN/CONSTRUCTION AND WILL AFFECT PASSENGER AIR BAG EFFECTIVENESS AND SAFETY OF OCCUPANTS IF PIECES OF THE DASH ARE PROJECTED OUTWARDS AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. GMC NEEDS TO INITIATE A VOLUNTARY RECALL IMMEDIATELY.
TAKATA RECALL. GMC STILL REFUSES TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS IN MY VEHICLE.
THE DASHBOARD HAS LARGE CRACKS OVER THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND IN THE AREA OF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. THE DASH FLOPS UP AND DOWN WHEN DRIVING. CONCERN IS CRACK COULD PREVENT PASSENGER AIR BAG FROM DEPLORING DURING A ACCIDENT OR RIPPING THE AIR BAG AT DEPLOYMENT. ALSO LIQUID COULD ACCIDENTALLY GO THRU CRACK OVER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CAUSING ELECTRICAL SHORT OR FIRE. THE CRACK CONTINUES TO GET LARGER AND LARGER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC YUKON DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD IN THE VEHICLE HAD SUDDENLY CRACKED. ONE CRACK WAS ON THE CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AND THE OTHER WAS LOCATED ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CRACKS MAY INTERFERE WITH THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS PRIOR TO THE CRACKS APPEARING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 87,000.
2011 GMC YUKON DENALI HAS 2 CRACKS ON THE DASHBOARD POSING A SAFETY CONCERN. ONE CRACK IS AT THE CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND THE OTHER IN FRONT OF THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS DEFECT THAT HAS YET TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE NHTSA OR GMC. THE CONCERN IS AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND PIECES OF THE CRACKED DASH BECOMING PROJECTILES. I NOTICED THIS WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION IN DECEMBER OF 2017
