NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
While driving on the highway at approximately 65 mph, the car warning system beeped and displayed several error messages, including problems with the power steering, braking, and road mitigation systems. I was told to get my car to the dealer immediately. I also noticed that the car seemed to be losing acceleration power. As I was driving in traffic, my main concern was to get the car off the highway ASAP, so I was not able to note all the warnings. I did exit the highway, coasting off an exit ramp, having lost all or most power. After shutting off and restarting the car, all messages cleared except the warning of a potential brake failure, and I think the TPMS warning. I was now able to drive the car home with full power. The brakes, steering, and everything else seemed fine. After getting home, I shut off the car for about 30 minutes and when I restarted it, all errors had cleared. The car then drove fine and after the weekend, I took it to my dealer. They ran the error codes, and there were some codes, but nothing indicating a problem. They said it was fine to drive, but to let them know if I had additional problems.
All of a sudden, the accelerator pedal stopped working --- all I really know is that the car wouldn't accelerate, regardless of how much I pressed on the pedal, and the car had to roll to a stop. A bunch of warning lights came on about the brakes malfunctioning, but I don't remember if the brakes actually stopped working (I was more focused on the fact that I couldn't accelerate --- this happened right as I was starting to move after a red light turned green). Thankfully this happened when I was going slowly in a residential area --- if I had been on the freeway and unable to get over to the shoulder before the car came to a halt, this could have caused a serious/fatal accident (or if the brakes really had stopped working, even in a residential area I could have crashed into something/someone). The car remained unresponsive until I turned the whole thing off and on again, at which point it started working like normal (although still with the warnings). I took the car to my dealership and they ran diagnostics, but they couldn't find anything and couldn't reproduce the problem when they drove it around, so they just shrugged and said I should "keep an eye on it and see if it happens again". So unfortunately I don't know what caused the problem or what to inspect (but I'm certainly not going to keep driving the car and risk this happening again).
From the beginning of my lease, the vehicle experienced repeated malfunctions of its safety and proximity sensor systems, including warning alerts and sensor-related failures. The vehicle was taken multiple times to an authorized Honda dealership for diagnosis and repair. Despite these repeated service visits, the safety sensor issues were never properly repaired or resolved. I later discovered that the vehicle was subject to an active safety recall, which was never disclosed to me, even though the vehicle was serviced at the dealership on multiple occasions. Subsequently, the vehicle was involved in an accident that resulted in a total loss. Based on the unresolved sensor failures and the undisclosed recall, I believe these safety defects may have contributed to the accident. This complaint is submitted to report a serious safety concern and to request that NHTSA investigate whether similar vehicles may present a broader safety risk.
“Brake system problem” was shown on the dashboard along with tire pressure problems and other messages. After the message, I couldn’t accelerate nor brake my vehicle. It happens randomly for 3 times and they fixed it for 2 times. The second fix last 5 months before I have this issue again in October 2024.
I have had an active safety recall going on five months that has no current fix and after contacting the dealership, they are still unsure of the timeframe of a fix.
I was pulling out of a parking lot when suddenly the car reported a problem with the braking system along with a number of other warnings. I lost all acceleration as I entered an intersection. I power cycled the car a couple of times before it returned to normal, and I was able to continue driving.
I was stopped and car completely shut down felt a lurch like I was hit and all systems shut down. I was able to coast to the side and restart car after apx 30 sec. Continued to state take car to dealership braking malfunction. Per dealership car went into limp mode and needed a software update. Safety would be extremely at risk if I had been driving on the freeway
I am a [XXX]. I contacted Honda customer service to escalate my situation. I have not yet received help from the Winston-Salem Honda dealer as of 9:00 a.m. on 10/18/24. I have complained to the Department of Justice's consumer protection division. I have sent documentation. I reached out on Facebook. I was last contacted by Dallas, even though Mike's name is on my last paperwork. This is suspicious. My rubber on my door has been replaced. My seatbelt was missing a bolt. Tires with regular, correct maintenance from the dealer should last 30,000 miles. Because Honda of Winston-Salem did not follow the schedule, after bringing my car to them many times, I have to replace my four tires at under 22,000 miles. I have lost 30% of my tires' lifespan unnecessarily due to a lack of regular balancing and rotation, despite multiple visits to Honda of Winston-Salem. My last recall letter arrived over 60 days ago. My seatbelt, CVT transmission, and engine have recalls. My window tint has faded, my door is failing, my brakes have issues, there are electrical issues, and the ceiling is sagging. My Hondalink is incorrect. I asked for help with car features and I paid $3000 up front extended warranty, but they refused to assist. Today I was driving my 2023 Honda Accord Touring hybrid with 8k miles on it. Out of the blue, a bunch of warning messages / lights came on ("Brake System Problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer."; also tire warning symbol). Car automatically decelerated (wouldn't accelerate). This would have been very dangerous happening on a freeway.
Power system failed. Vehicle will not start. Error message appears “Power System Failure.” Vehicle will only start after 10-15 minutes of repeated attempts to turn on. No battery issues or other mechanical failures are indicated. Incident has happened 2-3 times in a six month timeframe. If my vehicle won’t start, I am unable to get out of potentially dangerous situation (ie: being held up at gunpoint, weather situation, medical emergency, bears, train, etc).
The contact owns a 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The driver pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway; however, the vehicle failed to restart. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the hybrid charging system, resulting in a depleted hybrid battery. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 10,000. The VIN was not available.
Traveling on the expressway at approximately 70mph the dashboard/instrument panel started lighting up with warnings regarding tires, braking, engine, etc, and the car/power started shutting down, could not accelerate, steering and braking became difficult, fortunately I was able to access an off ramp at which point the car was stopped with multiple cars and semis behind me. The emergency flasher did work which most likely saved us from being rear-ended. We turned the car off and then turned it back on twice and then it started up again.
The car stalled suddenly with hand brake pulled automatically while driving at a slow speed at a parking lot. The information center shows brake indicator flashing in red with description statements that include the brake might have reduced power and how to restart the car. Was able to start the car after releasing the hand brake and drive without issue. Sent the car to dealer’s service department but they couldn’t recreate the symptom and was told there is no recall for this issue.
Steering rack making noise when turning steering wheel either direction. Something is not right! The steering rack should be recalled. My vehicle is too new to be having issues. Actually, so many people are having issues with this. This should be recalled ASAP. Definitely a SAFETY issue.
I bought a Honda Accord Hybrid on June 15, 2023. The steering wheel made a noise in 2024. I repaired it once, but the problem of the steering wheel making a noise reappeared in June this year 2025. The steering wheel problem has always existed.
Subject: Complaint Regarding Steering Noise Issue on 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Dear Honda Customer Service, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the steering issue on my 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid, purchased in June 2023. •In July 2024, when my vehicle had around 29,540 miles, I first reported a steering noise issue to the dealership. At that time, the dealer only applied lubrication, which did not resolve the root cause. •In July 2025, when the mileage was around 60,440 miles, the same steering noise reappeared. The dealership replaced the right inner tie rod and performed an alignment, but the noise persisted. Later, they concluded that the steering rack would eventually need replacement. •I also noticed that this issue only occurs in extremely hot weather (high summer temperatures around 90°F). Once the temperature drops to around 70–80°F, the noise disappears completely. Because of this seasonal nature, the problem is very hard to reproduce during normal conditions, and it was not fully diagnosed while the car was still under warranty. Now, Honda has denied goodwill repair, stating that the vehicle has exceeded 60,000 miles. However, I strongly believe this problem started during the warranty period (July 2024) and was not properly resolved by the dealer, despite multiple visits. The issue is clearly related to a defect that only appears in extreme temperatures, which is beyond my control as a customer. This is extremely disappointing, as I have always trusted Honda’s reputation for quality and reliability. A steering problem is a serious safety concern, and denying repair based solely on mileage—when the defect clearly originated under warranty—feels unfair and unprofessional. I am requesting that Honda reconsider this case and provide goodwill repair coverage for the steering rack replacement. If this matter is not addressed, I will have no choice but to escalate my complaint to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA),
came to stop sign. As I turned the corner, engine died in the intersection, all warning lights and dashboard warnings came on. I was dead in the intersection. I had to put car into park, turn the car off, turn car back on and then I could start the car and move out of the intersection to the side of the road. All warning lights and dashboard warnings were on. I have pic of warnings from last event (of 4). able to drive car, everything was normal except brake warnings was on the whole trip (30 min) but brakes worked fine. Parked car for 2 hours and when I came out, all warnings were NOT displayed. This has happened at about the following dates and mileage on the car BETWEEN events. Car purchased new 2/25/2023. First event was about 7/16/2023 at about 2994 miles. Second event was about 2/20/2024 at about 4978 miles since first event (7972 total miles). Third event was about 6/20/2024 at about 3885 miles since 2nd event (11857 total miles). Fourth event was on 11/9/2024 at exactly 3970 miles since 3rd event (15827 total miles. Each time, I have taken it into a dealer. They did a software update after 3rd event and after 4th event, replaced ICM module (ignition control module). Honda factory person worked with dealership after 3rd and 4th event. To date, we do not have any evidence that replacing the ICM has fixed the problem but also no evidence it has not fixed the problem as the events seem to happen every 3,000 to 4,000 miles. I have lots of documentation I have sent to Honda and have a case number with them (13997837). I have asked Honda to replace the car. They started the process but just this week in a call, they said they were ending that process for now. Not sure if I was able to ADD copies of my dealership invoices, my own correspondence with Honda. If they are not on this document, call me and I will send them to you or email them to you.
The contact's son owns a 2023 Honda Accord. While the contact's son was driving at highway speeds, the steering wheel seized with an unknown message displayed on the instrument panel. The contact's son used excessive force to steer the vehicle off to the shoulder of the highway. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where the mechanic discovered that the power steering gear box was defective; and the steering gear box was replaced. Recently, the contact's son stated that there was an abnormal tapping sound coming from the steering wheel. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was notified, and an appointment was scheduled. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 12,906.
Driving at low speeds in Somerville MA on [XXX]. 1 yr old car with about $6k miles. It was a hot day. Front display lit up with warning about brakes being degraded and take to dealer. It also showed tire warnings, and traction control warnings. I believe acceleration was greatly reduced. Pulled over. Turned car off and on, and most of the errors cleared, except a brake warning. I drove 5 minutes home. Power cycled again, and the brake warning disappeared. I put a code reader on it, and it showed numerous communications issues. Problem did not repeat. I took to dealer. They confirmed the codes, and communicated with Honda corporate. Honda confirmed they were aware of the problem, but they do not have a solution yet. Google Search showed that it is an isolated problem. If it had happened at highway speeds, it could have resulted in a major accident Attaching code report to show communications errors INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
While driving the vehicle, it showed all the abs braking error and cycled through a few other errors and the car basically shut down. Car acceleration slows to a stop, and pressing the accelerator is useless. Had to cycle the power twice before all cleared and the car was drivable
This has happened on two separate occasions, with our purchased-new 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid, which has about 30,000 miles on it. We've had no other issues with this car prior to these two events described below, which happened within in one week of each other. FIRST EPISODE: I was driving on a 4 lane road separated by a median, moving straight ahead at around 30MPH, when suddenly, without any warning from any of the car systems, the displays went completely dark, I was unable to accelerate at all, and had to coast-over into a shopping center parking spot. Once I rolled into the lot (I still had steering), I placed it into park. I waited a few minutes, pushed down the brake and started the car without incident. We took it to a Honda Dealership, but they stated that because there were no warning messages we saw displayed, they would be unlikely to be able to reproduce this, and given we would have had to leave the car for several days without a loaner, we chalked it up to some kind of fluke-glitch. If this had happened on a freeway at higher speeds, this could have caused a serious life-threatening situation (being completely without power, unable to accelerate in fast moving traffic). SECOND EPISODE: This time, I was making a left hand turn and accelerating from a side street onto a main thoroughfare when the car once again lost all ability to accelerate, all screens went dark, and I coasted to the side of the road. There were no warning lights or messages prior to this happening, and once again all display screens were completely dark. Once I coasted to a stop, I put the car in Park, put my foot on the brake, and the car started right up. Had there been any cars coming in either direction, this loss of all ability to accelerate (and all power) could have placed me and other drivers in a serious life-threatening situation. We have an appointment on 6-6-24 with a local Honda Dealership, and it appears others have had this same problem.
When overtaking Semi-trucks on the passenger side, as I approach the truck's cab, my vehicle turns off cruise control and sometimes applies the brakes while the vehicle icon will show an obstetrical is in my lane. On a few occasions, the emergency brake bar flashes and the car decelerates. Once I react (usually by applying the gas) the warnings go away. When I called Honda, they said to go to the dealer. The dealer states the vehicle is within specs and there is nothing they can do.
235-40-19 Bridgestone stock tires wore out before 25,000 miles causing wheemls to bed easily. Had to repurchase wheel replacements and new tires after 1 year of purchase
3 wheels defected, causing uneven wear and tear on tires that have 25,000 miles
Twice this has happened to me. Yesterday, I was driving on a local road, around 45 to 50 mph. Suddenly, many warning lights came on (see photos) including that power steering was reduced, electric parking brake system issue, and TPMS issue. The car felt heavy to drive, but I still had control. I pulled over and turned off the car. After a few minutes, I turned on the car, and the warnings were gone and it drove normally. The hybrid battery was well-charged, so I don't think this was the problem. The previous time was around 2 months ago. That time I had to turn the car off and on twice before the warnings went away. I had taken the car to the Honda mechanic, but they found nothing wrong.
This happened on [XXX] at roughly [XXX] pm. I bought the new 2023 hybrid accord ex-l in June 2023 and the car only had 12413 miles. I was driving in Slidell, LA along [XXX] road towards [XXX]. I was driving 45 mph with adaptive cruise control. Suddenly there were lots of warning lights on. I don't really remember clearly how many warning lights since I was shocked. But I think that the "check engine", "tire pressure", "road departure", "traction", and "brake" were on. It was like fire work and at the same time, the car was losing power and the power steering was becoming stiff. Luckily there were no cars behind me and I was right by the entrance of a subdivision. I was able to turn into the entrance of the subdivision and the car basically stopped by the stop sign, kind of like dead. I was blocking the road and had to restart to car. But luckily I was able to restart and then there was only one warning messages left, the brake (please see photo). It says " Brake system problem, Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer". It was after 7 pm and I didn't think the repair department was open. So I took a photo and slowly drove to Abita Spring. After parked my car for maybe two hours and I then restarted the car, everything seems ok. No warning lights at all. So I drove back home. Was busy on [XXX] and [XXX] (Wednesday and Thursday), finally went to the dealer on Friday, [XXX]. There was no codes and the dealer cannot do anything even after showing the photo. Was told to pull over to the dealer and they need the code. It's been two weeks and the car seems fine. But if someone drives on highway, ~70 mph, this can be fatal. And HONDA needs to address this! This is in reference to the current recall on my vehicle for the front seatbelts. I have called a few dealerships over the last few months trying to get it fixed. At first they said there was no info about what to do, then followed by the "theres no parts" right now so there's nothing that can be done. I was able to finally take it in to get fixed as the service advisor told me that they are able to fix it. A few days passed and they told me "actually we dont have the parts to fix it" and told me that they wouldn't even test if it passed or failed (needing repair or not) becuase if it failed they would not be able to give me the car back for safety concerns. If it is such a safety concern then I believe that I shouldn't be driving the car at all. I just have to "deal with it" and take the risk that my car might or might not be affected and in turn if I get in an accident it could cause me more harm. I feel that at this point, about 6 months after the recall was announced, if it cannot be fixed the car as whole needs to be recalled / bought back and not put customers in a position to keep wondering when this is going to get fixed.
My 2023 car has 850 miles on it I was at a stop waiting for a train to pass when all warning dashboard lights came on. The brake would not work and the gas would not work. I turned the car off and restarted it and most lights went off except for the brake warning. I was able to turn around and take car to dealership. They said it was a faulty 12 volt battery and replaced it. I haven't had issues since but also haven't driven much. I have read of other honda owners having the similar issue.
Power Steering Failure. It is available for inspection upon request. After taking a right turn, the steering got stuck and did not come back as expected. This caused car crashing into the curb on the road, severely damaging front right front rim and tire. The steering alignments after the crash has been impacted - steering has to be tilted to make the car go straight. There are multiple warnings signs that include Brake System Warning, Vehicle Stability Assist System Problem, Hill Start Assist Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control System Problem, Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem I have video of all the warnings that I see. The warnings disappeared for sometime and then came back. I am taking the car to a Honda dealership for inspection and repair tomorrow.
Car stalled while coming to a stop and wouldn’t accelerate. Dashboard lit up with multiple errors including battery, ABS, engine, and traction control. Had to restart the car 3 time before being able to accelerate and pull off the road. All lights went off except brake light which stayed on and displayed error message “break system problem. Break performance may be reduced. See your dealer.” Vehicle available for inspection if requested.
The vehicle lost all ability to accelerate and a number of vehicle warning lights all activated at the same time. A number of warning messages started cycling through in the dash display including messages that there was a problem with power steering, braking, traction control, etc. upon restarting the vehicle, the vehicle drove normally. I took it into the Honda dealership the next morning, and they saw logs of the issue from the day before, but could not get the warnings to reappear. They said they could not replace any sensors or parts that they believe may be affected if the issue only occurred once as it was likely just a “glitch”. I expressed concerns about safety but they said too many parts would need to be replaced.
While driving on highway, dashboard lights for brakes, check engine, and TPMS all came on. Unable to accelerate vehicle and pulled over to side of highway. Shut off the vehicle then started it again. Light for brake system stayed on, other lights were off. Was able to reach destination. Upon return, no lights came on and vehicle was able to be driven home.
On December 29th, 2023, the display dashboard was filled with alarms, breaks, alignment, tire pressure, etc. I took it to the dealership, and they ran diagnostics and found nothing wrong. They told me to bring it next time it happens. On Tuesday, March 19th, at 7:15 a.m. I was driving to work in rush hour traffic. My display dashboard was filled with alarms, and my vehicle did not allow me to accelerate. I put on my hazards and attempted to reach the shoulder. I was fortunate to have the assistance of the truck behind me, which realized something went wrong and blocked me so I could get to the shoulder. Once on the shoulder, I took photos of the dashboard, turned the vehicle off, and restarted. I was able to accelerate. I called the dealership and took the car in. They are still unsure of the problem. They think it might be a "control module." The part is on backorder so that the potential fix will take a week to several months. The dealership wants me to pick up the vehicle and use it until the part comes in. I will not. They do not have a loaner. I am keeping it with them until the part comes in. I will also be hounding them to provide me with a loaner until they can do so. I refuse to drive a vehicle that could stop working at any moment. I will not be a danger to myself, my family, or others.
Summary: vehicle shutdown while my wife was driving 25 MPH, lost all engine propulsion and brakes failed. Thankfully, she was driving in community/residential street and could pull over safely, rolling to a stop in a side lot. If she were at higher speeds or on a freeway, my wife and others could have been seriously injured. Details: Alerts for the brakes system "Brakes system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer" and one involving tire pressure (cannot recall the exact message) came on at 35 MPH. She then came to a stop at a stop sign normally about 30-60 seconds later, then proceeded to accelerate again, continuing on her short route. At 25 MPH, the instrument cluster, all screens/electronics went black/off, propulsion stopped and brakes failed. She was able to steer the vehicle to a side lot as it rolled to a stop. After 20 minutes of attempts to restart the car, it finally restarted as if nothing happened. Further more, in between attempts to restart the car, the infotainment screen would randomly turn on, despite not having turned on the car at that time. Subsequently drove to dealer for inspection and awaiting response. Vehicle has had no other problems, only 5500 miles, just under 1 year old.
Report the problem many time to three different Honda dealerships . February 27 2024 at 9:58 am the did not stop, And three different lights coming on in the same time( the Honda dealership change Part call internal electric wave(Radar) It fixes the auto pilot but still some lights Pops up even I am not using the auto pilot And also sometimes while using the auto pilot the breaking by it self even the road clear and clean Also the change the emission sensor And also the change infotainment unit Please for safety reasons is There any way for Honda corporation to buy this car back Thank you very much and have a great day
Top right edge of shoe (Taos Women's Startup Sneaker) can be entrapped between top face of the accelerator pedal and lower edge of console trim panel, compromising car control. Seems to be shoe specific. Inspection available upon request. Problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. Problem caused by accelerator pedal/trim panel proximity and trim panel edge design. Problem has occurred twice.
While traveling at approximately 72 mph along the NYS Thruway at approximately 6pm on Februay 17, 2024 the vehicle's emergency braking system activated. There were no vehicles or obstuctions present at the time. The cruise control system was engaged at the time of the incident. The vehicle slowed immediately to approximately 59 mph. The dashboard flashed a yellow light indicating to the driver to immediately brake. This happened very quickly and the vehicle then resumed normal speed. At the time of the incident the vehicle was approaching an underpass that was several hundred feet ahead of the vehicle at the time. There has been no incidents prior to this one. I believe our safety was put at risk, as the sudden slowing of the vehicle could have caused a rear end collision. At this time, the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance agencies.
[XXX] My wife was driving this hybrid vehicle when it suddenly lost power in middle of road about a city block from starting location. There were no reasons for any automatic hazard overrides to become active. Dashboard displays stayed on but there was no accelerator response, and, importantly, there was an immediate loss of power steering and power brakes. Vehicle was traveling uphill and the emergency brakes had to be applied to arrest backward motion after coming to a stop. Judging by rate of slowdown, regenerative braking may also have been active. Rapidly following this, several diagnostic/warning messages (re brakes, steering, etc) started flashing in succession and then the message "see your dealer." About 10 minutes after this incident, my wife made one attempt to restart the car after turning the car off and then on. The response was a repeat of the flashing messages. I arrived at the scene about 20 minutes after this and the car restarted in a normal fashion. So, unfortunately, this is an intermittent, difficult-to-firmly-diagnose problem. Nevertheless, in view of the severe safety issues associated with this failure, we had the car towed to a Honda dealer. They found several items in the car's diagnostic system and, in consultation with Honda engineers, performed a software update for the ICM (ignition control module?) which, we were told, would address this problem, since other similar complaints had apparently been registered. The HUGE SAFETY ISSUE that this failure represents (loss of power along with steering assistance and braking assistance plus possibly more rapid deceleration) cannot be overestimated. We will be risking our lives to believe that the software fix truly addresses this problem. To believe that a software update is a sure fix is to believe that Honda knows the exact reason for this failure, and if they do, it is absurd that a software recall has not been issued. Please follow up on this matter with Honda. Thank you. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I was travelling across a bridge at 45-50 MPH when suddenly, every single warning light came on and the engine shut off. I had to coast over the bridge and into a parking lot. I turned the car completely off and back on and the warning lights went away. The next day, I took the car to the dealership I purchased it from where they performed tests and concluded that rain caused my vehicle to shut off, this is not the first time they have encountered a similar issue, and there is nothing they can do about it. This is not an acceptable answer, as I cannot worry about mine and my family's safety in the car every time it rains. If there was another vehicle close to me when this happened, there would have been an accident. If this is a common issue, Honda needs to address this ASAP.
The contact owns a 2023 Honda Acord. The contact stated that while driving on two occasions at 45 MPH, six unknown warning lights plus the brake system warning light illuminated. The vehicle began to lose motive power and stalled. The vehicle was restarted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 9,670.
I was backing out of my driveway and put the car into drive I accelerated and applied firm brakes to slow the car down cause I forgot my brother. Brake system warning and tire pressure warning popped up and stayed. Turned the car on and off and it was still there. The next day everything was back to normal. Took it to the dealer and they said no codes were stored in the cars computer. Literally the next day a code popped up for the lane keep assist and disappeared 3 seconds later( this never happens usually). Took it to the dealer again but they said they can’t do anything if they can’t replicate the problem themselves. I’m suspecting an electrical issue.
while running car warning light came on and vehicle stalls. Car wont go faster than 10 to 15 mph. This happen 4 times withing 5 months of purchase. First time took it to dealer and they were unable to find any problems. One more call dealer and dealer rep. said it probably was sensor or windshield camera but did not fix the problem. It happen again 2 times and took it to dealer and dealer said battery failed test and replace it. Same day after picking vehicle out of dealer it happen again. Purchase this vehicle as a relieable car for my daughter leaving to university and all it been is unsafe and unrealiable to her.
The car has stopped suddenly after taking a turn on the road. It gave a bunch of warnings on the speedometer display saying the TPMS failed, Brake System failed, Collision Detection failed, and contact the service center immediately. I restarted the car, the car started moving. The warnings were still there for some time and they started disappearing one by one.
On 1/21 at about 12:20pm, the gas pedal on my 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid stopped responding mid-drive with no warning while going uphill at 25mph. Had to stop in the road, put the car in park, then put it back in gear and the pedal worked again. After the pedal cut out, multiple alerts cycled on the dash, but only the gas pedal stopped working. This is the 3rd such incident since buying the car new on Apr 30: (1) June 25 going downhill at roughly 30mph on a neighborhood road. I shut off the car and restarted, and the pedal worked again. (2) Nov 16 on the freeway going 60-65mph. Pulled over, shut off, restarted, and the pedal worked again. I brought the car to my dealer each time. They found “loss of communication codes” but could not replicate the issue. They still have my car as of now and told me via text that "your Accord is communicating codes that we do not have a repair for yet." Unfortunately, they have closed my case without making repairs because they "have not found any issues in the system". This puts me and any drivers around me in danger, especially on the freeway.
On 1/21/2024, the car’s accelerator stopped responding and the car slowed to a stop. This happened twice previously on 6/25/2023, and again on 11/16/2023. Each time, the Honda dealer found “loss of communication codes,” and I was told via text on 1/25/2024 that “your Accord is communicating codes that we don’t have a repair for yet.” I filed a claim with American Honda on 1/31/2024 (case #13919840), and was told over the phone that nothing could be done to resolve the issue. Bernardi Honda gave me the vehicle back without any repairs. I still have the vehicle but I don’t drive it out of concern for my family’s safety.
I was driving , went to turn onto a street from another when my car lost power. Warnings popped up but I was so concerned about getting out of oncoming traffic, that I did not have time to read them, let alone take photos. I turned the engine off and restarted the car. It started without problem but a Brake System Problem alert popped up. It advised to take the car to the dealer. After turning the car off and on again, the alert went away. The car was towed to the dealer on 1-18-24. The dealer is working on it as of today, 1/31/24.
I bought a 2023 Honda accord sport hybrid June of 2023 two weeks after purchasing the vehicle it starting giving me issues such as the dash board and infotainment screen would freeze up and completely erase itself I took it to the dealership 2 times they told me that if it didn’t do it at the dealership there was nothing they could do so they sent me home with the car. A week later I notice the safety system lights were coming on and saying system not working see dealer service soon I took photos of it and showed it to them they once again told me if it did not duplicate it self there was nothing they could do. I took it to them for the 3rd time for the same issue with even more photos and a video and got the same response. The same day I was otw to work and the whole system shut it self down again and erased completely and the dash board froze up I took it to them again on the first week of January and got them same excuse. Then on January 16 I was otw to work traveling at 45-50 mph when the car completely cut off and locked the steering wheel up and said shift to P to restart engine then after restarting the battery and brake system stayed on for 2 day then I took it to them on January 18 and they told me they didn’t know what the issue was with the car but it could be wiring and the wiring harness. And when I asked them to replace the car because I no longer feel safe driving it they told me they don’t think they can replace the car
The contact owns a 2023 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while entering the vehicle, his wife noticed a vertical crack at the top right corner of the windshield. The contact inspected the windshield from the outside and there was no indentation of the glass around the crack that would indicate an impact on the windshield by road debris or any other hard object. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or a glass shop. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,600.
The warning lights dealing with the braking system malfunctions. All warning lights dealing with the Braking system come on the dash. The brakes failed to engage and the car began to roll backward on a hill had to use the emergency brakes to stop the car. This problem has happened twice since I had the car on 12/6/2023 at which time all warning lights came on dealing with the brake system and on 01/09/2024 both times the car was tested by the dealership and no codes were showing but I have a video of both incidents I provided. Both incidents were reported to the dealership on the same day of occurrence. 12/6/2023 and 01/09/2024. During this time the car was in EV mode and the acceleration would not respond as well. The only way to get the car back running normally was to turn the car off wait a few minutes and turn it back on. The photos attached will show speed and any other information needed because it is two different occasions of the same issue. In the second incident, a vehicle was behind me as the car began to roll back on a hill and I engaged the emergency brakes to avoid rolling back into the other vehicle.
