DURING ROUTINE SERVICE, MECHANIC FOUND AN OIL LEAK. LEAKED CAUSED BY A CRACK IN THE ENGINE BLOCK. CRACK CAUSED BY A BRACKET MOUNTED TO THE BLOCK THAT HOLDS UP THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THE HOLD WAS CLEANED OUT AND FILLED. OWNER FELLS THAT THIS DOES NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND ENGINE SHOULD BE REPLACED.
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A 45 MPH SIDE IMPACT COLLISION IN WHICH PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK UP, CAUSING OCCUPANT TO RECEIVE INJURIES. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.*AK

CONSUMER COMPLAINS THAT THE ABS INDICATOR LIGHT STILL ILLUMINATES WHEN CAR IS IN GEAR, OWNERS MANUAL ADVISED TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE HONDA DEALER FOR SERVICING, MECHANIC INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THE ABS MODULATOR WAS LEAKING, THE MODULATOR HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. *JG ODI STATED THAT THE BRAKING SYSTEM IS NOT ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY FAILURE OF THE ABS MODULATOR AND DENIED CONSUMERS PETITION. *SLC

THE AIR BAG DASH LIGHT HAS BEEN ILLUMINATE FOR AN EXTENDED AMOUNT OF TIME, THE DEALER REPAIRED THE PROBLEM AND THE CONSUMER IS REQUESTING SOME FINANCIAL COMPENSATION FOR THE REPAIR.
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS ARE INOPERATIVE MOST OF THE TIME, CONSUMER STATES THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE CAUSED BY THE INSTRUMENT PANEL BRIGHTNESS CONTROLS, WHEN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS ARE INOPERATIVE, FIDDLING WITH THE PANEL BRIGHTNESS CONTROLS WILL CAUSE THE LIGHTS TO AT LEAST BLINK.*JB

WHILE DRIVING AND UPON PRESSING BRAKES VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
IN JUNE OF 1999 I GOT INTO MY 1995 HONDA ACCORD TO START IT AND THE MOMENT IT TURNED OVER THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON. I CALLED ONE OF THE LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIPS (ONEAL HONDA) AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING MY CAR IN FOR THEM TO CHECK WHY THE ABS LIGHT WAS ON. ONEAL HONDA RAN MY CAR THROUGH SEVERAL TESTS AND AFTER 3 HRS. TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT AND THEY DID NOT KNOW WHY MY AIRBAG LIGHT WAS STAYING ON. THE MANAGER OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE WAS TO CHECK THE ELECTRICAL HARNES TO SEE IF ANYTHING SHOWED UP THERE. HE ALSO SAID THEY MAY NOT FIND A SOLUTION WITH THAT OPTION EITHER. HE WANTED TO CHARGE ME $500.00 FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION. I REFUSED TO HAVE THEM DO THE WORK.. THE FOLLOWING JULY, I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH BLUE/GRAY SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST PIPES. I HAD A SERVICE REPAIR MAIN CHECK IT OUT FOR ME . HIS FINDINGS WERE THAT IT PROBABLY HAD A CRACKED SEAL. MY CAR ONLY HAD 65000 MILES ON IT AT THAT TIME. I CALLED THE ONEAL DEALERSHIP AND TALKED TO THE SERVICE MAN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. HE SAID THAT WAS IMPOSSIBLE. HONDA'S DO NOT HAVE THOSE PROBLEMS WITH THAT LOW OF MILEAGE. NOT MORE THAN ONE YEAR LATER THE ANTI LOCK BRAKE SENSOR (ACCUMULATER) WENT OUT . I TOOK MY CAR TO JAY WOLFE HONDA TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. HE SAID THE BRAKE FLUID WAS GONE AND IT NEEDED A NEW SENSOR. I HAVE ALWAYS KEPT THE MAINTENANCE UP ON THIS CAR. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT A HONDA WITH SUCH LOW MILAGE SHOULD HAVE ALL THESE MECHANICAL FAILURES. I AM GETTING NO SATISFACTION FROM THE LOCAL DEALERSHIPS OTHER THAN A VERY EXPENSIVE QUOTES ON REPAIRS.*AK
WHEN THE KEY IS IN ON POSITION VEHICLE WOULD TAKE SEVERAL TIMES TO START. VEHICLE WAS STALLING AT ANY SPEED AND RESTARTING WHILE COASTING WITHOUT THE KEY BEING TURNED IN THE ON POSTION. ALSO, VEHICLE LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING AT SPEED 40-50MPH. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION.*AK
RECALL 96V217000 REPAIRS CONCERNING AIR BAG WAS PERFORMED WITH ITEM REPLACED IN 1999. PART HAS NOT BEEN WORKING AGAIN, AND HONDA HAS NOT SHOWN ANY RESPONSIBILTY OF REPLACEMENT. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. *AK
WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN A STANDING POSITION THERE WAS CONSTANT FLUID LEAKING UNDER VEHICLE. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. MECHANIC STATED THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM WAS LEAKING FLUID, AND WAS REPLACED.*AK
VEHICLE BROKE INTO PIECES IN A 60 MILE AN HOUR WRECK. I ALSO KNOW OF TWO OTHER WRECKS IN WHICH THE CARS BROKE APART.*AK
ABS LIGHT CAME ON. DEALER SAYS MODULATOR IS LEAKING AND MALFUNCTIONING ALTHOUGH ABS LIGHT GOES OUT WHEN FLUID IS ADDED. I BELIEVE MODULATORS ARE BEING REPLACED WHEN THE ONLY THING WRONG IS THE LEAK. COST IS $1100 TO REPLACE. A SAFETY FEATURE SUCH AS ABS SHOULD NOT BE FAILING. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL OR FIXED AT THE MANUFACTURER'S COST.*AK
ORIGINAL RIMS OF THE CAR 3 TO 4 YEARS LATER BEGAN LEAKING, NOT HOLDING AIR IN TIRES. CHROME WAS COMING OFF INSIDE THE WHEELS. OWNER REPLACED RIMS WITH SAME MODEL, AND THE REPLACED RIMSEXHIBITED SAME FAILURE. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. *AK

THE VEHICLE HIT A SEMI-TRUCK AT 30 MPH. AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTO BODY SHOP AND THE MECHANIC STATED THE AIR BAGS WERE FINE. *JB
WHILE DRIVING, THE DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE HIT A CURB AND THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. *JB
THE AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHICH INDICATED THERE WAS A PROBLEM. HONDA REFUSED TO FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF DATE. *NLM *SCC *JB
WHILE TRAVELING AT 35 MPH, CONSUMER STATES " LOST CONTROL ANOTHER VEHICLE HIT CONSUMER'S VEHICLE, AND THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AFTER THE ACCIDENT. AS A RESULT DRIVER'S HEAD WAS INJURED. *AK
FRONT BALANCER SHAFT SEAL HAS A FAILURE THAT CAUSE THE OIL TO LEAK ONTO THE ENGINE.*AK
WHEN DRIVING BRAKES WOULD INTERMITTENTLY NOT FUNCTION. MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS DEFECTIVE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE SRS LIGHT HAD ILLUMINATED. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM HAD NOT BEEN DETERMINED, HOWEVER THE DEALER HAD SERVICED THE VEHICLE ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS FOR THIS PROBLEM ALONE. *NLM THE BATTERY WAS CHANGED IN ORDER TO REMEDY THE SRS LIGHT PROBLEM. THE DEALER DIDN'T CHARGE FOR THE FIRST TWO BATTERY'S. *SCC *JB
A GAS LINE BROKE UNDERNEATH THE DRIVER'S DOOR. *AK THE BRAKE LINES HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO CORROSION. *SC
