WHILE DRIVING THE CONSUMER BEGAN TO HEAR NOISE, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A TECHNICIAN WHO TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION, THE CONSUMER HAD THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT AND IS REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT. NLM

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY CONSUMER LOST CONTROL. LEFT FRONT TIRE VALVE STEM SEPARATED FROM WHEEL. DEALER IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. *AK
ON 8/30/02 I TOOK MY CAR TO IMMKE NW HONDA TO HAVE THE IGNITION SWITCH REPLACED DUE TO A HONDA RECALL. I LEFT THE CAR AT THE DEALER FOR THE WEEKEND BECAUSE I WENT AWAY ON A TRIP. WHEN I RETURNED SUNDAY NIGHT I HAD A VOICE-MAIL MESSAGE FROM JASON WHITE SAYING THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH COULD NOT BE REPLACED AND THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT "BE TOUCHED" BECAUSE OF THE ANTI-THEFT DEVICE THAT WAS CONNECTED TO IT. HE SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT RECONNECT THE SECURITY SYSTEM AND WOULD RATHER LEAVE IT ALONE UNTIL I AGREED TO INCUR THE COST OF RECONNECTING IT. THE FOLLOWING DAY I WENT TO PICK-UP MY CAR WITH THE IDEA THAT I'D CALL HONDA ABOUT THIS. WHEN I RETURNED HOME, I FOUND THAT THE SECURITY SYSTEM IN MY CAR HAD BEEN DISABLED AND THE IGNITION SWITH WAS NOT REPLACED. I CALLED IMMKE ABOUT THIS AND HAVE CALLED THEM SEVERAL TIMES SINCE ONLY TO GET PEOPLE BLAMING OTHERS AND NOBODY TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE DEPT. MANAGER (TERRI NADER)DOES NOT RETURN MY CALLS. I CALLED HONDA AND THEY SAY ITS THEIR POLICY NOT TO RE-CONNECT AFTER MARKET SECURITY SYSTEMS. IN OTHER WORDS, THEY DON'T FIX THE PROBLEMS THEY CAUSE AFTER THEIR RECALL.*AK
WHEN CONSUMER BROUGHT VEHICLE IN FOR RECALL RELATING TO IGNITION SWITCH, DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT PERFORM RECALL REPAIRS STATING THAT CONSUMER IS REPONSIBLE FOR DISCONNECTING THE ALARM SYSTEM THAT WAS INSTALLED ON HIS VEHICLE. THE LEFT REAR END LINK THAT CONNECTS TO THE REAR ANTISWAY BAR BROKE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED. LAST YEAR THE RIGHT SIDE BROKE. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM BASED ON COMMENTS FROM THE GUY AT THE PARTS COUNTER. *AK
THE CONSUMER HAD RECEIVED SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 02V120000 CONCERNING IGNITION SWITCH FAILURE. CONSUMER HAD TAKEN VEHICLE TO GET REPAIRS WHEN HE WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD COST $70.00. HONDA WOULD NOT REIMBURSE ANY DEALER FOR WIRING COSTS REQUIRED FOR SUCH REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY UNITS. *SCC . *AK

CONSUMER STATES THAT THE DEALERSHIP IS CHARGING THEM TO RECONNECT THE ALARM SYSTEM AFTER DISCONNECTING IT TO DO RECALL. *MR
CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL REGARDING THE IGNITION SWITCH. IN ORDER TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIR COMPLETED, THE DEALER HADTO DISCONNECT THE ALARM SYSTEM. THE DEALER IS CHARGING CONSUMER A RECONNECTION FEE. THE ALARM IS NOT AN AFTER MARKET PRODUCT. IT IS THE ORIGINAL SYSTEM THAT CAME WITH THE VEHICLE. *JG *DT
THE CONSUMER HAD RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THE ACCORD IGNITION SWITCH FROM HONDA. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS GETTING THE RECALL WORK DONE, THE DEALER UNHOOKED THE AUTO LOCK SYSTEM THAT WAS INSTALLED AFTER HE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER THEN INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THEY HAD FOUND THIS KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM IN THE VEHICLE. HONDA WOULD NOT PAY TO REINSTALL THIS SYSTEM. AS A RESULT THE KEYLESS ENTRY IN VEHICLE IS DANGLING, AND THE WIRES WERE LEFT ON THE CENTER CONSOLE. THE CONSUMER STATES THAT THIS IS CLEAR THAT THIS POSITION HAS BEEN TAKEN BY HONDA AS SOLELY AS A WAY TO REDUCE THEIR COST, AT EXPENSE OF THE CUSTOMER. *SCC
CONSUMER STATES THAT HAS RECEIVE A SAFETY RECALL THREE MONTHS AGO FOR THE IGNITION SWICH AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT FIXED. MR
CONSUMER STATES THAT HER VEHICLE MODEL WAS RECALLED AND THEY HAVE REPLACED HE IGNITION SWITCH TWICE AND VEHICLE IS WORSE THAN EVER. DEALER IS BEEN NOTIFIED. MR
THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN REFERENCE TO THE IGNITION SWITCH. WHEN THE RECALL REPAIR WAS DONE, THE DEALER UNHOOKED THE AUTOMATIC LOCK SYSTEM. THE CONSUMER ASKED THE DEALER TO RE-INSTALL THE AUTOMATIC LOCK SYSTEM. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THEY FOUND A KEYLESS ENTRY IN THE VEHICLE, BUT HONDA WOULD NOT PAY TO REINSTALL IT. THE KEYLESS ENTRY WAS LEFT DANGLING IN THE VEHICLE AND THE WIRES WERE SIMPLY LEFT ON THE CENTER CONSOLE. *YH *SCC
AFTER RECALL FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS COMPLETED ON VEHICLE. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE POWER WINDOWS AND LOCKS ARE INOPERATIVE. MR

RECALL NOTICE RECEIVED IN JULY OF 2002, IGNITION RECALL PART STILL NOT AVAILABLE TO FIX PROBLEM. DT
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS ILLUMINATING. ON CONSUMERS 6TH VISIT TO THE DEALER, CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTOR NEEDED REPLACING. *JG
PARTS FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL HAS NOT BEEN AVAILABLE FOR 2 MONTHS AND DEALERSHIP DON'T WHEN PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. MR
CONSUMER CALLED COMPLAINING ABOUT THE RIMS ON THE VEHICLE. ALSO STATED THAT HE HAS BEEN LOOSING AIR ON A EVERYDAY BASIS. DEALER AND MANUFACTURE WERE CONTATED AND STATED THAT THERE IS NO WARRANTY OR RECALL SO THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ALSO STATED THAT FOR THE CONSUMER TO TAKE THE TIRES OFF AND TO CLEAN THE RIMS. RIMS WERE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT. TS

THE POWER WINDOWS WOULD LOCK UP. HAVE TAKEN TO DEALER. INFORMED BY MECHANIC REPAIR NOT DONE UNTIL PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED. HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY OF 7 YRS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE. TS

THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM HONDA IN AUGUST IN REFERENCE TO A DEFECTIVE IGNITION SWITCH. THE CONSUMER HAS CALLED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT BUT HASN'T RECEIVED A REPONSE( IN OVER 2 MONTHS). AND FEELS THAT THERE IS ALWAYS A RISK OF BEING INVOLVED IN A CRASH. *SCC *JB
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE PARKWAY, CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE SUDDENLY STARTED LOOSING POWER. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY STATED TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. CONSUMER STATES ONE WEEK LATER VEHICLE STARTED TO VIBRATE, HARD TO SWITCH GEARS, AND THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. TS

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALERSHIP HAS SERVICED THE VEHICLE 6 TIMES BUT CANNOT LOCATE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. *NLM
THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE WHEN THE CONSUMER RELEASED THE ACCELERATOR, THE DEALER FOUND THE NOISE WAS CAUSED BY EXCESSIVE BEARING PLAY AT THE LEFT OUTPUT SHAFT. *MR *AK *JB
THE DEALER REFUSED TO RECONNECT THE AFTER MARKET REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY, AFTER THE RECALL REGARDING THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS PERFORMED. *TS *JB

WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WILL FAIL TO ACCELERATE. THIS IS CAUSED BY THROTTLE STICKING. CAUSE UNKNOWN.*AK
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CONSTANTLY ILLUMINATED SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE FIRST SERVICE DEALER ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT WITH THE LIGHT. A DIFFERENT SERVICE DEALER ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT WITH THE "CATALYST" THAT COULD CAUSE VEHICLE TO STALL WITHOUT WARNING. *NLM *SCC
PARTS FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL 02 V 120 00 HAS NOT BEEN AVAILABLE FOR 8 MONTHS.*AK
THE VEHICLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED THREE TIMES IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS. A CODE (P0401) POINTED TO AN EGR PROBLEM BUT WHEN THE TECHNICIAN CLEANED THE EGR PORTS THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN WITHIN HOURS. *MR *CB *NLM
THE KEY COULD BE REMOVED FROM OTHER GEARS BESIDES PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THAT WAS THE WAY THE VEHICLE WAS MADE. *AK THE KEY COULD BE MOVED FROM ANY GEAR WHEN THE ENGINE WAS OFF. (SHOULD BE MANUFACTURERS RESPONSIBILITY) *SCC *JB
CONSUMER NOTICED THAT EVERY 500 MILES VEHICLE WOULD NOT START UNLESS ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS PUSHED ALL THE WAY DOWN, AND THE KEY WAS TURNED AT LEAST THREE TIMES. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM HAD NOT BEEN DETERMINED. *AK
SIZE OF SEAT BELTS MAKE IT COMPLICATED TO WEAR.*MR THE CONSUMER STATED THE REAR SEAT BELTS WERE TOO SMALL AND THE FRONT SEAT BELTS CUT AROUND HER NECK. *TS *JB
COMPLAINT FOR 1998 HONDA ACCORD VEHICLE PROBLEMS ARE NOT LISTED.*MR *PH
WHILE PARKED ON AN INCLINE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS AND JUMPED THE CURB. VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN WHEN IT DROVE OVER GRASS. AS A RESULT, CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO UNLOCK THE DOOR, ENTER THE VEHICLE, AND PUT THE GEAR SHIFTER IN PARK. THIS WAS CAUSED BY IGNITION FAILURE. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO REMOVE KEYS OUT OF THE IGNITION WITH VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL. THERE IS RECALL 03 V 423 000 ON THIS ISSUE, BUT THIS VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL DUE TO VIN.*AK
THE GAS PEDAL AND BRAKE PEDAL ARE VERY CLOSE TOGETHER. BECAUSE OF THE CLOSENESS OF THE TWO PEDALS, WHEN TRYING TO BRAKE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS PRESSED. THIS NEARLY CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS WITH OTHER VEHICLES BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDAL. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *PH
WHILE DRIVING, THE CONSUMER HEARD A NOISE AND THERE WAS VIBRATION FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE NOISE INCREASED AT 40 MPH AND HIGHER. THE CONSUMER HAD THE TIRES REPLACED, BUT THE PROBLEM WORSENED. THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CARRIER NEEDED REPLACEMENT.*AK *JB *NM
WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITHOUT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED AND THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF, THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE IS UNDETERMINED.*AK THE CONSUMER LEARNED OF A RECALL OF 650,000 RELATED TO THE FAILURE THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED. THE INFORMATION INDICATED THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE SHOULD BE USED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. THE CONSUMER NOW USES THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND AND PROBLEM SINCE THE FAILURE DIDN'T OCCUR AT THE SHOP. *PH *NLM
