TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1998 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND BEGAN TO FUNCTION NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC PRIOR TO THE FAILURE REGARDING IGNITION PROBLEMS; HOWEVER, NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE TWO RECALLS UNDER THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBERS 02V120000 AND 03V423000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: IGNITION: SWITCH). THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,445.
HONDA ACCORD ACCELERATOR CABLE FAILURE. I PICKED UP MY SON FROM SCHOOL. I STARTED TO DRIVE AWAY FROM THE SCHOOL AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL STOPPED RESPONDING. I STEERED THE CAR BACK TO THE CURB USING THE REMAINING MOMENTUM, STOPPING NEAR THE CURB AT AN ANGLE. I OPENED THE ENGINE HOOD TO LOCATE ANY LOOSE CABLES GOING FROM THE ENGINE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. WHEN I TOUCHED THE ACCELERATOR CABLE, THE METAL CABLE WAS LOOSE AND FELL OUT OF THE HOUSING, REVEALING A BROKEN FRAYED CABLE. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK TO DELIVER THE CAR TO A HONDA DEALER FOR REPAIR. *TR
MY HONDA ACCORD 1998 ENGINE HAS STOPPED. WHEN I WAS TRYING TO START IT WAS WORKING BUT ONLY TILL I LOOSE SWITCH IN "ON" POSITION. SO I COULDN'T TO DRIVE, BECAUSE IT NOT SAFE. IN MY UNDERSTANDING IT IS ELECTRICAL SWITCH (PART OF IGNITION SWITCH) PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1998 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SUB FRAME WAS CORRODED DUE TO THE CONDENSATION FROM THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT SECTION OF THE SUB FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SIERRA HONDA OF GRANDVILLE LOCATED AT 4260 KENOWA AVE SW, GRANDVILLE, MI 49418, WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1998 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER A TURN WAS MADE AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED AND A CLUNKING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE FRONT END. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC, WHERE THE BALL JOINTS WERE REPLACED ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
1999 HONDA ACCORD PURCHASED AS A USED CAR IN 2006. NO PROBLEMS UP UNTIL RECENTLY WHEN THE CAR STALLED SEVERAL TIMES. CAR WOULD START UP AFTER STALLING. TOOK CAR INTO MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE MAYBE BE A RECALL ON THE IGNITION SWITCH WHICH HE THOUGHT WAS THE PROBLEM. TOOK CAR TO HONDA DEALER. THEY SAID THAT VIN OF CAR DID NOT FALL INTO RECALL FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH. THEY DID FIND THAT THE ELECTRICAL PORTION OF THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS BAD AND REPLACED IT FOR 250.00. I EXPLAINED THAT THERE WAS 2002 RECALL ON THIS EXACT PART AND THAT THE CAR SHOULD BE CONSIDERED UNDER THE RECALL BUT THE TECHNICIAN SAID IF THE EXACT VIN DOESN'T SHOW UP UNDER THE RECALL, THEY CANNOT FIX THE PROBLEM FOR FREE. *TR
MY 1998 HONDA ACCORD 4 DOOR SEDAN L4 ENGINE STALLS AND THE ENGINE DIES WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS ISSUE AS IT RELATES TO MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. THE FIRST TIME THIS EVENT HAPPENED THE CAR STALLED THEN DIED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER I LET THE CAR SIT FOR AWHILE I ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR. IT TOOK FOUR TIMES. I THEN SOUGHT SERVICE OR REPAIR. FOUR ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. NONE OF WHICH ARE SUCCESSFUL. *TR

WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT WARNING SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 03V423000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:SWITCH). THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PREVIOUS RECALL AND OFFERED NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. A LOCAL MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT DID NOT PERFORM ANY REPAIRS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 168,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
MARCH OF 2009, I BOUGHT A SET OF PRIME WELL PS830 TIRES FROM FIRESTONE FOR MY 98 HONDA ACCORD V6 SEDAN. SINCE THE FIRST DAY OF PURCHASE, I NOTICED UNUSUAL SHAKES FROM MY CAR AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THE MATTER GETS WORSE IN RECENT MONTHS AS I NOTICED LOUD ROAD NOISE AND VIBRATION FROM THE TIRES. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE MY CAR AT HIGHWAY SPEED NOW. I HAVE BALANCED THE WHEELS AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE AND MANY ALIGNMENTS SINCE THEN. I HAD FIRESTONE CHECKED MY TIRES RECENTLY, INSTEAD OF REPLACING THE TIRES, THEY SUGGESTED EXPENSIVE REPAIRS WHICH I DON'T BELIEVE ARE THE CAUSES OF THE ROAD NOISE AND TIRE VIBRATION. *TR
REAR DOOR ON DRIVERS SIDE WILL NOT OPEN FROM EITHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING, THE ENGINE GOT SHUT, STEERING GOT COMPLETELY LOCKED (CAN'T DO ANY LEFT-RIGHT). THE KEY LIGHT GOT ON. ALL OTHER LIGHTS WERE OFF. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO CAR BEHIND MY CAR. ELSE I WOULD HAVE MET SEVERE ACCIDENT. I STOPPED THE CAR, RESTARTED IT, AND REACHED HOME SAFELY. I AM SCARED NOW TO DRIVE ANYMORE. *TR
MY 98 HONDA ACCORD LX AUTOMATICALLY DECELERATED TO 0 MPH WHEN I DROVE IT ON THE HIGHWAY (I-10 HOUSTON). THE SIGNAL LIGHTS (MAINTENANCE LIGHT AND THE KEY LIGHT) TURNED ON FIRST AND THEN THE SPEED DROPPED TO ZERO ALL THE SUDDEN BY ITSELF. I TRIED TO PUSH THE ACCELERATION PAD AND NO RESPONSE AT ALL. I WAS ABOUT TO PARK CAR TO THE SIDE. THEN AFTER ABOUT 1-2 MINUTES, IT BECAME NORMAL AGAIN. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THE PROBLEM OCCURRED. IT WAS A SHOCK TO ME. VERY WORRY ABOUT IF IT DIED ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1998 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE. SHE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUE DRIVING UNTIL THE VEHICLE STALLED A SECOND TIME WITHIN A FEW MILES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH AND STATED THAT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES WERE DEFECTIVE WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE, THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 02V120000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: IGNITION: SWITCH). THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 150,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1998 HONDA ACCORD. WHENEVER THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE AT ANY SPEED THE ENGINE WOULD SUDDENLY STALL WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND THE CONTACT NOTICED PRIOR THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD BEFORE THE STALLING BEGUN. I DRIVE A 1998 HONDA ACCORD EX V6 WITH 140,000 MILES. AS OF THE END OF DECEMBER, 2009; THE VEHICLE'S GEARS WOULD NOT ENGAGE WHEN PUTTING IT INTO 'DRIVE'. THE CAR WOULD ROLL FORWARD FOR ABOUT 100-200 YDS; IF YOU TRIED TO PUSH ON THE ACCELERATOR IT ACTED AS IF YOU WERE IN NEUTRAL AND THE ENGINE WOULD JUST REV. AFTER THAT, IT WOULD JUMP/JERK AND KICK INTO GEAR. I HAVE 2 CHILDREN, AGES 2 & 7 THAT ARE IN THE CAR DAILY. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY A HONDA DEALER THAT W/O AT $3,500 REPLACEMENT OF MY TRANSMISSION THE VEHICLE WILL LIKELY LEAVE ME STRANDED ON THE ROAD. I AM ALSO SCARED TO DEATH WHEN PULLING OUT ON A MAJOR ROAD AND MY CAR WON'T GO OVER 3-5 MPH. I'M SITTING CROSSWAYS IN TRAFFIC HOPING THAT IT WILL EVENTUALLY KICK INTO GEAR. I HAVE COME CLOSE TO CAUSING A FEW ACCIDENTS B/C MY CAR WON'T MOVE. THE HONDA TRANSMISSION HAS A DESIGN FLAW; YET HONDA WON'T COVER ANY OF THE REPAIRS AND THERE IS NO RECALL. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A SAFETY ISSUE AND MY CAR SHOULD NOT BE ON THE ROAD. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 1998 HONDA ACCORD, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUTS OFF. I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT STOPPED. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT FIVE TIMES IN FOUR MONTHS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ELECTRICAL PORTION OF THE IGNITION SWITCH AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. *TR
HAVE A 1998 HONDA ACCORD. WAS DRIVING SLOWLY UP A HILL IN CONGESTED TRAFFIC AND THE CAR ACTED LIKE I HAD PUT IT IN NEUTRAL. AT THIS TIME THE CAR RPMS JUMPED UP AND THE CAR STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS ALMOST ROLLING INTO A CAR BEHIND ME. THE CAR THEN JUMPED INTO GEAR AND LURCHED FORWARD ALMOST HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THE CAR STARTED TO RUN FINE AFTER THAT BUT SINCE IT HAD FIRST HAPPENED IT HAS RE-OCCURRED A NUMBER OF TIME, JUST NOT ON A HILL. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON AND A READING OF THE CODE WAS A PO740 WHICH IS A FAILURE OF THE TORQUE CONVERTER. I'VE CHECKED ON THE WEB TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM AND I'M SURPRISED TO SEE THAT IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH ACCORD MODELS FROM 98 TO ABOUT 2002. THERE WAS NO ONE HURT OR DAMAGE TO ANYTHING BUT I CAN SEE WHERE IT COULD REALLY BE A SAFETY ISSUE AROUND UNEVEN ROADS WITH SLOW MOVING TRAFFIC OR, AROUND MALL TYPE PARKING LOTS WHERE THERE ARE USUALLY A NUMBER OF PERSONS WALKING AROUND AND THRU TRAFFIC. *TR

THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. THE CONTACT IS CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY RISK. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 119,000.
ENGINE CUTS OFF AT 60 MPH. SOMETIMES HARD STARTING. HONDA SAID IT WAS THE IGNITION AND REPLACED IT. WORKS FINE NOW. 220K MILES AND STILL ROLLING. *TR
I HAVE HAD 2 HONDA ACCORDS AND MY GIRLFRIEND HAS A 3RD HONDA ACCORD. OVERALL THE CARS ARE GREAT, BUT THERE IS AN ISSUE THAT HONDA REFUSES TO ADDRESS. THE EVAP SYSTEM IS FLAWED AND ESPECIALLY IN NEW ENGLAND WEATHER, THE CANISTER AND SHUT VALVE GET ATTACKED BY ROAD CONDITIONS IN THE WINTER AND SOMETHING FAILS. WHY SHOULD WE AS CONSUMERS HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR CONSTANTLY WHEN THE ISSUE IS SIMPLY AN OVER-SIGHT ON PACKAGING THE UNIT TO PROTECT IT. LOOK ON THE INTERNET AND RUN CODE P1456 AND P1457. IF YOU LIVE IN NEW ENGLAND YOU WILL HAVE THIS PROBLEM OR YOU WILL BE VERY LUCKY. YOU ASK, HOW DO I KNOW SO MUCH ABOUT THIS? I AM BATTING %100. 3 HONDA ACCORDS 1998-2000 YEAR MODELS AND 3 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE P1457. IT IS PRETTY RIDICULOUS. THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE A VOLUNTARY RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM AGES AGO. I JUST SPENT MONEY TO GET IT FIXED ON THE 2000 HONDA ACCORD. WOULDN'T YOU KNOW, RIGHT AROUND A YEAR AFTER THE 1999 HONDA ACCORD. COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME AND DO THE RESEARCH. THESE ARE GREAT CARS SO YOU PROBABLY DON'T GET MANY COMPLAINTS, BUT HONDA IS GETTING OVER. THEY SCREWED UP AND THEY KNOW IT. LOOK AT THE NEW HONDA ACCORD, TOTALLY REDESIGNED EVAP CONTROL UNIT. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT A PART OF ANY OF THE RELATED RECALLS, 02V120000, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, IGNITION SWITCH 03V423000, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IGNITION SWITCH. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 140,000.

A LOCAL MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THE VIN WAS A PART OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 03V423000, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: IGNITION:SWITCH; HOWEVER, THE REPAIR COST WAS $200.00 AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER THE RECALL AND NO COMPENSATION WOULD BE OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 151,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 151,200.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE EGR VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 208,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 213,000.

THE CONTACT FEELS THAT THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND THAT IT SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
CAR BEGAN TO SHIFT ROUGHLY OCCASIONALLY SEVERAL WEEKS AGO. CAR IS NOW SLIPPING GEARS ESPECIALLY WHEN ENGINE IS WARM. TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT ~143000 MILES 16 MONTHS AGO BECAUSE OF SLIPPING GEARS. THIS WOULD BE THE SECOND REPLACEMENT IF I AM TOLD THIS IS BECAUSE OF TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE CAR HAS ~160000 MILES ON IT. *TR

HAD THE IGNITION SWITCH REPLACED ON OUR 1998 HONDA ACCORD DX IN 2002 VIA THE NHTSA# 02V120000 RECALL AT HONDA DEALER. RECENTLY CAR STALLED A FEW TIMES AND I DISCOVERED IT WAS THE IGNITION SWITCH THEY REPLACED IN 2002. I HAVE SINCE MOVED BUT CALLED NEAREST HONDA DEALER 60 MILES AWAY AND ASKED IF THEY WOULD REPLACE IT AND THEY REFUSED, STATING I DID NOT HAVE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ON VEHICLE. MY 1998 HONDA ACCORD LX WHILE DRIVING WOULD TURN ITSELF OFF. THIS OCCURED REPEATEDLY IN CITY DRIVING CONDITIONS AND ALSO ON FREEWAY DRIVING CONDITIONS AT 60 MILES AND ABOVE. WHEN THE ENGINE WOULD TURN OFF, ALL DASH LIGHTS INCLUDING THE GREEN "KEY" SECURITY LIGHT WOULD COME ON. THE CAR WOULD START UP AGAIN IF YOU TURNED THE IGNITION KEY ON, BUT AT 60 MILES AN HOUR, OR CROSSING A BUSY STREET AND LOSING POWER THAT WOULD NOT BE THE FIRST THING ONE WOULD DO AND THE PROBLEM COULD HAVE LED INTO VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENTS. GIVEN THERE WAS NO CODE IN THE COMPUTER, THE REMEDY WAS A HIT AND MISS, MY MECHANIC AFTER HE EXTENSIVELY TEST DROVE MY CAR FOR A WEEK FOUND THAT ON OCCASIONS WHEN HE WAS BEHIND A RED LIGHT WHEN HE TOUCHED THE INGNITION KEY, THE CAR TURNED ITSELF OFF. HE THEN CONNECTED WITH A HONDA MECHANIC AND HE INFORMED HIM THAT THE IGNITION HARNESS HAD A SHORT. WHEN HE WENT TO PURCHASE A NEW HARNESS, THE SUPPLIER (ACCRODING TO WHAT HE TOLD ME) HAD SHARED WITH HIM THAT, "OH YES, WE ALWAYS KEEP A SUPPLY OF THESE HARNESSES, THEY GO OUT A LOT!" GIVEN THE DANGER THIS POSES TO THIS VEHICLE (IT SEEMS THE MODEL WAS PRODUCED FOR SEVERAL YEARS), THERE SHOULD BE SOME WARNING TO OWNERS OF THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION SO THAT THEY CAN HAVE A COMPETENT TECHNICIAN TEST THEIR IGNITION HARNESS AND MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO SHORTS.

MY 1998 HONDA ACCORD IS HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. I HAVE HAD IT WORKED ON NUMEROUS TIME WITH NOTHING ACTUALLY FIXING THE PROBLEM. IT WAS A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. I WAS TRYING TO PARK MY 1998 HONDA ACCORD INTO A PARKING SPOT IN FRONT OF A HALLMARK STORE AND RIGHT BEFORE I TRIED TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND SHUT OFF THE IGNITION, MY CAR ACCELERATED SUDDENLY ON ITS OWN AND WENT THROUGH THE PLATE GLASS WINDOWS IN THE FRONT OF THE STORE. I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND WAS TRYING TO GET IT TO STOP AND IT WENT THROUGH THE PLATE GLASS WINDOW IN A SPLIT SECOND. I DID NOT HAVE TIME TO THINK, IT HAPPENED SO FAST. I WAS NOT HURT AND THE EMPLOYEES WERE NOT HURT, BUT SECONDS BEFORE THE CRASH, THE EMPLOYEES WERE STANDING BEHIND THE COUNTER WAITING ON A CUSTOMER AND THEY HAD JUST WENT OUT ON THE FLOOR RIGHT BEFORE IT CRASHED THROUGH THEIR WINDOW AND UP TO THEIR REGISTERS. THEY MISSED BEING HURT BY A FEW SECONDS. I REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO OUR INSURANCE COMPANY, SO THEY CAN INVESTIGATE FURTHER. WE FOUND A WEBSITE CALLED ALLWORLDAUTO.COM THAT LISTS SEVERAL INCIDENTS HAVING TO DO WITH THE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL THAT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN CAUSING NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS AROUND THE U.S. HONDA'S MECHANICS JUST SAID ALL THE INCIDENTS WERE DUE TO DRIVER ERROR, BUT EVERYONE THAT WROTE IN ABOUT THEIR INCIDENTS KNOW, THE SAME AS I DO, THAT IS WAS NOT CAUSED BY DRIVER'S ERROR AT ALL. HAD 4 TIRES AND VALVE STEMS ON A 1998 HONDA ACCORD REPLACED IN APRIL OF 2007 AT GOLD COAST AUTO CENTER. IN SEPTEMBER OF 2008 THE FIRST VALVE STEM FAILED. LUCKILY I NOTICED THE TIRE WAS CONTINUOUSLY GETTING LOW ONLY WHEN THE CAR WAS DRIVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND WAS ABLE TO GET THE STEM REPLACED BEFORE IT CAUSED A CRASH. THE SECOND STEM FAILED IN DECEMBER OF 2008, AGAIN WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IN A WATER BATH, THE STEM ONLY LEAKED WHEN IT WAS FLEXED TOWARD THE OUTSIDE DIAMETER OF THE WHEEL. THIS IS THE FLEXING THAT MIGHT BE EXPECTED AS A RESULT OF THE CENTRIFUGAL FORCE THAT IS APPLIED TO THE STEM AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IN THE CASE OF THE SECOND FAILURE, THE LEAKAGE WAS SO SLOW THAT THE TIRE DEFLATED AND WAS RUN AT HIGHWAY SPEED FOR AN HOUR OR MORE. THE TIRE EVENTUALLY BEGAN VIBRATING BADLY, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SWERVE. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE OFF THE ROAD ONTO THE SHOULDER. THE TIRES SIDEWALL EXHIBITED NUMEROUS BULGES AND WAS RUINED. ALTHOUGH NO ONE WAS INJURED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING, AS A RESULT OF CHANGING THE TIRE, I SLASHED MY HAND ON THE LUG WRENCH. I TOOK THE ISSUE BACK TO GOLD COAST TIRE AND THE MANAGER SAID THERE WAS NO RASH OF VALVE STEM FAILURES. THAT IS A LIE, AS INDICATED BY NUMEROUS REPORTS OF VALVE STEM FAILURES REPORTED BY CONSUMERREPORTS.ORG. ITS TIME FOR A LETTER WRITING PROJECT TO OUR LEGISLATORS. *TR
