WHEN SHIFTING THE CAR INTO D AFTER BEING OFF FOR A WHILE IT MAKES A GRINDING/SCRATCHY SOUND. ONLY HAPPENS WHEN GOING INTO D FROM ANY OTHER GEAR.*AK
I OWN A 2003 HONDA ACCORD LX V6 COUPE, WITH 35,000 MILES AND CURRENT IAW OWNERS MANUAL PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE, MY TRANSMISSION WITH OUT! I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO OURISMAN HONDA LOCATED IN LAUREL WHERE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT 'FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION TWICE', RETURNING IT TO ME STATING 'THE PROBLEM WAS TARGETED AND CORRECTED'. THE VERY NEXT DAY, TAKING A TRIP TO PHILADELPHIA WITH MY GIRLFRIEND, WE NOTICED THE TRANSMISSON SLIPPING AS WE WERE LEAVING THE TOLL BOOTH, 15-20 MILES DOWN THE ROAD THE TRANSMISSON WAS SO SEVERE IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE PAST 3RD GEAR (5 SPEED AUTOMATIC). THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED IN UNDER THE RECCOMENDATION OF PRINCETON HONDA, WHERE THE TRANSMISSON WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSON, PER OURISMAN HONDA OF LAUREL, WILL NOT BE COVERED PAST THE FACTORY 36,000 MILE WARRANTY.*AK
FEEL A GRINDING NOISE WHEN STARTING TO MOVE THE CAR (UNDER 10 MPH) AFTER STARTING THE ENGINE. THE PROBLEM DOES NOT HAPPEN THEREAFTER FOR OTHER STOPS AND STARTS AT RED LIGHT. THIS IS ONLY ONLY OCCURS WHEN ENGINE IS OFF, THEN STARTING UP AND DRIVING AWAY FROM PARK. *AK
OVER THE COURSE OF 3 YEARS, WITH LESS THAN 27,000 MILES, WE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE BRAKES ON THIS CAR TOO MANY TIMES TO REMEMBER. WE FIRST NOTICED A SQUEAKING SOUND AT 4,000 MILES WHEN RELEASING THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH THE CAR AT A COMPLETE STOP. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE BRAKES CHECKED. THEY SAID THE BRAKES WERE COLD AND THE NOISE WAS NORMAL. THIS NOISE CONTINUED AND A SECOND NOISE, MUCH LOUDER AND RESEMBLING A "STICKING CALIPER" BEGAN TO OCCUR WHEN TURNING AND APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE DEALER AGAIN DID NOT FIND A PROBLEM. THIS WAS AT 11,000 MILES. LATER, ANOTHER MECHANIC SAID THERE WAS A "HOT" SPOT ON THE ROTOR FROM BRAKING TOO HARD AND THIS WAS CAUSING THE NOISE, THOUGH NO REMEDY HAS BEEN FOUND. THE BRAKES HAVE ALWAYS FELT SOFT AND THE NOISES CONTINUE, THOUGH I DO NOT BELIEVE THE DEALER EVER CHECKED THE ROTORS OR DID A PROPER INSPECTION. NOW AT 26,400 MILES THE PEDAL FEELS LIKE A SPONGE AND I AM GOING TO HAVE TO PAY SOMEONE ELSE TO CHECK THE BRAKES AGAIN. SOMETIMES THE BRAKES GRAB VERY HARD, SOMETIMES THEY SEEM NOT TO GRAB AT ALL. HONDA NEEDS TO RECALL THE CARS OR PROVIDE FREE BRAKE INSPECTIONS TO INSURE THE CAR WILL STOP AS EXPECTED. THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN AND OTHERS HAVE ALSO COMPLAINED OF THE SAME PROBLEMS. THE BRAKES HAVE NOT COMPLETELY FAILED, BUT WE HAVE HAD TO ASSUME THEY WILL NOT STOP THE CAR AS THEY WERE ADVERTISED, IN A REASONABLE DISTANCE RELATIVE TO SPEED. NO PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED OR CORRECTIVE MEASURE COMPLETED DESPITE SEVERAL REQUESTS TO THE DEALER (MOST WHILE THE CAR WAS SUPPOSED TO BE UNDER WARRANTY). *NM
THERE IS A PULSATING IN THE VEHICLE, AND IT HAS BECOME EXTREMELY HARD TO STOP. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT FEEL LIKE IT IS STOPPING COMPLETELY. *AK
BOUGHT NEW 2003 ACCORD EX IN 1/03. SINCE HAVING THE CAR, THERE HAS BEEN A DAILY TERRIBLE "ROTTEN EGG" SMELL COMING FROM THE EXHAUST. DEALER CLAIMS THAT IT IS FROM THE WINTER BLEND OF GAS, BUT MY OLD CAR NEVER HAD THIS SMELL AND NO ONE I KNOW THAT HAS A CAR HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. THE SMELL IS SO BAD THAT PEOPLE GETTING OUT OF BACK DOORS WILL PLUG THEIR NOSES AND I MUST KEEP HEAT/AIR ON RECIRCULATE AND KEEP WINDOWS SHUT BECAUSE WHEN I STOP AT A LIGHT ETC..., THE SMELL GETS INTO THE CABIN. IF DEALER CONTINUES TO "NOT FIND A PROBLEM" I WILL CONSIDER LEMON LAW LAWSUIT.
I HAVE HAD A NOTICEABLE GROANING IN MY STEERING WHENEVER I TURN THE WHEEL. I NOTICED THIS PROBLEM FROM THE FIRST DAY I HAD THE CAR. THE DEALER AND HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE TELLS ME THIS IS A "CHARACTERISTIC" OF THE CAR. THEY SAY THAT MANY POWER STEERING PUMPS MAKE THIS NOISE. I BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE HAVE CHARACTERISTICS, CARS HAVE DEFECTS AND CAR COMPANIES HAVE WORD TO EQUIVOCATE. I STILL HAVE A 12 YEAR OLD HONDA WHICH IS A DELIGHT AFTER 380,000 MILES. I DON'T LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING THIS ONE GROAN FOR THE NEXT 12 YEARS. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE PASSENGER AIR BAG DEPLOYED UNEXPECTEDLY. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR AN INSPECTION, HOWEVER THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHY THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT CAUSE. *JB
THERE IS ALWAYS A HIGH PITCH BACK GROUND NOISE (MORE LIKE HUMMING AND HAZING SOUND) COMING OUT FROM THE STEREO UNIT WHEN THE VOLUME DIAL IS 01 AND UP NO MATTER IF IT IS THE CD OR RADIO. IF I ADJUST THE VOLUME TO 00, IT IS GONE. BUT WHEN THE VOLUME IS 01 OR UP, THE NOISE COMES BACK. MY DEALER ALSO ACKNOWLEDGED THIS PROBLEM ON ALL THEIR 03 HONDA ACCORD IN STOCK. HE CALLED AMERICAN HONDA REGARDING THIS ISSUE BUT HAS NOT GOT ANY RESPONSE YET. *JB
2003 HONDA ACCORD I BOUGHT DRIFTS TO ONE SIDE. BRAMAN HONDA IS UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. NOW BRAMAN HAS SAID THAT THIS IS AN NORMAL DRIF FOR THESE CARS. THIS IS A NEW VEHICLE AND THE ONLY MILAGE PLACE ON THIS CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IGNITION WAS STARTED AND THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CONTINUOUSLY. THE MALFUNCTION WOULD ALSO OCCUR WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE PART NEEDED FOR REPAIRS WAS ORDERED. THE NAME OF THE PART WAS UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
I HAVE A '03 ACCORD. AT 776 MI NOTICED CAR PULLING TO THE LEFT. PENSKE HONDA IN ONTARIO, CA SAID IT THE FRONT TIRE IS BAD. HAD THE TIRE REPLACED BY A TIRE DEALER. CAME BACK AT 2251 MI TO REPORT CAR PULLING TO THE RIGHT. PENSKE HONDA JUST ADJUSTED ALL TIRE PRESSURES. WENT BACK AT 2693 MI TO COMPLAIN REAR WHEELS VISIBLY MISALIGNED AND ALSO VIBRATION AT THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN IDLING. PENSKE HONDA PERFORMED 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT. IDLE FOUND NORMAL. CAME BACK AT 3036 MI. REPORTING DIFFICULTY KEEPING THE CAR STRAIGHT, EITHER PULLING LEFT OR RIGHT. REPORTED AGAIN VIBRATION ON THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN IDLING. TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CAR DROVE STRAIGHT WHILE IDLING ADJUSTED TO BASE IDLE. DEALERSHIP HAD THE CAR ALL DAY AND NOTICED THAT THE CAR WASN'T DRIVEN FAR ENOUGH AS SHOWN BY THE MILEAGE OUT AT 3038 MI. HAD TO REQUEST TECHNICIAN, RON CAMPBELL TO RIDE WITH ME TO SHOW THE PULLING ON EITHER SIDE. SEEN IT, FELT IT BUT THINKS ITS NORMAL BLAMING IT ON THE ROAD ALTHOUGH HE TOOK ME TO A GOOD STRETCH OF FLAT ROAD. NEVERTHELESS, HE ASKED TO LEAVE THE CAR FOR FURTHER TEST ON MONDAY BEING LATE SATURDAY, MILEAGE IN AT 3042. HAD THE CAR ALL DAY MONDAY, WAS ADVISED LATE AFTERNOON THAT THEY DID THE ALIGNMENT CHECK, DROVE THE CAR SOME MORE, CHECKED THE RIDE HEIGHT AND EVERYTHING IS TO SPEC. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS, THE ALIGNMENT PRINT-OUT WAS MADE @ 4:04 PM AND WAS CALLED BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR AT 5:40 PM. WHICH MAKES IT APPARENT THAT THEY SPENT LITTLE TIME TO TEST DRIVE AND LOOK FOR THE PROBLEM. NEXT VISIT IS TO TAKE THE SERVICE MANAGER FOR A RIDE TO EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEM. MILEAGE OUT AT 3047 MI AND DROVE IT HOME BUT THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. NAR 05/06/2003 MR THE VEHICLES EXHAUST HAS EMITTED A PUNGENT SULFUR OR ROTTEN EGG SMELL. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *CB
BOTH DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER DOORS WILL NOT STAY PROPPED OPEN. THEY ARE VERY HEAVY, AND WHEN PUSHED OPEN TO EITHER THE FIRST OR SECOND 'CATCH', THE DOORS INVARIABLY FALL BACK AND CRUSH THE LEGS OF THE PERSON TRYING TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. BOTH REAR DOORS STAY OPEN, CATCHING AND LOCKING PROPERLY ON EITHER OF THE TWO 'CATCH' POINTS. WHEN WE POINTED OUT TO HONDA DEALER WHILE THE CAR WAS IN FOR A DIFFERENT RECALL ISSUE, THEY OFFERED TO ORDER A REPLACEMENT PART FOR OVER $100 WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING AT THE LATCH MECHANISM. I BELIEVE THIS IS AN ORIGINAL FLAW WITH THE CAR THAT THEY SHOULD REPAIR FOR FREE. *TR
ONLY THREE DAYS AFTER HAVING PURCHASED A NEW 2003 ACCORD, I NOTICED THAT THE CONSOLE WAS OVERHEATING. WHEN I PUT MY FINGERS UNDER THE CONSOLE, IT WAS SO HOT THAT IT COULD BLISTER SKIN. THERE WAS ALSO A HORRIBLE INTERMITTENT BURNING SMELL. AFTER THE CAR MAKES THIS TERRIBLE BURNING SMELL, I GET A HEADACHE. UPON MY SECOND VISIT, THE DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM AND REPLACED THE CONSOLE. ON THE WAY HOME, THE NEW CONSOLE OVERHEATED AGAIN. ALSO, THE HORRIBLE INTERMITTENT BURNING SMELL IS STILL PRESENT. HONDA AMERICA HAS REFUSED TO REPLACE MY VEHICLE OR GIVE ME A REFUND. THE SALES MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP, HENDRICK\\'S HONDA CARS OF HICKORY, HAS GIVEN ME MISINFORMATION ABOUT MY STATE\\'S LEMON LAW BY TELLING ME THEY ARE ENTITLED TO 10 REPAIR ATTEMPTS WHEN THE LEMON LAW SAYS THEY ARE ONLY ENTITLED TO 4. THE DEALERSHIP NOW SAYS THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO REDUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. FURTHER, EVEN THOUGH THREE PEOPLE AT THE DEALERSHIP, INCLUDING A MECHANIC, HAVE WITNESSED THE OVERHEATING AND BURNING SMELL, THE \\MASTER MECHANIC\\ HAS TOLD ME THAT IF SOMETHING WAS BURNING OR OVERHEATING THAT I WOULD HAVE EQUIPMENT FAILURE. THIS IS NOT TRUE AND ANY GOOD MECHANIC SHOULD KNOW THIS. IT APPEARS TO ME THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO DENY THAT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THE COMPANY CLAIMS THAT NO ONE ELSE HAS REPORTED THIS PROBLEM. YOUR WEB PAGE HIT HOME WITH ME BECAUSE HONDA CERTAINLY HAS TROUBLE ADMITTING THAT THEIR CARS HAVE PROBLEMS. I WANT TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT BUYING A HONDA IS A BAD IDEA!
WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH VEHICLE IN FRONT OF CONSUMER'S VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. CAUSING CONSUMER TO REAR END THE VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER. *AK
INTERMITTENTLY WHEN BRAKING VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. ALSO, VEHICLE WOULD COMMENCE TO ACCELERATE, AND THEN THE BRAKES WOULD HOLD. VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO THE DEALER ON FIVE SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND THEY COULD NOT LOCATE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM.*AK
WHILE DRIVING THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEMS HAD FAILED. DEALER ALSO ADVISED CORRECTIVE PART IS NOT IN THE UNITED STATES AND WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO OBTAIN UNTIL POSSIBLE 02/15/03. *NLM
I PURCHASED MY 2003 HONDA ACCORD EX V6 ON DEC. 31, 2002. I SPENT 6 MONTHS RESEARCHING MANY MAKES AND MODELS IN ORDER TO FIND THE PERFECT CAR FOR MY WIFE AND UNBORN CHILD. I SELECTED THE ACCORD BECAUSE I FELT IT OFFERED THE MOST SAFETY FEATURES AND HAS BEEN ONE OF THE MOST RELIABLE CARS ON THE ROAD FOR YEARS. MY ONLY CONCERN WAS THAT THE VEHICLE WAS A FIRST YEAR REDESIGNED MODEL, BUT WHEN I ASKED THE SERVICE MANAGER HE SAID THAT THE ONLY THING CHANGED BETWEEN 2002 AND 2003 WAS THAT THE VEHICLE HAD HIGH COMPRESSION HEADS AND THAT'S WHERE THE EXTRA HORSEPOWER CAME FROM. I STILL HAD SOME RESERVATIONS, HOWEVER I THOUGHT TO MYSELF, "IT'S A HONDA HOW CAN I GO WRONG?" SEVEN DAYS AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR IT STRANDED MY WIFE AT WORK. SHE FINALLY GOT THE CAR STARTED AFTER 20 MINUTES AND GOT IT HOME AND TOLD ME IT WOULDN'T CRANK. I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS A FLUCK AND IT WOULDN'T DO IT AGAIN, 6 DAYS LATER IT DID IT AGAIN. I NOW THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS THE SECURITY CHIP IN HER KEY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SHUT OFF THE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM, SO I TOLD HER WE WOULD GET HER A NEW KEY. FIVE DAYS LATER USING MY KEY THE CAR FAILED TO CRANK. I CONTINUED TO HOLD THE KEY OVER TO SEE HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE TO FINALLY CRANK AND IT TOOK 45 SECONDS OF CONTINUAL CRANKING FOR THE CAR TO FINALLY FIRE OFF! THE NEXT DAY I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN AND SO I DID. THE DEALERSHIP WAS VERY HELPFUL AND CONCERNED AND THEY DID EVERYTHING THEY COULD TO FIX MY CAR, HOWEVER PARTS WERE ON BACK-ORDER AND WE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT. THEY GAVE US A RENTAL CAR AND SENT US HOME. IT TOOK HONDA MOTOR CORPORATION 27 DAYS TO DELIVER OUR PART AND WHEN WE GOT THE CAR BACK THE NEXT DAY IT ACTED UP AGAIN SO THE CAR WENT BACK INTO THE SHOP FOR ANOTHER 7 DAYS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS COMPLETELY REPLACED THE ENTIRE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM AND THE CAR STILL FAILS TO CRANK ABOUT TWICE A MONTH. THIS IS REDICULOUS, I BOUGHT THIS CAR TO BE RELIABLE AND SAFE FOR MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER, WHO IS NOW 2 MONTHS OLD.*AK
2003 ACCORD EX-V6 MAKES RATTLING NOISES FROM INSIDE THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS, THE DOOR POSTS AND SOMETIMES THE DASHBOARD. THE RATTLE FREQUENTLY APPEARS WHEN DRIVING OVER ROUGH PAVEMENT BUT IT IS INTERMITTENT. DEALER HAS TRIED TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM BUT WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS. *LA
2003 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE ONLY 3500 MILES AND HAS BEEN SERVICED 5 TIMES FOR THE SAME IGNITION PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD NOTHING CAN BE DONE AND THE CONSUMER WOULD HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE VEHICLE NOT STARTING. THE CABINET DOOR UNDER THE RADIO HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT BEGAN VIBRATING AUDIBLY, THE SUNROOF HAD TO BE RE-GREASED AND SHIMMIED. *JB
MY 2003 HONDA ACCORD HAS A REALLY BAD "ROTTEN EGG" SMELL ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR IN JANUARY OF 2003. I WAS TOLD HONDA WAS INVESTIGATING THE PROBLEM. AFTER 8 MONTHS AND 10,000 MILES THE CAR STILL SMELLS AND HONDA NOW SAYS IT IS NORMAL. THIS IS NOT NORMAL AND I AM VERY DISAPOINTED HONDA IS NOT GOING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I OWN 2 HONDAS AND THEY WILL BE MY LAST. WE ARE GOING TO PURSUE LEMON LAWS AS A LAST ALTERNATIVE
1. CHRONIC CONDITION; ERGONOMIC INJURY CAUSED BY HEAD REST DESIGN. 2. FRONT HEAD REST ARE DESIGNED WITH A SIGNIFICANT FORWARD TILT. THIS IS NOT ADJUSTABLE. FOR SHORTER THAN AVERAGE DRIVERS, THE FORWARD BULGE FORCES THE HEAD INTO A FLEXED (CHIN DOWN) POSITION THAT IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE, CAUSES CHRONIC NECK AND HEAD PAIN, AND CAN RESTRICT VISION. 3. THE ONLY SAFE "FIX" AVAILABLE IS TO ADD A THICK BACKREST TO THE SEAT, TO NEGATE THE BULGE. ALTERNATIVELY, DRIVERS MAY REVERSE THE HEAD REST OR EVEN REMOVE IT, SEVERELY COMPROMISING CRASH SAFETY (SUBJECTING DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS TO WHIPLASH INJURIES). *NM
WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE NOT AFFECTIVE UNDER DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE WIPERS WORK UNDER MINOR RAIN CONDITIONS & A VERY LOW RATE OF SPEED. ONCE SPEED & WEATHER CONDITIONS INCREASE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE INOPERABLE. *TR
ONLY THREE DAYS AFTER HAVING PURCHASED A NEW 2003 ACCORD, I NOTICED THAT THE CONSOLE WAS OVERHEATING. WHEN I PUT MY FINGERS UNDER THE CONSOLE, IT WAS SO HOT THAT IT COULD BLISTER SKIN. ALSO, THE HORRIBLE INTERMITTENT BURNING SMELL IS STILL PRESENT. HONDA AMERICA HAS REFUSED TO REPLACE MY VEHICLE OR GIVE ME A REFUND. THE SALES MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP, HENDRICK'S HONDA CARS OF HICKORY, HAS GIVEN ME MISINFORMATION ABOUT MY STATE'S LEMON LAW BY TELLING ME THEY ARE ENTITLED TO 10 REPAIR ATTEMPTS WHEN THE NC LEMON LAW SAYS THEY ARE ONLY ENTITLED TO 4. THE DEALERSHIP NOW SAYS THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO REDUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. FURTHER, EVEN THOUGH THREE PEOPLE AT THE DEALERSHIP, INCLUDING A MECHANIC, HAVE WITNESSED THE OVERHEATING AND BURNING SMELL, THE "MASTER MECHANIC" HAS TOLD ME THAT IF SOMETHING WAS BURNING OR OVERHEATING THAT I WOULD HAVE EQUIPMENT FAILURE. THIS IS NOT TRUE AND ANY GOOD MECHANIC SHOULD KNOW THIS. IT APPEARS TO ME THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO DENY THAT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THE COMPANY CLAIMS THAT NO ONE ELSE HAS REPORTED THIS PROBLEM.
MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED A 2003 HONDA ACCORD IN DECEMBER OF 2002. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY THE CAR PUT OUT THIS HORRIBLE (ROTTEN EGG SMELL). I KNOW THIS IS COMING FROM THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND I PROCEEDED TO TELL THE SERVICE PEOPLE THAT THIS WAS THE PROBLEM. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT SO THEY COULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THEIR RESPONSE WAS THAT THE GAS I WAS USING HAD A HIGH SULFUR CONTENT AND WE MUST SWITCH GAS STATIONS IMMEDIATELY TO GET RID OF THE SMELL. SO I TRIED EVERY GAS STATION IN THE AREA AND THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE. THE CAR STARTED TO SHAKE AND SEEMED TO BE DRAWING POWER FROM THE ENGINE. THE IDLE WOULD ALSO RISE AND FALL WHEN THIS SHAKING IS HAPPENING. THE ODOR BECAME WORSE WHEN THE SHAKING WOULD START. THIS SMELL IS GIVING ME A BIG HEADACHE AND WHO KNOWS WHAT OTHER HEALTH PROBLEMS. SO I CALLED HONDA SERVICE TO PUT THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE AGAIN. HONDA DID NOT EVEN WANT TO LOOK AT IT AGAIN, BUT WITH MUCH YELLING I GOT AN APPOINTMENT. THEY HAD THE CAR ALL DAY AND WHEN MY WIFE CALLED TO SEE IF THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THEY CONTINUED TO EXPLAIN THAT IT IS (THE NATURE OF THE BEAST) AND ALL CARS PUT OFF THIS SMELL TO SOME DEGREE. I ALSO NOTICED THE GAS MILEAGE IS NOT WHAT HONDA STATED IT SHOULD BE. SO I CALLED HONDA DIRECTLY TO FILE A COMPLAINT AND FOUND OUT THAT HONDA IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM, BUT HAS NO SOLUTIONS TO FIX IT. HONDA ASSURES ME THAT AFTER 10,000 TO 15,000 MILES GOES BY THAT THE SMELL WILL DECREASE AND GO AWAY. THIS SMELL STARTED AT 50 MILES AND IS GETTING MUCH WORSE AT 4,500 MILES. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HONDA CAR OR THEIR PRODUCTS AGAIN AS LONG AS I LIVE. I HAVE RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND AM GETTING A RESPONSE FROM THE DEALER THAT THEY HAVE FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THE STEREO HAS BEEN LOOKED AT 4 TIMES AND HAS TO GO BACK IN A 5TH TIME TO HAVE THE COVER REPLACED AGAIN. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN LOOKED AT 5 TIMES, SINCE THE FIRST WEEK WE BOUGHT THE CAR. THE FIRST 3 TIMES THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE 4TH TIME, THEY HAD TO RESURFACE THE ROTORS BECAUSE THEY WERE WARPED. AT THIS VISIT, THERE WAS ONLY 9,000 MILES ON THE CAR. THE 5TH TIME WE TOOK THE CAR IN, IT HAD 12,000 MILES AND THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE RESURFACED AGAIN. NOW THE BRAKES ARE GRINDING AND SQUEALLING AGAIN. THIS IS NOW THE 6TH TIME WE HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. THE SEAL AROUND THE DOOR GAVE WAY AT AROUND 5,000 MILES. THE DOOR SEAL SEEMS TO BE VERY THIN AND DOES NOT HOLD UP VERY WELL. WE PURCHASED AN AFTER FACTORY ANTI-THEFT DEVICE. MY WIFE'S FOB FAILED TO DEACTIVATE THE DEVICE. I REALIZE THAT THIS IS AN AFTER FACTORY INSTALLED DEVICE, BUT THE HONDA DEALER SHOULD BACK WHAT THEY SELL.

THE CAR NOW HAW ALMOST 11K MILES ON IT AND THE PROBLEM IS GETTING WORSE. IT IS ALSO NOT GETTING THE SAME MILEAGE THAT OUR PREVIOUS 2000 ACCORD V6 GOT. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG IN THIS AREA AS WELL. THIS WILL BE OUR LAST HONDA SINCE THE PROBLEMS ARE OCCURRING WITH NO OBVIOUS SOLUTION AVAILABLE.

THIS RESULTED IN THE TRUCK FLIPPING ME OFF AGAIN BEFORE STEPPING ON HIS GAS PEDAL AND SPEEDING OFF. AFTER RETURNING HOME FROM MY BUSINESS TRIP.THE CAR SEEMED TO BE BACK TO NORMAL. THANK GOODNESS FOR RUSH OUR TRAFFIC. AFTER ABOUT 3 MILES OF 25-35 MILES OF DRIVING THE CAR STOPPED SHIFTING GEARS AND THE RPM'S WENT THROUGH THE ROOF. I MADE IT OFF THE FREEWAY AT MY EXIT AND HAD TO DRIVE THE NEXT 15 MILES DOING 25-30 MPH AS THE ENGINE WOULD NOT SHIFT. HOW OFTEN DOES THE PROBLEM OCCUR? AS SOON AT THE ENGINE IS WARMED UP IT SEEMS LIKE. I DROPPED IT OFF AT OUR LOCAL AUTO SHOP WHERE I TAKE OUR VEHICLES. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE HERE AND SURE ENOUGH I FIND HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION. HONDA OR THE NHTSA DO NOT BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. HOW? I DON'T KNOW, I GUESS THEY ARE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO GET KILLED AND THEN THEY CAN TAKE THESE COMPLAINS SERIOUSLY. *TR
