THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V056000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE DEALER DENIED THE REPAIR BECAUSE THE VEHICLE RECORDS SHOWED THAT THE SRS AIR BAG CONTROL UNITS WERE PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE SPEED DECREASED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACTS RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TWO DIFFERENT INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED FOR A NEW BATTERY, AND REBUILT ECU HOWEVER, THE REMEDY FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER (BELL HONDA, 701 W BELL RD, PHOENIX,AZ, 85023) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE FAILED, CAUSING THE COUNTER SHAFT BEARING TO HIT AGAINST THE SPEED SENSOR AND ALL THREE PARTS NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE UNDER THE CASE NUMBER: 6198619, WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V395000 (POWER TRAIN) AS OF SEPTEMBER 26TH OF 2012, HOWEVER THE REMEDY FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED DEPENDING ON WHAT INFORMATION THE CONTACT FOUND OUT THAT THEY WOULD ESCALATE THE CASE TO A CASE MANAGER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. MY CAR MAKES A LOUD RATTLING NOISE DURING COLD START.
TAKA RECALL, MY CAR HAS HAD THE FRONTAL PASSENGER AIRBAG ON RECALL NOW FOR THE BETTER PART OF A YEAR. I AM NOT ABLE TO HAVE A PASSENGER IN THAT SEAT AND HONDA IS NOT AVAILABLE TO PROVIDE ME A REPLACEMENT AIRBAG TO BE INSTALLED. IT WAS PROMISED TO BE PROVIDED IN THE SUMMER OR FALL AND HERE WE ARE ALMOST IN NOVEMBER AND MY CAR IS PRACTICALLY USELESS. IS THERE NO REQUIREMENTS FOR THEM TO EITHER MAKE THE PART AVAILABLE QUICKER OR A LOANER?

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK AND A SOCKET NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REMOVED TO REPAIR THE OIL LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 115,000.
METALLIC GREY PAINT AND SEALER HAS BEGUN TO BLISTER AND PEEL AWAY ON THE HOOD AND TRUNK. DEFECT BEGINS AS A RAISED DISCOLORATION AND THEN GROWS IN SIZE UNTIL SEALER AND PAINT JUST PEEL AWAY EXPOSING THE PRIMER. MANY MORE SPOTS ARE NOW APPEARING AND SOON WILL BECOME THE SAME.CONDITION IS SIMILAR TO A CANCER AND SOON WILL ENVELOPE THE PAINTED SURFACES.

WHILE DRIVING, OIL LIGHT FLICKERED, UPON INVESTIGATION NOTICED CAR HAD LOST 3 QUARTS OF OIL . I HAD NOTICED A MOMENTARY RATTLE UPON START UP OF ENGINE THAT WENT AWAY QUICKLY. HONDA STATED THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE VTC ACTUATOR(O RINGS, HEAD GASKET, TIMING CHAIN, CYLINDER REPAIR) BEFORE THEY COULD DO AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. UPON RESEARCH WHICH INDICATES THE ACTUATOR IS AN ISSUE AND THEY REFUSE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY . HONDA DID NOT WANT TO SERVICE IT UNDER A RECALL NOTICE.
TAKATA INFLATOR: "HONDA SUGGESTS THAT YOU AVOID HAVING A PASSENGER SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT UNTIL THE RECALL REPAIR HAS BEEN PERFORMED." I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE (16V-346) IN JULY 2016, AND AS IF SEPTEMBER 1, 2016, THE STATUS WAS "RECALL STATUS: RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE." IT IS UNFAIR THAT HONDA OWNERS MUST AVOID THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OF THE VEHICLE FOR MONTHS, AND REMAIN UNCOMPENSATED BY THE MANUFACTURER. MY FAMILY HAD TO TAKE A MUCH LESS FUEL-EFFICIENT VEHICLE ON TWO ALREADY-PLANNED TRIPS (EASTON, PA, TO ERIE, PA; EASTON, PA, TO OTTAWA, CANADA), AS OUR ONY OTHER CHOICE WAS FOR ONE SPOUSE TO SIT IN THE BACK SEAT OF OUR HONDA ACCORD. WE ALSO HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED A REMEDY FOR RECALL 16V-056, ANOTHER AIRBAG-RELATED ISSUE.
SEATBELT LIGHT IS CONTINUOUSLY ON WHEN DRIVING AND WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED. THIS CAN BE A SAFETY HAZARD. WHEN PASSENGERS ARE IN THE FRONT AND BACK SEATS OF THE VEHICLE, THE LIGHT REMAINS RED, WHICH MEANS SOMETHING IS WRONG. I TRAVEL A LOT WITH GRANDCHILDREN IN CAR SEATS. THIS HAS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY.
IS MAKING A VERY LOUD RATTLE NOISE FOR ABOUT 2 SECOND AT COLD START-UP AS I SEE THAT IS COMMON PROBLEM WITH HONDA CARS

TAKATA RECALL I KNOW A LOT OF CARS ARE AFFECTED BY IT IS TAKING SO LONG TO GET MY AIRBAGS FIXED. I HAVE HAD PASSENGERS TO SIT IN THE BACK IN FEAR OF HAVING THEIR FACE MUTILATED BY MY AIR BAGS WHICH ARE THERE FOR SAFETY, NOT DANGER. RIDICULOUS.
TAKATA RECALL - HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR WEEKS FOR HONDA TO REPLACE MY DEFECTIVE AIRBAG. I HAVE MADE MULTIPLE CALLS TO HONDA. I WOULD LIKE TO GET MY VEHICLE REPAIRED SO THAT IT IS SAFE TO HAVE A PASSENGER RIDE IN THE FRONT SEAT ASAP.

I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER, MY CAR HAS APPROX. 24000 MILES, I HAVING BREAK PROBLEM THAT IS DEVELOPED APPROX. GOOD 5000 MILES AGO. WHEN THE BREAK IS APPLIED THE FONT END OF THE CAR STARTS VIBRATING AND SHAKING, ALSO CAN FILLED IN THE STARRING WHEEL.
TAKATA RECALL DEALER HAS NO PARTS SO CANT REPAIR
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY ON AND OFF FROM 02/2016 (CODES P1009 CAMSHAFT POSITION AND P0341 CAMSHAFT POSITION A CIRCUIT EACH TIME). CAR STALLED A NUMBER OF TIMES WHEN RUNNING STATIONARY AND IN MOTION IN AUGUST 2016. HONDA DEALER ON AUGUST 9 FOUND CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN STRETCHED AND IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. CAR HAD 41,059 MILES ON ODOMETER AND POWER TRAIN WARRANTY OF 60,000 MILES OR 5 YEARS. REPAIR COST $1,562.90. HONDA REFUSED ANY COMPENSATION EVEN THOUGH MILEAGE WELL UNDER 60,000 MILES AND THE VEHICLE WAS IN EXCELLENT WORKING ORDER INCLUDING ENGINE OIL LEVEL. REPAIR SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED AS AN EXCEPTION UNDER WARRANTY. CONSUMER REPORTS MAGAZINE SHOWS FREQUENCY OF REPAIR VERY POOR FOR MAJOR ENGINE PROBLEMS FOR 2008 HONDA ACCORD(OBVIOUSLY UNKNOWN AT TIME OF PURCHASE 12/2007). MAJOR ENGINE PROBLEMS NOT CITED FOR HONDA ACCORDS FROM 2005 THROUGH 2015 IN CONSUMER REPORTS MAGAZINE.
TAKATA RECALL*** RECEIVED NOTIFICATION VIA MAIL 7/23/16 THAT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR IS NOW PART OF RECALL, ADVISED NOT TO DRIVE WITH PASSENGER UNTIL ITS BEEN FIXED, BUT HONDA OFFERS NO INFORMATION ABOUT WHEN THAT WILL BE. CALLED HONDA ON 7/25 (NEXT BUSINESS DAY) TO REQUEST ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION, WAS TOLD TO ALSO FOLLOW UP WITH LOCAL HONDA DEALER. CALLED THEM, LEFT MESSAGE WITH "PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWING". AFTER CALLING FOR TWO MORE DAYS AND TALKING WITH AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE, LOCAL DEALER REP STATED THEY CAN DO NOTHING UNTIL NATIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE REVIEWS AND AUTHORIZES LOANER VEHICLE. CALLED NATIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE 7/28/16 TO FOLLOW UP ON REQUEST AS NO WORD FROM CASE MANAGER. WAS ON VACATION THE FOLLOWING WEEK SO NO FOLLOWUP, BUT NO CALL FROM HONDA EITHER. ON 8/8/16 (TWO WEEKS AFTER INITIAL REQUEST), CALLED AGAIN TO FOLLOW UP, DENISE CONFIRMED MY REQUEST IS IN THE ESCALATIONS QUEUE AND TO BE PATIENT. I FIND IT BEYOND RIDICULOUS THAT HONDA CANNOT STAFF THEMSELVES APPROPRIATELY TO DEAL WITH THIS RECALL SITUATION. EVERY DAY THAT GOES BY, WHILE I WAIT "PATIENTLY" IS ANOTHER DAY THAT HONDA OUR FAMILY RISKS INJURY OR DEATH FROM THE AIRBAG IN OUR VEHICLE AND IS ANOTHER DAY THAT HONDA DOESN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR A RENTAL VEHICLE TO ELIMINATE THE RISK OF THAT INJURY/DEATH. HONDA IS GAMBLING THAT OUR VEHICLE, THAT HAS SPENT ITS ENTIRE 8 YEARS OF EXISTENCE IN A PRIORITY (HUMID) LOCATION (FLORIDA), WON'T INJURE OR KILL US IN THE MEANTIME, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE GONE SO FAR AS TO ADVISE IN WRITING FOR NO ONE TO RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. DUE TO OUR CHILD SAFETY SEATS IN THE BACK FOR OUR CHILDREN, THERE IS NO OTHER VIABLE SEATING POSITION IN THIS VEHICLE AND THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. HONDA IS SANDBAGGING THE RENTAL VEHICLE REQUEST PROCESS. THEY NEED TO EXPEDITE REQUESTS FOR ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION BEFORE ANOTHER PERSON IS INJURED OR KILLED.

2008 HONDA ACCORD. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO THE STATEMENT "WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?" LISTED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR RECALL NOTICE. *SMD
TAKATA RECALL - RECEIVED A LETTER APPROXIMATELY 7 MONTHS AGO INFORMING ME OF THE AIRBAG RECALL AFFECTING MY VEHICLE. THE LETTER STATED THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART WAS UNAVAILABLE AT THAT TIME, BUT I WOULD BE CONTACTED AT A LATER DATE WHEN IT IS AVAILABLE. AS OF MARCH 27TH, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY FURTHER COMMUNICATION. THE "SAFERCAR.GOV" WEBSITE SAYS "RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE", AND A SEARCH ON THE OFFICIAL HONDA WEBSITE SAYS THAT THERE IS "NO OPEN RECALL", SO I AM UNABLE TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG. I KNOW THAT THIS AIRBAG IS FAULTY AND DANGEROUS AND I WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS FIXED ASAP, BUT THERE HAS BEEN A SERIOUS LACK OF COMMUNICATION ON THE MANUFACTURERS END REGARDING HOW TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND/OR HOW LONG I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THIS REPAIR.
TAKATA RECALL: I INHERITED THIS CAR IN JUNE AND I BROUGHT IT TO HUNTINGTON HONDA TO TO BE SURE THAT ALL WAS IN ORDER, AS I WAS INTENDING TO DRIVE THE CAR FROM NEW YORK TO LOUISIANA AT THE END OF THE SUMMER TO GIVE IT TO MY DAUGHTER WHO LIVES THERE. I SPECIFICALLY ASKED THE SERVICE ADVISOR, DARRELL RAEBURN, IF THERE WAS AN AIRBAG RECALL ON THE CAR. HE WASN'T SURE, BUT AFTER CHECKING WITH SOMEONE ELSE, HE SAID YES, THERE WAS BOTH A SOFTWARE AND A HARDWARE RECALL. THEY PERFORMED THE SOFTWARE UPDATE AT THAT TIME, AND HE SAID THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR SHOULD BE IN IN JULY. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP EARLIER THIS WEEK TO ASK THE STATUS. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL ON MY CAR. I SAID THAT WAS NOT CONSISTENT WITH WHAT I HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN TOLD, AFTER WHICH I WAS THEN TOLD THAT THE PARTS WERE DUE IN THE NEXT DAY, AND EVEN THOUGH THERE WASN'T A RECALL THEY COULD REPLACE THE PART FOR ME AT NO CHARGE. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR TODAY (JULY 28), BUT WHEN I GOT THERE, I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR (DAVE?) THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE CAR AND NOTHING THEY WOULD DO. I JUST SPOKE ON THE PHONE WITH CRAIG SCELVA, WHO IS SOME TYPE OF TOP SERVICE MANAGER. ASIDE FROM MY COMPLAINT ABOUT THE CONFUSING INFORMATION AND WASTED TIME TODAY, I ASKED HIM WHAT THE REAL STORY IS REGARDING THE CAR AND AIRBAG RECALL. HE SAID THERE IS DEFINITELY NOT A RECALL, THAT ONLY IF THE SRS LIGHT COMES ON IS THERE A RECALL. THIS IS A SAFETY RAISED ISSUE ON A 2008 ACCORD-LXP THAT I PURCHASED USED (WHICH HAD ABOUT 29K ORIGINALLY WHEN I PURCHASED IT AS A CERTIFIED HONDA ACCORD) FROM HERB CHAMBERS BOSTON. SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR, I STARTED HEARING AN ODD GRINDING NOISE WHEN STARTING THE CAR ON COLD DAYS - HONDA SAID JUST KEEP OIL FULL. I THEN FIND OUT THAT A RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED TO FIX THE OIL CONSUMPTION, THAT HONDA HAD FINALLY AGREED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE DESIGN AND WOULD FIX IT AND AT THE SAME TIME WOULD NOT CAUSE OTHER ISSUES TO EMERGE SUCH AS VTC AND THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUES. RECENTLY MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I STARTED RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I KNEW ABOUT THE FOLLOWING ISSUES WHICH I WILL BE DETAILING/DESCRIBING BELOW. RESULTS WERE BAD: A TIMING CHAIN FAILURE. MY CAR HAS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF ROAD CAUSING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHICH COULD LED TO ME LOSING MY LIFE. NOT, ONLY THAT, WHEN I TRIED TO JUST DRIVE THE CAR A MILE BACK TO MY HOUSE IT WAS ACCELERATING AND DECELERATING BY IT SELF. IN ADDITION, I DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSES, I ALMOST ENDED UP IN COUPLE ACCIDENTS. THE CAR WAS UNCONTROLLABLE AND WON'T STOP AND THE BRAKES WON'T RESPOND DUE TO ISSUES CAUSED BY OIL CONSUMPTION, TO VTC ACTUATOR TO A TIMING CHAIN FAILURE: THE CAR KEEP ACCELERATING AND DECELERATING BY IT SELF ON THE ROAD OR HIGHWAY. NOTE: IDEALLY THE TIMING CHAIN SHOULD NOT FAIL ON 58K MILES.
