I HAVE A BROKEN AIRBAG SENSOR WIRE UNDER MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE WIRE BROKE ON IT'S OWN FROM SIMPLY MOVING THE SEAT FOR MY DAUGHTER TO GET IN THE BACK SEAT. HONDA WANTS OVER $400 TO REPLACE THIS AND CLAIMS THE WIRE LOOKS TO HAVE BEEN CUT. HOWEVER I AM THE ONLY OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE & NEVER CUT THIS WIRE. I TOOK THE CAR TP ANOTHER AUTO SHOP WHO GAVE ME THEIR OPINION THE WIRE SIMPLY BROKE THRU NORMAL USE. I BELIEVE HONDA NEEDS TO REPAIR THIS AT NO COST AS IT'S A SAFETY CONCERN & NOW THE AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS LIT UP AT ALL TIMES & I DON'T KNOW IF THE AIRBAGS WILL WORK IN AN ACCIDENT. I CONTACTED HONDA AGAIN TODAY ABOUT THIS & EVEN WITH THE OPINION OF AN AUTO SHOP THEY ARE SAYING THEY CAN'T HELP SINCE THE VEHICLE ISN'T UNDER WARRANTY.
SIGNIFICANT REAR BRAKE PAD WEAR AFTER ONLY 20,000 MILES. FRONT BRAKE PADS STILL HAVEN'T WORN 1/4 PERCENT. REAR PASSENGER BREAK WEAR INDICATOR ALARMING ALREADY. REAR DRIVER SIDE VERY LOW TOO.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, AN ABNORMAL KNOCKING SOUND WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE ENGINE WITH CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DCH HONDA OF MISSION VALLEY (5812 MISSION GORGE RD, SAN DIEGO, CA 92120) ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND WAS GIVEN THREE SEPARATE DIAGNOSIS. THE CONTACT WAS FIRST INFORMED THAT THE BRAKES WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED HOWEVER, AFTER THE REPAIR, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHO INFORMED HER THAT THE AXLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED HER THAT HER AXLE WAS FINE AND DID NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER FOR A THIRD TIME WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON HER VEHICLE AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. *BF *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT WAS WET. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED THAT THE ROOF ABOVE THE DRIVER'S SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG WAS LEAKING WATER. THE CONTACT CALLED URSE HONDA AT (888) 691-2241 (772 BARNET RUN RD, BRIDGEPORT, WV 26330) AND WAS ADVISED TO BRING IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 08427288. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,100.

IT WAS PURCHASED FROM GERMAIN HONDA OF DUBLIN BY PERSON NAMED [XXX], E-MAIL: [XXX]. THE REMEDY WAS FIXED ON 3/20/18 BY LINDSAY HONDA 5805 SCARBOROUGH BLVD, COLUMBUS, OH 43232, PHONE#614-328-2850. SO, WE CAN PICK OUR GRANDSON ([XXX]) FROM [XXX] REGARDS, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
OUR ENGINE SUFFERED A MASSIVE ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. THE CAR LOST ALL OF ITS OIL AND THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO INDICATION OF SUCH SITUATION. I OPENED A CASE WITH HONDA CARE, BUT AS EXPECTED, THEY DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY EVEN THOUGH THESE VEHICLES ARE IMPACTED WITH SUCH ISSUE AND THE FACT THAT I RECEIVED A SERVICE BULLETIN. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HONDA.
I BOUGHT USED HONDA ACCORD IN 2015. AFTER THAT, I SPENT 2 TIMES TO REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS IN AROUND 30,000 MILES AND 1 TIME I SPENT FOR ROTOR. I EMAILED HONDA ABOUT IT AND I ALSO UNDERSTAND IT'S ABOUT ALMOST 8 YEARS BUT WHENEVER THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE BRAKE PADS THEY SUPPOSE TO CHANGE THE WHOLE BRAKING SYSTEM.NOW I HAVE A QUESTION OF KEEPING OR SELLING THE CAR & IF I HAVE TO SELL THE CAR ( IF I AM SELLING IT NOBODY WILL BUY IT OR I HAVE TO TELL THAT PERSON THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. ) ANOTHER QUESTION IS HONDA IS MAKING A MISTAKE I ALSO READ ABOUT A LAWSUIT REGARDING THAT AND THERE WAS A SETTLEMENT BUT NOW ALL THE USERS HAVE TO PAY AROUND $80 -$100 FOR EVERY 15,000 TO 20,000 MILES. CAR IS BURNING THROUGH OIL MUCH FASTER THAN NORMAL. HONDA AGREED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, BUT SINCE IT IS NOT AN OFFICIAL "RECALL" THEY DID NOT INFORM CUSTOMERS. THEY REFUSE TO COVER THE KNOWN PROBLEM SINCE THE 2010 ACCORD WAS BUILT IN 2008, AND THE WARRANTY COVERS 8 YEARS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER PREVIOUSLY PERFORMED AN UNKNOWN NHTSA RECALL REPAIR FOR THE TAKATA AIR BAG ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,022.

ON A ROAD TRIP TO MASS, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BLINKS AND CAR RUNS POORLY. STOP AT THE NEAREST HONDA, GARBER HONDA IN ROCHESTER, NY. FIRST MADE AWARE OF RECALL. GARBER SAYS REPAIR IS MADE AND IS COVERED UNDER RECALL PROGRAM. I WAS ADVISED TO RETURN IF PROBLEM COMES BACK AND TOLD I HAD UNLIMITED MILES TO DO SO. CAR CONTINUES TO CONSUME OIL. I WAS UNAWARE THAT THE CONSUMPTION WAS PART OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY CAMPAIGN REGARDING THE NUMBER 2 CYLINDER. 26 OCTOBER - 9 NOVEMBER 2018 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTS TO BLINK AND CAR RUNS POORLY. ON THE ROAD I TAKE IT TO THE NEAREST HONDA, LIA HONDA OF WILLIAMSVILLE, NY. NUMBER 2 PLUG FOULED AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY CAMPAIGN HAD ENDED AND I HAD TO BRING IN ALL THE MAINTENANCE RECORDS TO QUALIFY FOR A 'GOOD WILL' REPAIR. I FAX AND CALLED NORTHTOWN BUT RECORDS FROM PREVIOUS YEARS NOT AVAILABLE DUE TO DEALERSHIP BUYOUT. I PAID TO HAVE SPARK PLUG REPLACED. I SPENT 3 WEEKS EXCHANGING EMAILS WITH ADRIAN BONSEY AT LIA TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. IN MY FINAL FOLLOW UP HE MENTIONS HE HAD CLEARED THE EXCHANGE OF EMAILS FROM HIS SYSTEM. I GO ONLINE AND RESEARCH THE ISSUE DISCOVERING THE WARRANTY CAMPAIGN LETTER, A LETTER I HAD NEVER BEEN GIVEN BEFORE.I AM UNABLE TO GET MY EMISSIONS DONE FOR THE STATE OF NY DUE TO A NEARLY ALWAYS ON CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I CONSUME 2 - 3 QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES AND FOUL OUT A PLUG EVERY FEW MONTHS. I THINK HONDA OWES ME A REPAIR SINCE THE PREVIOUS REPAIR DID NOT RESOLVE THE KNOWN ISSUE.

THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED AND DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE CONTACT'S HOUSE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BRUISED BODY AND SORENESS, BUT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FIELD. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. TAKATA RECALL. THERE HAVE BEEN NO ACCIDENTS RE: AIRBAG. I AM MERELY FILLING OUT THE FORM ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS.
TWO ISSUES I AM HAVING THAT TONS OF PEOPLE ONLINE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT. ONE ISSUE IS THE VARIABLE TIMING SOLENOID. AT STARTUP THE VEHICLE MAKES A LOUD RATTLING NOISE FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS. THE OTHER ISSUE IS THE EXTERIOR WEATHER STRIP IS ALLOWING WATER TO LEAK INTO MY CAR.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION, BURNING OIL, WHILE IN MOTION.
SINCE DECEMBER, 2016 THE ENGINE HAS BEEN USING EXCESSIVE OIL. I HAVE REGULARLY SCHEDULED OIL CHANGES EVERY 5,000 MILES (SYNTHETIC). ON 7/13/17 THE OIL WAS CHANGED BUT I WAS TOLD THAT THE ENGINE OIL WAS VERY LOW. IT WAS CHANGED AGAIN ON 12/21/17 WITH LESS THAN 4,000 MILES SINCE THE LAST CHANGE. AGAIN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THIS PROBLEM IS DEFINITELY GETTING WORSE.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE SAM HOUSTON TOLLWAY GOING ABOUT 70 MILES (WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC) IN 65 DEGREE WEATHER WHEN I HEARD A LOUD SOUND LIKE AN EXPLOSION. I COULD NOT PULL OVER WHERE I WAS SO I CONTINUED TO DRIVE. I HEARD THE WIND LIKE YOU WOULD IF YOUR WINDOWS WERE DOWN A BIT. I PULLED THE OPENING OF THE SUNROOF (THE COVER THAT IS INSIDE THE CAR) AND I HEARD THE GLASS. I SHUT IT IMMEDIATELY AND DROVE TO WORK. UPON ARRIVING AT WORK I INSPECTED THE SUNROOF AND FOUND NO DEBRIS THAT WOULD INDICATE SOMETHING HAD STRUCK MY CAR. I CALLED MY HUSBAND AND HE HAD RESEARCHED THIS AND SAW THE ARTICLE THAT BROUGHT ME HERE TO YOUR WEBSITE.
TAKATA RECALL- I TRIED TO GET AN APPOINTMENT WITH A HONDA DEALERSHIP IN TOWSON,MARYLAND AND THEY WON'T GIVE AN APPOINTMENT BECAUSE MY VIN IS NOT LISTED AS REQURING MY CAR TO BE CHECKED FOR THE AIRBAG.

TAKATA RECALL I BOUGHT MY 2010 HONDA ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO. I WAS RECENTLY INFORMED THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE DEFECTIVE AND I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO GET IT FIXED. I WOULD LIKE TO BE PART OF THE SETTLEMENT.

THE STEERING RACK (RACK AND PINION STEERING) ASSEMBLY BROKE ON MY VEHICLE. THE STEEL BAR USED TO MAKE THIS PART SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO BE BROKEN LET ALONE IN THE MANNER THAT IT DID. IT SHEARED AND THERE WAS NO WARNING WHEN IT HAPPENED. IT WASN'T HIT OR UNDER EXTREME STRAIN. I AM HIGHLY CONCERENED THIS MAY BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR OTHERS IN THE FUTURE. THANKFULLY I WAS NOT TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED WHEN IT BROKE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION, THE CAR IS BURNING 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 1000 MILES. THE ACCORD OIL CHANGE GUIDE PER THE OWNERS MANUAL IS AN OIL CHANGE EVERY 7000 MILES. I WAS DRIVING THE CAR WITH NO OIL ON THE DIPSTICK WHICH IS A DANGER OF FULL ENGINE FAILURE ON THE ROAD. HONDA TESTED THE VEHICLE AND HAS EVIDENCE OF THE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. THEY SETTLED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGREEING TO EXTEND THE ENGINE WARRANTY AND PERFORM REPAIRS. THE DEALER STATED THAT V6 ENGINES ARE NOT COVERED IN THE THE TECHNICAL BULLETIN ISSUED BY HONDA. I CLEARLY SEE V6 AS BEING IMPACTED AND LISTED IN THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. THE DEALER INSTRUCTED ME TO CONTACT CORPORATE WHICH IS MY NEXT STEP.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR, I RE-POSITIONED THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR SO THAT IT WOULD COVER THE DRIVERE SIDE WINDOW. DURING THE RE-POSITION, THE VISOR DETACHED ITSELF FROM THE CAR. THE VISOR WOULD NOT GO BACK INTO THE SOCKET, SO I HAD NO OTHER CHOICE BUT CLIP THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VISOR INTO IT'S SOCKET AND ALLOW THE LEFT SIDE OF THE VISOR TO HANG. I HAD TO HUNCH DOWN FOR THE REMAINDER OF MY COMMUTE IN ORDER TO HAVE FULL VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING. ONCE PARKED, I WAS ABLE TO WORK WITH THE VISOR FOR SEVERAL MINUTES TO GET IT BACK INTO THE SOCKET. THE VISOR CANNOT BE PIVOTED TO THE LEFT DRIVER SIDE, IT FALLS EVERY TIME.THE VISOR CAN ONLY REMAIN PARKED OR UNFOLDED WITHOUT DETACHING ITSELF FROM THE CAR. I FACE THE SUN DURING MY COMMUTE TO AND FROM WORK, SO NOT HAVING FULL ACCESS TO MY VISOR IS TROUBLESOME FOR MY VISION. I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE DEALER SAID, "IT SEEMS FINE TO ME." THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. I AM RELUCTANT TO PIVOT THE VISOR TO TAKE A PHOTO BECAUSE IT TAKES SO LONG TO GET IT BACK INTO THE SOCKET.
WAS STRUCK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WHILE IN MOTION AT APPROXI. 35 MPH AND AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.

MY 2010 HONDA ACCORD EX IS BURNING OIL EXCESSIVELY. I AM REQUIRED TO ADD ABOUT 2 QUARTS OF OIL IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES UP TO 5 TIMES. THERE IS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY RECALL ADD FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAYS MY CAR DOES NOT QUALIFY. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY RECALL STATES THAT 2010 HONDA ACCORD'S QUALIFY, BUT THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THE PISTON RINGS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT NO OIL WAS PRESENT INSIDE THE ENGINE ALTHOUGH THE OIL GAUGE DISPLAY INDICATED THAT THE OIL INSIDE THE ENGINE WAS AT 30 PERCENT. THE MECHANIC ADDED OIL TO THE ENGINE AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE LOCAL DEALER (AUTO PARK HONDA IN CARY, NC) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 151,692.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD SOUND FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT SMELLED A BURNING ODOR, BUT THERE WAS NO SMOKE OR FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BRONX HONDA (2541 E TREMONT AVE, BRONX, NY 10461) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE WAS LEAKING OIL INTERNALLY DUE TO A GASKET FAILURE, AND THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
A GRINDING NOISE WHEN VEHICLE COLD STARTS STARTED OVER A WEEK AGO AND EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS. WAS TOLD BY HONDA DEALERSHIP THAT IT MAY COST UP TO $600 TO GET THE VTC ACTUATOR FIXED BUT AFTER DOING RESEARCH FOUND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE 2008-2012 ACCORDS. WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR A KNOWN ISSUE BY THE MANUFACTURER. IVE ALWAYS BEEN A ADVOCATE FOR HONDA VEHICLES BUT THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND A RECALL NEEDS TO BE MADE TO FIX THIS AND THE PISTONS LEADING TO THE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. I WILL BE FIGHTING THIS WITH THE DEALERSHIP ON THIS COST TO GET IT FIXED AND IM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED IN THE FINDINGS ABOUT THIS ISSUE.
THE CAR JOLTS WHEN PUT INTO GEAR AND WHEN TRANSMISSION SHIFTS BETWEEN GEARS. FEELS LIKE THE CAR IS GOING TO STALL DURING TRANSMISSION SHIFTS DURING ACCELERATION/DECELERATION. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND D LIGHT IS BLINKING. REQUIRED THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS AND DRIVERS UNDER DASH FUSE BOX TO BE REPLACED. HONDA SAYS THE CAR IS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL FOR THIS EVEN THOUGH HONDA HAS A RECALL FOR POTENTIAL FAILURE WITH THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR FOR THE 2010 ACCORD. *JS

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT PROPERLY ACCELERATE AND EXPERIENCED HIGH REVVING WHEN SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT ABOVE SECOND GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE AB SOLENOID WAS FAULTY. THE SOLENOID WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER MATT CASTRUCCI HONDA LOCATED AT 3013 MALL PARK DR, DAYTON, OH 45459, WHO PERFORM A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MODULE AS PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V395000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
TAKATA RECALL...
I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR, EVEN AFTER UNLOCKING THE DOOR. THIS COULD BE AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, SHOULD EMERGENCY RESPONDERS NEED TO GAIN IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO THE CAR AND A PASSENGER WAS UNRESPONSIVE. THE POWER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED, WHICH CAUSES THE DOOR LOCK TO STAY ENGAGED EVEN AFTER UNLOCKING THE CAR USING THE REMOTE FOB AND USING THE POWER LOCK BUTTON ON THE DOOR. THE ONLY WAY TO UNLOCK THE DOOR IS TO MANUALLY FLIP THE INTERIOR DOOR LOCK SWITCH. THIS IS THE SECOND POWER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR TO FAIL, AND MY CAR HAS LESS THAN 93,000 MILES ON IT. THE POWER DOOR LOCKS SHOULD LAST THE LIFE OF THE CAR, AND DOORS THAT STAY LOCKED ARE AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD. HONDA CHARGES $298, PER ACTUATOR, MAKING COMPLETE REPAIR CLOSE TO $1,200. MY GUESS IS MOST PEOPLE WOULD CHOOSE TO LIVE WITH THE ISSUE RATHER THAN PAY THE HIGH REPAIR COST, BUT THEY DON'T THINK ABOUT WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF THEY ARE UNRESPONSIVE, THE CAR IS IN FLAMES, AND THE DOORS WON'T OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. I SPOKE WITH HONDA CORPORATE ABOUT THE ISSUE, AND THEY PROVIDED NO RESPONSE. THEY JUST SAID "WE DOCUMENT YOUR CALL." VERY FRUSTRATING.
AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN MY CAR ACCIDENT
MY VEHICLE ENGINE RPM'S RAISES AS MUCH AS 500 TO 700 MORE THAN IDLE, WHEN MOVING AT SLOW SPEEDS OF 10 MPH OR STOPPED. HAD IT CHECKED BY SUNNY KING HONDA IN OXFORD ALABAMA, THEY SAID IT COULD BE THE PCM WHICH IS UNDER RECALL FOR THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE FOR ONES MADE PRIOR TO SEPT 2010. MY VEHICLE WAS MADE IN DECEMBER 2010. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME AND CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO SPEED UP WHEN MOVING AT SLOW OR STOPPED SPEED. JUST WONDERING IF THIS HAD BEEN REPORTED BY ANYONE ELSE. ALSO VEHICLE MAKES A LOUD NOISE WHEN YOU CRANK IT UP. IT HAS DONE THIS SINCE I GOT THE CAR BACK IN AUGUST 2017
THE SRS LIGHT HAS BEEN ON IN MY CAR FOR 4 MONTHS. I HAVE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE BUT THE DEALER STATES IT IS NOT RELATED TO THE SRS LIGHT BEING ON. HOWEVER, I'VE BEEN TOLD MY AIRBAGS WON'T DEPLOY IF I AM IN AN ACCIDENT.
IN JULY OF 2017 MY CAR STARTED SHOWING THAT THERE WAS A INSTABILITY IN THE ENGINE. TURNS OUT THAT HONDA KNEW ABOUT THIS POSSIBLE PROBLEM AND HAD A PROCEDURE TO DEAL WITH IT WITHOUT FIXING THE UNDERLYING CAUSE. IT SEEMS THAT THEY MADE THE PISTONS INCORRECTLY AT THE FACTORY AND THEY COULD LEAK OIL INTO THE SPARK PLUGS CAUSING MISFIRING IN THE CYLINDERS. I WENT TO HONDA DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THIS CORRECTED AND THEY SAID THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE SPARK PLUGS, CLEAN UP THE OIL AND TOP IT OFF. THEN THEY WOULD DO OIL CONSUMPTION TESTS FOR A FEW MONTHS TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM WAS GONE. AND IT WAS GONE FOR A WHILE. JUST LONG ENOUGH FOR THE WARRANTY TO EXPIRE SO WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN, I WOULD BE LEFT HOLDING THE BAG TO PAY THE $2700 FOR THE REPAIR THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE WHEN I FIRST WENT IN 2017. I CALLED HONDA TO REVIEW MY CASE AND THEY DENIED ME TWICE STATING THE AGE OF THE CAR NEGATED ANY ASSISTANCE FROM THEM. MY HONDA CASE NUMBER IS 09490208.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
VEHICLE IS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD COUPE, V6 EX-L, MANUAL TRANSMISSION. 6/28/17: WHEN STARTED THE VEHICLE AFTER AN APPOINTMENT, THE ELECTRICAL WARNING LIGHTS APPEARED ON THE DASH. CALLED MECHANIC TO SEEK GUIDANCE. ABOUT HALF WHERE THERE, THE CAR FILLED WITH A LOUD HUM SOUND, THEN ABRUPTLY WENT AWAY. WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD TURNED OFF. TOOK CAR TO THE MECHANIC ANYWAY. ALTERNATOR WAS FAILING. REPLACED ALTERNATOR AT 60,665 MILES. 9/7/17: TOOK CAR TO LOCAL MECHANIC DUE TO PERSISTENT ROCKING NOISE THAT WAS COMING FROM UNDER THE FRONT SIDE OF THE CAR WHEN SLOWING/BRAKING. INFORMED OF A SIGNIFICANT ISSUE THAT COULD CAUSE LOSS OF STEERING AT ANYTIME DUE TO A CRACK IN THE STEERING RACK AND PINON ASSEMBLY. REPLACED STEERING RACK AND PINON, OUTER TIE ROD ENDS AND THE MOTOR MOUNT BY THE DRIVE BELT AREA AT 62,201 MILES. ADDITIONAL PART ORDERED TO COMPLETE THE WORK TORSION ARM BUSHINGS) WAS ORDERED 9/8/17. INSTRUCTED TO RETURN WITH VEHICLE WHEN FOR LATER INSTALL. 9/29/17: RETURNED VEHICLE TO LOCAL MECHANIC WHO INSTALLED TORSION ARM BUSHINGS. DURING THIS WORK, THEY NOTICED THAT THE LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS WERE BADLY CRACKED ON BOTH ENDS (PICTURES ATTACHED) WHICH WERE REPLACED AT 62.855 MILES.
