The contact stated that while slowly pulling into a parking spot at approximately 2 MPH, the vehicle unintentionally accelerated and crashed into the rear end of another parked and unoccupied vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle sustained front grill, fenders, headlights, and bumpers damaged, and the camera cords were hanging out of the grill. The air bags did not deploy. There was no injury sustained. The contact parked the vehicle and went into the restaurant to have a meal with her friends. The contact stated that upon returning to the vehicle, the contact met the owner of the other vehicle. The contact stated that the rear of the other vehicle sustained significant damage, and the owner was able to pull into another spot but had expressed concerns about driving the vehicle. No police report was filed. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was later towed to an auto collision repair shop, where it was repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that while reversing out of the driveway, the failure recurred, causing the vehicle to crash into two other parked and unoccupied vehicles. The air bags did not deploy. There was no injury sustained. One of the vehicles sustained a fractured rear passenger exterior light, and the other vehicle sustained a dent on the rear passenger's side fender. The contact's vehicle sustained rear-end damage and was towed to an auto collision repair shop, where it was repaired. A police report was filed. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure recurred while reversing out of the driveway on another occasion, and the vehicle crashed into a telephone pole and into an unoccupied parked vehicle. There was no injury sustained. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contact's vehicle sustained rear passenger's side fender damage, and the fender was hanging. The telephone pole was damaged and was replaced. The other vehicle sustained rear passenger-side fender damage. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, but the dealer was unable to determine the cause of unintended acceleration. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.
VSA/ABS Module has gone bad. Loss of emergency braking
We were driving on the highway when the vehicle began stalling and failed to accelerate. We pulled onto the shoulder and all of the lights on the dash were on "Check engine, Electric Power Steering light, and low fuel light: The vehicle had half a tank of gas, so it was not a low fuel issue. After a few attempts the car finally started again and began to pick up power. My neighbor who is a certified Acura mechanic, used his diagnostic tool and the error code P0087 popped up indicating a drop in fuel rail/system pressure. This is the first time this has happened to this vehicle. We have serviced it regularly at our local Honda dealer since we purchased the vehicle. We see that there is an active recall for the exact issue we experienced NHTSA RECALL NUMBER:23V-858, however, our VIN number was not included in that for some reason. We feel strongly that the issue is indicative and matches that recall campaign and are requesting this recall be investigated and expanded.
2013 Honda Accord accelerated to a very high speed when driving from the church parking lot, braking did not stop it. barely avoided hitting a car. On Sunday [XXX] at around 13:45pm, as I was leaving the church parking lot, driving at around 5 miles an hour, the car suddenly accelerated to a very high speed, I tried braking but that did not stop it. The car entered and crossed the street, barely missed hitting a car, then entered the parking lot of a dollar store, finally stopping on the far side of the parking lot. No one was injured and no damage occurred. Triple A was called immediately. had car towed to dealership (Neil Huffman Honda, 1607 Greentree Boulevard, Clarksville, Indiana 47129. Car was at the dealership for two days, the car was driven, and an extensive examination was done, but they could not duplicate the concern and did not find any problems with the vehicle. When this episode occurred, there was no prior warning and the action of the vehicle was extremely fast. This was absolutely scary. Please let it be known to the Honda Manufacturer that the car is defective, this defect needs to be fixed as soon as possible, before someone or multiple people are seriously injured or killed, or extensive property damage is done. On 1/24/24, we were driving at about 65 mph. With no warning, FCW, LDW, ABS, Tire Pressure and check engine lights as well as FCW System Failure reported on dash. The car slowed to about 20-25mph and sounded rough. Cars behind were going with speed of traffic (about 65) and had to break behind us and were honking their horns at us despite emergency flashers on. We pulled over and turned off engine for a few minutes. We turn engine back on and warning lights were off and we could drive normally again. We thought it was a glitch. About three weeks later on 2/21/24, we were on a highway pass over mountain traveling about 65mph. The lights came on again and car slowed again to about 25mph. This was very dangerous on a pass with many cars accelerating around us on the uphill part of the pass. We had to pull over again. We turned engine back on but FCW and LDW lights remained on. We were able to drive normally again. When we got home, I took the car to a mechanic who did a diagnostic test and replaced the high pressure fuel pump. The FCW and LDW lights remained on as well as notification of FCW System Failure. The mechanic said he did not have recalibration equipment and I would have to go to Honda dealer for recalibration. I have an appointment on 3/6/24 with Honda for recalibration. I have since gone online and see many Honda owners are having this occur with various fixes but the problem has recurred for many owners. This is very dangerous and needs to be addressed ASAP before a collision occurs and possible death of those involved as a result.
My 2013 honda accord coupe has had severe steering problems for the past year, the steering does not want to respond where i cant even drive my car anymore
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, I HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED AT APPROXIMATELY 70MPH. MY VEHICLE HAS ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL AND ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WITHIN ONE DAY, THERE WAS NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME BUT THE CAR STARTED BRAKING HARD. FORTUNATELY, NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME OR THEY PROBABLY WOULD HAVE REAR-ENDED ME AS IT TOOK ME A FEW SECONDS TO CANCEL THE CRUISE CONTROL SINCE IT CAUGHT ME BY SURPRISE. IN AT LEAST ONE OF THE INSTANCES, THERE WAS A LARGE TRACTOR-TRAILER TO THE RIGHT OF ME SO I'M NOT SURE IF IT PERCEIVED IT'S SHADOW AS BEING A VEHICLE. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE NEW IN 2013 AND THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO BRAKE WHEN NO ONE WAS ACTUALLY IN FRONT OF ME.

I WAS IN A PARKING LOT TRYING TO PARK MY CAR IN A SPOT ON THE RIGHT SIDE. AS I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AT A NORMAL PRESSURE, THE CAR JUST STARTED ACCELERATING AND DID NOT STOP. I FIRST SLIGHTLY HIT A CAR WHICH HAD JUST PULLED OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. I TRIED TO USE THE BRAKES MULTIPLE TIMES AND TRIED TO SHIFT GEARS TO MAKE ANYTHING HAPPEN WHICH COULD HELP STOP THE CAR. IT WAS OUT OF CONTROL AND IN ORDER TO AVOID A CLIFF, I VEERED TO THE RIGHT AFTER PASSING ABOUT 30 PARKED CARS AND HIT AN EMBANKMENT WITH A TREE ON IT. MY CAR CRASHED INTO A PARKED LEXUS SUV WHICH THEN WAS LIFTED AND MOVED TO THE RIGHT AND HIT ANOTHER PARKED CAR. THE AIR BAGS CAME OUT AND THE CAR STOPPED. MY WIFE AND I AND OTHER PEOPLE COULD HAVE DIED IF THERE WERE ANY PEDESTRIANS IN THE PARKING LOT. WE BOTH HAVE MANY LIFE THREATENING INJURIES AND CANNOT DRIVE DUE TO THOSE FOR A LONG TIME. IN ADDITION WE ARE NOW QUITE FRIGHTENED. THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL AND I COULD NOT STOP IT.
I HAD PULLED INTO A PARKING STOP AND STOPPED. I WAS ABOUT TO REVERSE TO PARK STRAIGHT WHEN MY CAR SHOT FORWARD. THE BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING AND THE CAR ACCELERATED FORWARD UNTIL IT WAS STOPPED BY A BRICK COLUMN. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT IN FRONT OF A RETAIL STRIP CENTER.

ON FRI SEPT 29TH, 2017 I HAD AN SUA (SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION) IN MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD THAT DEVASTATED PART OF AN OFFICE BUILDING AND WRECKED MY CAR. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND BACKED UP, HIT A 3 FOOT HIGH CONCRETE BOLLARD, WAS ANNOYED, PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE, FELT AN ODD LURCH AS THOUGH THE BUMPER WAS STUCK ON SOMETHING ALTHOUGH IT WAS NOT. I PUT MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR AND AT THAT MOMENT THE CAR RAPIDLY ACCELERATED TO WHAT FELT LIKE 30 OR 40 MILES AN HOUR. I TRIED TO BRAKE BUT IT FELT AS THOUGH THERE WAS NO PRESSURE UNDER MY FOOT. I GRIPPED THE STEERING WHEEL IN TERROR AND STEERED THE CAR AWAY FROM OTHER PARKED CARS AND INTO A CONCRETE WHEELCHAIR RAMP WITH RAILS AND AN OFFICE BUILDING. THE AIR BAG WENT OFF. THE CONCRETE RAMP AND OFFICE BUILDING STOPPED THE CAR IN ITS TRACKS. I PUT IT IN PARK AND GOT OUT. I'M DOING OK BUT MOSTLY VERY VERY GRATEFUL I DIDN'T HURT OR KILL ANYONE. MINOR AIRBAG BURN ON MY ARM AND A CONTUSION TO MY KNEE. I FEEL THE AIRBAG ONLY CAME OUT A LITTLE AND HIT MY LEFT ARM, NOT THE REST OF MY BODY. BUT I COULD BE WRONG ABOUT THAT. I'M GLAD BECAUSE AS A PHYSICAL THERAPIST I'VE SEEN SOME NASTY AIR BAG INJURIES. ALSO I DID NOT HAVE MY SEAT BELT ON BECAUSE I OFTEN PUT IT ON AS I LEAVE A PARKING LOT. NOT A GOOD IDEA, BUT ALSO NO NASTY SEAT BELT INJURY. JUST STIFF ARMS, PAINFUL LEFT KNEE AND NECK, A FEW DAYS LATER. I REALIZE EVERYONE IS GOING TO SAY I HAD THE FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR BUT I WAS AT A DEAD STOP WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE TO ACCELERATE AND SERIOUSLY, AFTER ALMOST 40 YEARS OF DRIVING, I HAVE NEVER FELT ANYTHING LIKE THIS TERROR AND LOSS OF CONTROL. THE POLICEMAN WHO CAME TO THE SCENE WOULD TESTIFY TO THE FACT THAT I WAS COMPLETELY SANE AND SOBER AT THE TIME. TODAY, WE HEARD THE CAR WILL BE APPRAISED AS TOTALED. I HAVE DRIVEN AND LOVED MY HONDAS SINCE 1991 BUT NO MORE, AND I WOULD HATE TO THINK THIS CAR WOULD BE FIXED AND RESOLD.

VEHICLE WAS PARKED. UPON PRESSING BRAKE TO SHIFT TO "DRIVE" THE VEHICLE JOLTED MULTIPLE TIMES THEN ACCELERATED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE COLLIDED WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE DIRECTLY IN FRONT INJURING A PERSON WHO WAS BETWEEN BOTH VEHICLES AT THE TIME.

DRIVING ON A BUSY S.E. STREET IN WASHINGTON DC, DRIVING ABOUT 20 TO 30 MPH., HEARD A NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE A TIRE BLOWING OUT OR SOME OTHER TYPE OF NOISE EMANATING FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR. I TRIED TO PRESS THE BRAKE, BUT INSTEAD THE CAR ACCELERATED AND WOULD NOT STOP. IT SPED UP AT LEAST ANOTHER 15 TO 20 MORE MPH, AND AGAIN, WOULD NOT STOP. THERE WERE VEHICLES IN THE BACK, SO I COULD NOT USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE OR SHUT THE CAR OFF. THERE WERE ALSO VEHICLES ON THE SIDE AND IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE. I HAD TO MAKE A DECISION ON HOW TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN WITHOUT HITTING ANY PEDESTRIANS OR ANY OTHER VEHICLES. DECIDED TO TRY AND STOP THE CAR BY HITTING SOMETHING STATIONARY AND RAN INTO A SET OF STEPS THAT BELONGED TO AN OFFICE BUILDING. AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND TWO PASSERSBY STOPPED TO ASSIST ME AND MY PASSENGER OUT OF THE CAR. WE WERE BOTH TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO A HOSPITAL WITH SUBSTANTIAL INJURIES TO THE CHEST, RIB, NECK AND BACK FOR MYSELF AND THE PASSENGER. *TR
WHILE USING THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC) I WAS TRAVELING AT 75 MPH. THIS SYSTEM IS SUPPOSE TO REDUCE YOUR SPEED WHEN IT SEES ANOTHER VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOU AND THEN BRING YOU BACK UP TO SPEED WHEN THE OBSTACLE IS NO LONGER PRESENT. I WAS ON A 4 LANE LIMITED ACCESS HIGHWAY (2 LANES EACH DIRECTION). I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE. THERE WERE NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME BUT THERE WAS AN 18 WHEEL TRUCK ABOUT 150 FEET IN FRONT OF ME IN THE RIGHT LANE. WE WERE APPROACHING A LEFT CURVE AND ON A SLIGHT INCLINE TO THE CURVE. AS WE ENTERED THE CURVE THE ACC SONAR DETECTOR SAW THE 18 WHEELER IN THE OTHER LANE AND DISENGAGED THE ACC AND APPLIED THE BRAKES, WITHOUT WARNING. THIS BROUGHT MY SPEED DOWN QUICKLY FROM 75. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS OCCURRED IN SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES. THE REAL DANGER HERE IS THAT THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THE CAR TO BRAKE; THE SONAR SAW AN OBSTACLE IN A DIFFERENT LANE; HAD ANOTHER VEHICLE BEEN FOLLOWING ME THE SURELY WOULD HAVE BEEN A CRASH. I AM A FORMER CRASH INVESTIGATOR. AS SUCH, I CAN TELL YOU THIS SITUATION WILL BE PROBLEMATIC. FORTUNATELY, THE CAR GIVES YOU THE OPTION OF USING THE ACC OR TRADITIONAL CRUISE CONTROL - I HAVE DISABLED THE ACC FOR SAFETY CONCERNS. *TR
