Lost power without any warning while taking an exit on the highway. Fortunately, I was able to pull over without an incident. Mechanic scanned : P0087. Replaced high pressure fuel pump assembly and associated parts. Honda had a recall on 2013-2014 models. Extremely likely this problem persisted in the 2015 model but Honda did not include this model year in the recall. Very expensive repair.
My vehicle started to loose power while driving on the freeway. The engine light came on and my car was no capable to go over 40 miles.. the vehicle makes a whirring sound . The mechanic shop I took it states the engine code is P0087 and when he research my type of vehicle has a SAFETY RECALL: 2013-17 ACCORD L4 FUEL PUMP MODULE SET/ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT DTC P0087. I have contacted Honda and they stated my vehicle was not affected; however the problem my vehicle has is exactly the Honda Safety Recall.
When the car is started up cold, it will sometimes start to stall on the road. Turning on and off the car usually gets it working correctly again. Usually will only happen if the temp is at or near freezing. 2015 Honda Accord EX. This has been. Happening for years, but Honda says that there’s no open recalls even though this seems to be similar to the recall (23V858000) from 12/17/2023.
The contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle intermittently stalled, and the contact stated that after waiting several minutes for the engine to cool down, the vehicle returned to normal operation; however, the vehicle was shuddering. No warning light was illuminated; however, the "VSC System Failure" message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that the throttle control system needed to be replaced. The independent mechanic made the contact aware of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and 20V769000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
In the last several years my daughter’s Honda Accord has stalled multiple times leaving her stranded and us having to have the vehicle towed. This last time was this evening in the middle of a busy intersection to get on a ramp to a highway. She was unable to get out of the car due to traffic and barely avoided getting rear ended. The time before was in the middle of the interstate. The car just died. We have had it towed multiple times to auto shops and have been told it is a fuel pump issue and the recall on the car needs fixed. I have tried repeatedly to get this fixed and I’ve been told that none of the dealers have the parts from Honda that once a dealership gets a part and they will let us know. I asked what are we supposed to do till then as this is an extreme safety hazard for my daughter to drive this car, and have gotten no answers to when this part will even be in.
I am reporting a critical safety issue with my 2015 Honda Accord that poses a significant risk to my safety and that of others on the road. Although my VIN is not currently included in the active recall for the fuel pump affecting 2013-2017 Honda Accords, my vehicle is experiencing symptoms consistent with the issues described in the recall. Incident Details: On 9/28/2024, while driving, my vehicle suddenly lost power. It was limited to approximately 2,500 RPM and a speed of 40-45 MPH. This unexpected loss of power could have resulted in a severe accident, especially if I had been on a freeway or in heavy traffic where other drivers would not have anticipated my sudden deceleration. Diagnostic Findings: I took the vehicle to a mechanic, who scanned the fault code as DTC P0087 (Fuel Rail Pressure Too Low), confirming that the fuel pump is malfunctioning. The car can be made available for inspection upon request. Previous Condition: Prior to this incident, there were no warning lights or indications of a fuel system issue or any other issue. The sudden failure of the fuel pump has rendered my vehicle undriveable for over a week. Service Challenges: I reached out to the dealership for inspection and potential repairs; however, they quoted me $250 for the inspection and indicated there is a shortage of necessary parts, with a potential wait time of several months. This delay is unacceptable, given the safety risks involved. Conclusion: Given the correlation between my vehicle’s symptoms and the ongoing recall for fuel pump failures, I urge NHTSA to investigate this issue further. I believe my vehicle should be included in the recall, as it shares the same safety risks outlined in the active recall. This situation poses a significant risk not only to myself but also to other drivers on the road. Thank you for addressing this serious safety concern. I look forward to your prompt action.

In addition, the contact stated that previously, while the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed a strong fuel odor coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the odor had gotten lighter over the passing days. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with fuel line failure. The contact was informed that the fuel line needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the parts were ordered. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
I had a high pressure fuel pump failure on August 14 2022. I was driving on the highway in stop and go traffic when suddenly my car could not accelerate over 30mph. This was dangerous not only for me but for others around me. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they diagnosed it was a high pressure fuel pump failure. I was then told that this is a very rare part to have failed and there was no cause to the failure. There were no warning lamps, symptoms, or other messages prior to the failure.
When accelerating it does like it’s running out of gas and doesn’t want to go… I can feel the car sputting! I was going through a light that had turned green and an 18wheeler was coming up behind me thought the car wasn’t going to accelerate
CAR STALLS/DIES INTERMITTENTLY WHILE IN REVERSE AND IN MOTION. HAPPENS WHEN GOING SLOWLY TO BACK OUT OF PARKING SPACES OR DRIVEWAY.

THERE HAS BEEN AN ISSUE RECALLED FOR 2015 HONDA ACCORDS AND THEIR FUEL PUMP. I WAS ALMOST IN A CAR ACCIDENT WHILE IN A MAJOR HIGHWAY. WHY CAN'T THINS ISSUE BE FIXED, OR WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL AVAILABLE FOR MY VIN? WHEN THERE IS AN ACTUAL RECALL ON THIS ISSUE.
PERFORMED THE RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN 19V060000 WHICH REPROGRAMMED THE FUEL INJECTION ENGINE CONTROL UNIT SOFTWARE AND THE VERY NEXT DAY THE SYSTEM IS GIVING ME CHECK ENGINE CODE P0328 KNOCK SENSOR VOLTAGE HIGH. WHAT'S UP WITH THIS?
FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP AFTER HAVING THIS RECALL DONE ON MY CAR, I AM NOW HAVING FUEL ISSUES AS IF ITS NOT GETTING ENOUGH FUEL OR IT USES WAY TO MUCH. I USED HALF A TANK OF GAS TO GO 60 MILES. AND THEN ON THE WAY BACK I USED 1/8 OF A TANK. THIS WAS ALL INTERSTATE MILES BUT 10 MILES AND THAT WAS HIGHWAY.
MY 2015 HONDA ACCORD HAD FUEL PRESSURE PROBLEM 2 MONTHS AGO. I HAD IT FIXED AT AN AUTO REPAIR. REPLACED FUEL PUMP, FUEL LINE, THROTTLE GASKETS FOLLOWING BY HONDA BULLETIN . IT COSTED ME $1200 FOR THIS REPAIR. TODAY, MARCH 20TH, 2019, I FOUND OUT HONDA PUBLICED A RECALL ON THIS FUEL PUMP ISSUES BUT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT ON THE LIST OF RECALL. TODAY MY VEHICLE HAD SAME ISSUES. CANNOT START.
SEVERAL TIMES A DAY, WHEN STARTING OFF FROM A STANDING STILL, IT APPEARS TO BE FUEL STARVED. MANY TIMES THIS LASTS FROM 1-2 SECONDS TO ABOUT 5 SECONDS! I RETURNED THIS VEHICLE TO HONDA DEALER IN PANAMA CITY, FL WHO DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 15-20 MINUTES THEN INFORMED ME, 'THIS IS NORMAL!'
TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER ON OCTOBER 18, 2016 PER LETTER FROM HONDA TO HAVE PRODUCT UPDATE DTC P1890 PERFORMED. THIS WAS AN UPDATE TO THE PCM SOFTWARE FOR CVT TRANSMISSION. EVER SINCE THIS TIME THE MILEAGE HAS DROPPED SIGNIFICANTLY. I WAS GETTING 33MPG AROUND THE CITY. IT HAS DROPPED TO 27MPG. HIGHWAY MILEAGE HAS ALSO DROPPED FROM 37MPG TO 34MPG. CAR FEELS AS THOUGHT IT IS IN TOO LOW OF A GEAR WHEN ACCELERATING - A CHANGE FROM BEFORE THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. TOOK CAR BACK TO TWO DIFFERENT HONDA DEALERS. THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG NOR HAVE THEY HEARD ABOUT SIMILAR PROBLEMS.
WHILE IDLING DOWN THE STREET , I NOTICED THAT THE TACHOMETER INDICATED AN RPM OF LESS THAN 500. I DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR TO MOVE FORWARD AND HAD NO RESPONSE . THE ACCELERATOR WAS THEN DEPRESSED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH STILL NO RESPONSE. THE ACCELERATOR WAS THE LETUP ALL OF THE WAY AND DEPRESSED AGAIN AND THE ENGINE SPEEDED UP AS NORMAL. THIS SAME PROBLEM WAS EXPERIENCED IN A 2013 HONDA THAT WE JUST TRADED IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM THAT EXISTED FOR THE TWO YEARS THAT WE OWNED IT. THIS COULD BE A DANGEROUS SITUATION IF IT OCCURRED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC OR ON A FREEWAY. HONDA SAYS THAT THESE ARE THE ONLY TWO VEHICLES THAT HAVE EVER BEEN REPORTED WITH THIS KIND OF PROBLEM. PLEASE ENTER THIS AS A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS TRAFFIC PROBLEM .
WHEN YOU PRESSURE ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO POWER THE VEHICLE (LIKE PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC OR CHANGING LANES IN TRAFFIC, THE CAR STALLS AND PUT YOU AT RISK OF GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT. IT HAPPENS SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR DRIVING 55 MPH AND TRYING TO CHANGE LANES. DOES NOT MATTER IF THE CAR IS WARM OR COLD, BUT OCCURS LESS WHEN COLD.
THE 2015 HONDA VEHICLES HAVE A "GREEN" PRODUCT THAT CONSIST OF FUEL LINES AND VARIOUS WIRING THAT HAS A SOY BASED COMPOSITION. RODENTS ARE EATING THE FUEL LINES AND WIRING BECAUSE OF THE SOY BASED INGREDIENT. I KNOW OF NUMEROUS VEHICLES THAT HAVE LEAKED GASOLINE DUE TO THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY RODENTS. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM INCLUDES NUMEROUS VEHICLE MAKES. I FEEL THAT OUR NEW HONDA IS A TIME BOMB IN TERMS OF POTENTIAL FIRES. WHERE CAN WE PARK OUR VEHICLE AND KNOW THAT IT IS SAFE FROM RODENTS. PLEASE TAKE MY COMMENTS SERIOUS! IT APPEARS THAT HONDA AMERICA HAS DEVELOPED TAPE TO WRAP THE SOY BASED PRODUCTS IN.....THEY KNOW THAT THEY HAVE A PROBLEM. MY CAR WAS REPAIRED THIS WEEK AND THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT WRAP THE SOY BASED PRODUCTS IN THE TAPE?????? WILL IT TAKE SOMEONE DYING TO GET THIS PROBLEM CORRECTED?
