Hi my car the date Monday 12 September 2022. The car don't start and on the display is warning. Brake system problem. Parking brake not available. Brake performance may be reduced. The rear right caliper side is all broken complete internally. This is a real safety problem.
I tried starting my car today and it show me a brake system warning “ electric parking brake system problem. Parking brake not available see your dealer” And it didn’t let me start my car.
You lose power while driving than it stalls to about 20 mph Emmission warning lights come on. After cool down the car will drive normal speed again for a short time before it repeats itself driving 20 mph with emission warning light coming on. It is a very hazardous condition and dealerships can’t figure anything out. We have spent 1600.00 on fuel ejectors And car still doing the same thing. Next morning my husband drive it to work and was put in a hazardous condition.
I have a 2018 Honda Accord 2.0. Twice it left me stranded on the side of the road due to a failing fuel pump. the first time it kicked back on after an hour and all the lights turned off so they said a diagnostic cannot be performed. The second time I was driving in the middle of the road and the engine cut off and would not start, luckily I had some space to pull over but I was still in traffic and I called a tow truck. It took 6 1/2 hours to finally get it to the Honda dealership and they told me my fuel pump had failed and there is a recall for 2018 2.0s but not my specific Vin so I have to cover the cost. It’s $1055 plus taxes even though there’s an active recall for other 2018 2.0‘s but not my exact vehicle. The part is on back order and can take up to a month they are providing no service car and no help on the recall.
The car rear brakes are wearing down very quick. I replaced the rotors and the brake pads because the pads were actually rubbing the metal on the rotors. I replaced all original rotors and brake pads and about 10k miles, the rear brakes are making a metal to metal would. It seems like the rear brakes are engaged even though the parking brake and the foot is not on the brake pedal.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bag control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
software error causing intermittent disruptions in communication between the PCM . Car suddenly wouldn't start on multiple occasions have had vehicle checked many times not battery, not alternator, not starter it was deemed on 9/1 it's the PCM board failing to properly communicate...
Extended highway driving(500+miles). Collision Mitigation Problem continues to show as alert in dash. Does seem to reset when vehicle turned off and back on but this is not a new problem and a major reason for purchase
Paint peeling off 3 spots.
I have had this vehicle since June 2018 and I have not had any issues until the last month or so. The first incident happened while driving to work and it was raining, when I turned into the parking lot a number of warnings started going off : Electric Parking Brake System Problem, Brake System Problem, Brake Hold System Problem, Electric Power Steering System Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control System Problem. Parked my car, went in my office and called the dealership. They told me it was most likely because of the rain and that the issue should resolve on it's own. By lunch time it had stopped raining, went to get lunch and the warnings were gone, but now when accelerating I would lose power. So I go the the dealership, they check to see what the issue is and they can't find anything. Told me to come back if it does it again. Few weeks later, driving down the interstate going 75 and I start losing speed for no reason and car almost crashes into me due to the dramatic decrease in speed and once again all the warnings are back on - but it's not raining this time! Honda can't find any issues and I'm so frustrated because it's a danger to me!
2018 Accord Sport 1.5T - got a tune-up at around 98,000 miles. 1 month later, car went into 'limp' mode while trying to accelerate. Check engine code indicated misfire on cylinder 3. Had to have it towed - dealer found it also misfiring on cylinder 4 and determined it was a defective spark plug since they had just replaced all of them. 1 month later, did the same thing. Took it to a different dealer and they put a camera into each cylinder and found that cylinder 3 and to a lesser extent cylinder 4 were dirty. They are saying that head gasket is leaking coolant into the cylinders and recommending cylinder head replacement. This poses a safety issue as it is dangerous if the car won't accelerate when you expect that it should. Standard internet search indicates that this seems to be a fairly common issue with this particular engine (1.5T).
I Honda Accord recently has been displaying up to 17 error messages out of the blue. It doesn’t matter if I’m going 30 mph or 80 mph. It happens randomly and there is a power loss associated with it. It is happened to me on the highway and was extremely scary. I have disconnected the battery and the lights will go off for a little bit but randomly Sometimes the same day sometimes a day after all of the lights will come back on and all of the safety feature shut off. i’ve spoke with Honda and they have no known understanding of this happening but there are many many forums of this happening between multiple models of their vehicles around the 2018 range.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving 35 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance sensor activated independently, causing the vehicle to stall. The contact stated that the brake warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving to his destination. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,593.
While driving the whole dash board lights up staring break issues, lane departure issues. The car starts julring on ewsy. I was terrified. Then I moved off eway because the car breaks automatically on its own and slows down. The cars are flying around me. It turns out it's the fuel pump. I assume all accords are having fuel pump issues because I was told it would be October before I would receive a fuel pump on a 3yr old Honda sport. Please investigate and recall. This vehicle is having fuel pump issues and could kill someone when it breaks on the eway out of nowhere, slows down and dash board lights up. I was very lucky. It could've easily cased a major accident.
The suspension is off idk what it is. I haven’t in done anything to my car I’m the only person that drives it. I keep getting two notifications 1. Supplemental restraint problem see dealer 2. Lane assistant (power(electric) steering problem see dealer.
Back up camera not working
The sensor is located under the license plate, and because of it being so low, anything that hits it on the road, such as a rock or insects, the sensor gets triggered. There’s no protective cap on it. And every single light turns on the dash. Such as the collision, lane departure, brake system and cruise control.
While driving using ACC, the warning message “Crash mitigation not working” comes on out of nowhere and the cruise control stops working. This has happened multiple times. Also, About a month ago, my whole left side of the dash completely stopped working. CAM DTC are the error codes and cruise control and necessary functions just stopped working all together. It feels very unsafe and unreliable.
I bought this vehicle 8-25-2021. It had 22,000 miles on it. It now has 46,000 miles on it. I was feeling a vibration while driving. 7-31-2022 coming back from Louisiana into Texas I had a flat. When my husband removed the back tire to place the spare on, the tire was absolutely eaten up on the inside wall. There were chunks of rubber missing from the tire and we looked at other rear tire and it was worn beyond repair. I took my car 8-1-2023 to have 2 new back tires replaced and get an alignment, which has to be all wheel alignment due to front wheel drive. I was told that the rear camber had gone out. They quoted me $1000 to repair. I drive 40 miles one way to work Monday through Friday all highway. I do not drive over the speed limit and do not hit pot holes or curbs. Nowhere in my manual is there a schedule for alignment. I will attach a picture of the tires that were taken off 8-1-2022. This very upsetting and dangerous. I would think that a part that serious would last longer than 46,000 miles. And no one can align the tires do to this camber being broken. I don’t have the money to replace tires that often due to a defect on Honda America. I have read numerous posts from other Honda owners having this same issue. Thank you for your time and consideration. Have a blessed day.
On July 31st, 2022 at approximately 1135AM Central Time on I-90 westbound near Dekorra, WI when passing a tow truck in the middle lane as I was in the right most lane the Automatic Emergency Brake system sounded visual and audio alerts urging me to a *Brake Now*. Adaptive Cruise Control was engaged at approximately 73mph.
My vehicle has activated the collision avoidance/emergency braking on numerous occasions for no reason. I have taken it to my local Honda dealer for this problem, and since they cannot recreate it, they claim there is no problem. It generally happens when there are lines in the road, or a change in the color or the road surface. It happened again last week while I was traveling on US 301 near Maxville Fl. There is road resurfacing going on, therefore one lane is a lighter asphalt, and the other lane is dark. I was going about 60 mph, changed lanes, and the car slammed on the brakes and displayed the brake warning on the instrument panel. Fortunately, no one was behind me. This is the typical behavior of the car when it happens
Driving at 70 mph on interstate 74 in cruise control the vehicle automatically braked on its own nearly causing a rear end collision by the semi following. Vehicle then proceeded to de-rate down to 40 mph and would not accelerate beyond this causing us to drive down the highway with our hazards on over an hour home. Additionally, after making it home every warning lights for adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation, power steering assist, lane keep assist, etc. continue to come on and off. Vehicle was just at the local Honda dealership where they did a recalibration, to which I just picked up and within 10 miles of driving the vehicle every warning light is back in and vehicle de-rated again. Vehicle is very unsafe to drive and at this point a danger to myself, family and others on the road.
While driving at highway speeds the automatic emergency braking will trigger. First the flashing of the dash and then the audible beeping and then the car brakes very hard and then releases without anyone ahead of me.
While driving with two bars on the dashboard fuel level indicator, the car engine stalled and failed to accelerate. System warnings and dashboard lights for TPMS, Brake System, Power Steering, and others illuminated. Lights went away after re-fueling. This happened multiple times. Checked battery and found no issues. I believe this vehicle is affected by the fuel pump recall, but for some reason no open recalls show up on the search tool
Accord is throwing codes saying cylinder 1 and 4 are misfiring. It's causes several warning to appear. Occasionally will go into "limo mode." Mechanic says fuel injectors need replaced. Only 60k miles.
Four incidents of car braking on its own. Three on highway and one in town. On highway no other vehicle was near us.
Engine light started blinking and engine started missing and lost power while on highway
Cmbs lights came on and power steering, after that low air pressure on tire
The car’s Collision Mitigation system stops working for no reason, causing me to completely lose my cruise control until I can turn off the car and restart it. This has happened in stop-and-go traffic on the Interstate while the car is under the control of the adaptive cruise control as well as while driving down the road with absolutely no other cars around me. Suddenly the system cuts off and the Collision Mitigation Warning message comes on. The Honda dealership has no response to this. I have had the car since September 2021, and this occurs approximately 3 times per month.
Paint chipping on both sides of roof edges.
Quite simply we were driving through a construction zone that was down to one lane with monitored traffic. My wife was driving and approaching a steel plate in the road that was laid on top of existing asphalt. While slowing down to move over the plate at a slower rate of speed the automatic breaking brought the car to an unnecessary stop almost causing a collision from behind. This was super scary and alarming. Will this happen if we are going 35, 55, 70 mph?
POTENTIALLY FATAL BRAKE FAILURE DEFECT IN ELECTRONIC BRAKE CALIPER ACTUATOR. REPAIR SHOP (719) 528-5666 SAID METAL-ON-METAL FOR DRIVER-SIDE REAR BRAKE.
Failing fuel injectors. Stalls vehicle in highway. May cause accident/collision.
I got a Collision Mitigation Braking System warning while driving at a high speed > 60 mph on the Interstate with adaptive cruise control turned on. The system suddenly cuts off speed and lost cruise control. I have to stop on road side, turn off the car and restart it for the warning go away.
The vehicle on two separate occasions has out of the blue completely engaged in an automatic emergency braking when there is no reason to and no other vehicles on the road. Most Recently I went to merge on the highway, there was no traffic infront of me and it was sunny and daytime. The vehicle engaged the emergency braking very aggressively and my car went from 65-35 quickly. There was a car and semi truck behind me I could see in my rear view mirror, they almost ran into the back of me. In the moment I tried hitting the gas pedal to speed back up while braking was still happening and the car would not allow me to accelerate or speed up until the ‘braking’ portion was over. This is happened numerous times going on on ramps and then randomly driving down the road, and not when there’s a reason to emergency brake. Three months ago when I got the vehicle I was driving down the highway and the system randomly disengaged and every single warning light for the braking system and Ford collision came on. I pulled over and called Honda, when I restarted the car all of the lights and everything went away. I’m in multiple Honda Accord groups and apparently this is a very common issue with these cars just wanted to add that as well
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 MPH, there was an abnormal grinding sound coming from the rear-end of the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the electronic brake actuator was fully engaged causing the metal to rub together. The contact stated that the driver’s side rear no longer had functioning brakes. The contact was informed that the electronic brake actuator and brake caliper needed to be replaced. The dealer was contacted; however, the contact was unable to speak with a representative. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000. The consumer stated the vehicle was repaired at owners expense.
Rear brakes are wearing very quickly
Two times while driving on the highway at 75-80 mph with CMBS system on and utilizing ACC. Out of nowhere, vehicle drops speed, ACC OFF notice comes on and an alert stating Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem. See dealer pops up. . At this point, I have to quickly react to increase speed on gas pedal and avoid someone hitting me from behind. I am not able to re-engage the ACC the remainder of the travel. After turning off the vehicle, the CMBS resets and ACC is available again. This is not possible to do while driving on a highway. The second time it happened, I was changing lanes into the passing lane on left and I seriously could have been hit due to my speed deceleration. I took the vehicle straight to the dealer and the guy checking me in said they get a lot of those system errors. This is not reassuring! They ran a diagnostic, step by step the advisor said, only to say the system shows no issue. This is not acceptable to me as I do not feel safe driving. In addition, the lane keeping assist LKAS feature also malfunctions. When there are shadows on the road, my car wants to swerve and steer me incorrectly. My car also will display a giant orange BRAKE warning when nothing is in front of me. One time it braked so hard that my seatbelt locked up and everything on my passenger seat slid off the seat. Thankfully, nobody was immediately behind me because I could have been hit for the sudden and unanticipated braking.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 75 mph, the vehicle went into limp mode and shut down. The accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to move. The engine warning indicator light was flashing. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced phantom braking. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
Many times since I have purchased my 2018 Accord Touring 1.5T - I have found that sometimes my car will slam on the brakes when doing a lane change. I kind of found that It will do this if I dont have my turn signal indicator on. It is extremely stressful when it does this on the Interstate doing 65 or 70 MPH's. I try to slam the accelerator to the floor when this happens for fear of getting hit from behind. If this normal or a safety defect?
Brakes: Every day for past two years, on every startup car states Brake system problem, anti-lock brake problem, and TPMS problem; with it having no actual problem with brake system and message disappearing after a few minutes of driving. SRS: Intermittent display of SRS light while driving reading: airbag system or seat belt tensioners have a problem. Usually appears after Passenger airbag light intermittently turning on and off with nothing in front passenger seat. SRS light on dash doesn’t come back on after restarting car. Issue did not appear until seat belt recall last year.
Driving down at approximately 20-30 mph on a clear day. Vehicle in front of me was turning left and I was going straight so I veered right. Vehicle turns on orange brake sign on dash and suddenly pressed the brakes full stop. Good thing no one was behind me. Automatic braking can only be turned off via a physical button on left side and changing settings on dash. This is a frequent problem that happends atleast ones a month.
My 2018 Honda Accord brake automatically when it’s nothing in front of me, this has happen 3 times without any car in front of me.The car behind me like to hit me because my car put on brakes automatically.
When driving on the freeway (>50mph) with no obstacles visible in front of me, the Forward Collision System will occasionally cause the HUD to rapidly flash and warn me to “BRAKE”. It will display this message for a couple of seconds before disappearing. I have noticed that this has a higher chance of occurring when I am driving towards the sun.
I purchased the vehicle from a Honda dealership on 5/21/2022. The Multi-View Rear Camera stopped working correctly after only a few weeks of ownership. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the problem. I didn't take the vehicle back until 11/28/2022, due to the 3YR/36K factory warranty being expired. I also didn't purchase any extended warranty coverage due to the mileage on the vehicle being only 13,878 at that time. There has been a previous recall due to the Multi-View Rear Camera (Recall Numbers: K2G & V2F). The NHTSA Campaign Number is: 18V629. The information related to this recall states that the Multi-View Rear Camera may fail because of bad software. I feel that the safety of myself, other passengers that I may have in the vehicle, as well as the safety of others, are at risk due to the Multi-View Rear Camera not working properly.
The locking mechanism has been malfunctioning. The key fob does not open the driver door and the internal button in the vehicle works sporadically. Opening this door requires a key. This has been an ongoing issue for years but is now at its worst.
While driving 35mph and accelerating, emergency braking system deployed. The lights on the dash and audible beeps presented simultaneously. There were no other cars on the road other than a parked vehicle off to the drivers side. Vehicle slowed to around 5mph before releasing. No accident occurred. Honda dealership stated no active recalls were noted and an appointment would take several weeks based on the labor shortages.
So Wednesday evening my car started driving bad jerk every time i gave it gas really bad and yesterday morning I was otw to work my car started jerking not accelerating at all all kind of lights flashing acc, emissions system problem, check engine light, brakes, tire pressure monitor and antilock brakes flashed scared me to death I have read its plenty consumer stated they have had the same problems
Twice while driving on 110S in morning rush hour traffic, I get a lane departure warning and the car starts braking. I am not sure if the system is designed to do that but it was a bit scary.
