DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG EXPERIENCED NO DEPLOYMENT DURING COLLISION. *YC
MAY 9, 1998 WHEN THE FIRST OCCURENCE HAPPENED. I WAS DRIVING AT 25-30 MPH AND WHEN I NEEDED TO BRAKE, IT DIDN'T WORK AT THE FIRST TIME. I HAD TO PUMP SEVERAL TIMES AND STILL IT DIDN'T WORK AT ALL, SO I USED THE EMERGENCY HAND BRAKES, AND SO IT STOPPED. THIS HAPPENED WHEN MY MILEAGE WAS PRIOR TO 1479. THE NEXT DAY, I CONTACT PARAGON HONDA TO SCHEDULE THE CHECK-UP. MAY 13, 1998 - I TOOK THE CAR TO PARAGON HONDA AND RELATE THEM MY COMPLAIN. THEY TEST DRIVE IT AND FOUND ALL OK AT THAT TIME (I HAVE THE INVOICE NO. 85016 DTD. 5/14/98). THE WEEKEND (MAY 17, 1998) WHEN I USED THE CAR, THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN. I FEEL VERY VERY SCARED BECAUSE I ALMOST GOT INTO ACCIDENT. I HAD TO PUMP SEVERAL TIMES AND STILL IT DIDN'T WORK AT ALL. SAME REMEDY, I USED THE HANDBRAKES TO STOP IT. MAY 18, 1998 - THIS TIME I TALKED AND INSISTED WITH THE PARAGON MANAGER THAT THEY SHOULD REALLY TEST AND CHECK THE CAR BRAKES FOR SEVERAL DAYS. THEY ROADTESTED THE CAR FOR 163 MILES, AND FOUND EVERYTHING NORMAL. AFTER COUPLE OF MONTHS, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME I WAS HESITANT TO TAKE THE CAR BACK TO HONDA DEALER BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I WAS SO BUSY WITH MY BUSINESS THAT I HAD NO TIME TO GO TO THE DEALER AND FIGHT FOR MY RIGHT TO HAVE MY CAR FIXED. I DECIDED LATER ON TO GO TO A CONSUMER COMPLAINT BUREAU TO ASK FOR ADVISE AS TO WHAT TO DO, TILL I TRIED TO CHECK YOU ON THE INTERNET. LAST MONTH OF NOVEMBER, IT HAPPENED AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK WHEN I'M DRIVING AT 25-30 MPH. THIS TIME, I DECIDED TO TAKE A SERIOUS ACTION ON THIS PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER HAS EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WIITH DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS. VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION IN WHICH AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE MANUFACTURER HAS YET TO BE CONTACTED. *AK
WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED THERE IS A KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR END OF VEHICLE. *AK
COVER OVER THE FUEL COMPARTMENT FAILED (CAP). YH
THE CONSUMER HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SIDES AIR BAGS. WHEN INVOLVED IN A FRONT COLLISION, AIRBAGS DEPLOYED TOO EARLY, CAUSING UNNECESSARY DAMAGE. DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK.ET.
FUEL INJECTORS.
WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH ON WET PAVEMENT WENT TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. DRIVER'S AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. *AK
VEHICLE MAKES STRANGE PINGING/RATTLING NOISES WHILE ACCELERATING. ONLY FOUND WHEN ENGINE IS WARM AND VEHICLE IS MOVING(IN GEAR). NOISE MOST PREVAILANT JUST PRIOR TO REACHING RECOMMENDED SHIFT POINT FOR 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION. HONDA FACTORY TROUBLESHOOTER CALLS THIS STRANGE NOISE NORMAL.
LEFT REAR WINDOW DOES NOT WORK. *YC
VEHICLE WOULD MAKE RATTLING NOISES IN REAR ONCE IT HITS A POTHOLE OR CRACKS IN THE ROAD AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP OVER A DOZEN TIMES, BUT MECHANIC COULD NOT REPAIR IT, BUT DID HEAR THE NOISES. *AK
THE CONSUMER HAS EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. WHEN THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES AND CAR REFUSED TO STOP. AS A RESULT, CAR SLID ACROSS THE ROAD. THE CONSUMER SLID OFF OF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED.*AK
ELECRICAL TRANSMISSION CONNECTOR FAILED. YH
ENGINE COMPUTER FAILED. MJS
BRAKE PADS NOISY. *YC
BOTH AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT HARD BRAKING OR A COLLISION. DRIVER LOST CONTROL AND WAS INJURED.
TRANSMISSION IS INTERMITTENTLY NOT CHANGING GEARS. WHEN IT REACHES HIGH GEAR TRANSMISSION WOULD STAY IN LOW GEAR. DEALER NOTIFIED, AND CONDITION HAS BEEN RESOLVED. *AK
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED ON AN INCLINE, IT ROLLS TO THE BOTTOM OF THE INCLINE.
VEHICLE HAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT WITH THE TRANSMISSION. HONDA ADMITS THAT THERE IS NO FIX FOR SAFTEY PROBLEM.
BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY DURING TWO ACCIDENTS, BOTH ACCIDENTS HAD SIGNIFICANT FRONT END TO WARRANT DEPLOYMENT OF BOTH AIRBAGS, INJURY TO CONSUMER DURING 2ND ACCIDENT (FACIAL). YH
TRANSMISSION FAILED CAUSING VEHICLE TO SURGE.
AIR BAGS--HONDA (5-7 MPH) COLLIDED WITH DODGE (30-40 MPH), HITTING THE RIGHT FRONT PORTION OF THE VEHICLE. AIR BAGS ON DODGE ACTIVATED, AIR BAGS ON HONDA DID NOT.
VEHICLE ACCELERATOR STUCK WIDELY OPEN. THE VEHICLE DID NOT SLOW DOWN WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. SPEED INCREASED FROM 67 TO 100 MPH. CONSUMER TURNED THE IGNITION OFF TO STOP VEHICLE. VEHICLE IS BEING CHECKED BY DEALER. *AK
REAR MAIN SEAL FAILED CAUSING OIL LEAK. MJS
THE VEHICLE WAS AT AN EXIT WHEN A TRUCK REAR ENDED THE VEHICLE, THROWING THE CAR 69 FEET INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY, AND THE FRONT SEAT BROKE. DEALER CONTACTED. *AK ONE PERSON WAS INJURED IN ACCIDENT. *SLC
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ACCELERATOR CABLE GOT AROUND THE CRUISE CONTROL, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. HAD TO BREAK A PART AROUND THE CRUISE CONTROL IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE.
ASHTRAY SPRING FAILED. *YC
CAR WAS IN PARK, HAND BRAKE WAS UP-LIMIT, AIR CONDITIONER AND ENGINE ON, IN A DRIVEWAY WITH AN INCLINE. I WAS UNLOADING THREE PET BIRDS FROM CAR IN OVER 90 DEGREE WEATHER, THEREFORE LEFT AIR CONDITIONER ON. WHEN I WAS DONE UNLOADING, I KNELT ON MY KNEES ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND REACHED OVER TO IGNITION, TURNED KEY AND REMOVED IT. CAR JUMPED GEARS TO NEUTRAL AND SLID BACK DOWN HILL, INTO STREET, CAUSING CLOSE TO $2,000 DAMAGE TO MY CAR AS WELL AS DAMAGE TO THE CAR I WAS PARKED NEXT TO IN DRIVEWAY. I COULD EASILY HAVE BEEN SEVERLY HURT OR KILLED HAD A CAR BEEN COMING UP OR DOWN THE STREET. I REPORTED PROBLEM TO AMERICAN HONDA. SENT NUMEROUS LETTERS. WAS INITIALLY JUST LAUGHED AT. EVENTUALLY THEY OPENED A CASE NUMBER BUT CONCLUDED IT WAS "DRIVER ERROR". IN LIGHT OF THE RECENT NEWS RELEASES ABOUT THE PREVELANCE OF THIS DEFECT ON HONDAS AND ACURAS, I AM FURIOUS.*AK

TIMING BELT, DRIVE SHIFT.
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AT ABOUT 70 MPH . UPON IMPACT, THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE PASSENGER, WHO WAS RESTRAINED WAS KNOCKED UNTO THE REAR BEHIND THE DRIVER. DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
WHILE APPROACHING A STOP SIGN AND APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL THERE WAS NO RESPONSE DUE TO THE FLOOR MAT GETTING CAUGHT UP UNDER THE ACCELERATOR ,CAUSING VEHICLE TO ALMOST BE IN AN ACCIDENT. DEALER HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING SPACE, VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND WENT OVER CONCRETE IN SPACE AND HIT A WALL. REPAIRS DONE, BOTH AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. DEALER CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING, CONSUMER WAS CUT OFF BY ANOTHER VEHICLE WHICH SPED UP TO PASS HER IN THE HIGH SPEED LANE OF THE HIGHWAY, LEAVING ONLY 10 TO 15 FEET CLEAREANCE, AND THEN SLAMMED ON BRAKES AS THE VEHICLE SOON PASSED THE CONSUMER, SHE THEN SWERVED TO AVOID COLLIDING WITH THE VEHICLE, AND LOST CONTROL, STRIKING THE CENTER GUARD RAIL HEAD-ON IN WHICH THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY.(ATTORNEY ON BEHALF OF CLIENT)*JB
WHILE IN A CAR ACCIDENT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
VEHICLE EXPERINCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION RESULTING IN VEHICLE COLLISION.
GLASSES FOR ALL WINDOWS DO NOT APPEAR NORMAL (RESIDUE) CAUSING POOR VISIBILITY. YH
ALTERNATOR FAILED CAUSING HEAD LIGHTS TO FAIL. YH
WHILE DRIVING THE DEFECTIVE STEERING COLUMN MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE NOT TO HAVE STEERING ABILITY WHICH CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. *AK
MY ACCELERATOR PEDAL GETS STUCK AND CANNOT BE PRESSED UNLESS A LOT OF FORCE IS USED. WHEN THE PEDAL COMES UNSTUCK THE CAR THEN JUMPS FORWARD. THIS MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE, ESPECIALLY IN SLOW TRAFFIC AND WHEN IT RAINS. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALER EIGHT TIMES TO REPAIR FROM JUNE 1998 TO NOVEMBER 2002, BUT THEY COULD NOT REPAIR IT, EVEN THOUGH HONDA HAD A SAFETY RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE FLOOR MAT NEVER CAUSED THE STICKING. NOW HONDA SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND THAT ANY POSSIBLE PROBLEMS ARE DUE TO LACK OF PROPER MAINTENANCE (IMPROPER OIL AND TRANSMISSION FLUIDS USED). *AK
WHILE ACCELERATING THE MAT JAMMED ON ACCELERATER AND GOT STUCK. CONSUMER HAD TO GO UNDER STEERING WHELL TO RELEASE MAT. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND THEY CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, PROBLEM HAS BEEN REOCCURRING. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THE THROTTLE STUCK, CAUSING ENGINE TO RACE AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT DECREASE SPEED WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. *AK
GAS PEDAL KEEP GETTING STUCK. CONSUMER HAD TO HIT EMERGENCY BRAKES TO STOP VEHICLE. *AK
TRUNK LIFT SPRINGS ARE TOTALLY INEFFECTIVE AND ALLOW TRUNK LID TO DROP SUDDENLY STRIKING ANY PERSON OR OBJECT IN ITS PATH
FAULTY HEAT SHIELD ON THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. *YC
DOME LIGHT WON'T WORK WHEN DOORS ARE OPEN.
WINDSHIELD FAILED TWICE. YH

SUNROOF RUBBER MOLDING DOESN'T FIT. YH
