LIKE IN COMPLAINT #10225955, MY 2008 CIVIC 4-DR EX-L SPORADICALLY REFUSES TO STOP. IT HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES SO FAR, AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS, IN DIFFERENT WEATHER, WITH AND WITHOUT THE CRUISE CONTROL ON. I WILL LIGHTLY PUSH THE BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN, AND THEN PUSH SLIGHTLY HARDER ONCE I'VE REACHED THE CROSSWALK/INTERSECTION TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. INSTEAD OF STOPPING, THE CAR WILL LUNGE FORWARD ONCE OR TWICE. IT'S LIKE THE BRAKE IS ON BUT THE ENGINE IS STILL TRYING TO ACCELERATE, AND IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING. I'VE BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALER ONCE AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NORMAL DOWNSHIFTING OF GEARS WHILE COMING TO A STOP--BUT THAT SHOULD NOT CAUSE THE CAR TO ACTUALLY JOLT FORWARD, STOP, AND THEN JOLT FORWARD AGAIN, WITH MY FOOT SQUARELY ON THE BRAKE THE ENTIRE TIME. (I LOOKED DOWN AT MY FEET THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPENED BECAUSE I WONDERED IF I WAS PRESSING THE GAS BY MISTAKE. I WASN'T.) I'M BRINGING IT INTO THE DEALER AGAIN, BUT AM NOT HOPEFUL THAT THEY WILL FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. *TR
PURCHASED 2008 CIVIC IN MAY 2008 AND HAVE HAD REGULAR SERVICE DONE AT DEALER. TIRES WORN UNEVENLY AND SOME CUPPING OF REAR TIRES OCCURRED. NOTICED AT LAST SERVICE APPOINTMENT. CAR HAD 29,700 MILES AT THAT TIME. SINCE TIRES WERE ROTATED AT THAT TIME I HAVE NOTICED AGGRAVATING ROAD NOISE AND STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION. DEALER BALANCED TIRES WHICH SEEMED TO HELP FOR A LITTLE WHILE, BUT DID NOT CURE THE PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CIVIC. THE REAR CONTROL ARMS HAVE FAILED, WHICH CAUSED EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR. THIS CONDITIONS MADE THE TIRES TILT INWARD. THIS ALSO CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO DRIFT WHEN DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT ALIGNED THE REAR WHEELS TO THE CORRECT SPECIFICATIONS. THE HONDA MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD INVESTIGATE THE FAILURE. HE NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,800. THE CONSUMER STATED HONDA CALIFORNIA CALLED AND SAID THEY INVESTIGATED AND FOUND THERE AS NO PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER ASKED WHY ON THE ALIGNMENT REPORT IT STATED THAT BOTH REAR WHEELS SHOWED THE NEGATIVE CAMBER OUTSIDE OF RANGE THAT THEY ALLOW. HIS RESPONSE WAS THAT HE DIDN'T SEE A PROBLEM, BUT WOULD PUT THE CONSUMER ON RECORD. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD INVESTIGATE HIS COMPLAINT OFF THE RECORD. THE CONSUMER WAS OFFERED 4 NEW TIRES, WHICH DOES NOTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM OF KEEPING THE VEHICLE IN A STRAIGHT LINE ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE NEEDED AN ADJUSTABLE REAR SUSPENSION ARM TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, BEFORE THE TIRES BECOME WORN OUT. UPDATED 11/16/09 *JB UPDATED 11/17/09 *BF UPDATED 11/18/09. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2008 HONDA CIVIC LX. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 10-15 MPH THE ENGINE BEGAN TO REV. AFTERWARDS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO DECELERATE HE HAD TO INCREASE HIS STOPPING DISTANCES. THE FAILURES OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURES. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURES. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,170. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 5,515.
REAR TIRE CUPPING ON 2008 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID- DEALER CHANGED REAR UPPER CONTROL ARMS @ 12,000 MILE. I CHANGED TIRES @ 15,000 -- NEW TIRES ARE DOING THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS THAT I HAVE NEEDED TO REPLACE MY SUN VISORS. THE FIRST TIME IN JUNE OF 2009, MY DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR WAS MELTED BY THE HEAT, CRACKED OPEN AND WOULD NO LONGER REMAIN IN THE "UP CLOSED POSITION," INSTEAD, IT WOULD HANG IN MY FACE, IMPEDING MY VISION. SUFFICE TO SAY I WAS NOT PLEASED. JUST YESTERDAY, (9/06/09) THE SAME THING HAPPENED BUT TO MY PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE NOT FOLDED DOWN MY DRIVER SIDE FOR FEAR OF IT MELTING AND HANGING IN MY FACE BUT YESTERDAY A PASSENGER USED THE PASSENGER VISOR AND LEFT IT IN THE DOWN POSITION, AND THE NEXT DAY IT WAS MELTED. I AM AFRAID THAT IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN ON THE DRIVER SIDE SO I DO NOT USE MY SUN VISOR AT ALL FOR FEAR OF HAVING TO SPEND TIME TAKING IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT REPEATEDLY REPLACED. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH THE VEHICLE WAS NOT RESPONSIVE. AS HE DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE VEHICLE MOVED SLOWLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INFORMED HIM THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT THE VEHICLE WAS FUNCTIONING THE WAY IT WAS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE FAILURE AND SINCE IT WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY THERE WAS NO WAY TO REPAIR IT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000. UPDATED 01/12/11*LJ UPDATED 02/09/11*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED DUE TO SUSPECTED BATTERY FAILURE, HONDA OFFERED A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO PROLONG THE BATTERY. THE CONSUMER DID NOT GET THE SOFTWARE UPDATE IT MAY HAVE REDUCED THE FUEL ECONOMY. UPDATED 03/08/11
2008 HONDA CIVIC AND HAVE HAD 3 SUN VISORS REPLACED. THEY CRACK AND THEN FLOP DOWN INTO THE DRIVERS FIELD OF VIEW. THIS HASN'T CAUSED AND ACCIDENT BUT CERTAINLY HAS THE POTENTIAL TO DO SO. DEALER CLAIMS HONDA ISN'T INTERESTED IN FIXING THIS PROBLEM; THEY WILL ONLY REPLACE THEM AS THEY BREAK. LAST VISOR LASTED 2 MONTHS. *TR
INTERMITTENT TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE. FIRST TIME HAD ONE PASSENGER, A/C WAS ON, TERRAIN WAS FLAT. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILED TO ENGAGE PROPERLY. 2ND TIME: HAD 2 PASSENGERS IN REAR, A/C WAS ON, GOING UPHILL. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILED TO ENGAGE PROPERLY. ENGINE REVVED AND CAR CREPT UPHILL. *TR
ALTHOUGH HAVE HAD TIRES ROTATED AND BALANCED AT 10,000. AT 13,000 NOTICED TIRE NOISE AND DISCOVERED CUPPING AND UNEVEN WEAR ON REAR TIRES. HONDA DEALER IN LANCASTER, PA SAID COULD DO NOTHING, NOT EVEN CHECK ALIGNMENT UNLESS I PAID. I HAD ALIGNMENT CHECKED AT ANOTHER GARAGE. ALL IS WITHIN SPECS. HE SAID A LOT OF THE CIVICS HAVE THIS PROBLEM. HE PUT THE BEST 2 TIRES ON FRONT. I INFLATE MY TIRES TO 36 LBS SO THAT TIRES RIDE ON CENTER AND MAKE LESS NOISE. PRESENT MILEAGE 18,000. *TR
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATES FORWARD UNEXPECTEDLY AND DOES NOT STOP. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES MOSTLY LOWER SPEEDS WHEN APPROACHING A STOP SIGN/LIGHT AND ALMOST CAUSED MULTIPLE REAR END COLLISIONS. *TR

AT 15KMILES THE NOISE HAD GOTTEN UNBEARABLE. I ASKED MY LOCAL MECHANIC TO CHECK AND SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING OBVIOUS BEFORE I TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALER AND HE NOTED THAT THE REAR TIRES APPEARED TO HAVE THE BELTS SLIPPED AND THAT THE RIGHT TIRE APPEARED WORN OUT. I CALLED HONDA AND THEY DIRECTED ME TO BRIDGESTONE WHO TOLD ME THE TIRES WERE WORN OUT BECAUSE HONDA HAS A CHASSIS PROBLEM AND THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT WARRANTED FOR WEAR. HONDA SAID THERE IS NO TECHNICAL ISSUES WITH THEIR SUSPENSION AND THEY COULDN'T HELP ME. SO I HAVE A CAR WITH TIRES THAT ARE WORN OUT AT 15K MILES AND I HAVE NO RECOURSE BUT TO EAT IT AND HOPE THAT THE NEXT SET OF TIRES WEARS BETTER. THIS IS UNSAFE IN MY OPINION. POOT TIRE WEAR CAN ONLY COME FROM SO MANY THINGS. I HAVE AIR PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM, SO IT WASN'T IMPROPER INFLATION, THE VEHICLE IS NEW SO IT ISN'T SUSPENSION ISSUES, THE TIRES WERE ROTATED TWICE IN FIRST 10K MILES (DOCUMENTED). IT IS SUGGESTED THAT DISSATISFIED OWNERS SUBMIT COMPLAINTS TO THE BBB, STATE CONSUMER PROTECTION AND CONSIDER ACTION UNDER THE LEMON LAWS FOR HONDA REPURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE. 2008 HONDA CIVIC SUNVISOR SPLIT, CAUSING VISIBILITY PROBLEMS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT RENTED A 2008 HONDA CIVIC FROM HERTZ. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND THE BRAKES FAILED WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT. WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED, HE TRIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND HE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THREE PEOPLE WERE INJURED AND TRANSPORTED TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. A POLICE REPORT IS AVAILABLE IF NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CALLED. THE RENTAL AND INSURANCE COMPANY WERE NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS REJECTED FROM THE SYSTEM.
SEVERE TIRE CUPPING, EARLY TIRE FAILURE. DEALER UNABLE TO FIX CAUSE OF PROBLEM, THEY STATE THAT IT RESULTS FROM A DESIGN FLAW (NON-ADJUSTABLE CAMBERS/ARMS). TIRES FAILED AT 20,000 MILES AND ARE FAILING AGAIN AT 44,000 MILES. I HAD TO FIGHT WITH HONDA TO GET THEM TO GO 50/50 ON THE FIRST SET OF REPLACED (DUNLOP) TIRES. THEY ARGUES THAT I HAD ENJOYED USING THEM FOR 1/2 THEIR LIFE, SO 50% WAS THEIR MAXIMUM DOLLAR MATCH. I WAS ALSO TOLD TO "ROTATE" MY TIRES MORE FREQUENTLY, EVEN THOUGH I HAD SERVICE RECORDS SHOWING THAT I DO ROTATE ON A ROUTINE BASIS AT THE DEALERSHIP. FROM WHAT I AM RESEARCHING ONLINE, HONDA HAS A BIG PROBLEM GOING ON WITH TIRE CUPPING ON THE CIVIC HYBRIDS. MY HOPE IS THAT THIS IS RESEARCHED BY THE NHTSA MORE THOROUGHLY. I AM SEEING NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON YOUR WEBSITE ABOUT THIS ISSUE.....SOME ARE FILED UNDER "TIRES" WHILE OTHERS FILED UNDER "REAR SUSPENSION". I'M GUESSING THE CHOOSE TO FILE UNDER "REAR SUSPENSION" BECAUSE DEALERS LIKE MINE ARE STATING THAT THIS IS A CAMBER ISSUE. ON A SIDE NOTE, AND THIS IS ODD TO ME, THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT BRING MY ALIGNMENT INTO MANUFACTURE RECOMMENDED "SPEC" EITHER. THE NUMBERS ARE SIGNIFICANTLY "OFF" WHERE HONDA SAYS THEY SHOULD BE. I HAVE A 2008 HONDA CIVIC COUPE AT APPROXIMATELY 18,000 MILES REAR-END NOISE STARTED, AT 20,000 MILES IT BECAME UNBEARABLE. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO BATTLE CREEK HONDA AND THEY TOLD US THE REAR TIRES WERE CUPPED AND THE REAR WHEELS WERE OUT OF ALIGNMENT. HAD TO ALIGN THE CAR AND REPLACE TIRES WITH 20,000 MILES. THE CAR ALSO HANDLES VERY POORLY IN SNOW AND WET ROAD CONDITIONS. *TR
I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO TURN FOR HELP MY PROBLEMS IS THAT I BOUGHT A HONDA CIVIC LAST YEAR 2008, FOR BUSINESS USE. MY WIFE WAS USING IT TO COMMUTED FROM HOME TO BUSINESS EVERY DAY. IT HAPPENED YESTERDAY (AUG/12) WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING DOWN I-15 AND BANGERTER HWY SHE HEARD A SNAP SOUND VERY LOUD UNDER THE CAR, SHE THEN SLOWED DOWN TO 60MPH. THE CAR BEHIND HER PASSED ALONG SIDE HER AND SIGNALED HER TO PULL THE CAR OVER IMMEDIATELY. SHE PULLED OVER AND GOT OUT TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE, AND SHE FOUND OUT THAT THE AXLE (SUSPENSION SUPPORT) HAD BROKE OFF. THE ONLY THING THAT HELD THE SHAFT FROM FLYING OFF THE ROAD WERE THE BRAKE CABLE AND ELECTRICAL CABLE. THANK GOD, NOTHING HAPPENED TO HER AND MY 10 MONTH OLD SON AND MY SECOND CHILD ON THE WAY. SHE IMMEDIATELY CALLED ME TO LET ME KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON. I HAD HER CALLED THE TOW TRUCK AND TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO LARRY MILLER HONDA FOR NOW. ON THE SAME DAY I HAD TO FLY BACK TO SALT LAKE TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEMS. I CALLED HONDA CONSUMER PUBLIC AFFAIRS FOR ASSISTANCE BUT THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULDN'T HELP ME. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS RANGING FROM 35 TO 65 MPH, HE NOTICED A VIBRATION IN THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VIBRATION WAS DUE TO A NEGATIVE CAMBER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 13000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5500.
2008 HONDA CIVIC BRAKES WEARING OUT AFTER ONLY 16,000 MILES OF USE. HONDA MOTORS STATES THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES BUT WE WILL NEED TO BRING THE CIVIC IN FOR A BRAKE REPLACEMENT EVERY 15-17000 MILES OR EVERY 18 MONTHS.*TR
FRONT SUSPENSION STEERING THERE IS A CLUNKING OR SNAPPING SOUND WHEN TURNING OR MAKING A U TURN LEFT. TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALER AND THERE WAS NO CAUSE FOR THE NOISE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ENTIRE LEFT FRONT ASSEMBLY; LEFT DRIVE SHAFT, CV JOINT, HUB AND BEARINGS. THEN THE DEALER CHECKED THE RACK AND PINION AND FOUND THAT THEY WERE NOT TORQUED CORRECTLY AND WAS RESET TO FACTORY SPECS. WELL ONE YEAR LATER THE CLUNKING AND SNAPPING SOUND SLOWLY RETURNED. AND WHILE MAKING SLOW LEFT TURNS. IT HAPPENS ON AND OFF. NOW ITS PASSED WARRANTY.
ODOMETER - JUST HAD 10,000 MILE SERVICE DONE 2 WEEKS AGO, BUT HAD LESS THAN 9,000 MILES. I TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO WORK SO MY YEARLY MILEAGE IS LOW. WHILE DRIVING MY CARE TO THE BUS STOP THIS MORNING, I NOTICED THAT MY ODOMETER READS OVER 14,400 MILES - -THAT MEANS I HAVE DRIVEN OVER 5,500 MILES IN TWO WEEKS - -ALMOST AS MUCH AS I HAVE DRIVEN FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR. THE ODOMETER HAS OBVIOUSLY JUMPED 5,000+ MILES. I AM CONVINCED THIS IS NOT A DEALER SERVICE SCAM BECAUSE THE OIL CHANGE REMINDER STICKER THEY PLACED IN THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF MY WINDSHIELD SHOWS MY NEXT SERVICE IN NOVEMBER 09 WITH AN ANTICIPATED 13,000 MILE USAGE. THIS ISSUE IS HUGE FOR ME BECAUSE I LEASE THIS CAR, AND NOW THIS COULD DRAMATICALLY IMPACT THE WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE ALONG WITH MY MILEAGE ALLOWANCE. THE DEALER WANTS ME TO BRING IN THE CAR WHICH I WILL DO AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I DID ASK THE SERVICE REP TO MAKE NOTE OF MY NAME AND COMPLAINT SO THAT WHEN I COME IN THEY CANNOT CLAIM I ADDED THAT MUCH MILEAGE. *TR
2008 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID PURCHASED NEW, IT NOW HAS 22K MILES, TIRES WERE ROTATED AT 17K MILES DURING DEALER WORK TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE RACK AND PINION. ON 7/20/09 DEALER ADVISED THAT LACK OF TIMELY TIRE ROTATION AND ALIGNMENT IS THE CAUSE OF EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR NOTED ON ONE TIRE. TIRE IS WORN SMOOTH ON INSIDE PORTION OF THE TREAD. DEALER STATED THAT CORRECTIVE ACTION IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. I CONTEND THAT EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR ON ONE TIRE IS A SAFETY ISSUE. CONDITIONS FOUND SHOULD NOT EXIST ON TIRE THAT HAS ONLY 22K MILES. MY 2008 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID HAS EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR, CUPPING AND TIRE NOISE AT 17000 MILES. TONY HONDA OF HAWAII STATED PROBLEM CAUSED BY IMPROPER AND TIMELY ROTATION OF TIRES AND ALIGNMENT. A ROARING NOISE FROM THE REAR TIRES STARTED WHILE ON A ROAD TRIP. WHEN I GOT HOME, I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. BEFORE I WENT IN, I HAD DONE QUITE A BIT OF RESEARCH ABOUT THIS PROBLEM SO I WAS PRETTY SURE IT WAS THE CONTROL ARM DEFECT THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING. I TOLD THE PEOPLE IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ABOUT SERVICE BULLETIN 08-001 WHICH SAYS THAT 06-07 CIVICS HAVE DEFECTIVE CONTROL ARMS. AS EXPECTED, THEY TOLD ME THAT THE REAR TIRES WERE CUPPED AND THAT I NEEDED AN ALIGNMENT WHICH IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. FIRST OFF, HONDA DOES NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE SERVICE BULLETIN UNLESS YOU PRINT IT OUT AND GIVE IT TO THEM. WHEN THERE WAS AN OPENING IN TRAFFIC I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR MOVED OUT INTO THE TRAFFIC LANES, BUT WITH GREATLY REDUCED ACCELERATION. MY HYBRID HAD LOST THE ELECTRIC MOTOR ASSIST NEEDED TO ACCELERATE NORMALLY. I WAS ALMOST BROADSIDED BY A SPEEDING SUV BECAUSE I COULD NOT ACCELERATE OUT OF THE WAY QUICKLY. 2. THIS LOSS OF ELECTRIC MOTOR ASSIST OR INTEGRATED MOTOR ASSIST (IMA) STARTED OFF HAPPENING ONCE OR TWICE A MONTH. NOW IT IS HAPPENING A COUPLE OF TIMES A WEEK. THERE IS NO AUDIBLE OR VISUAL WARNING LIGHT THAT THIS LOSS HAS OCCURRED. THE ONLY EVIDENCE IS THE LOSS OF ACCELERATION AND THE BATTERY CHARGE LEVEL WILL DROP FROM "NORMAL" (6 OR 7 BARS) TO ONE OR TWO "BARS" ON THE BATTERY CHARGE DISPLAY. THIS UNEXPECTED LOSS OF NORMAL ACCELERATION CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS WHEN MERGING INTO BUSY TRAFFIC. IT IS ONLY AFTER THE DRIVER COMMITS THAT THEY DISCOVER THEY CANNOT ACCELERATE "NORMALLY" 3. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP FIVE TIMES AND OPENED A CASE AT AMERICAN HONDA. THEIR POSITION IS THAT SINCE THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE FAILURE, THEY CAN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. AFTER DOING MY OWN RESEARCH, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS LOSS OF ACCELERATION IS DUE TO A PROGRAMMED FUNCTION IN THEIR IMA SYSTEM. THE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO PERIODICALLY RESET THE STATE OF CHARGE FOR THE BATTERY PACK TO A MINIMAL VALUE TO ELIMINATE ACCUMULATED ERRORS. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE ELECTRIC MOTOR ASSIST IS DISABLED AND THE SYSTEM USES THE ELECTRIC MOTOR TO RECHARGE THE BATTERY PACK. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THIS "RESET" OCCURS AT THE WORST POSSIBLE TIME; WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED AND THE DRIVER NEEDS THE HIGH TORQUE/LOW RPM ELECTRIC MOTOR TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE ACCELERATION. IN MY OPINION, THIS UNANNOUNCED RESET FUNCTION AT A STOP IS A DESIGN FLAW AND MAKES THIS VEHICLE DANGEROUS TO OPERATE. *TR

I HAVE HAD 3 PREVIOUS SUN VISORS REPLACED, WHEN THEY BRAKE THEY SPLIT AND THEN FALL AND HANG IN YOUR VIEWING AREA. THIS TIME (#4) IT WAS THE DRIVERS SIDE. WHEN IT SPLIT (BROKE) THIS TIME IT FELL AND HIT ME IN THE HEAD WHILE I WAS ON THE FREE WAY, CAUSING ME TO SWERVE SLIGHTLY INTO THE NEXT LANE. *TR
MY 2008 HONDA CIVIC, I HAVE TO CHANGE THE VISORS(BOTH DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE) FOR THE THIRD TIME IN LESS THAN 3 YEARS. I HAD TO CHANGE THE VISOR EVERY YEAR AND I HAD ENOUGH OF THIS NONE SENSE. I HAVE TO DRIVE 20 MILES TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND I JUST DON'T LIKE IT. *TR
