TRANSMISSION IS TRYING TO CATCH UP WITH EVERY GEAR CHANGE I MAKE. WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE THE CAR MAKES A SOUND. THE CAR IS STILL STATIONARY. *TR
ON 5/14/2020 IN THE AFTERNOON, I PARKED MY 2015 HONDA CIVIC EX L IN MY DRIVEWAY AND TOOK GROCERIES IN THE HOUSE. I CAME BACK OUT WITHIN A FEW MINUTES AND THERE WAS A FIRE STARTING IN THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE (BATTERY AREA). THE BATTERY WAS INSTALLED LESS THAN 9 MONTHS AGO AT A HONDA DEALERSHIP. I NOW FIND OUT ACCORDS WERE RECALLED FOR BATTERY FIRES, WHY NOT CIVICS ? *TR
The contact owns a 2015 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the airbag warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer where she was informed that the front driver’s side airbag was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
II HAD PULLED OUT OF A PARKING LOT AND WAS PREPARING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. TO ALLOW AN ONCOMING CAR TO PASS, I STOPPED IN THE INTERSECTION. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME WAS FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY, AND HIT MY REAR BUMPER. UPON IMPACT, MY CAR SUDDENLY REVVED AND ACCELERATED TO PERHAPS 20-30 MPH. I PRESSED HARDER ON THE BRAKE, BUT THE ACCELERATION CONTINUED. I QUICKLY APPLIED THE HAND BRAKE, AND MY VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP IN THE DRIVEWAY OF A FACING BUSINESS. FORTUNATELY, NO HUMAN OR PROPERTY DAMAGE OCCURRED. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE HONDA DEALER, WHO THOROUGHLY INSPECTED THE APPLICABLE COMPONENTS; THEY COULD FIND NO PROBLEMS, SO THEY CONTACTED HONDA, WHO SUBSEQUENTLY CAME OUT BUT AGAIN COULD FIND NO PROBLEMS. THE DEALERSHIP SUGGESTED THAT I MIGHT HAVE ERRONEOUSLY APPLIED THE ACCELERATOR INSTEAD OF THE BRAKE, BUT I KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT TRUE. I HAVE MANY YEARS OF EXCELLENT DRIVING EXPERIENCE, AND QUICK REACTION TIME. I AM ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE THAT I WAS APPLYING THE BRAKE, AND THAT MY CAR EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. WITH A SUPPOSED CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH, THIS CAR CONTINUES TO BE MY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION. HOWEVER, I ALWAYS HAVE AN UNDERLYING FEAR THAT THIS UNINTENDED ACCELERATION MIGHT OCCUR AGAIN.
I WAS DRIVING ON I-84 HOME FROM COLLEGE AND THE CAR MADE A LOUD CLICK SOUND, AT WHICH POINT I LOST ALL DRIVE. THE CAR BEGAN DECELERATING AND I WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER TO THE HIGHWAY SHOULDER WHILE CARS AROUND ME WERE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I WAS IN FEAR FOR MY LIFE. THE CAR ENGINE RUNS FINE, BUT DOES NOT MOVE IN ANY GEAR. THE ISSUE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED AS A TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I HAD TO PAY TO GET THE CAR TOWED 80 MILES TO MY HOME, AND NOW MUST ALSO FACE THE COST OF REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION (TOW BILL ATTACHED). MY CAR IS ONLY AT 110K MILES AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN SERVICED AT THE APPROPRIATE TIME. THE TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT BE FAILING, LET ALONE ABRUPTLY WHILE DRIVING. THERE APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN A TRANSMISSION RECALL FOR HONDA FIT AND CIVIC 2014-2015, BUT MY VIN WAS NOT RECALLED. (CAMPAIGN NUMBER 15V574000) THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BY THE NHTSA IMMEDIATELY, AS IT POSES A SERIOUS CONCERN TO DRIVER SAFETY. I HAVE COUNTED OVER 10 REPORTS OF INCIDENTS IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS WHERE OWNERS LOST ALL ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE LISTED THE NHTSA ID NUMBERS BELOW. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND LOST ACCELERATION IN DRIVE POSITION.
AIR CONDITIONER STARTED WORKING PART OF THE TIME. HALF THE TIME WOULD BLOW HOT AND OTHER BLOW COLD. I TOOK TO AN AIR CONDITIONER EXPERT AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED ALL NEW SYSTEM AND THAT HONDA IS KNOWN FOR THIS PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE DONE ALL SERVICES ON TIME. NOW I AM OUT $950.00 TO STAY COOL.
DURING 2019, THE AIRBAG SRS CODE B0001-13 APPEARED. I MADE 2 VISITS TO WALSER HONDA IN BURNVILLE. MN TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. DEC. 2ND I WAS CHARGED $79.26 AND DEC. 16, 2019 $148.51. THEY REPLACED THE REEL CABLE IN THE SYSTEM, BUT IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM OF THE ERROR MESSAGE LISTED ABOVE. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN MARCH 6, 2020 BECAUSE THE SAME WARNING LIGHT IS ON NON-STOP. I WAS TOLD TO REPLACE SRS UNIT FOR $1100. THE DEALERSHIP OFFERED TO PARTICIPATE YET I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $500 DEDUCTIBLE. HONDA'S AUTO TOUCHLINE COMMUNITY NOTES THAT MY CAR ISN'T THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS AIRBAG SENSOR PROBLEM.@MARSHALL SIDDONS "HAVE SEEN QUITE A FEW OF THESE CARS - '12-'14 CIVICS (NOT SURE IF I'VE EVER SEEN A '15 THOUGH)SINCE THE CARS WERE NEW.....THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG SEEMS TO BE THE FIX." MY VEHICLE IS IN GOOD SHAPE WITH 30,000 MILES. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG AND LIKELY A PROBLEM FOR OTHER HONDA CIVIC OWNERS. SHOULDN'T IT BE A FACTORY RECALL? TODAY, I SPOKE TO NATALIE IN AMERICAN HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE COMPANY DECLINES TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR. I REQUEST AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO. PAY FOR THE FULL INSTALLATION OF NEW SRS AIRBAG UNIT AT NO COST TO ME AND REIMBURSE ME FOR $227.77. THIS IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT.
WHILE DRIVING THIS CIVIC AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, IT SUDDENLY STARTED SURGING AND DECELERATING. ALL LIGHTS LIT UP ON THE DASHBOARD AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER. HAD TO CUT OFF TRAFFIC TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THEY CALLED A DAY LATER AND SAID: "THE DRIVE PULLEY SHAFT NO GOOD. NEED NEW TRANSMISSION, WANT TO REPLACE?" I DID SOME RESEARCH AND SAW THE RECALL FOR MANY HONDAS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. IN DISCUSSING THIS WITH THE DEALER, THEY REFUSED TO ASSIST SINCE ITS NOT A RECALL CAR. I GET IT BUT: ITS THE SAME PART! FURTHER, THE CAR IS MANAGED BY A 'MAINTENANCE REMINDER'. IT TELLS YOU WHEN TO CHANGE FLUIDS/PERFORM MAINTENANCE BASED ON DRIVING HABITS. NOT ONCE DID THE TRANSMISSION SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT LIGHT UP. THE DEALER SAID ITS OUR FAULT BECAUSE WE DIDN'T COMPLETE A SERVICE AT 30K INTERVALS. ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. WHO HAS 7K FOR A TRANSMISSION ON A 15K CAR??? *TR
MY 2015 HONDA CIVIC RECENTLY HAD THE TRANSMISSION WARNING COME ON WHEN I WAS DRIVING IT AROUND. TO EVENTUALLY THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE AND I HAD TO TOWED TO A MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DID A DIAGNOSTIC AND REPLACE . TO NOW HAVING THE ISSUE AGAIN.
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING BACK TO UNIVERSITY ON I-10 WHEN SHE LOST POWER. THE CAR WILL START BUT WHEN PUT IN GEAR WILL NOT MOVE. GUESS IS THE TRANSMISSION. WILL TAKE HAVE TOWED TOMORROW TO A MECHANIC. I NOTE THE TRANSMISSION RECALL ON THIS YEAR HONDA CIVIC BUT THIS VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. APPEARS HONDA IS NOT INCLUDING AL IMPACTED VEHICLES. HONDA CIVIC 2015.
TWO OF MY FOUR MICHELIN PILOT SPORT TIRES HAVE BELT SEPARATION. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF IMPACT DAMAGE (BULGED SIDEWALLS) THE TIRES HAVE UNDER 28K MILES, AND THE REMAINING TREAD I ESTIMATE AT 6/32S. BOTH OF THESE TIRES HAVE SPENT MOST OF THEIR LIFE ON THE REAR OF MY 2015 HONDA CIVIC SEDAN. BEING ON THE REAR (TO ME) MEANS NO WEIGHT OF THE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION, NO STEERING FORCE, NO ACCELERATION FORCE, AND UNDER 50% OF BRAKING FORCE. THE FRONT TIRES ARE IN GOOD CONDITION. I NOTICED THE PROBLEM WITH A GRADUAL INCREASE IN NOISE FROM THE REAR, AND I CANNOT PINPOINT THE EXACT START. THE DIAGNOSIS CAME FROM COSTCO TIRE CENTER #0328. THE TECHNICIAN SHOWED ME AND HAD ME TOUCH/FEEL THE DEFECTS WITH MY HANDS. THE DEFECTS ARE IN THE CENTER OF THE TREAD, AND ARE NOT NEAR THE SIDES AT ALL. MY TIRE SIZE IS 215/55R16 I DO NOT HAVE PHOTOS OR FURTHER ATTACHMENTS. I CAN PROVIDE THE SERIAL NUMBERS IF REQUIRED. THE DATE BELOW REPRESENTS THE DIAGNOSIS DATE. THE ZERO SPEED REPRESENTS AT THE TIME OF DIAGNOSIS WHILE THE CAR WAS ON THE LIFT.
ONLY HAVE 58,000 MILES ON MY CIVIC. THE ENGINE IS STALLING OUT AND SOMETIMES NOT MOVING WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS GOING FROM STATIONARY TO IN MOTION. THIS PARTICULARLY HAPPENS WHEN IT SOUNDS LIKE IT'S SHIFTING FROM STOPPED UP TO FIRST GEAR. IT HAS ALSO BEEN GIVING ME VERY LOW GAS MILEAGE.

THE CONTACT GOT OUT THE VEHICLE, PLACED THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL PUSHED THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROADWAY. THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO D'ELLA HONDA 702 STATE ROUTE 3, PLATTSBURGH, NY 12901, (518) 563-7686 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND DETERMINED THAT TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V574000 (POWER TRAIN) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
2/11/20, 7:10AM, AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 12 MILES, MY '15 HONDA CIVIC EX STARTED RUNNING LIKE A TIRE MIGHT BE FLAT. NO WARNING LIGHTS. HEADED TO NEAREST AIR APPROX. 1/2 MILE AWAY. AFTER STOPPING AT TRAFFIC LIGHT STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR BUT CAR WHEN NOWHERE. PUSHED OUT OF TRAFFIC.RESTARTED SEVERAL TIMES. NO CHANGE. THEN EVERY POSSIBLE WARNING LIGHT LIT UP.ATTEMPTED TO PUSH TO NEARBY LOT BUT WHEELS WERE LOCKED. GOOGLED AND DISCOVERED A RECALL STARTED IN OCT '15 (SEE NHTSA 15V-574) ON '15 CIVICS MANUFACTURED 1/16/14-11/6/14 TO PREVENT JUST SUCH A FAILURE. MINE WAS MADE IN 10/14 BUT MY VIN WASN'T INCLUDED.SOUGHT AFTER-WARRANTY CONSIDERATION FROM HONDA.HAD CAR TOWED TO NEAREST DEALER.CODE READER SHOWED P0793 INTERMEDIATE SHAFT SPEED SENSOR 'A' CIRCUIT NO SIGNAL.TECH NOTED DARK TRANSMISSION FLUID COMING OUT FILL HOLE INDICATING IT HAD BECOME HOT. (THIS HAPPENS DURING A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE!). QUOTED $5,500 TO INSTALL REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION. DECLINED. GOOGLED. FOUND NHTSA'S PART 573 SAFETY RECALL REPORT 15V-574. CAR MEETS PRODUCTION DATE CRITERIA. VEHICLE TYPE AND BODY STYLE NOT LISTED INDICATING ALL CIVICS WERE INVOLVED. STUDIED 2 LINES OF US-ASSEMBLED SEQUENTIAL VIN NUMBER RANGES AND BELIEVE ALL '15 CIVIC EX AND EX-L MODELS WERE ACCIDENTALLY LEFT OUT - EXCEPT FOR ONE EX - THE ONLY VEHICLE LISTED IN THE 2ND OF THE 2 RANGES. EXS AND EX-LS WERE INCLUDED IN RECALL OF CANADIAN-ASSEMBLED CIVICS. HONDA SPOKE ONLY WITH THE DIAGNOSING TECHNICIAN AND REFUSES TO HELP ALTHOUGH "CVT INPUT SHAFT SPEED SENSOR" IS COVERED FOR 15YEARS/150K MILES IN CARB-CERTIFIED VEHICLES, WHICH THIS IS. TECH SAID HONDA HAS DIRECTED DEALERS NOT TO REPAIR ENGINES OR TRANSMISSIONS. DON'T EVEN OPEN - JUST REPLACE. HAVE SPOKEN W/ OTHER '15 EX OWNERS WHOSE VEHICLES WERE ALSO NOT RECALLED. NUMEROUS REPORTS ONLINE OF '15 CIVIC OWNERS THAT EXPERIENCED SAME FAILURE AND VIN WASN'T INCLUDED IN RECALL.
CVT TRANSMISSION IS SHOT.
2015 HONDA EX WITH 55,000 MILES WHEN I START THE CAR AND BEGIN TO DRIVE WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES THE RIGHT FRONT OF MY CAR MAKES A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE I HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS IS MY HALF SHAFT MAKING THE NOISE EVERYDAY WHEN I AM PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND THE FIRST TIME I USE MY BRAKES THIS NOISE OCCURS AND AFTER I PARK MY CAR FOR ANY PERIOD OF TIME FIRST TIME I HIT MY BRAKES WHEN LEAVING THE NOISE IS THERE IT GOES AWAY AFTER THAT WHEN I AM DRIVING BUT ALWAYS COMES BACK AFTER BEING PARKED HIT THE BRAKES AND LOUD CLUNKING NOISE ALWAYS IS THERE LOUD ENOUGH FOR ME AND THE PEOPLE IN THE CAR TO CLEARLY HEAR IT
I WENT OUT TO MOVE MY CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY THIS MORNING AND WAS SHOCKED THAT MY POWER STEERING HAD SUDDENLY FAILED OUT OF NOWHERE WHILE BACKING UP. THE CAR WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO MANEUVER IN THE DRIVEWAY (CERTAINLY CAN'T DRIVE IT ANYWHERE), AND THE POWER STEERING WARNING APPEARED ON THE DASH. 20 MINUTES LATER, IT WAS BACK TO NORMAL, BUT NOW I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT.
I RECENTLY BOUGHT A USED 2015 HONDA CIVIC, WHICH NOW HAS 109,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING WELL UNTIL RECENTLY MY ACCELERATION IS WHEN TURNING CORNERS IS VERY LOW AND THE TIRES STOP MOVING, I LOOKED UP SIMILAR ISSUES ONLINE AND SAW A RECALL NOTICE ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION, THE ISSUE CAN CAUSE THE TIRES TO STALL AND CAN BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. MY VEHICLE IS HAVING THIS EXACT ISSUE AND I FEEL THIS ISNT COINCIDENCE. HONDA NEEDS TO MAKE SURE THAT THESE VEHICLES ARE FIXED. I DRIVE TO WORK EVERY DAY AND I FEEL THAT MY VEHICLE WILL STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC.
MY SON JUST RETURNED BACK TO COLLEGE .. .. SO GRATEFUL IT DIDN'T HAPPEN THEN.. BUT THE NEXT DAY HE WAS DRIVING TO THE GROCERY STORE .. CAME TO A STOP AT A RED LIGHT.. DIDN'T DRIVE 10 FT WHEN THE CAR LOST ACCELLERATION AND FRONT WHEELS LOCKED UP....SO HE TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND PROCEEDED TO PUT IT IN DRIVE WHEN IT STARTED TO GO IN REVERSE ON ITS OWN SO HE TURNED OFF THE CAR AND CALLED FOR A TOW. THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE SINCE I PURCHASED IT IN FEB /2015. THIS HAS BEEN A DEPENDABLE CAR UP UNTIL THIS POINT. I BELIEVE THIS CAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE 2014/2015 RECALL BUT WASN'T FOR WHATEVER REASON. IT CLEARLY IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS THE RECALL IS CLAIMING. I AM SO GRATEFUL THIS DID NOT CAUSE MY SON TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT... SO FAR FROM HOME.
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH, MY CAR MADE A NOISE ALMOST LIKE A FLAPPING SOUND AND SUDDENLY LOSES POWER. GOT TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND TOWED CAR TO SERVICE STATION. THE CAR STARTED AND RAN - THE CAR WENT INTO DRIVE, REVERSE AND PARK BUT WOULD NOT MOVE AT ALL. STILL NO WARNING LIGHTS. THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WERE NO INDICATIONS SUCH AS LEAKAGE, LIGHTS OR SLIPPING OF TRANSMISSION. JUST COMPLETEL MALFUNCTION ON A HIGHWAY 200 MILES FROM HOME. HAD THE EXPENSE OF TRANSMISSION, CAR RENTAL AND HOTEL. YOU BUY A HONDA FOR RELIABILITY AND NEVER THINK THIS WOULD HAPPEN
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON I-77 AND WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, THE VEHICLE STOPPED ACCELERATING. I WOULD PUSH ON THE GAS AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLOW. I COULD HAVE GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT BUT PULLED OFF ONTO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR WAS RUNNING BUT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO TOW THE VEHICLE. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP WHO ASSESSED THE CAR SAID THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. THERE IS ONLY 100,364 MILES ON THE CAR AND THE TRANSMISSION SHOULD JUST STOP WORKING. THERE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM (RECALL) WITH THE 2015 HONDA CIVIC BUT MY VIN ISNT INCLUDED. HONDA KNOWS THEY NEED TO EXTENDED OR OPEN RECALL TO INCLUDE MORE VINS. THIS IS HONDAS MESS UP BUY PUTTING IN A FAULTY TRANSMISSION.
VEHICLE STALL DAILY AFTER A STOP. I RETURNED IT TO THE HONDA DEALER WHO TOLD ME , "THAT WAS NORMAL!" I UNDERSTAND THE 2016 THRU 2019 MODELS WERE RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT MY 2015 STALLS DAILY WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP! WHAT DO I DO NEXT???

MY VEHICLE WAS SHOWING NO OBVIOUS SIGNS OF ISSUES WHEN PURCHASED AT ABOUT 28,000 MILES 11/1/18 UPON MY FIRST OIL CHANGE AT 39,000 MILES IT WAS NOTED THAT THOUGH TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS AT SAFE LEVELS THERE APPEARED TO BE A LEAK AS CONDENSATION WAS NOTICED BY THE THIRD PARTY OIL SERVICE TECHNICIAN. I WAS TOLD TO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR ANY ISSUES. I DROVE MY VEHICLE WITH NO OBVIOUS ISSUES OF DRIVEWAY LEAKS OR SERVICE LIGHTS ON THE VEHICLE INDICATING A TRANSMISSION ISSUE IT ALSO SEEMED TO DRIVE NORMALLY. AT 43,900MILES WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON INDICATING A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM THE DRIVE LIGHT WAS BLINKING AND MY CAR WAS MAKING A NOISE I NEVER HEARD BEFORE. I WAS NOT ABLE TO MAKE IT TO MY DESTINATION AS MY CAR JUST STOPED ACCELERATING AS I WAS TRYING TO PULL OVER ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS ALL HAPPENED PRETTY QUICKLY AS THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING SHORTLY AFTER THE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FROM WHICH I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THE TRANSMISSION WAS BURNED DUE TO NEGLIGENCE BY THE THIRD PARTY OIL TECHNICIAN REMOVING THE CAP FROM MY VEHICLE AND NOT PUTTING IT BACK. I CAN SAY THAT THE CAP WAS NOT REMOVED AS I WAS IN THE CAR WHILE IT WAS BEING SERVICED FOR AN OIL CHANGE ONLY. THE THIRD PARTY COMPANY HAS EXPLAINED THAT THEY ALSO WOULD NOT HAVE REMOVED THE CAP AS TRANSMISSION LEVELS A DIGITALLY CHECKED FOR MY VEHICLE MAKE AND MODEL. ALSO THIS INCIDENT WAS 8 MONTHS AFTER THEY LAST SERVICED MY VEHICLE. THERE IS NO OUTSIDE DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION. IT IS UNKNOWN HOW THE CAP WAS REMOVED FOUND UNHINGED BY THE DEALERSHIP. BELOW ARE PHOTOS PROVIDED BY THE DEALERSHIP.
THE DRIVER DOOR ACTUATOR TO UNLOCK THE DOOR IS NOT WORKING AND THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR IS NOT WORKING. I HAD THE BACK LEFT ACTUATOR REPLACED BEFORE. I THINK IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO RECALLED.
MY CAR WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT LAST NIGHT AFTER BEING STOPPED ON THE FREEWAY. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY I NOTICED MY CAR DRIVING STRANGE( SOUNDING AND FEELING LIKE IT WAS IN THE WRONG GEAR) MOMENTS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND 2 WARNINGS IN THE DASHBOARD ABOUT MY ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS. MY CAR BEGIN TO DECELERATE, COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY AND BEING HIT IN THE REAR BY ANOTHER DRIVER. I FOUND THIS VERY STRANGE AND DANGEROUS DUE TO MY CAR BEING A 2015 AND PROPERLY MAINTAINED. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED.
IT WAS RAINING, I WENT TO SLOW DOWN AND IT WAS AS IF THE FRONT WHEELS LOCKED UP, TCS BLINKING ON AND OFF, AND THE TIRES REMAINED PULLING AS IF POWER WAS STILL BEING SENT TO THE FRONT TWO, LOCKED UP, TIRES AND I HAD NO CONTROL AS THE CAR PULLED ME STRAIGHT FORWARD INTO THE SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE RESULTING IN A COLLISION THAT HAD ME HIT A STOPPED CAR SO HARD IT SPUN THE OTHER CAR AROUND AND TOTALED MY CAR. THIS ALL HAPPENED WITHIN 500 FEET OF WHERE I INITIALLY PULLED OUT ONTO THE ROAD I WAS TRAVELING ON WHEN THE CAR STARTED TO MALFUNCTION TO THE ROAD WHERE I ATTEMPTED TO TURN ONTO TO AVOID THE CRASH AND COULD NOT MANEUVER THE VEHICLE AT ALL.
I WAS DRIVING HOME ON I-80 AND WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, THE VEHICLE STOPPED ACCELERATING. I WOULD PUSH ON THE GAS AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. RPMS WOULD GO TO 4000. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLOW. I COULD HAVE GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT BUT PULLED OFF ONTO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR WAS RUNNING BUT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO TOW THE VEHICLE. THE AUTO SHOP WHO ASSESSED THE CAR SAID THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. THERE IS ONLY 158,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND THE TRANSMISSION SHOULD JUST STOP WORKING. THE SHOP SAID IT WOULD BE $5100 TO REPLACE.
THE INTERNAL SHAFT OF THE TRANSMISSION FAILED ON MY 2015 HONDA CIVIC WHICH WAS UNDER RECALL FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE AT 61K MILES ON A ROAD TRIP, THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY WHEN WE LEFT FOR A ROAD TRIP, ON OUR WAY BACK HOME THIS HAPPENED. ONCE I GOT IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC THEY TOLD ME MY TRANSMISSION PRETTY MUCH BLEW OUT AND I HAD TO REPLACE IT. BEFORE THIS INCIDENT I HAD A PREVIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING. ANYWAYS I GOT A NEW TRANSMISSION AND SHORTLY AFTER (NOVEMBER 2019) I COULD FEEL MY CAR JOLTING IF I CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP OR EVEN ACCELERATED. WHEN I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SHOP THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION BINDING. THEY HAD TO REPLACE IT ONCE AGAIN. NOW THE CAR FEELS SOMEWHAT BETTER, BUT STILL JERKS WITH SOME STOPS. I'VE LOOKED UP MY VIN FOR RECALLS AND NOTHING HAS COME UP, BUT THIS IS MY 3RD ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW AND USED IT FOR DAILY COMMUTES. ALL THIS STARTED HAPPENING AROUND 97,000-100,000 MILES ON THE CAR. I HAVE KEPT UP WITH MAINTENANCE SO I'M UNSURE WHY THIS IS HAPPENING.

I DROVE IT WITH NO PROBLEMS OTHER THEN CHECK TRANSMISSION & EMISSION SENSOR ON DASH SCREEN TO SHOP WHEN I GOT THERE IT WAS ROUGH TO PUT IN PARK & COULD HEAR IT SWITCH BETWEEN GEARS WHEN MOVING STICK TO PUT IN PARK WHICH COULD NEVER HEAR BEFORE. AFTER DIAGNOSIS THEY'RE SAYING IT NEEDS NEW TRANSMISSION DUE TO INTERNAL DAMAGE INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THIS YEAR, MAKE & MODEL HAS RECALLS FOR THE EXACT ISSUES GOING ON WITH MY CAR. AS I SHOULD NOT HAVE TRAMISSION FAILURE AT 50000 MILES IN A CAR THAT I MAINTAINANCED PROPERLY & DROVE PRETTY MUCH ONLY AROUND MY SMALL TOWN.

MY CAR HAS 92,000 MILES AND IS MY DAILY COMMUTER. I HAVE SERVICED THE TRANSMISSION TWICE AND IT WAS DUE FOR THE THIRD OIL CHANGE SOON. I AM AN ASE CERTIFIED MASTER MECHANIC AND PERFORM MY OWN SERVICES. THE OIL FOR TRANNY SERVICE WAS PURCHASED BOTH TIMES FROM YUBA CITY HONDA. I HAVE HAD NO PREVIOUS ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE. HIGHWAY MILES ARE KNOWN TO BE EASIEST ON A WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLE. I AM SHOCKED THAT THIS HAPPENED WITH NO FOREWARNING.

WITHIN THIS COMPLAINT, I WILL ATTACH PICTURES FROM THE CRASH AND IT SHOWS HOW THE AIRBAGS DID NOT COME OUT.

SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS SHARED SAME ISSUE ON THE HONDA FORUM AND SHARED SEVERAL POSSIBLE CAUSES. ONE OF WHICH WAS SMALL CRACKS IN THE SODER WITHIN THE MODULE.
