There are 3 owner-reported speed control & cruise complaints for the 2024 Honda CR-V Hybridin NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
On [XXX], my 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid experienced a sudden loss of acceleration while driving on the highway, creating a dangerous situation where I was unable to merge or maintain speed. This put me at immediate risk of an accident as other vehicles were traveling at normal highway speeds. This issue arose less than 136 miles after my vehicle underwent recall repairs on [XXX] at Superstition Springs Honda in Mesa, Arizona. The recall repairs included: •Fuel Pump Safety Recall (NHTSA Recall 24-049) •CVT Greasing Recall (NHTSA Recall 24-123) After the recall repair, my vehicle displayed a dashboard warning on [XXX] stating: “Emission System Problem. Power may be reduced. See your dealer.” Following this warning, the vehicle failed to accelerate properly despite pressing the gas pedal, making highway driving unsafe. I took my vehicle back to the dealership immediately. The dealership categorized this as an emissions system failure but has not confirmed if it is related to the recall repairs. The dealership also stated that I would need to drive 500 miles after any repair to “confirm” the issue is resolved, which is unreasonable and unsafe given the circumstances. This is a serious safety defect. A sudden loss of acceleration on the highway creates a high risk of collisions, injuries, or fatalities. Other 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid owners have reported similar emission system failures after recall repairs, suggesting this may be a widespread issue. This issue is now under review by Honda Corporate (Case #[XXX]), but I have not received a clear resolution or assurance that my vehicle will be permanently fixed. I request that NHTSA investigate whether Honda’s recall repairs are causing secondary defects leading to acceleration failures. This defect poses a significant safety risk and requires immediate attention. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Hybrid CR_V when at a stop, the vehicle has started acerating on its own when I remove foot from brake. Iin the 4 months, it has started moving slowly on its own when brake released, and I haven't touched gas pedal yet 2 time it started acerating faster and faster until brake was applied. took it to dealer, they cannot duplicate and weren't very helpful in trying it figure it yet. Vehicle has brake hold feature and shouldn't move forward till gas is applied.
When my car is in cruise control it sometimes applies the brake when the car in front of me is taking an off ramp. Even when car is out of my lane the car might aggressively apply the brakes. Sometimes applies the brakes because a car in front of me changes lanes. It only does it if they go to a lane that is right of my car. I do not tailgate so I feel that this is dangerous as I drive on I-95 and the speed limit is 70 mph. This is a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport. Honda must correct this.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
