TAKATA RECALL, I BROUGHT MY CAR IN AND HAD THE DRIVERS AIR BAG REPLACED BUT I AM NOW VERY CONCERNED REGARDING THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WHICH I KNOW IS ALSO DEFECTIVE AND PRESENTS A GRAVE DANGER TO MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. TAKATA RECALL. I CONTACTED A DEALER, MATT CASTRUCCI HONDA OF DAYTON, ON JULY 6, 2016, TO SCHEDULE REPLACEMENT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG PURSUANT TO THE RECALL NOTICE I RECEIVED IN JUNE OF THIS YEAR. THE DEALER REPORTS THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER AND THEY'LL CALL US WHEN IT'S DELIVERED. AS OF DECEMBER 5, 2016, WE HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED BY THE DEALER. I CALLED HONDA HQ AND DID NOT GET A SATISFACTORY RESPONSE.
TAKATA RECALL - WE RECEIVED WRITTEN NOTICE OF THE AIRBAG RECALL IN JUNE 2016 FOR OUR 2005 HONDA CRV, AND CALLED OUR LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP, AUTONATION HONDA AT 2999 W 104TH AVE, WESTMINSTER, CO 80234 TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE REPAIR ON JULY 7, 2016. WE WERE TOLD BY THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT THEY WOULD ORDER THE PART, WHICH SHOULD ARRIVE WITHIN A WEEK. THEY DID NOT CALL BACK BY THE END OF JULY, SO WE CALLED BACK TO ASK ABOUT THE PART. WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY HAD NO RECORD OF EVER ORDERING THE PART, BUT SAID THAT THEY WOULD DO SO IMMEDIATELY AND EXPECTED THE PART TO ARRIVE IN THE NEXT 4 WEEKS. WE AGAIN WAITED FOR NOTIFICATION THAT THE PART ARRIVED, BUT RECEIVED NO CALL. WE CONTACTED THEM TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE REPAIR IN AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER, BUT WERE TOLD THE SAME THING: THAT THEY HAD NOT ORDERED THE PART AND COULD NOT COMPLETE THE REPAIR, BUT THAT THEY WOULD BE SURE TO CONTACT US AS SOON AS THE PART CAME IN, AS THEY WOULD ORDER ONE IMMEDIATELY. IN THE END OF SEPTEMBER, WHILE SHOPPING FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE AT AUTONATION HONDA, THE SALESPERSON TOLD US THAT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD PERFORM THE RECALL WORK WHILE WE TEST-DROVE AND CONSIDERED OTHER VEHICLES. HOWEVER, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT DID NOT COMPLETE THE RECALL WORK, AND THIS WAS MERELY A RUSE TO ALLOW AUTONATION TO HOLD OUR VEHICLE HOSTAGE WHILE THE SALES STAFF GAVE US THE RUN AROUND ON HAGGLING OVER ANOTHER CAR. WE LEFT THAT DAY WITHOUT BUYING A CAR AND WITHOUT GETTING OUR CRV REPAIRED. ON DECEMBER 24, 2016, WE MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE RECALL WORK DONE ON THE MORNING OF DECEMBER 30, AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE AND THAT THEY COULD COMPLETE THE REPAIR. WITHIN MINUTES OF DROPPING THE CAR OFF ON THE 30TH, I RECEIVED A CALL THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART AND AGAIN HAD NOT ORDERED IT. THEY SAID THEY WOULD WORK ON ORDERING IT IN THE COMING WEEK.

CALLED DEALERSHIP AND HONDA USA AND TOLD THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART ISN'T EVEN BEING MANUFACTURED YET AND WON'T BE AVAILABLE UNTIL FALL. HONDA COULDN'T EVEN GIVE ME A DEFINITIVE MONTH. THIS GOES BEYOND 60 DAYS. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

TAKATA INFLATOR - I HAVE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TWICE WITH WILLIAMSBURG HONDA TO HAVE MY AIRBAG DEFECT REPAIRED. THE FIRST APPOINTMENT WAS 8/2/16, THE SECOND 8/16/16, BOTH WERE CANCELLED BY HONDA DUE TO THEM NOT HAVING THE PARTS. I NEED THIS REPAIRED ASAP. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I TRANSPORT MY GRANDCHILDREN IN MY CAR. THE NHTSA RECALL NUMBER IS 16V-344, DATED JUNE 2016. IT IS NOW NOVEMBER 2016.

HONDA OF MENTOR KEEPS TELLING OWNER THAT PART IS NOT AVAILABLE AND THEY WILL CALL OWNER WHEN PART BECOMES AVAILABLE. HONDA OF MENTOR ALSO ACKNOWLEDGES THAT AIRBAG SITUATION IS A POTENTIAL DANGER TO DRIVER AS WELL AS PASSENGER(S). OWNER FREQUENTLY DRIVES OWNER'S GRANDCHILD IN CAR AND HAS INDICATED NECESSITY OF GETTING RECALL HANDLED QUICKLY.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS, BOTH DRIVER & PASSENGER, CONTINUE TO GO OUT DESPITE CHANGING BULBS THREE TIMES NOW. THE BRIGHT LIGHTS CONTINUE TO WORK. THEY HAVE GONE OUT AS WE WERE DRIVING AND IN THE DRIVEWAY AFTER STARTING THE CAR.

TAKATA RECALL THIS CAR IS UNDER RECALL ACCORDING TO NHTSA'S DECEMBER 2016 THIRD AMENDED COORDINATED REMEDY ORDER. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE RECALL IS NOT SHOWING UP UNDER A VIN SEARCH FOR THE CAR. HONDA HAS CONFIRMED THAT THIS VIN IS AFFECTED BY THE TAKATA RECALL, BUT IT CANNOT SEND OUT A RECALL NOTICE UNTIL NHTSA ACKNOWLEDGES THE BATCH OF AFFECTED VINS THAT HONDA CONFIRMS IT SENT IT TO NHTSA ON OR AROUND JANUARY 10, 2017 (HOWEVER PURSUANT TO THE ABOVE REFERENCED COORDINATED REMEDY ORDER, THIS VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN UNDER RECALL NO LATER THAN JUNE, 2016). I CANNOT GET A DEALERSHIP TO PERFORM THE REQUIRED REPAIR UNTIL HONDA SENDS OUT THE RECALL NOTICE. THAT WON'T HAPPEN UNTIL NHTSA ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THE VIN, PER HONDA, IS AFFECTED BY THE RECALL. HONDA FORWARDED ALL THE NECESSARY INFORMATION TO NHTSA WEEKS AGO. PLEASE PROVIDE EXPLANATIONS FOR THESE DELAYS (SPECIFICALLY AS TO WHY THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL UNDER THE TIMELINE MANDATED BY NHTSA, AND WHY NHTSA HAS NOT YET ACKNOWLEDGED THE VINS FROM HONDA EVEN SINCE JANUARY 10, 2017). MORE PRESSING, HOWEVER, IS THE NEED TO GET THIS VEHICLE REPAIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. IT IS IN THE HIGHEST PRIORITY GROUP ACCORDING TO NHTSA'S COORDINATED REMEDY ORDER. PLEASE PROVIDE ASSISTANCE IN GETTING THE NECESSARY AIRBAG REPLACEMENT PERFORMED ON THIS VEHICLE RIGHT AWAY. THANK YOU. THE HALOGEN BULBS IN MY HEADLIGHTS FREQUENTLY BURN OUT. THEY ALWAYS HAVE, BUT I DIDN'T KNOW SO MANY OTHER OWNERS WERE DEALING WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS DANGEROUS. I JUST LEARNED THAT HONDA ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS VERY SAME PROBLEM FOR YEARS 2002-2004. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE ON RECORD FOR 2005. HONDA NEEDS TO INCLUDE THE 2005 MODEL FOR THIS RECALL AND CORRECT THIS DEFECT. WHY AREN'T THEY RESPONDING TO THIS ISSUE?
AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR LOCKING UP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS SIX TIMES WITHIN FOUR MONTHS. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 94,700.
THIS HONDA CR-V 2015 AS FAR AS I KNOW WAS TOTAL IN APRIL 2016. I DID REPORT THIS INFORMATION TO HONDA.

I HAVE REPLACED SEVERAL LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHT BULBS OVER THE PAST 5 YEARS (LESS THAN 60K MILES). THOUGHT IT WAS POOR QUALITY BULBS BUT THIS TIME BOTH NEW BULBS (1- MONTH OLD) WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. COULD HAVE BEEN A DISASTER LUCKILY HIGH BEAMS WORKED. READING SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AND RECALLS, IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE A BULB ISSUE BUT RATHER A NECESSITY FOR A WIRING SWITCH/HARNESS RECALL. PREVIOUS YEARS HAD THE RECALL AND IT LOOKS LIKE THE RECALL NEEDS TO EXPAND IN MODEL YEARS

THE HEADLIGHTS KEEP BURNING OUT EVERY 3-6 MONTHS, THIS CAN'T BE NORMAL. I KEEP READING COMPLAINTS ONLINE FROM OTHERS EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME THING BUT HONDA IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY. BESIDES BEING COSTLY, TIME-CONSUMING AND ANNOYING, IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND IT IS ILLEGAL, YOU CAN GET A TICKET FOR DRIVING WITH A BURNT LIGHT. IN ADDITION THE LIGHT ON MY DASHBOARD HAS GONE OUT, AND THE 2 REAR DOORS ELECTRICAL LOCKS DO NOT WORK.
SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE TWO YEARS AGO, THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED 6 TIMES. BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES FAIL. IT HAS BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE AS I AM OFTEN CAUGHT IN THE DARK WITHOUT PROPER LIGHTING. EACH TIME THE BULBS WERE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. LAST BULB FAILED 1/8/2016.
POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKAGE FROM POWER STEERING HOSE. I NOTICED THERE WERE RECALL FOR HONDA ACORD BUT NOT FOR CR-V. I READ ALL REVIEWS AND SEEMS IS RISKY AND COULD CATCH FIRE.

THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG WAS REPLACED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V32000 (AIR BAGS). THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 205,000.

MY HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN FAILING SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE 3 YEARS AGO. I'VE XHANGED A MULTITUDE OF LIGHTS, HAD THE COMBINATION SWITCH CLEANED 3 TIMES AND FINALLY PUT IN A NEW SWITCH, ALL WITH NO RESULTS. SO I FOUND A RECALL EA11012 AND HONDA SAYS IT'S NOT FOR MY VIN NUMBER. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR CRV'S. IT HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING AND IS A SAFETY AND FIRE ISSUE.
THE LOCKING MECHANISM FOR THE TILT STEERING WHEEL NOT STAY IN A LOCKED POSITION. MINE WILL NOT LONGER STAY IN THE LOCK POSITION AT ALL. IT REMAINS IN THE DROPPED DOWN UNLOCKED POSITION CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO MOVE UP AND DOWN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. IT IS ALSO A HAZARD WHEN GETTING OUT OF THE CAR AS YOU CAN CATCH YOUR LEG WITH IT AND POSSIBLE INJURE YOUR LEG.
I TOOK MY CAR TO GET SERVICED AND TO HAVE THE AIRBAGS REPLACED FOLLOWING THE RECALL. I WAS TOLD THAT THE AIRBAGS WERE REPLACED, BUT THEY WERE NEVER IN FACT REPLACED. THE AIRBAG LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON AND I AM CONTINUING TO RECEIVE NOTICES FROM HONDA THAT MY AIRBAGS HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED. I WOULD APPRECIATE TO HAVE A TRUTHFUL ANSWER AND TO HAVE THIS SITUATION FIXED!
WHILE DRIVING ACROSS COUNTRY FROM ARKANSAS TO WASHINGTON WITH MY 22 YEAR OLD SON IN HIS VEHICLE HIS HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT ON VERY DARK, CURVY ROADS WHILE HE WAS DRIVING. WE WERE OUT IN AN AREA WITH NO RESOURCES. WE WERE ABLE TO USE HIS HIGH BEAMS FORTUNATELY UNTIL WE COULD GET TO A SAFE LOCATION. SINCE THEN THE LIGHT BULBS FAIL FREQUENTLY APPROXIMATELY 2-3 MONTHS FOR NO APPARENT REASON. USUALLY ONE LIGHT AT A TIME, CONSTANTLY REPLACING BULBS. THIS A VERY WELL DOCUMENTED PROBLEM. AND [OBVIOUSLY] A POOR DESIGN ISSUE. THERE IS CURRENTLY AN OUTSTANDING RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM FOR MODEL YEARS 2002-2004 (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V136000). FROM MY RESEARCH, THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE AT LEAST AS PREVALENT (IF NOT MORE SO) IN THE 2005 AND 2006 MODEL YEARS. PLEASE EXPAND THE RECALL TO INCLUDE THOSE MODEL YEARS AND FORCE HONDA TO OWN UP TO WHAT APPEARS TO BE A POOR DESIGN ISSUE. THIS IS A [MAJOR] SAFETY ISSUE AND AN ONGOING PROBLEM.
2005 HONDA CR-V. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO REPLACEMENT PARTS NOT AVAILABLE TO COMPLETE AIRBAG RECALL NOTICE. *SMD
WHILE ON A ROAD TRIP DRIVING HOME ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, THE A/C COMPRESSOR WENT OUT. AFTER A FEW MILES WARNING LIGHTS WENT OFF AND THE ENGINE TEMPERATURE SHOT UP AND IT STARTED OVERHEATING. WE GOT OFF OF THE HIGHWAY AS FAST AS WE COULD. WHEN WE PULLED OVER, MY HUSBAND OPENED THE HOOD AND INTENSE STEAM BLEW OUT FROM THE RADIATOR AREA. TURNED OUT THAT, UNBEKNOWNST TO US, THE COMPRESSOR SEIZED UP AND CAUSED THE SERPENTINE BELT TO BREAK, WHICH DISABLED THE WATER PUMP. IT RUINED THE DAMAGED THE RADIATOR AND WARPED THE HEAD GASKET. WE WERE 2 1/2 HOURS FROM HOME! ONCE WERE ABLE TO GET IT REPAIRED AND HOME, WE TOOK IT IN TO THE MECHANIC SO HE COULD LOOK AT THE A/C. METAL SHARDS WERE IN THE CONDENSER AND IT EVENTUALLY GOT INTO THE LINE AND INTO THE COMPRESSOR. ANOTHER A/C ISSUE HAS BEEN THE CONDENSER FAN. IT HAS TO BE REPLACED EVERY 3-4 YEARS. IT WAS REPLACED 3 YEARS AGO. IT IS OUT AGAIN.
