COMPLAINT IS THAT OWNER OF VEHICLE (THE ORIGINAL BUYER) HAS STILL NOT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE ON-GOING PROBLEMATIC TAKATA AIRBAGS. THE RECALL NOTICE HAS NOW BEEN EXPANDED TO ALL 2006 HONDA CRV'S, NOT JUST LOCATION SPECIFIC VEHICLES. I HAVE CONTACTED HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED AN OFFICIAL RECALL FOR AIRBAGS. ALARMING AND FRUSTRATING, CONSIDERING PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAIMED, PARALYZED, AND KILLED BY THESE VERY HONDA-INSTALLED TAKATA AIRBAGS. THEY SAY THEY ARE BEING "PRO-ACTIVE" WHICH IS AT BEST A JOKE. THEY NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS AND REPLACE THEM IN ALL HONDA VEHICLES WITH TAKATA AIRBAGS. HONDA AND TAKATA BOTH SUCK FOR NOT DOING THE RIGHT THING! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE HEADLIGHTS FLICKERED AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED DAILY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE HEADLIGHT BULBS WERE REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 180,000.
TAKATA RECALL RECALLED TWICE FOR AIRBAG REPLACEMENT, BUT I'M UNABLE TO OBTAIN INFORMATION RE ALL THE OTHER AIRBAG INFLATOR IN THE CAR. I'M REQUESTING INVESTIGATION ANDPROOF OF SAFETY OF INFLATION ENCLOSURES FOR THE SIDE AIRBAGS. PLEASE RAISE THE ISSUE AS THESE ARE IN SIMILAR CLOSE PROXIMITY TO PASSENGERS. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN GOING THROUGH HEADLIGHTS LIKE CRAZY FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS. APPROX. EVERY TWO MONTHS EITHER THE RIGHT OR LEFT SIDE GOES WITHOUT WARNING. MOST RECENTLY I DECIDED TO INSTALL HIGHER END BULBS THINKING THAT MAYBE THE LITTLE 8.00 DOLLAR ONES WERE THE PROBLEM. WRONG! I PUT A SET OF 50.00 BULBS IN EACH SIDE AT THE SAME TIME AND LESS THAN A MONTH LATER THE DRIVERS SIDE WENT OUT! I DRIVE ON VERY DARK RURAL ROADS AT NIGHT COMING HOME FROM WORK AND IF BOTH OF THESE LIGHTS FAIL AT THE SAME TIME I COULD BE SERIOUSLY HURT. *TR
AFTER THE HEADLIGHT BULB HAS BEEN REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES, THE RIGHT (PASSENGER SIDE) LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT NO LONGER LIGHTS. THE BULB HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH NEW, THE OLD BULB IS COMPLETELY INTACT (FILAMENT AS WELL AS GLASS- NO BURNED MARKS AT ALL), AND THE FUSES ARE NOT BLOWN. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE, AND IN FACT HONDA HAS RECALLED 550,000 PREVIOUS PILOT AND CR-V MODELS FOR THIS FAILURE. SEEMS THE WIRING HARNESS IS TOO SHORT, AND DISCONNECTS THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. THIS IS A CLEAR SAFETY ISSUE, AND IS NOT DUE TO OWNER ERROR. THANK YOU. *TR
HI, I AM FILING A COMPLAINT AGAINST HONDA MOTOR CORPORATION ON NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V-351. I LIVING IN LONG ISLAND NEW YORK. I LIVE ON A ISLAND SURROUNDED BY WATER AND IN HIGH HUMID CONDITIONS. IN THE SUMMER HIGH HUMID CONDITIONS EXIST IN ABOUT 4 MONTHS A YEAR HERE ON LONG ISLAND. BUT BECAUSE HONDA DOES NOT LIST MY LOCATION AS PART OF THE RECALL CAMPAIGN I AM NOT ENTITLED TO THE TAKATA AIR BAG REPLACEMENT. WHEN I CONTACT HONDA THEY CANNOT CONFIRM IF MY VEHICLE EVEN CONTAINS ONE OF THESE AFFECTED AIR BAGS BUT JUST THAT I AM NOT PART OF THE RECALL CAMPAIGN BECAUSE OF MY LOCATION. I THINK THIS UNFAIR THAT NHTSA IS EVEN ALLOWING HONDA TO MAKE THAT DECISION AND IS PUTTING MY FAMILY AT RISK IN ONE OF THESE VEHICLES. I RECEIVED FROM HONDA A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE TO HAVE MY FRONT AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACED AT NO CHARGE. I TOOK IT TO AUTO NATION HONDA MIAMI LAKES 5925 NW 167 ST MIAMI, FL 33015. MY CAR WAS THERE FOR 6 HOURS, WHEN I PICKED IT UP THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WEREN'T AUTHORIZED TO PERFORM THE RECALL BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE ORIGINAL PART. I'M SENDING THIS INFORMATION TO LET YOU KNOW IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENS. I CAN'T WASTE MY TIME MISSING WORK TO HAVE THIS FIXED WHEN THE DEALER DOESN'T EVEN HAVE THE ORIGINAL PART. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE EMITTED SMOKE AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN UNKNOWN RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE, BUT IT DID NOT REMEDY THE FAILURE. WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED WHIPLASH, HEAD, AND BACK PAINS, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP AND AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER'S INVESTIGATOR DETERMINED THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT HAVE A FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISING ON THE CHEST AND MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V351000 (AIR BAGS). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
I HAVE TWO OF THESE 2006 HONDA CR-V THE ONE THAT I PURCHASED AND REGISTERED IN FLORIDA WAS RECALLED AND REPAIRED BY THE CROWN HONDA CO. PINELLAS PARK, FL HOWEVER,THE ONE THAT I PURCHASED AND REGISTERED IN MICHIGAN; AND IS NOW USED IN FLORIDA NINE MONTHS OUT OF THE YEAR WAS NOT RECALLED AND THEY COULD NOT SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO MAKE THE REPAIR. THE RECALL OF JUST THOSE VEHICLES REGISTERED IN HOT AND HUMID STATES IS LUDICROUS. IT IS USUALLY JUST AS HOT AND HUMID IN MICH. DURING JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST. THERE ARE ALSO MILLIONS OF "SNOWBIRDS" WITH TANACKA AIRBAGS IN FLORIDA 75-80% OF THE YEAR. THEY NEED TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES. I DONT WANT TO DRIVE IT IN FLORIDA UNTIL IT IS REPAIRED. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE PRESSURE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT MERGED THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND EXITED HER CHILDREN FROM THE VEHICLE. SUDDENLY, THE CARGO AREA OF THE VEHICLE ENGULFED IN FLAMES. A POLICE AND FIRE REPORT WERE FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO FAULTY WIRING IN THE PASSENGER SIDE PANEL. IT WAS NOT YET DETERMINED IF THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.

DRIVERS SIDE VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP, DROPPING DOWN TO BLOCK VISIBILITY. *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2006 CRV IN 2010. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT MULTIPLE TIMES. I DO NOT HAVE EXACT DATES, NOT REALIZING THERE WAS A PROBLEM UNTIL JULY 2014 WHEN I HAD MY MECHANIC DO A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND FOUND THERE TO BE A SHORT IN THE WIRING IN THE STEERING COLUMN. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS, I FOUND THAT ALMOST ONE MILLION CRV'S HAVE BEEN RECALLED SINCE 2002 FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I SPOKE TO HONDA'S CUSTOMER SERVICE/RESOLUTION CENTER AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE SPECIFICALLY ALTHOUGH THE PROBLEM IS THE EXACT SAME ONE ALL OF THE RECALLED CRV'S HAVE. HONDA WOULD NOT ASSIST ME FURTHER AND TOLD ME THAT I NEED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM OUT OF POCKET. I HAVE ALREADY HAD BOTH HEADLIGHTS GO OUT SIMULTANEOUSLY WHILE DRIVING TO WORK IN THE DARK ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAPPENED ON TWO OCCASIONS, ALTHOUGH IT IS COMMONLY THE DRIVERS SIDE BULB THAT BURNS OUT SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR. I HAVE BEEN PULLED OVER NOT KNOWING MY HEADLIGHT WAS OUT. THIS CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM AND I AM TOLD THE COST OF THE REPAIR WILL BE OVER $300. BASED ON THE NUMBER OF CRV'S WITH THE SAME DEFECT, I FEEL THAT HONDA SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS REPAIR AND A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED FOR MY VEHICLE BEFORE I CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AS A RESULT OF LOSING MY HEADLIGHTS WHILE DRIVING IN THE DARK AGAIN. CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET AND IT STALLED WHILE DRIVING AND REFUSED TO STAY RUNNING UNTIL IT SAT OVER NIGHT. NEXT MORNING BLOWBY IS COMING THROUGH DIPSTICK. CAR DID NOT OVER HEAT WHILE DRIVING. *TR
SUN VISOR FAILURE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT WILL NO LONGER FOLD UP OR FOLD AWAY. THIS CAUSES A VISUAL HAZARD AND SEEMS LIKE A DESIGN FLAW THAT HAS AFFECTED EVERY CR-V AND ACCORDS EVENTUALLY. TIMING SEEMS TO DEPEND ON THE # OF TIMES THE VISOR IS FLIPPED, & THATS WHY THE PASSENGER SIDE IS NOTED LESS OFTEN (FLIPPED LESS FREQUENTLY). THERE ARE MANY ONLINE VIDEO FIXES (YOUTUBE), BUT AS THERE ARE MANY ONLINE BLOGS REPORTING THIS PROBLEM & IS CLEARLY A VISUAL HAZARD I THINK THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY HONDA & NTSB. *TR
COMPRESSOR CLUTCH GETS SO HOT IF THE A/C IS RAN IT MELTS OR BURNS AROUND CLUTCH AND COMPRESSOR NO HEAT SHIELDS ... (POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD)....
CAR PULLED IN FRONT OF ME ON HIGHWAY. NO TIME TO STOP NOR WAS I ABLE TO CHANGE LANES TO AVOID HIM. HIT AT BETWEEN 35 AND 40 MPH. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND THE SEAT BELT ACTUALLY BROKE AND WAS HANGING LOOSE OUT SIDE OF CAR WHEN THEY REMOVED ME. ONLY MY BRACING WITH MY ARMS INTO STEERING WHEEL AND LEGS STOPPED ME FROM GOING THRU THE WINDSHIELD. *TR
BOTH LOW HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT AT SAME TIME. THE DAY BEFORE THEY WORKED. USUALLY ONE GOES AT A TIME BUT THAT SHOULDN'T HAPPEN TWICE A YEAR. SHOULD IT? I HAVE NEVER OWNED A VEHICLE WHERE I HAVE TO CHANGE THE BULBS SO MUCH. AND NOW BOTH! SOMETHING IS DEFINITELY WRONG ESPECIALLY WHEN I READ SO MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I RESPECTFULLY REQUEST THAT HONDA ISSUE A RECALL AND SEE IF MY2006 IS HAVING SAME PROBLEM AS OTHER RECALLED MODEL YEARS. *JS
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT ON PASSENGER SIDE OF 2006 CR-V CONTINUES TO FAIL. BOTH HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED BUT THE PASSENGER SIDE CONTINUES TO GO OUT MONTHLY. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER AND ASKED IF THERE IS A SOLUTION AND THEY ONLY SUGGEST REPLACING THE BULB AGAIN. THIS IS SAFETY ISSUE THAT HONDA SHOULD BE FORCED TO RESOLVE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE VSA MODULATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
DRIVING VEHICLE WHEN BOTH LOW BEAM LIGHTS WENT OUT. BULBS HAVE BEEN REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES AND BULBS WERE REPLACED AGAIN. NOW, IT APPEARS THAT DRIVERS SIDE LIGHT BULBS ARE MUCH DIMMER (ALMOST NOT VISIBLE) IN COMPARISON TO THE PASSENGERS SIDE BULBS. OPERATION OF THE BULB ALSO APPEARS TO BE SPORADIC. VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVE-ABLE AT NIGHT DUE TO CONCERNS WITH EXTERIOR LIGHTING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING DISTRACTED AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE CONTACT STRUCK A CURB AND DOWN A RAVINE BEFORE LANDING IN BETWEEN TWO MOUNTAINS. ALL OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED EXCEPT THE AIR BAG IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A BODY SHOP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V320000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE CRASH OCCURRED PRIOR TO THE CONTACT RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTIFICATION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
UNINTENDED ACCELERATION IN OUR 2006 HONDA CR-V A PREVIOUS INCIDENT ON A GRAVEL DRIVEWAY WAS QUICKLY CONTROLLED AND THOUGHT OF AS AN ANOMALY. THIS TIME, ON THE HIGHWAY, GOING UPHILL AT 60 MPH, ATTEMPTING TO PASS, THE ENGINE WENT TO FULL THROTTLE. IT WOULD NOT RETURN, JUST KEPT RACING. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WOULD NOT RESPOND. THERE WAS NO FLOOR PAD INVOLVED. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AS FORCEFULLY AS POSSIBLE. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS PULLED. IT COULDN'T BE SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL. THIS HAPPENED WITHIN A DISTANCE OF A HALF-MILE, AND HALF-MILE FURTHER IS A SIGNAL AND CROSS TRAFFIC. TERRIFIED, WE WRESTLED THE VEHICLE OFF HIGHWAY ONTO A SIDE ROAD, AND GRADUALLY GROUND TO A HALT, BURNING THE BRAKES. WITH THE ENGINE RACING, IT WAS PUT IN PARK AND TURNED OFF FOR A MINUTE, THEN IT STARTED AND RAN NORMALLY. TOWED TO HONDA THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG EVEN WHEN THE DISTRICT SERVICE MANAGER INSPECTED IT. WE WOULD NOT DRIVE IT ANYMORE. WE WOULDN'T FOIST THIS VEHICLE ON ANY ONE ELSE EXCEPT HONDA BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE SO WE RELUCTANTLY TRADED IT IN FOR AS NEW ONE. JUST BECAUSE HONDA CAN'T FIND OUT WHAT'S WRONG DOES NOT MEAN THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. THIS IS THE FIFTH HONDA WE HAVE OWNED, BUT WE ARE NOT GREAT FANS OF THE BRAND ANYMORE. *TR
TAKATA RECALL HAS BEEN THE SECOND RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. TWO YEARS AGAIN I HAD TO BRING IT IN FOR THE SAME RECALL, THIS IS AN INCONVENIENCE TO ME AS IT TAKES TIME FOR ME TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS. LOW BEAMS KEEP BURNING OUT AFTER 2 TO 4 MONTHS OF USE. I HAVE REPLACED BOTH HEADLIGHTS AT LEAST 5 TIMES IN THE LAT 3 YEARS. JUST RIDICULOUS. DEALERSHIP JUST REPLACES BULBS AND THE BULBS CONTINUE TO BURN OUT WAY TO QUICKLY. EVEN PURCHASED LONGER LIFE HEADLIGHTS AND REPLACED BOTH AT SAME TIME, ONE BULB STILL BURNED OUT WITHIN 3 MONTHS. WIRING HARNESS ON PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT IS BREAKING LEADING TO MARKER LIGHT, TURN SIGNAL AND HEADLAMP FAILURE. THE WIRES ARE BREAKING AT THE POINT WHERE THEY LEAVE THE WIRE SLEEVE IN THE HARNESS. IN THIS LOCATION, THE CONDUCTORS ARE PROTECTED FROM STRESS ONLY BY HEAT SHRINK TUBING AND THE WIRE INSULATION. STRESS FROM THE WEIGHT OF THE RISING WIRE HARNESS AND TRANSFERRED STRAIN FROM THE BACK OF THE LAMP CONNECTORS IS HIGHEST AT THIS POINT. MELTING OF THE WIRE INSULATION AND HEAT SHRINK TUBING WAS FOUND. *TR

LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS CONSTANTLY NEED TO BE REPLACED. GOING THROUGH MY 3RD REPLACEMENT IN ABOUT A YEAR. USUALLY ONE GOES OUT AND THEN SHORTLY AFTER, THE OTHER ONE GOES OUT. I HAD THEM BOTH REPLACED ABOUT A MONTH AND HALF AGO. I WAS LEAVING WORK AND TURNED ON THE HEADLIGHTS AND WITHIN A SECOND, THEY BOTH WENT OUT. IT WAS DARK SO I HAD TO DRIVE HOME WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON.
ON A 200 MILE TRIP THE AIR CONDITIONER/ COMPRESSOR LOCKED UP. I HAD JUST COMPLETED THE 100,000 MILE SCHEDULED SERVICE WHICH INCLUDED THE DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BACK HOME AS LONG AS I DIDN'T ATTEMPT TO USE THE A/C OR DEFROSTER. OBVIOUSLY HONDA HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE COMPRESSORS THEY ARE USING IN THERE VEHICLES. HOPEFULLY DOT WILL INVESTIGATE THE FAULTY EQUIPMENT. MY SISTER IN LAW HAS ALSO REPLACED TWO COMPRESSORS IN HER 2006 HONDA CRV AT LOWER MILEAGE INTERVALS. NO MORE HONDAS FOR ME! *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT WHEN I NOTICED IT WAS VERY DARK IN FRONT OF MY CAR. IT TURNED OUT BOTH OF MY LOWBEAMS HAD FAILED AT THE SAME TIME. I HAVE REPLACED THE LOW BEAM BULBS 4 TIMES THE PAST 2 YEARS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND 2 TIMES ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THIS TIME THE DRIVERS SIDE WENT OUT AND AFTER TRYING 2 NEW BULBS THEY STILL WILL NOT ILLUMINATE. I ALSO HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE DASH LIGHT NOT COMING ON. THE VSA AND EXCLAMATION LIGHT CAME ON ONE DAY RIGHT WHEN I STARTED THE CAR AND HAS NEVER TURNED OFF. MY MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,000 MILES. TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALER AND CONFIRMED THE ABS MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. PART+LABOR = $2400+ (EXCLUDING TAX). CALLED U.S. HONDA MANUFACTURER AND THEY WILL PAY 25% FOR THE PART. THAT STILL IS EXPENSIVE. I'M READING OFF ON THE WEB THAT COUNTRIES IN THE UK AND CANADA, THAT HONDA HAS PAID THE PART IN FULL. HERE IN THE U.S. THEY DON'T RECOGNIZE THIS AS A DEFECT. THIS PART IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. A LOCAL MECHANIC SAYS I SHOULD NOT DRIVE THIS WHERE IT SNOWS. IF THERE'S SAND, THE CAR WILL BE STUCK. ANOTHER MECHANIC SAID THERE COULD BE A SHORT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INSIDE OF THE BRAKES WERE CORRODED AND THE DISK AND ROUTERS WERE WARPED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PAD SHATTERED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED A THIRD TIME WHERE THE VSC AND ANTI-LOCK BRAKES FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
FOR MONTHS, SUN VISOR HUNG LOW, NOT BLOCKING VISIBILITY, BUT IT WOULD NOT RETURN TO NORMAL, UPRIGHT POSITION. EVENTUALLY HAD A COMPLETE FAILURE OF VISOR WHERE IT NEITHER CLOSES NOR BLOCKS SUN, MERELY HANGS AND CAUSES VISIBILITY ISSUES. THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST (VSA) WARNING LIGHTS SUDDENLY CAME ON. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE HONDA DEALER (GRAPPONE HONDA, BOW, NH) WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND THEY INDICATED THAT THE ABS MODULATOR CONTROL UNIT HAD A DEFECTIVE INTERNAL VALVE AND FAILED. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE CAR ABS SYSTEM WAS NO LONGER OPERATIONAL, AND THIS ALSO DISABLED THE VSA (VEHICLE STABILITY) SYSTEM, THUS MAKING THE HONDA CR-V MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO ROLL-OVERS. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT NEW HAMPSHIRE DEPARTMENT OF SAFETY IS CURRENTLY CONTEMPLATING REQUIRING ABS SYSTEM OPERATION TO PASS ANNUAL SAFETY INSPECTIONS, BUT THAT THE HONDA CR-V COULD CURRENTLY BE DRIVEN WITHOUT AN OPERATIONAL ABS BRAKING SYSTEM. THE HONDA DEALER INDICATED IT WOULD COST $2,050.00 TO REPAIR THE ABS MODULATOR CONTROL UNIT AND THAT IT WOULD TAKE DAYS TO ORDER THE PART AND FURTHER ADDITIONAL DAYS TO SCHEDULE REPAIR ONCE THE PART WAS AT THE DEALER. I REVIEWED SAFERCAR.GOV INFORMATION AND DISCOVERED THAT THIS HONDA ABS/VSA SYSTEM PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED ON OTHER HONDA CR-VS. AN ASSESSMENT OF AVAILABLE INTERNET INFORMATION INDICATED APPROXIMATELY 55 CASES OF HONDA ABS MODULATOR CONTROL UNIT FAILURES. 2006 HONDA CRV SINCE APRIL 2013 I HAVE GONE THROUGH 17 HEADLIGHT BULBS. THAT IS THE MOST I HAVE EVER HAD TO PUT IN ANY OF MY CARS. IF YOU TYPE IN TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEMS WITH 2006 HEADLIGHTS YOU WILL SEE THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER PEOPLE THAT ARE HAVING THIS VERY SAME ISSUE.
