TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO OPERATE. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BULBS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
DRIVEABILITY ISSUES CREATED BY REAR DIFFERENTIAL. REQUIRES ACCELERATED AND EXPENSIVE MAINTENANCE AT INTERVALS ABOVE AND BEYOND FACTORY RECOMMENDATIONS. WOULD APPEAR TO BE A DESIGN RELIABILITY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY HONDA BEYOND SIMPLY SHIFTING THE BURDEN ON TO OWNERS. ....UPDATED 10/26/11 *BF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TWO REAR SEAT BELTS AND THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT HAD A PROBLEM RETRACTING AND WOULD SOMETIMES BECOME STUCK. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE SEAT BELTS WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REPAIR FIXED THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT, BUT THE REAR SEAT BELTS WERE STILL EXPERIENCING THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 72,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
BOTH LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS OUT AT THE SAME TIME. WORKED FINE IN THE MORNING. IN THE EVENING WENT TO MOVE CAR INTO DRIVEWAY, AND HAD NO LOW-BEAMS. HIGH-BEAMS AND TURN INDICATORS WORKED FINE. CHECKED FUSES, CHECKED RELAYS, REPLACED BOTH HEADLIGHT BULBS (H1) AND HEADLIGHT SWITCH WITH OEM REPLACEMENT PART FROM AUTO ZONE. *TR
2006 HONDA CR-V. CONSUMER STATES LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE HAD TO STRUGGLE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. FORTUNATELY, HE WAS ABLE TO DIRECT THE VEHICLE ONTO A WIDE, GRASSY PATCH AND BRING IT TO A STOP. UPON INSPECTION OF THE FRONT WHEEL ASSEMBLY, IT WAS APPARENT THE ENTIRE RIGHT FRONT SUSPENSION, INCLUDING THE AXLE HAD COME LOOSE AND WERE RESTING ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE FENDER. THE CONSUMER HAS SINCE RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER REGARDING A PROBLEM WITH THE CONTROL ARM. *JB
WHILE DRIVING, BOTH LOW-BEAM LIGHTS FAILED IN THE SAME MOMENT. HI-BEAMS REMAINED FUNCTIONING. EARLIER IN THE WEEK THE LOW-BEAMS HAD FLICKED OFF BRIEFLY. BULBS HAD BEEN REPLACED WITHIN PREVIOUS 6-MONTHS. SIMILAR TO HONDA FIT RECALL AND PREVIOUS CRV INVESTIGATION LOW-BEAM INVESTIGATION FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ONLINE. *TR
MY LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE FAILED AT LEAST 4 TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR. AT ONE POINT BOTH HEADLIGHTS WERE OUT WHEN I WENT TO START THE CAR IN THE EVENING. I'VE TAKEN THE CAR TO A LOCAL VENDOR (NOT THE DEALER). INITIALLY, THEY DID SOME ELECTRICAL WORK, STATING THERE WAS A SHORT IN THE SYSTEM, BUT HAVE SINCE REPLACED THE BULBS 4 TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR. HONDA INFORMS ME THAT MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THEIR HEADLIGHT RECALL. *TR
BOTH SUN VISORS FAIL TO STAY IN POSITION WHEN PUSHED AGAINST THE WINDOW. THEY DROP DOWN TO NEARLY VERTICAL POSITION. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS IT OBSTRUCTS THE DRIVER'S VIEW WHILE DRIVING. *TR
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR IN MY 2006 HONDA CR-V WILL NOT STAY IN THE PROPER POSITION. IT HAS NEVER STAYED FLUSH AGAINST THE WINDSHIELD, BUT RATHER SAGGED DOWN ABOUT 1-2 INCHES; HOWEVER, I JUST TREATED THIS AS AN ANNOYANCE PREVIOUSLY. AS OF APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS AGO, IT STARTED SAGGING EVEN FURTHER WHEN "OPENED" AGAINST THE WINDSHIELD, AND NOW IT NO LONGER STAYS FLUSH AGAINST THE ROOF OF THE CAR EITHER, OR AGAINST THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW IF I HAVE IT ROTATED 90 DEGREES. IT SAGS DOWN SEVERAL INCHES, NO MATTER WHICH DIRECTION IT IS TURNED OR FLIPPED. IT IMPACTS MY VISIBILITY BECAUSE IT DOESN'T SHIELD THE SUN PROPERLY, AND IT GETS IN MY WAY, BOTH PHYSICALLY, AND BY BLOCKING MORE OF MY FIELD OF VIEW THAN WHAT IS APPROPRIATE. I AM NOT EVEN TALL--5'4". I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY (8 YEARS/120,000 MILES) AND AM JUST SHY OF 80,000 MILES NOW. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC FIRST, AND THEY SAID THE ENTIRE FIXTURE NEEDS REPLACEMENT. THEN I CALLED MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER TO SEE IF THIS WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY; THEY SAID, "CALL HONDA AND ASK THEM." MEANWHILE, I ASKED WHAT IT WOULD COST ME TO REPAIR THIS OUT OF POCKET: $151 FOR THE VISOR AND $52 PER HOUR FOR LABOR, SO OVER $200, LIKELY. I CALLED HONDA, AND A VERY UNHELPFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON SAID THE SUN VISOR IS CLASSIFIED AS INTERIOR TRIM AND THEREFORE, NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I STRONGLY DISAGREE--THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, NOT A COSMETIC IRREGULARITY ON THE DASHBOARD, OR SOMETHING EQUALLY INCONSEQUENTIAL. *KB
THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR IS LOOSE AND WON'T STAY IN POSITION WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. IF I'M IN AN ACCIDENT, MY HEAD WILL BE CHOPPED BY THE VISOR. ALL OF THE HONDA FORUMS SHOW THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 2005-2006 CR-V. *TR
DURING HEAVY RAINS, WATER WILL SEEP IN UNDER THE CARPETS FROM SOMEWHERE FORWARD AND LOWER THAN THE WINDSHIELD. THE WATER COMES FROM UNDER THE DASHBOARD, USUALLY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. IT DOES NOT DRIP IN, BUT RATHER SOAKS UP FROM UNDER THE CARPET. I PERSONALLY HAVE SEEN THE WATER GROW UP TO 2 INCHES IN DEPTH ABOVE THE CARPETS. AFTER SOME INTERNET SEARCHING, SIMILAR PROBLEMS WERE FOUND IN EARLIER MODELS OF CR-V. THE ISSUES FOUND STEMMED FROM FAULTY/OLD FACTORY SEALS ON ITEMS LIKE THE FIREWALL AND A/C VENTS. PLEASE CONTACT WITH MORE QUESTIONS IF THIS INFORMATION IS UNCLEAR OR COULD BE IMPROVED. *TR
BOTH LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON CAR FAILED AT THE SAME TIME WHEN SWITCHED ON. CHECKED FUSES AND BULBS AND THEY ARE FINE. *TR
EXCESSIVE BURNOUTS AND SHORTING OF DRIVER'S SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT. REPLACING BULBS EVERY SIX MONTHS ON MY 2006 HONDA CRV. OCCASIONALLY, BULB WOULD WORK INTERMITTENTLY AFTER REPLACEMENT. NOW, EVEN NEW BULBS DON'T WORK. IN LAST INSTANCE, BOTH LOW BEAMS APPEAR TO HAVE BURNED OUT AT SAME TIME (FORTUNATELY DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS). UPDATED 08/24/11 *BF THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THEY OFTEN HAVE TO SLIGHTLY BEND THE HEAD LIGHT HOUSING WITH THE BULB TO GET THE PROPER METAL TO CONTACT, WHICH WAS THE CASE WITH THE CONSUMERS HEAD LIGHT. I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE SINCE 2006. NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES UNTIL THIS YEAR WHEN THE ABS AND VSA LIGHT CAME ON. AT FIRST THERE WAS NO ISSUE BUT IT GOT TO THE POINT THAT EVEN AFTER REPLACING SEVERAL SENSORS THE LIGHTS WOULD STAY ON AND THE VEHICLE'S CRUISE CONTROL COULD NOT SET. IT ALSO HAD A LAG BETWEEN BRAKING TO WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD STOP. FINALLY THE ENGINE SEIZED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING IT. WE REPLACED THE ENGINE TO THE TUNE OF 2000.00 AND NOW ONLY A FEW WEEKS LATER THE VSA LIGHT IS BACK ON. *TR
BOUGHT CERTIFIED USED 2006 HONDA CRV IN 2009. ABOUT 6 MONTHS AFTER ONE OF THE HEADLAMPS BURNT OUT, REPLACED IT THEN ABOUT 4 MONTHS LATER IT WENT OUT AGAIN. IT STATED AVERAGING GOING OUT EVERY 4-5 MONTHS, WE JUST KEEP REPLACING THE BULBS. *KB
VSA/ABS MODULATOR FAILURE. VSA/ABS AND VSA EXCLAMATION POINT ALL CAME ON AT ONCE FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND WOULD NOT GO OUT. CERTIFIED HONDA DEALER DID A DIAGNOSTIC WHICH SHOWED THE MODULATOR FAILURE.....SO ESSENTIALLY A MAJOR COMPONENT OF MY BRAKING SYSTEM FAILED. A REPLACEMENT COST OF $1500!!!! VEHICLE IS WELL CARED FOR, I AVOID INCLEMENT WEATHER (IE: SNOW/ICE ETC.) WHEN POSSIBLE AND I CAN COUNT ON TWO HANDS THE AMOUNT OF TIMES THE VSA HAS KICKED ON SINCE FIRST PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN 2006 (BRAND NEW). AS FOR MY ABS I'M NOT AN AGGRESSIVE DRIVER SO MY ABS HAVEN'T BEEN USED AS MUCH EITHER. THE VSA/ABS MODULE SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED AS IT DID. *TR
WE HAVE CHANGED THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE NUMEROUS TIMES THAT I HAVE LOST COUNT. WE HAVE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK TO HONDA AND THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I FIND IT IRONIC THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR HEADLIGHT PROBLEMS FOR THE SAME VEHICLE BUT DIFFERENT YEAR AND HONDA IS NOT TAKING ANY BLAME FOR THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE THEIR IS NO RECALL FOR THIS YEAR. CURRENTLY MY DAUGHTER HAS THIS VEHICLE AWAY AT COLLEGE FOUR HOURS FROM HOME AND SHE HAS TO DEAL WITH A CAR AND NO HEADLIGHTS ! *TR
THE LOW BEAMS ON MY HONDA HAVE BEEN REPLACED ABOUT 11 TIMES SINCE LAST SUMMER. IT STARTER WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE- SO NOW, IT GOES PASSENGER, DRIVER, PASSENGER, ETC. I CHANGED THE WHITE THINGS THAT HOLD THE BULBS AND REPLACED BOTH BULBS (AGAIN!) NOW NEITHER LOW BEAMS WORK! I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH MY BRIGHT LIGHTS ON AND I LIVE IN A CITY- THIS DOES NOT MAKE OTHER DRIVERS VERY HAPPY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING THE CONTACT APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES AND HIT HIS HEAD ON THE SUN VISOR. HE SUSTAINED AN INJURY TO HIS RETINA WHEN THE SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK IN PLACE. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT HE PULLED THE SEAT BELT STRAP AND IT WORKED FINE. THE SUPERVISOR TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE CONTACT AND PERFORMED SEVERAL EMERGENCY STOPS. THE TECHNICIANS SUPERVISOR, CONFIRMED AND WROTE IN A REPORT THAT THE SEAT BELT DID NOT ENGAGE UNTIL HE WAS HALFWAY FORWARD. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO STATED THAT HONDA MOTORS HAD BEEN CONTACTED THEY ARE WAITING FOR A CORRECTION AND AN ANSWER REGARDING THE SEAT BELT FAILURE. HE ALSO SPOKE WITH ANOTHER MANAGER WHO ALSO TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND DENIED THE CONTACT FROM DRIVING ALONG WITH HER AND WITHIN 10 MINUTES SHE SAID THE SEAT BELT FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. ON JUNE 3, 2011 THE CONTACT WAS REAR ENDED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT TWICE WHICH RESULTED IN A THREE CAR CRASH. HE WENT COMPLETELY FORWARD WITHOUT THE SEAT BELT SECURING HIM WHICH CAUSED HIM TO HIT THE HEAD REST IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS NECK. HE WAS TRANSPORTED VIA AMBULANCE TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT A PASSENGER IN ONE OF THE OTHER VEHICLES MAY HAVE ALSO BEEN INJURED IN THE CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE SUPERVISOR WHO PREVIOUSLY DENIED ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE SEAT BELT ADVISED HIM ON THE DAY OF THE CRASH THAT THERE WERE CODES THAT WOULD INDICATE ERRORS WITH THE SEAT BELT; HOWEVER, ANOTHER HONDA DEALER THAT THERE WAS ANYTHING THAT RECORDED A CRASH DID NOT EXIST. HE WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT NONE OF THE TECHNICIANS OPENED THE SEAT BELT MECHANISM TO EXAMINE IT. THE DEALER GAVE HIM AN 800 NUMBER TO THE CORPORATE OFFICE WHERE HE FILED CASE#N012010-03-080148 WHICH HE WAS ADVISED WAS CURRENTLY CLOSED. AN INSURANCE ADJUSTER ADVISED HIM TODAY THAT THEY NEED TO COMPLETE A MORE DETAILED EXAMINATION OF THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO DETERMINE THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. UPDATED 3/8/12 *CN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT PERIODICALLY STOPPED ILLUMINATING. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE LIGHT BULB HIMSELF AFTER EACH FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
VEHICLE BEGAN SURGING THEN LOST POWER. DASH WARNING LIGHTS FOR VSA, ENGINE, AND "!" CAME ON AS VEHICLE LOST POWER THEN STALLED. TURNED OFF IGNITION AND THEN RESTARTED. RAN FINE AFTER IT COOLED OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES. STILL HAPPENING OVER A YEAR LATER. INTERNET SEARCH REVEALS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM SPREAD ACROSS MANY MODEL YEARS. DEALERS UNABLE TO SOLVE PROBLEM AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS CAUSING IT. *TR
BOTH HEADLIGHTS (LOW BEAMS ONLY) STOPPED WORKING AT SAME TIME. WE CHECKED FUSES AND THEY ARE FINE WE REPLACED A BULB AND IT STILL DIDN'T WORK. *TR

THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT HIM AT A LATER TIME TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. WE PURCHASED A HONDA CR-V IN 2006. WE HAVE HAD 12 CASES OF THE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHT FAILURES. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT HAPPENS AT NIGHT AND WE ARE THANKFUL BOTH HEADLIGHTS HAVE NOT FAILED AT THE SAME TIME SO FAR. OUR LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP KNOWS THIS SITUATION HAVING REPLACED THE BULBS AND COMPLETE HARNESSES. NOTHING HAS STOPPED THE ONGOING PROBLEM. EMAIL TRANSMITTING LETTER TO THE ADMINISTRATOR FROM RE FRAUDULENT CONCEALMENT BY HONDA OF MATERIAL DEFECTS IN HONDA CR-V VEHICLES 2003-2008 *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE HAS SPENT OVER $900 IN THE PAST THREE YEARS TO CONSTANTLY REPLACE THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS IN HIS VEHICLE WHICH CONSTANTLY FAILED. THE CONSUMER STATED A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR EARLIER MODELS, BUT IT NEEDS TO BE EXTENDED TO 2003-2008 MODELS *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS STOPPED ILLUMINATING. A LOCAL MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE BUT WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE LOW BEAM BULBS WERE REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE CONTACT HAD TO USE THE HIGH BEAMS WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. EMISSIONS LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK 2006 CRV WITH 24,000 MILES TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP. DIAGNOSTIC CAME UP BANK 1 SENSOR 1 HEAT CIRCUIT INOPERABLE (BAD FRONT O2 SENSOR-EMISSIONS). COMPLAINED. NO REASON FOR O2 SENSORS TO GO OUT WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CRV. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. SHE PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. ONCE RESTARTED, THE FAILURE CEASED. THE CONTACT DID NOT INFORM THE DEALER OR MANUFACTURER NOR WAS THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

MY 2006 HONDA CR-V HAS ONLY 71,000 MILES ON IT. THE ENGINE HAS BEEN MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME THAT I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND THAT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
STARTING IN JANUARY OF 2011 I HAVE REPLACED THE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS NUMEROUS TIMES. THEY ARE NOW GOING OUT EVERY 4 MONTHS. IT IS GETTING QUITE EXPENSIVE AND HONDA SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM FOR THE 2006 CR-V OWNERS. *TR

OWN 2006 HONDA CRV, HAD THE RIGHT HEADLIGHT GO OUT AND NOW THE LEFT HEADLIGHT IS OUT, REPLACED THE LEFT AND STILL NOT WORKING, LOOKED ON INTERNET AND FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE CRV HEADLIGHT PROBLEM, CALLED HONDA DEALER AND THEY DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ANY PROBLEMS BUT THE COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET CARRY OUT THAT THE CRV HAS A HEADLIGHT PROBLEM, WHEN I BOUGHT THE NEW HEADLIGHT BULB FROM AN INDEPENDENT PARTS HOUSE THEY SAID THEY SELL A TON OF THESE AND CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY HONDA DOES NOT OFFER A SOLUTION TO MINIMIZE THIS PROBLEM. *TR
HONDA 2006 CR-V TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED. AFTER DISCOVERING THE PROBLEM, THE PROBLEM BECAME SEVERE WITHIN 3 WEEKS. HONDA OVERCHARGED FOR THE TRANSMISSION REPAIR AND REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION WITH A REBUILT TRANSMISSION RATHER THAN A NEW ONE. AFTER READING THE HONDA COMPLAINTS SITE, I DISCOVERED THAT HONDA OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD THEIR TRANSMISSIONS REPLACED ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE REPLACED TRANSMISSIONS TOO. ALSO, THE REPAIR COST ME $2,358.81 AFTER HONDA SUPPOSEDLY CONTRIBUTED $1,500 TO THE REPAIR. THIS COST IS MORE THAN I WOULD HAVE PAID IF I HAD TAKEN THE CAR TO AN INDEPENDENT TRANSMISSION SHOP FOR REPAIR. I HAVE NEVER HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH ANY OTHER CAR I HAVE OWNED, INCLUDING MY TOYOTA CAMRY, WHICH HAD 279,000 MILES ON IT WHEN IT WAS REAR ENDED AND TOTALED BY A FORD 150. *TR
THE DRIVER SEAT OF MY 2006 HONDA CR-V BEGAN WOBBLING AND ROCKING. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY MENTIONED THAT THE SEAT FRAME IS WORN OUT AND NEED TO REPLACE IT. IT COSTS ABOUT $600. DRIVER SEAT IS A VERY IMPORTANT PART AND SHOULD NOT BE WORN OUT LIKE THAT. *TR
MY LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS BURN OUT EVERY 5-7 WEEKS, ESPECIALLY THE DRIVER'S SIDE. I LIVE IN A RURAL AREA WITH CONSTANT ROAD HAZARDS SUCH AS DEER, WINDING UNLIT ROADS AND ICY PATCHES. WHEN THE HEADLAMP BLOWS IT CREATES A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD SINCE ONE LIGHT IS NOT ENOUGH TO SAFELY AVOID THE NUMEROUS HAZARDS I FACE ON A DAILY BASIS. I RETURN HOME FROM WORK AFTER DARK AND AM NEVER SURE IF MY LIGHTS WILL MAKE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE COMMUTE. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FROM 2006 HONDA CRV OWNERS AND SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE. *JS
I PURCHASED A HONDA CERTIFIED USED 2006 CR-V IN JUNE 2010. IT HAS BEEN A GREAT VEHICLE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2010. AROUND LABOR DAY WEEKEND, MY DRIVER'S SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. SO WENT TO WAL-MART AND BOUGHT A NEW SET. WENT AHEAD AND REPLACED BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. TWO WEEKS LATER, THE PASSENGER LOW BEAM WENT OUT, REPLACED IT. THREE WEEK AFTER THAT, THE DRIVERS SIDE WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AT NIGHT, REPLACED THAT ONE. THREE WEEKS LATER THE PASSENGERS SIDE AGAIN WENT OUT. REPLACED IT. NOW, THE FIRST WEEK IN DECEMBER, THE DRIVER SIDE WAS OUT, AGAIN!!! I AM VERY CAREFUL TO NOT TOUCH THE BULB ITSELF WHEN REPLACING IT. I'VE ALSO USED THE DIELECTRIC GREASE TO HELP MAKE A SEAL ON THE CONNECTOR. I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE WRONG ELECTRICALLY. I AM TAKING MY CAR TO GET BRAKES IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS, SO I WILL ASK THEM TO TAKE A LOOK. OBVIOUSLY, THE PROBLEM STEMS FURTHER DOWN TO THE VEHICLE ITSELF. AT $25/BULB, IT'S RATHER EXPENSIVE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN HE SMELLED A BURNING ODOR. HE ATTEMPTED TO ENGAGE THE DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW SWITCH BUT THE WINDOW WOULD NOT OPEN AND SPARKS WERE SEEN COMING FROM THE SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW SWITCH WAS MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 11V456000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). MY HONDA CR-V IS MAKING A LOUD CHATTERING NOISE DURING LOW-SPEED CORNERING. THE GEARS IN THE DIFFERENTIAL NEED REGROUND. MY HONDA DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS MY FAULT AND WILL NOT COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY. FROM THE SOUND AND THE FEEL OF THE PROBLEM, I WILL SOON BE STRANDED ALONG THE HIGHWAY. HONDA HAS A PROBLEM WITH SUN VISORS IN 2006 HONDA CR-VS. THE SUN VISORS SAG DOWN AND OBSTRUCT THE DRIVERS VISION CAUSING SAFETY ISSUES. YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO SEE TRAFFIC LIGHTS OR TRAFFIC SIGNS WHEN SUN VISORS SAG DOWN. MANY OWNERS HAVE HAD THESE VISORS REPLACED BY HONDA UP TO 4 AND 5 TIMES AND EACH NEW VISOR FAILS WITHIN WEEKS OR MONTHS. OWNERS ARE REPORTING THE PROBLEMS IN POPULAR AUTOMOTIVE FORUMS ON THE WEB. THE VISORS IN MY 2006 CR-V HAVE BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES AND THE 4TH SET JUST FAILED AGAIN. HONDA HAS NO EXPLANATION EACH TIME. I AM CALLING HONDA'S CORPORATE OFFICE TODAY. *TR

UPON ENTERING GARAGE AT RESIDENCE, EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION RESULTING IN VEHICLE LURCHING FORWARD INTO GARAGE STRIKING PARTIALLY CLOSED GARAGE DOOR AND HITTING REAR CONCRETE BLOCK WALL OF GARAGE WITH SUFFICIENT FORCE TO DISLODGE WALL AND ACTIVATE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG. DRIVER SUFFERED MODERATE BURNS TO RIGHT ARM FROM AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. VEHICLE SUSTAINED SEVERE FRONT END DAMAGE. AM CONCERNED THAT EVEN IF VEHICLE CAN BE REPAIRED, POSSIBILITY OF ANOTHER SIMILAR EVENT IS TROUBLING. I HOPE HONDA WILL INVESTIGATE THIS ACCIDENT AND REPORT ITS FINDINGS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING AND ATTEMPTING A SHARP TURN, THE VEHICLE WOULD EXHIBIT AN UNUSUALLY LOUD NOISE. SHE ALSO NOTICED A SHUDDERING NOISE FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,000.
EXCESSIVE BURNOUT OF LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FOR PAST 2 YEARS. REPLACING BULBS ON ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER EVERY 3 OR 4 MONTHS. HAVE BEEN STOPPED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS BY POLICE OFFICERS FOR BURNED OUT HEADLIGHTS. CONTACTED HONDA SERVICE CENTER WHO SAY THEY CANNOT FIX WITHOUT CHARGING UNLESS THERE IS A RECALL. RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR EARLIER MODELS AND APPEARS, BASED ON WEBSITES INDICATING NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF SIMILAR NATURE, THAT THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED THROUGH 2008 MODELS. LAST WEEK, BOTH BULBS WENT OUT REQUIRING ME TO DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAMS AFTER DARK. WE KEEP REPLACING THE BULBS AS WE DO NOT WISH TO INCUR THE EXPENSE OF HAVING DEALER REPAIR WHEN IT APPEARS TO BE A DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURING. HAVE SPOKEN TO OTHER CR-V OWNERS HAVING SIMILAR EXPERIENCE. MY GUESS IS THAT THERE ARE MORE CR-V OWNERS WITH THIS PROBLEM BUT WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE OF HOW TO REPORT THE ISSUE.
