WIPERS QUIT WORKING WHEN THE WASHER FUNCTION IS USED. WIPERS STAY UP AND WON'T GO DOWN. *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER NEW CRV WITH OUR NEWBORN INFANT ON THE HIGHWAY AT 8PM. WITHOUT ANY WARNING THE CAR DIED AND THE DASHBOARD WENT BLACK. SHE WAS IN THE MIDDLE LANE AND ALMOST GOT REAR-ENDED BY A SEMI TRYING TO GET TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER. SHE TRIED STARTING IT AND IT CAUGHT AFTER A FEW TRIES. WHAT KIND OF CRAP VEHICLE IS HONDA PUTTING OUT? THIS IS OUR FIRST HONDA AND IT WILL BE THE LAST. WE CALLED BREWSTER HONDA AND THEY WERE VERY ACCOMMODATING BUT THEY SAID THEY COULDN?T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THERE IS NO WAY MY WIFE AND BABY WILL GET IN THAT DEATH MOBILE AGAIN. OF COURSE HONDA USA HAS NEVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING. I GUESS THEY NEED A LAWSUIT AND SOME NEWS STATIONS TO GET THEIR ATTENTION. IT HAS ALSO BEEN IN SERVICE FOR RUNNING VERY ROUGH EVERY FEW WEEKS BUT THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING WITH THAT EITHER. IT WAS BOUGHT IN APRIL 2007 AND HAS 8500 MILES. *TR
WE PURCHASED A NEW HONDA CRV 2007 FOR MY DAUGHTER IN COLLEGE IN OCTOBER 2006 FROM ED VOYLES HONDA, MARIETTA, GA. IN APRIL OF 2007 MY DAUGHTER HAD TROUBLE STARTING THE CAR AFTER IT HAD BEEN DRIVEN AND LEFT PARKED FOR A HOUR OR MORE. SHE HAD TO CRANK THE ENGINE FOR 10-20 MINUTES BEFORE THE CAR WOULD START. WE DOCUMENTED THE PROBLEM IN E-MAIL TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TOOK THE CAR IN ON MORE THAN THREE OCCASIONS. THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. DURING JULY 2007 WE LEFT THE CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THREE WEEKS FOR THEM TO TRY AND RE-CREATE THE PROBLEM, THEY WERE UNABLE TO DO SO. THE DEALERSHIP CONSULTED WITH THE HONDA TECH-LINE AND THEY COULD STILL NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM. DURING THE PAST SEVEN MONTHS WE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM OCCURRING MORE THAN 15 TIMES TO DIFFERENT DRIVERS OF THE VEHICLE. ON SUNDAY 10-14-2007 IN FRUSTRATION I GAVE MY CAR TO MY DAUGHTER TO TAKE BACK TO COLLEGE SINCE THE HONDA CRV WAS PROVING TO BE TOO UNRELIABLE. ON THE DAY I DROVE THE CRV AND SURE ENOUGH AFTER HAVING PARKED THE CAR FOR 3 HOURS IT TOOK ME 24 MINUTES OF CRANKING TO START THE CAR. ONCE THE CAR STARTED I DROVE FOR TWO MILES AND THEN IT JUST CUT-OUT. THIS LEFT ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION FOR 3 TERRIFYING MINUTES OF CRANKING THE ENGINE BEFORE IT STARTED AGAIN. WE HAVE NOW RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WE HAVE A RENTAL FROM THE DEALERSHIP. THE HONDA CRV 2007 HAS PROVED TO BE VERY UNRELIABLE AND AS A PARENT I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY DAUGHTER DRIVING THIS CAR. WE HAVE LOST CONFIDENCE IN THE VEHICLE AND THINK THAT HONDA USA SHOULD NOW REMEDY THE SITUATION. IN OUR ESTIMATION THIS CAR IS A "LEMON" AND WE ARE NOW CONSIDERING OUR LEGAL OPTIONS UNDER THE GEORGIA LEMON LAW. BY ALL RIGHTS HONDA USA SHOULD REPLACE THIS VEHICLE WITH A NEW ONE. *JB
I WAS INVOLVED IN A MINOR COLLISION AND THE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE TO THE TOTAL DAMAGE TO MY 2007 HONDA CR-V WAS WELL OVER $8,000. I WAS REAR ENDED BY SOMEONE AND PUSHED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE AT ALL TO THE CAR I WAS PUSHED INTO AND ONLY MINOR DAMAGE TO THE CAR THAT REAR-ENDED ME. THE REAR END DAMAGE TO MY CAR WAS OVER $3,000 AND THE FRONT END DAMAGE TO MY CAR WAS OVER $5,000. THIS WAS A VERY LOW SPEED COLLISION ON A LOCAL STREET AND EVEN THE COLLISION SHOP MANAGER WAS STUNNED AT THE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE TO THE CAR, ESPECIALLY THE FRONT END. THE COMPRESSOR OF THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR BY THIS MINOR COLLISION AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. MY AUTO INSURANCE HAD TO PAY FOR THIS. THE COLLISION SHOP MANAGER SAID HE'D NEVER SEEN ANYTHING QUITE LIKE THAT - HE ASKED ME IF THIS WAS A HIGH SPEED COLLISION (IT WAS NOT), THEN ASKED ME IF THE CAR I WAS PUSHED INTO HAD A TRAILER HITCH STICKING OUT (IT HAD NOTHING STICKING OUT). I NOW AM READING NUMEROUS CONSUMER COMPLAINTS BY PEOPLE ABOUT THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR IN THIS CAR IN WHICH THE DEALER STATED THAT THE COMPRESSOR WAS DAMAGED BY A "PEBBLE" FROM THE ROAD. BASED ON THESE COMPLAINTS AND MY OWN EXPERIENCE, I CAN ONLY CONCLUDE THAT THERE IS A SERIOUS DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURE OF THE 2007 HONDA CR-V'S AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR, CAUSING THE CONSUMERS TO HAVE TO ENDURE HUGE COSTS TO REPLACE THIS COMPRESSOR BECAUSE OF SUCH MINOR THINGS AS PEBBLES STRIKING THE PART AND LOW SPEED MINOR FENDER BENDERS!!! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT AND MAKES A LOUD GRINDING NOISE WHEN DRIVING IN REVERSE. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES FOR THE FAILURE AND THEY CHANGED THE BRAKE OIL DIFFERENTIAL AND SUGGESTED THAT THE OIL BE CHANGED EVERY THREE TO FOUR THOUSAND MILES. THIS CORRECTED THE FAILURE TEMPORARILY, BUT THE GRINDING NOISE RECURRED A WEEK LATER AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN PULLING TO THE LEFT AGAIN. A REPORT WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY STATED THAT A REPRESENTATIVE WILL INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT YET BEEN INSPECTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,804 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
PURCHASED A NEW HONDA CRV FROM BOB BARBOUR HONDA IN GREENVILLE NC. IN JULY. AFTER 2,300 MILES THE REAR PARKING BRAKE WAS DESTROYED. HONDA REFUSED TO FIX IT UNDER WARRANTY CLAIMING THAT IT WAS TOWED WITH THE BRAKE ON. IT WAS NOT, AS I CHECKED THE BRAKE LIGHT AND FOOT PEDAL WHEN I LEFT. AFTER REPLACING ALL THE BRAKE PADS, ROTOR AND BEARINGS IT WAS STILL NOT WORKING RIGHT AND THEY DETERMINED THE CABLE WAS BAD. WHEN I ASKED THEM IF THAT WAS THE CAUSE OR EFFECT, THEY SAID THEY WERE NOT SURE. THERE WAS NO WAY TO TELL. TO ME THIS WAS EXCULPATE, AND MY DEALER WAS WILLING TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR, BUT ONE PERSON AT NORTH AMERICAN HONDA WOULD NOT CHANGE HER MIND. THE APPEAL PROCESS IS A JOKE. I MADE SURE THEY GAVE ME ALL THE PARTS BACK. I WAS LUCKY MY CAR DID NOT CATCH FIRE. *TR
2007 HONDA CRVS ARE MAKING A WHISTLING NOISE DURING NORMAL ACCELERATION. HONDA DEALERS ARE NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM!!! COULD BE DANGEROUS. *TR
(1) EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE FAILURE - NONE, CAR WAS DRIVEN UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS ON PAVED ROADS AND HIGHWAYS (2) FAILURE AND ITS CONSEQUENCES - ACCORDING TO A DEALER, DEBRIS (PERHAPS A ROCK OR PEBBLE) FLEW PAST THE GRILL AND PUNCTURED THE AC CONDENSER, CAUSING A LEAK. CONSEQUENTLY, THE AIR CONDITIONER NO LONGER BLOWS COLD AND WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $800 TO REPAIR. (3) WHAT WAS DONE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE - NO ACTION HAS HERETOFORE BEEN TAKEN. *TR
TO BEGIN, I RECENTLY PURCHASED DIRECTLY FROM MANLY HONDA, IN MARIN COUNTY, CA, EARLIER THIS JAN/FEB OF 2007 A BRAND-NEW 2007 HONDA CR-V EXL, $28K. A FIRST-TIME CAR BUYER, I HAD PAID IN FULL USING MY HARD-EARNED MONEY WHAT I BELIEVED TO BE A RELIABLE, DEPENDABLE AND TROUBLE-FREE CAR. ALAS, I BEGAN NOTICING SOME IRREGULARITIES WITH THE CAR SOON THEREAFTER. TO NAME BUT A FEW, THEY ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1) A TAPPING SOUND IN THE BACK OF MY CAR; 2) A WET SPOT NOTED ON THE FLOOR OF MY GARAGE UNDER THE HOOD AREA; 3) INTERMITTENT INABILITY TO START THE CAR WHEREBY THE BATTERY LIGHT WOULD COME ON; AND 4) INABILITY TO ACCELERATE, BUT SUDDEN SURGE THEREAFTER WHEN DRIVING. I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN TO BE SERVICED ON MONDAY, AUGUST 13, 2007. LATER THAT AFTERNOON I RECEIVED A CALL FROM SF HONDA, THE SERVICE DEALER, TO ADVISE THAT: 1) THE TAPPING SOUND IN THE BACK OF MY CAR IS DUE TO A WELDING DEFECT. HAVING JACKED UP THE CAR AND REMOVED ALL THE BACK PANELS TO THE VEHICLE, THEY HAD DETERMINED THAT THE DEFECTIVE WELD OR WELDS WERE LOCATED FURTHER WITHIN THE VEHICLE AND MY CAR WOULD NEED TO BE SENT TO AN AUTO BODY SHOP TO BE FURTHER STRIPPED APART TO DETERMINE THE NUMBER OF DEFECTIVE WELDS IN QUESTION. 2) A POWDER TEST PERFORMED ON MY ENGINE HAD DETERMINED THAT IT WAS A TRANSMISSION LEAK AND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. 3) THEY HAD YET TO DETERMINE WHY MY CAR WOULD FAIL TO START AND THE BATTERY LIGHT APPEAR; AND 4) THE SUDDEN SURGING OF MY VEHICLE ONCE I HAD STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR WAS DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE LEAK IN THE TRANSMISSION. UPON HEARING THIS, I WAS FLABBERGASTED. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT A BRAND-NEW CAR, A HONDA WHICH IS NOTED FOR ITS RELIABILITY, WOULD ENCOUNTER SUCH PROBLEMS? AND AT 3,158 MILES? AND SIMULTANEOUSLY? WHAT DOES THIS SAY ABOUT HONDA'S QUALITY ASSURANCE AND MANUFACTURING STANDARDS? *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CRV. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH SHE HEARD A TAPPING SOUND COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. SHE ALSO NOTICED TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING. THE VEHICLE WOULD SURGE OUT OF CONTROL WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN WELDED PROPERLY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD NEED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE BODY SHOP AND REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,158 AND NO FAILURE MILEAGE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A WHEEL ALIGNMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS ALIGNED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY PERFORMED ANOTHER WHEEL ALIGNMENT, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO SPEAK WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT A MODIFICATION FAILURE WAS THE CAUSE. AS OF NOVEMBER 2, 2007, THE DEALER HAD NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 880. UPDATED 11/21/07 *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CRV. THE AIR CONDITIONER WOULD BLOW HOT AIR. THE DEALER STATED THAT A PEBBLE DAMAGED THE AIR CONDENSER. THE VIN AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
DIRECTION RELAY SWITCH IS ONLY AUDIBLE WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED AND AT IDLE. ROAD NOISE DAMPENS THE SOUND OF THE DIRECTION RELAY AT MOST SPEEDS AND ROAD CONDITIONS. MANUFACTURE DOES NOT OFFER AN OPTIONAL DIRECTION RELAY WHICH COULD INCREASE THE DECIBELS OF THE RELAY. WHEN SOUND OF DIRECTIONAL RELAY DOES NOT CANCEL AFTER A LESS THAN 90 DEGREE TURN THEN CONTINUED FLASHING OF THE EXTERIOR DIRECTIONAL LIGHTS HAS CAUSED NEAR MISSES WITH OTHER VEHICLES.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35-40 MPH, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE BEHIND THE CONTACT REAR ENDED HER VEHICLE, PUSHING HER EVEN FURTHER INTO THE VEHICLE SHE STRUCK. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND SHE SUSTAINED SEVERE INJURIES SUCH AS A BROKEN STERNUM. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP, WHERE IT HAS REMAINED FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS. DEFECTIVE FRONT AND REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS LEAD TO EXCESSIVE PITCHING OF VEHICLE EVEN ON MINOR UNEVEN ASPHALT. OWNERS WITH THIS DEFECT ARE SWERVING THEIR VEHICLES TO AVOID ROUGH PAVEMENT INCREASING RISK OF COLLISIONS. AS I UNDERSTAND IT THE PROBLEM IS DUE TO A DEFECTIVE BATCH OF SHOCK ABSORBERS INCLUDED ON SOME JAPANESE BUILT 2007 CRVS. US BUILT UNITS SEEM TO HAVE AVOIDED THIS ISSUE. *TR
2007 HONDA CRV PRODUCED IN JAPAN HAS DEFECTIVE SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLIES WHICH ALLOW THE CAR TO BOUNCE UNDAMPED ON ROUGH ROAD SURFACES AND CAN LEAD TO LOSS OF CONTROL. THE US MANUFACTURED UNITS DO NOT EXHIBIT THIS BEHAVIOR. ADDITIONALLY HONDA LISTS DIFFERENT REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THE US AND JAPANESE BUILT 2007 MODELS SO THE PARTS ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. *TR
CONDENSER FROM AIR CONDITIONER FAILED DUE TO STONE HITTING IT. *JB
TOOK CAR TO DEALER WITH WARM AIR CONDITIONING BLOWING. DEALER STATED THAT CONDENSER HAD A HOLE FROM ROAD DEBRIS; REPAIR COSTS WAS $765. SUBSEQUENT SEARCH OF HONDA FORUMS REVEALED ONGOING PROBLEM WITH FREQUENT AIR CONDITIONER FAILURES, AND EXACT SAME LINE FROM DEALER ABOUT ROAD DEBRIS. AIR CONDITIONING FAILURE IN THE DEEP SOUTH WAS AN UNACCEPTABLE PROBLEM IN A 9 MONTH OLD CAR WITH 20,000 MILES. REPEATED FAILURES IN DIFFERENT MODELS WAS INDICATIVE OF POOR QUALITY, AND LEAKING COOLANT WAS A DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE.*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM LIGHT ILLUMINATES INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. SAFETY HAZARD- 2007 HONDA CRV UNSTABLE WHEN BEING DRIVEN ON GROOVED HIGHWAY. VEHICLE OSCILLATES SEVERELY DIAGONALLY FROM FRONT TO REAR AND VICE VERSA, WHEN THIS ROAD CONDITION IS EXPERIENCED. OVERSTEERING TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM COULD RESULT IN ERRATIC LANE CHANGE OR SHIFT. SAME ROAD CONDITION DOES NOT IMPACT OTHER VEHICLES THAT WE DRIVE ON THE SAME STRETCH OF ROAD. CALLS AND VISITS TO THE DEALER (SOUTH BAY HONDA, LOS GATOS, CA.) HAVE RESULTED IN A RESPONSE OF "IT'S JUST THE CAR" AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. I FEEL IT IS A PROBLEM WITH HONDA2007 CRV'S SUSPENSION SYSTEM / TIRES WHEN THIS TYPE OF ROAD IS ENCOUNTERED. I FEEL THAT POTENTIAL BUYERS AND OPERATORS SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OF THIS CONDITION, AND THAT CORRECTIVE ACTION BY THE MANUFACTURER IS REQUIRED. *TR
I BOUGHT A HONDA CRV 2007. THE SECOND ROW OF SEATS HAS A SMALL DIVISION THAT CAN LEAN FORWARD. IF A CHILD PUTS HIS ARM BETWEEN ONE OF THE OTHER TWO SEATS AND THE SMALL SECTION AND ANOTHER PERSON RETURNS IT TO IT'S VERTICAL POSITION THE CHILD'S ARM CAN BE INJURED. THAT CAN HAPPEN IF A TODDLER IS SEATING ON HIS CARSEAT IN ONE OF THE SIDE SEATS. *JB
THE DOOR ON THE RIGHT OF DRIVER SIDE WAS LOCKED HALF YEAR'S AGO. UNABLE TO OPEN IT. ON SEPT. 19, 2013, THE DOOR ON THE RIGHT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS LOCKED. AND NOW THE DOORS ON THE LEFT OF PASSENGER SIDE AS WELL AS THE TRUNK WERE LOCKED. IT POSE SERIOUS SAFETY DANGER. *TR

AFTER MAKING A FEW CALLS TO THE GENERAL SALES MANAGER THEY AGREED TO FIX IT, ONLY BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP DEPOSITED MY CHECK EARLY AND IT BOUNCED. I HAVE CHECKED ONLINE, AND THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY MANY HONDA CUSTOMERS SO I CALLED 1-800-999-1009 AND SPOKE TO HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL, AND ITWAS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. HER AND THE SERVICE ECHNICIAN AT TAMPA HONDALAND BOTH TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO BUY OR HAVE MADE SOME KIND OF COVER M TO PROTECT THE A/C CONDENSER SO THAT IT HOPEFULLY WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN....WHAT? "TAKATA RECALL" I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM HONDA DEALER, EXPLANING ABOUT THE DEFECT WHICH RELATES TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY EXISTS IN CERTAIN 2007-2011 MODEL YEAR CR-V .

I CALLED HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE, AS THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDED. CUSTOMER SERVICE RECOGNIZES THE PROBLEM, BUT CHOSE TO DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. THE CAR IS A BRAND NEW 2007 HONDA CRV. TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 16V061000 (AIR BAGS) AND 16V346000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURE EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING LIGHT (SYSTEM FAULT) KEEPS COMING ON. FIRST INCIDENT WAS AT ABOUT 300 MILES AND WENT AWAY AFTER VEHICLE REACHED A STOP. 2ND WAS AT 350 MILES AND AGAIN WENT OFF WHEN VEHICLE WAS STOPPED. 3RD WAS AT 750 MILES AND STAYED ON FOR ABOUT 3 MILES (VEHICLE DID NOT STOP). 4TH WAS AT790 MILES AND AGAIN WENT OFF AFTER 3 MILES. TIRE PRESSURE WAS CHECKED BY OWNER AND FOUND TO BE OKAY AT THE 1ST AND 3RD TIMES. VEHICLE WAS CHECKED TWICE BY DEALER (AFTER THE 2ND AND 4TH INCIDENTS). THE FIRST VISIT THE DEALER RESET THE TIRE PRESSURE. THE 2ND VISIT 2 TIRES WERE CHANGED OUT TO GET NEW SENSORS. THE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER ABOUT 50 MILES AND NOW DOES NOT RESET UPON VEHICLE STOPPAGE OR AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE ON AND OFF. *JB
WE PURCHASED A HONDA CR-V 2007 AT OURISMAN HONDA IN BETHESDA, MARYLAND, ON DECEMBER 28TH, 2006. ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS WE BOUGHT THIS CAR IS THE MPG ADVERTISED BY HONDA AMERICA, WHICH IS 22/MPG IN THE CITY AND 28/MPG ON THE HIGHWAY (PERFECTLY VISIBLE ON THE BIG STICKER ON THE SIDE WINDOW OF THE CAR). UNFORTUNATELY, THE CAR IS NOT PERFORMING WITHIN THESE NUMBERS, THAT IS THE REASON WHY WE CONTACTED YOU ALREADY AND GOT THIS CASE NUMBER. NOW, AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR ALMOST FOUR MONTHS AND OVER 2,500 MILES THE ACTUAL MPG IS STILL MUCH LOWER THAN ADVERTISED. THE OVERALL MPG IS AROUND 17/MPG (WHICH IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE 25/MPG ADVERTISED BY HONDA, IN FACT IT IS AROUND 45% LESS THEN ADVERTISED), THE ACTUAL MPG FOR THE HIGHWAY IS LITTLE OVER 22 MPG (AGAIN NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE MPG ADVERTISED WHICH IS 28 MPG, IN FACT IT IS 30% LOWER) AND THE ACTUAL MPG IN THE CITY IS AROUND 15 MPG (AGAIN NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE 22 MPG ADVERTISED, IN FACT IT IS 40% LOWER THEN ADVERTISED). THIS IS A CLEAR CASE OF FALSE ADVERTISING FROM HONDA. WE WENT TO OURISMAN HONDA AND THEY DID SOME CHECKS, WHICH ALL CAME BACK NEGATIVE. THEY DROVE THE CAR ONCE ON THE HIGHWAY TO GET THE MILEAGE FOR THE HIGHWAY, WHICH WAS LITTLE OVER 22 MPG. WE DON'T DISPUTE THE FACT THAT THE MILEAGE ON THE HIGHWAY IS BETTER THEN IN THE CITY, BUT UNFORTUNATELY WE DO LIVE IN THE CITY AND THIS IS OUR MAIN PLACE FOR DRIVING OUR CAR. BUT AS YOU CAN SEE BY LOOKING AT THE NUMBERS, THE CAR IS UNDERPERFORMING IN MPGS THROUGH ALL THE LEVELS OF DRIVING (CITY, HIGHWAY AND OVERALL). THE DEALER ALSO MENTIONED THE 5000 MILES ?BREAK-IN PERIOD, AFTER WHICH WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE THE REAL MPG. TO BEGIN WITH, NOBODY MENTIONED THAT BEFORE WE BOUGHT THE CAR. SECOND, IT IS NOT MENTIONED IN THE OFFICIAL HONDA BROCHURES, WHICH CAME WITH THE CAR. IF WE WOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS BREAK IN PERIOD, WE WOULD HAVE NEVER BOUGHT THE CAR IN THE FIRST PLACE. AGAIN, HONDA IS HIDING SOME IMPORTANT FACTS. *TR
THIS IS THE THIRD WINTER WITH OUR 2007 HONDA CR-V AND THERE IS A HUGE DESIGN FLAW AFFECTING THE PROPER FUNCTIONING OF THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS DURING PRECIPITATION IN COLD WEATHER. THE SNOW AND ICE BUILDS UP IN THE LARGE WELL BENEATH THE WIPER BLADES,CAUSING THE WIPER BLADES TO GET STUCK ON THIS SNOW AND ICE, AS WELL AS THE FROZEN PRECIPITATION STICKING TO THE WIPER BLADES. WE HAVE TO CONSTANTLY STOP, GET OUT OF THE CAR AND BREAK UP THE ICE AND SNOW FROM THE WELL AND THE WIPER BLADES IN ORDER FOR THEM TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY AND SAFELY. IT'S OUTRAGEOUS THAT A CAR THAT CAN BE PURCHASED WITH 4WD, CLEARLY MEANT TO BE DRIVEN IN SNOWY AREAS, WOULD HAVE THIS SEVERE DESIGN FLAW! HONDA REALLY NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS FLAW WITH A DESIGN SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM THAT CAN BE INSTALLED ON THIS CAR! *TR

A DEFECTIVE MADE, BRAND NEW HONDA 2007 MODEL CR-V HAD A DEFECTIVE OIL SEAL FROM THE FACTORY. IT WAS SOLD BY HONDA OF SERRAMONTE AT 485 SERRAMONTE BLVD., COLMA CITY, CA, 94014, (650) 758-4800 AT 16 MILES. LUCKILY, WE DID NOT GO TOO FAR AWAY--OTHERWISE, THE CAR WOULD HAVE STALLED ON THE FREEWAY WHEN OIL HAD BEEN DRAINED, WOULD LEADING TO AN FATAL ACCIDENT! WE HAD IT FOR ONLY 2 HOURS, FROM 6 TO 8 PM. ON NOV. 16, 2006, FROM THE DEALERSHIP TO DINNER. AFTER DINNER, WE FOUND A TRAIL OF OIL WAS COMING INTO THE GARAGE AND UNDER THE CAR ALL WAY TO THE ENGINE. THE NEXT MORNING, NOV. 17, 2006, THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO DEALER WITH A READING OF 51 MILES. THEY CASHED OUT OUR MONEY, $22,000 AND GAVE US A BROKEN CAR. AT THE DEALERSHIP, WE WERE NOT ABLE TO REACH THE MANAGER. AFTER 45 MINUTES SAD, ANGRY AND HELPLESSLY WAITING IN THE DEALERSHIP. WE HAD CONTACTED THE MAIN HONDA CUSTOMER OFFICE. FROM 10 AM TO 1:30 PM, WE WERE VERY FRUSTRATED. (1) THAT CR-V WAS MADE DEFECTIVELY. (2) IF OIL WAS LEAKING ALL OUT. IT IS A LIFE OR DEATH MATTER ON THE ROAD! (3) ORIGINALLY, OPERATION OF 2007 CR-V HAD CAUSED SOME DAMAGE. SOME PARTS HAD TO BE REPLACED. (4) IT MAY BE DEFECTIVE IN SOME OTHER PARTS. WE WERE AFRAID TO TAKE THAT DEFECTIVE CAR ON THE ROAD. (5) IT'S NOT A NEW CAR ANY MORE. THE LEAKING WILL AFFECTED AND DAMAGED SOME OTHER PARTS. A LOT OF PARTS WERE TAKEN APART TO MAKE REPAIRS. THEIR INSPECTIONS HAD FAILED BEFORE. (6) THE INSPECTOR HAD FAILED TO FIND THE PROBLEM. [IT WAS MADE DEFECTIVE IN FACTORY.] (7) THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS POOR. ON 11/17/2006, WE WERE LET WAITING TILL AFTER ALMOST AN HOUR HAD PASSED, AND THE HONDA MAIN OFFICE WAS CONTACTED. (8) THEY WERE UNWILLING TO SATISFY OUR REQUEST [THEY REFUSED TO REPLACED IT WITH ANOTHER ONE]. NEITHER HONDA AND DEALERSHIP, THEY DO NOT WANT TO TAKE CARE OF US. (9) ALSO THEY WANT TO MAKE PROFIT BY TAKING IT BACK FOR LESS THAN WE HAD PAY FOR. *JB
