THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL. OUR VEHICLE WAS RECALLED IN MAY OF 2016 FOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG. HONDA LEASED A VEHICLE TO DRIVE UNTIL OUR CAR WAS REPAIRED. APPX. 1 1/2 MONTHS. WE JUST RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE SAME VEHICLE STATING THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG MUST BE REPLACED. HONDA IS REFUSING TO SUPPLY A VEHICLE THIS TIME STATING THAT NO ONE SHOULD RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE BAG HAS BEEN REPLACED. POSSIBLY SOMETIME IN THE FALL OF THIS YEAR. THEY STATED THAT IF WE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED IT COULD CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH. THAIR REMEDY IS TO HAVE ONE OF US TO SET IN THE BACK SEAT WHILE THE OTHER DRIVES. IF WE HAVE MORE THEN FOUR PEOPLE, WE SHOULD DRIVE TWO CARS. CAN ANYONE HELP US WITH THIS SITUATION?

FOR A COUPLE YEARS, MY BACK PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HAS HAD A LOCK ISSUE. IN ORDER TO OPEN THE DOOR, I MUST HIT THE "UNLOCK" BUTTON AT THE EXACT MOMENT SOMEONE GOES TO OPEN THE DOOR - OTHERWISE THE LOCK SLIDES BACK TO LOCKED POSITION WITHIN SECONDS. YESTERDAY, MY BACK DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCKED ITSELF, AND I AM UNABLE TO UNLOCK IT IN ANY WAY, INCLUDING MANUALLY. THE LOCK IS JAMMED AND THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. ABOUT AN HOUR AFTER NOTICING THIS ISSUE, I TRIED TO OPEN MY BACK HATCH, AND IT TOO IS PERMANENTLY LOCKED SHUT. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A 2014 CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ABOUT THESE ISSUES, WHICH I WAS NOT INFORMED OF. I RECEIVED NO NOTIFICATION IN THE MAIL ABOUT THIS. THE CLAIM PERIOD HAS SINCE ENDED, DESPITE THIS BEING AN ONGOING AND WIDESPREAD DEFECT, AND HONDA REFUSES TO COVER THE COSTS TO FIX THIS ISSUE. FURTHERMORE, THIS PRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE, AS A PASSENGER COULD BE LOCKED IN THE CAR AT ANY TIME - INCLUDING AN EMERGENCY SITUATION IN WHICH THE CAR MAY BE ON FIRE. I HAVE EVEN FOUND ON A FORUM A STORY OF A WOMAN WHOSE ENTIRE CAR PERMANENTLY LOCKED ITSELF WITH A CHILD INSIDE.

AT THE TIME THEY REPLACED MY DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG THEY ALSO REPLACED THE DRIVER SIDE ACTUATOR FOR LOCKING THE DOOR PER AN ACTIVE RECALL AND AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP IN STATESVILLE NC MY DOORS IMMEDIATELY BEGAN LOCKING AND UNLOCKING, I CONTACTED THE DEALER WHO DID ORIGINAL REPAIR AND SAID THEY CAN DO NOTHING FOR PASSENGER SIDE, MY CAR WILL NOW NOT LOCK AND RANDOMLY LOCKS AND UNLOCKS THE DOORS, THIS WAS NOT OCCURRING BEFORE DRIVER SIDE WAS REPAIRED. PLEASE HELP, OBVIOUSLY THE PASSENGER SIDE ACTUATOR IS FAULTY TOO. I APPRECIATE YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER. I CAN NO LONGER LOCK MY PASSENGER SIDE DOORS. TAKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL FROM HONDA CONCERNING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. HONDA STATED PARTS WOULDN'T BE AVAILABLE UNTIL LATE SUMMER/FALL. THE PROPOSED SOLUTION BY HONDA "AVOID HAVING A PASSENGER SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT UNTIL RECALL IS REPAIRED" IS NOT A REALISTIC SOLUTION. I TRANSPORT MULTIPLE PASSENGERS AND NEED TO HAVE SOMEONE SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT. I CALLED HONDA AUTOMOBILE CUSTOMER SERVICE ON 7/26/16 TO REQUEST AN ALTERNATE VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD A CASE MANGER WOULD CALL ME WITHIN 2-3 BUSINESS DAYS. THEY ALSO STATED THEY WOULD ESCALATE MY REQUEST SO THAT I COULD GET A RESPONSE SOONER. I'VE MADE FOUR MORE CALLS SINCE THE INITIAL ONE WITH THE LATEST BEING ON 8/6/16. EACH TIME THE HONDA REP SAID THEY WOULD ESCALATE MY CASE FOR A QUICKER RESPONSE BUT CASE MANGERS ARE OVERLOADED. AS OF TODAY, 8/8/16, I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE FIRST CALL FROM A CASE MANGER CONCERNING THE REQUEST FOR AN ALTERNATE VEHICLE. THIS IS TOTAL UNSAT AND I'M SURE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS ISSUE WITH HONDA. HONDA'S LACK OF PROPER PLANNING TO HANDLE THE RESPONSE TO THE SAFETY RECALL THEY SENT OUT IS CAUSING A HARDSHIP FOR THOSE THAT NEED TO USE THE PASSENGER'S SEAT. HONDA SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO HIRE MORE CASE MANGERS AND WORK OFF THE BACKLOG OF REQUEST SOONEST. THEY SHOULD ALSO BE DIRECTED TO HAVE A CASE MANGER CALL ME CONCERNING MY REQUEST. HAD CAR FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH RECEIVED SECOND NOTICE FOR PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG ON 07/2016 FIX WONT BE AVAILABLE TIL LATE SUMMER EARLY FALL. RECOMMEND NOT TO TRANSPORT PASSENGER IN FRONT SEAT. I REQUESTED A LOANER APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS AGO AND WAS RECENTLY INFORMED THAT THE REQUEST WAS SENT TO THE ESCALATION DEPARTMENT AND THAT THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THEY GET TO MY REQUEST. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I NEEDED THE SPACE AND NOT BEING ABLE TO TRANSPORT ANYONE IN THE FRONT SEAT MAKES MY CARE UNUSABLE. HONDA HAD ME PARK MY CAR FOR 2 MONTHS UNTIL THEY RECEIVED THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAGS AND I KNOW THAT WHILE THEY WERE WAITING FOR THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAGS TO BE REPAIRED HONDA KNEW THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS WERE DEFECTIVE AS WELL. I STRONGLY FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD PROVIDED A LOANER UNTIL THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETE OR BUY BACK MY CAR FOR A FAIR PRICE. WHEN I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE I BOUGHT A FOUR SEAT CAR NOT THREE.
JULY 2016, NOTIFED BY MAIL FROM HONDA OF THE RECALL. JULY 26, 2016 TELEPHONED LOCAL DEALER AND WAS TOLD VEHCICLE AND PARTS WERE ON A WAITING LIST. TELEPHONED AGAIN, SEPTEMBER 9, 2016 AND TOLD THE SAME THING. TELEPHONED OCTOBER 21, AGAIN SAME STORY. INTIAL LETTER STATES THE REPAIR ON RECALL SHOLD BE DONE WITHIN A RESAONABLE TIME FRAME OF 60 DAYS. IT HAS BEEN CLOSE TO 120 DAYS.
WE WERE NOTIFIED THAT OUR FRONT DRIVERS AIRBAG WAS UNDER A RECALL AND WOULD BE FIXED SUMMER, NOTHING YET AND NOW WE RECIEVED A LETTER ABOUT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL. THEIR ADVICE IS TO NOT HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT DUE TO HEALTH ISSUES THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE SINCE I CAN NOT RIDE IN THE BACK OF THE CAR. WE FEEL WE SHOULD BE PROVIDED A LIKE RENTAL VEHICLE AT NOW CHARGE TO US UNTIL THIS ISSUE IS FIXED.
TAKATA RECALL - IT HAS BEEN OVER 3 MONTHS SINCE MY FIRST HONDA NOTICE REGARDING THIS RECALL, AND I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED BY MY AUTO NATION HONDA FREMONT DEALER TO INSTALL THE PASSANGER SIDE AIRBAG FIX. NOW I JUST RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HONDA RECOMMENDING I NOT ALLOW A PASSENGER TO SIT IN THE FRONT SEAT UNTIL THE RECALL REPAIR IS INSTALLED. ALL ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THE DEALER FOR INFORMATION AND SCHEDULING FOR THE REPAIR HAVE FAILED.

TAKATA RECALL HI MY 2007 CAR-V HAS THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEFECTIVE AND I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM HONDA ABOUT THAT. AFTER ATTEMPTING TO CONTACT SEVERAL DEALERS IN THE AREA ONLY ONE RESPONDED AND PUT MY NAME ON THE WAITING LIST FOR THE AIRBAG AS THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. THE DEALER DENIED MY REQUEST FOR A REPLACEMENT LOANER CAR, ON THE BASIS THE THE CAR CAN STILL BE DRIVEN, AND SUGGESTED ME TO CALL HONDA FOR SUCH REQUEST. I CONTACTED HONDA ON THE FOLLOWING DAYS: - 7/25/2016 AT 9:30 AM - 8/13/2016 AT 11:00 AM - 8/19/2016 AT 9:50 AM ON ALL OF THE ABOVE OCCASION I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT A MANAGER WOULD CALL ME BUT NO ONE DID ONLY AT THE THIRD ATTEMPT I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A CASE NUMBER=04940077 ON ALL SUCH PHONE CALL I HAVE REQUESTED : - TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG OR - PROVIDE A CAR LOANER WHILE MY CAR IS PARKED AND NOT ALLOWED TO BE DRIVEN BECAUSE OF MEDICAL REASON AS MY WIFE IS GETTING SEVERELY SICK , WHEN SEATED IN THE BACK , AND ALSO BECAUSE THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR THAT DEACTIVATE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS MALFUNCTIONING, NOT DISABLING THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT WHEN NO ONE IS SEATED ON IT. HONDA NEVER CALLED ME BACK, EVER. THE DEALER STATES THAT NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO ALLOW THE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT.
BY TODAY, OCT. 9, 2016, THE AMERICAN HONDA OR DEALER HAS NOT REPLACED THE DEFECT AIRBAG AFTER TWO MONTHS SINCE I CONTACTED A DEALER ABOUT ITS RECALL FOR A FEW TIMES IN THE PAST TWO MONTHS.
TAKATA RECALL NOTIFIED IN FEB 2016. NUMEROUS CALLS TO DEALER AND HONDA USA BUT THEY STILL HAVEN'T REPAIRED DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG
TAKATA RECALL RECEIVED NOTICE MARCH 2016 ADVISING OF RECALL. CONTACTED 2 DEALERS TO DISCUSS THE SAFETY HAZARD AND WHEN THE PARTS ARE DUE IN. ONE DEALER STATED SAME AS WRITTEN ON NOTICE (PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN SUMMER 2016) AND I WOULD RECEIVE A NOTICE IN SUMMER TO BRING IN MY VEHICLE. THE OTHER DEALER STATE THAT EVEN THOUGH THE NOTICE SAID SUMMER HE THOUGHT THERE WAS NO WAY THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE. I VOICED MY CONCERN AS THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE FOR MY HOUSEHOLD AND I NEEDED TO ENSURE IT WAS SAFE. REVIVED SECOND NOTICE JULY 23, 2016 STATING PARTS WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL LATE SUMMER/EARLY FALL. IT ALSO STATED THAT HONDA SUGGESTS THAT I AVOID HAVING A PASSENGER SIT IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE RECALL REPAIR HAS BEEN MADE. THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE AND I TRANSPORT MORE THAN 3 PASSENGERS. AS WELL MY TEEN IS LEARNING TO DRIVE WHICH REQUIRES A PERSON IN PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. I FEEL HONDA IS NOT MOVING FORWARD IN A RESPONSIBLE MANNER TO PROTECT ITS DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS.

I HAVE HAD A FEW INSTANCES WHERE MY 2007 HONDA CR-V MOVES IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION AND MY CAR ROLLS AFTER IT IS IN THE 'PARK' GEAR. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT I WAS NOT ON ANY HILL OR INCLINE AND THE LAND WAS FLAT. THESE INSTANCES TOOK PLACE ON A CITY STREET. ON JULY 23, 2016 I WAS LEAVING FROM WORK. I TURNED MY CAR ON AND PUT MY CAR INTO 'DRIVE' BUT IT STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS INSTEAD. I IMMEDIATELY PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND TURNED MY CAR OFF. AFTER DOING THIS, THE PROBLEM RESOLVED ITSELF. ON OCTOBER 6, 2016 I TURNED MY CAR ON AND PUT IT IN 'REVERSE' BUT MY CAR STARTED ROLLING FORWARD INSTEAD. I PUT THE GEAR INTO 'PARK' AND MY CAR KEPT ROLLING FORWARD! I IMMEDIATELY STEPPED ON MY BRAKES AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. A FEW MINUTES LATER I TRIED TO PUT MY CAR INTO 'REVERSE' AGAIN, BUT IT STILL ROLLED FORWARD. MY COMPLAINT OF MY CAR ROLLING WHILE IT IS IN THE 'PARK' GEAR IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO RECALL NUMBER 11V395000 FROM 08/04/2011, BUT THE SERVICE CENTER AT ADVANTAGE HONDA DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT MY CAR IS PART OF THIS RECALL. IN THIS RECALL, THE OUTER RACE OF THE SECONDARY SHAFT BEARING MAY BE BROKEN DURING CERTAIN DRIVING STYLES. AS A CONSEQUENCE, THE RECALL STATES: 'ADDITIONALLY, BROKEN PIECES OF THE OUTER RACE OR BALL BEARING FROM THE SECONDARY SHAFT MAY BECOME LODGED IN THE PARKING PAWL RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE ROLLING AFTER THE DRIVER HAS PLACED THE GEAR SELECTOR IN THE PARK POSITION.' THE PROBLEM I HAVE EXPERIENCED WITH MY CAR THREE TIMES IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT HAPPENS SPONTANEOUSLY WITHOUT ANY WARNING.

FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LOCK MECHANISM FAILURE PREVENTS NORMAL OPERATION OF THE MANUAL LOCK CONTROL AND LOCKS PASSENGERS INTO THE VEHICLE. WITH THE FAILURE, THE MANUAL LOCK CONTROL HAS HIGH MECHANICAL RESISTANCE AND IMMEDIATELY RETURNS TO THE LOCK POSITION AFTER ATTEMPTING TO UNLOCK. THIS POWER LOCK FAILURE IS NOT NOT FAIL SAFE, AND CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD AS IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO UNLOCK AND THEN OPEN THE DOOR BEFORE THE DOOR LOCKS ITSELF. HOWDY HONDA DEALERSHIP HERE IN AUSTIN TEXAS WAS ABLE TO HAVE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR ACTUATOR REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. THE BACK DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS WILL NOT LOCK. THE NEW ACTUATOR WAS GOING OFF CONTINUOUS IN ATTEMPT TO LOCK THE BACK DOORS. I TOOK BACK TO HOWDY HONDA, THEY SAID THEY WOULD REPROGRAM MY KEY TO STOP IT FROM TRYING TO CONTINUOUSLY LOCK THE BACK DOORS AS IT WAS APPARENT THAT THE NEW ACTUATOR WOULD WEAR OUT RAPIDLY FROM DOING THIS.. IF I AM DRIVING AND STOP AT A LIGHT OR CROSSING, ANYONE CAN JUST OPEN THE BACK DOOR AND HOP INSIDE MY CAR AND CAR JACK ME. ALSO, WITH THESE DOORS NOT LOCKING I CANNOT SET THE ALARM. I WAS TOLD THAT SOMEONE WOULD BE CALLING ME BACK WITHIN A WEEK AND TO ANSWER MY PHONE IF I RECEIVED AN UNKNOWN CALLER NUMBER. I CALLED YET AGAIN ON 8/14 AND WAS TOLD THAT I STILL HAD NOT BEEN ASSIGNED A CASE MANAGER. I AM BAFFLED THAT NO ONE IS RESPONDING TO ME OR GIVING ME AN UPDATE REGARDING MY UNSAFE CAR. I PURCHASED THIS CAR BASED ON THE REPUTATION OF HONDA AND FOR THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THE CAR CAN SEAT. I USUALLY ALWAYS HAVE A PASSENGER SITTING IN MY PASSENGER SEAT. I DO NOT HAVE ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION. I WAS EVEN ASKED BY DCH HONDA IF I HAD ANOTHER CAR I COULD DRIVE DURING THE RECALL PERIOD....NO, I DON'T. HONDA IS DRAGGING THEIR FEET IN ADDRESSING THEIR CUSTOMERS REAL CONCERNS REGARDING THE SAFETY OF THEIR VEHICLES. HONDA SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING FOR A RENTAL CAR FOR ITS CUSTOMERS WHO ARE REQUESTING THEM DUE TO THE DANGER THEY HAVE PLACED US IN. HELP!!!!
