HELLO MY NAME IS [XXX], I HAVE A 2008 CRV HONDA. THE SEATS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE & DRIVER SIDE ARE DISINTEGRATING IN THE HONDA UNDER NEIGH! THERE IS FOAM PIECES FALLING UNDER THE SEATS ON TO THE FLOOR. I HAVE CLOTH SEATS. SINCE THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON THE VERY SIDE OF THE SEAT IS COLLAPSING. MY WIFE SAYS SHE FILLS LIKE THE SEAT IS GETTING VERY LOW. . PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM. THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. THEY LOCK AND UNLOCK SEVERAL TIMES WHILE I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE. WHEN I PARK, I AM UNABLE TO LOCK MY CAR SECURELY. I ALSO HAVE DIFFICULTY UNLOCKING THE DOORS AT TIMES. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD. *TR
LOCKING ACTUATOR DOES NOT ENGAGED. WHEN TRYING TO LOCK THE DOOR MANUALLY THE ACTUATOR WILL AUTOMATIC UNLOCK THE DOORS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. AFTER SOME RESEARCH THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH HONDA, AND HONDA WILL NOT SEE THIS AS A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
I HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER AND BOUGHT MY 2008 HONDA CR-V BRAND NEW. I TAKE MY OIL CHANGE TO HONDA DEALERSHIP THINKING THEY WOULD ADVISE ME IF THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY CAR. ALSO, TO HELP ENSURE I DO PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE WITH MY VEHICLE. I LIVE IN TEXAS AND IT GETS VERY HOT HERE. I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL NOW, WHEN THE WEATHER STARTS GETTING COOLER. I STARTED HEARING A "CLICKING NOISE" WHENEVER I TURN MY WHEEL TO THE RIGHT, ESPECIALLY IN A COLD MORNING. IT DIDN'T USE TO MAKE THAT NOISE WHENEVER IT GETS HOT IN THE AFTERNOON. BUT THEN, THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS THE NOISE IS NOW PRETTY MUCH PERMANENT. I TRIED TAKING MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, I HAVE 44K ON IT. BUT THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $75 TO DO A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. I ASKED THEM IF THEY CAN WAIVE IT SINCE I'VE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS. THEY WOULDN'T BUDGE. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I WENT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP TO TAKE A LOOK. THEY SAID I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY RACK AND PINION. MY CAR IS PRETTY BRAND NEW, I HAD HIGH HOPES WHEN IT COMES TO HONDA VEHICLES. I'VE HAD A HONDA ACCORD AND AN ACURA TL IN THE PAST. FOR SOME REASON, MY HONDA CR-V IS HAVING A LOT OF MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. THE STEERING WHEEL IS A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
WHILE THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING OR NOT THE DRIVER'S SIDE LOCK UNLOCKS ITSELF! IT UNLOCKS ITSELF WHILE THE CAR IS IN DRIVE, WHEN IT IS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT, AND WHEN IT IS IN PARK. I CANNOT LOCK THE CAR WITH THE REMOTE FROM THE OUTSIDE, AND WHEN I MANUALLY LOCK THE CAR WHILE ON THE INSIDE, IT UNLOCKS ITSELF! *TR
UNABLE TO LOCK REAR DOORS WHEN IN PARK. REAR DOORS LOCK AND UNLOCK SPONTANEOUSLY WHEN IN DRIVE. WHEN DOORS LOCK SPONTANEOUSLY, UNABLE TO OPEN DOORS FROM INSIDE EVEN WHEN IN PARK. *TR
AS SOON AS YOU WOULD UNLOCK THE AUTOMATIC DOORS LOCKS - THE FRONT DRIVER DOOR, IT WOULD QUICKLY LOCK BACK UP, YOU HAD TO FORCE IT TO UNLOCK ONCE IT LOCKED ON ITS OWN, YOU CAN USE THE CLICKER OR THE UNLOCK BUTTON, BUT YOU HAD TO BE VERY QUICK TO BE ABLE TO UNLOCK IT - YOU HAD TO HAVE YOUR ONE HAND ON THE DOOR HANDLE AND THE OTHER HAND ON THE UNLOCK BUTTON - OR ELSE YOU CAN'T GET OUT THAT DOOR. ONCE YOU GET TO SPEEDS OF 5 MPH THE DOORS WILL AUTOMATICALLY LOCK, THE BACK DRIVER DOOR STARTED TO SLOWLY UNLOCK WHILE DRIVING, WHILE THE CAR WAS STOPPED, IT WOULD LOCK ONCE YOU GOT TO THE 5 MPH BUT THEN START UNLOCKING AGAIN. I REPLACED THE ACTUATORS FOR THE DRIVER SIDE DOORS AND NOW THE PASSENGER BACK DOOR LOCK STARTED MAKING NOISES AND IS STARTING TO UNLOCK ON ITS OWN. CALLED HONDA AND THEY SAID IT MUST HAPPEN OFTEN BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE PARTS FOR IT. I ASKED IF THERE WAS A RECALL AND THEY SAID NO, SO I HAD TO PURCHASE THE PARTS. *TR
DRIVER SIDE DOOR DOES NOT LOCK AT ALL. FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS IMMEDIATELY AFTER PRESSING UNLOCK. ALL DOORS LOCK AND UNLOCK WHILE DRIVING. IT STARTED ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO AND WAS WORSE IN WARM WEATHER. NOW, IT'S JUST BAD ALL THE TIME. IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE IF I CAN'T LOCK THE CAR EVEN WITH THE KEY IN THE DRIVER'S DOOR. MY WIFE AND I ARE THE ORIGINAL OWNERS. *JS
THE FIRST INCIDENT WAS ON OR ABOUT OCTOBER 15, 2012. I ALWAYS PARK MY CAR IN THE GARAGE. SO, I RARELY LOCK THE CAR DOOR. WHEN I CAME BACK TO THE CAR TO GET GROCERIES OUT, THE CAR DOORS WERE LOCKED. I CAME BACK TO THE CAR WITH THE REMOTE TO UNLOCK THE DOORS. I GOT SOME OF THE GROCERIES OUT AND WAS CARRYING THEM UP STAIRS, WHEN I HEARD THE DOOR LOCK SOUND. WHEN I CAME BACK TO THE CAR FOR THE REST OF THE GROCERIES, THE DOORS WERE LOCKED AGAIN. I HAD TO RETRIEVE THE REMOTE FROM THE HOUSE, TO UNLOCK THE CAR DOORS AGAIN. THERE HAS BEEN INTERMITTEN OCCURENCES WHEN I HAVE FOUND THE DOORS LOCKED WHEN I RETURN TO THE CAR. I HAVE NOTICE THESE OCCURENCES HAPPEN WHEN I AM AT HOME BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONLY TIME I LEAVE THE CAR UNLOCKED INSIDE A LOCKED GARAGE. MY MOST RECENT OCCURENCE HAPPENED LAST FRIDAY, APRIL 19, 2013. I HAD PULLED INTO THE GARAGE. THIS TIME I LOCKED THE CAR BY MISTAKE WITH THE DOOR LOCK LOCATED DIRECTLY UNDER THE WINDOW (NOT ON THE ROCKER PANEL). I UNLOCKED THE CAR WITH THE REMOTE. WITHIN LESS THAN A MINUTE THE CAR LOCKED BY ITSELF. THIS TIME I HAD NOT GONE IMMEDIATELY UPSTAIRS. I WAS STILL STANDING THERE. *TR
THE LOCKS ON THE HONDA CR-V 2008 ARE DEFECTIVE AND CAN POSE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. THE LOCKS ON THE DOOR LOCK AT WILL, WON'T UNLOCK WHEN I TRY TO UNLOCK THEM, AND LOCK WHILE I'M DRIVING AND/OR PUTTING THE REVERSE. PASSENGERS CANNOT GET OUT OF THE CAR, EVEN AFTER I PRESS THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON BOTH THE DOOR AND THE KEY. I FEAR THAT MY TODDLER IS GOING TO GET LOCKED INTO THE VEHICLE AND/OR TRAPPED IN IF WE ARE IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM THAT STARTED JUST A FEW MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AND MANY OTHER HONDA CR-V OWNERS ARE REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE, YET HONDA HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THESE DEFECTIVE LOCKS. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AS A SAFETY ISSUE AND URGE THEM TO RECALL THESE LOCKS. *TR
THE DOOR ACTUATOR WENT OUT FIRST ON MY PASSENGER FRONT DOOR AND AUTOMATICALLY LOCKS NOW EVERY TIME I STOP THE ACTUATORS CYCLES ON ALL 4 DOORS AND TRIES TO RELOCK. THIS IS VERY ANNOYING AND ALSO I LIKE TO ADD PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE BLACK CHROME RIMS MINE ARE PEELING SOLID CHROME IS NOT SUPPOSED TO PEEL SO THAT WAS $3000 WASTED. *TR
I WAS SLOWLY APPROACHING THE STORE FRONT TO THE ESTABLISHMENT THAT I WAS GOING TO ENTER. I BRAKED AND THE AUTOMOBILE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AND WOULD NOT STOP UNTIL THE IT CLIMBED THE CURB AND DROVE INTO THE STORES FRONT DOOR. THIS CAUSED QUITE A BIT OF DAMAGE TO THE STORE AND I WAS INJURED AND TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. I WAS EXAMINED AND TEST AND X-RAYS WERE TAKEN INDICATING THAT I HAD FRACTURED MY STERNUM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED WHEN TURNING THE IGNITION SWITCH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE BEFORE STARING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE STARTER MOTOR AND THE WIRING CABLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000. ..UPDATED 08/11/14 *BF UPDATED 08/19/2014 *JS
THE DOOR ACTUATOR ON THE FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE STARTED TO ACT UP. AT FIRST WHEN LOCKING THE DOOR, THE DOOR SLOWLY UNLOCK ITSELF, BUT OVER THE PERIOD OF COUPLE OF DAYS THE DOOR STARTED TO MAKE JAMMING MECHANISM NOISE (CLICK, CLICK, CLICK...). NOW EVERY TIME WHEN I DRIVE, THE CAR DOORS MECHANISM DOES NOT SENSE THAT THE DOOR IS LOCKED, AND ALWAYS GET JAMMED TRYING TO LOCK THE DOOR (EVEN THOUGH THE DOORS ALREADY IS LOCKED).
REAR PASSANGER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED AT 45K FRONT PASSANGER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED AT 68K. *TR
FRONT PASSANGER DOOR LOCK WILL BRIEFLY UNLOCK THEN ON ITS OWN LOCK ITSELF. YOU HAVE TO FORCE THE DOOR LOCK OPEN JUST TO GET OUT AND ONCE THE LOCK OPENS IT SLOWLY LOCKS ITSELF. THE KEY FOB AND LOCK SWITCH WILL BRIEFLY UNLOCK THE LATCH. (WE DO HAVE FACTORY INSTALLED ALARM). MY WIFE ALSO NOTICED DOME LIGHT NO LONGER COMING ON (MIGHT JUST BE DEAD BULB). THIS COULD BE A HUGE ISSUE IN AN ACCIDENT IF PASSENGER OR EMERGENCY PERSONAL ARE UNABLE TO OPEN DOOR DUE TO LOCK ALWAYS LOCKING ITSELF. A LOT OF FORCE IS NEEDED TO UNLOCK THE DOOR. IT SEEMS LIKE THE DOOR ACTUATOR IS GETTING A LOCK SIGNAL AND STAYING IN THE LOCKED POSITION. AGAIN YOU CAN MOMENTARILY MANUALLY FORCE THE DOOR LOCK OPEN AND WITH THE SWITCH/KEYFOB. RECENT REPAIRS: WE DID RECENTLY REPLACE THE CAR BATTERY BECAUSE THE CAR LOST ELECTRICAL POWER (CAR WOULD NOT START). WE ALSO JUST REPLACED THE AC/HEATER BLOWER MOTOR BECAUSE WHEN THE HVAC WAS POWERED ON WE HEARD VERY LOUD WHIRLING/CLICKING NOISE. WE ALSO JUST CHANGED ALL FOUR STRUTS BECAUSE THEY WERE LEAKING BUT NO ELECTRICAL WAS TOUCHED DURING THIS REPAIR. *TR
VEHICLE DOOR LOCKS IMMEDIATELY RELOCK THEMSELVES WHEN TRYING TO UNLOCK CAR. SOMETIMES IT KEEPS ME TRAPPED IN THE CAR TRYING TO OPEN THE DOOR FAST ENOUGH BEFORE IT RELOCKS ITSELF. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY AND NEED TO EVACUATE CAR. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ON THE INTERSTATE 635 IN DALLAS TX AREA , THE DOOR SUDDENLY UNLOCKED AUTOMATICALLY (DRIVER SIDE AND DRIVER SIDE REAR) AND I FELT THE DOORS OPENED A BIT AS I CAN FEEL SOME VIBRATION NOISE AND THE AIR NOISE THRO THE SMALL GAP , THIS IS SO RISKY , BUT THE REASON IAM COMPLAINING THIS WAS LOOKS LIKE A VERY GENERIC ISSUE IN THE CRV'S AND HONDA REALLY REFUSES TO ADDRESS IT , I WOULD LIKE THEM TO HAVE A LOOK AT IT BEFORE ITS TOO LATE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WHILE DRIVING, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR UNLOCKED INDEPENDENTLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
IN AUGUST OF 2012, THE RIGHT REAR DOOR LOCK WOULD NOT STAY LOCKED. WE HAD THE FAULTY PART REPLACED. NOW IN JUNE OF 2013, WE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE RIGHT FRONT DOOR LOCK. IT BEGAN BY NOT STAYING UNLOCKED. WHEN UNLOCKED THE DOOR BY ( ANY METHOD), THE LOCK WOULD ONLY STAY UNLOCKED FOR LESS THAN A SECOND BEFORE RELOCKING ON ITS OWN. NOW THE PROBLEM HAS CHANGED TO WHERE THE DOOR WILL NOT STAY LOCKED AS IN THE PROBLEM DOOR LOCK FROM LAST YEAR. THE DOOR CONTINUES TO TRY TO LOCK EACH TIME THE VEHICLE REACHES THE SPEED THAT THE DOORS LOCK AUTOMATICALLY. *TR
THE VEHICLES BRAKES ARE HORRIBLE, IT THE FRONT ROTORS MOSTLY, THEY DETERIORATE VERY QUICKLY ALONG WITH THE HIGH QUALITY BRAKE PADS. I REPLACED THE ROTORS AT 70,000 AND THEY ARE ALREADY GETTING DAMAGED . THERE HAS BEEN AN UNSETTLING VIBRATION IN THE BRAKING/STEERING SYSTEM SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR . I AM CONVINCED THAT HONDA NO LONGER MAKES QUALITY VEHICLES AND THE SOONER THEY STOP MAKING CARS THE BETTER. AT 25,000 MILES WE HAD THE AC CLUTCH START TO SLIP ON US WHILE WE WERE IN ABOUT 120'F TEMPS IN BON OUR WAY TO BULLHEAD CITY. WE ARRIVED COMPLETELY SOAKED IN SWEAT AND WITH THE BEGINNING STAGES OF CHAPPED LIPS FROM THE HOT AIR BLOWING FROM THE AC. WE HAD AN AIR LEAK IN THE MOON ROOF SINCE WE BOUGHT IT, ALL HONDA DID WAS MAKE US WASTE OUR TIME WHILE THE MICKEY MOUSED THE SEAL, ON THE WAY HOME FROM THE DEALERS AFTER THEY SUPPOSEDLY FIXED IT ,IT STARTED MAKING THE WHISTLE AGAIN AFTER I OPENED AND CLOSED IT. I HAD GREASE PRINTS ALL OVER THE HEAD LINER FROM THAT EXPERIENCE.THE LEATHER ARM REST STARTED BUBBLING AND PEELING ABOUT A YEAR AFTER THE PURCHASE, IT LOOKS HORRIBLE . I HAVE HAD BETTER USED CARS THEN THIS. I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY ABOUT HONDA EXCEPT IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE AND YOUR FAMILIES LIFE AND VALUE WHAT YOU BUY WITH YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY . THEN DON'T EVER EVER BUY A HONDA. THEY DESERVE TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS AND BE SUED BY EVERY PERSON THAT EVER BOUGHT FROM THEM . *TR
THE FIRST PROBLEM UNCOVERED: THE DRIVER'S DOOR CANNOT BE MANUALLY UNLOCKED WITH A KEY. MY DAUGHTER DROVE THE CAR TO A CONCERT USING THE VALET KEY AND DISCOVERED AT MIDNIGHT THAT SHE COULDN'T ENTER THE CAR. AFTER FAMILY ARRIVED WITH ELECTRONIC KEY IT WAS DETERMINED THAT IT WOULD NOT MANUALLY OPEN THE DOOR EITHER. FOLLOWING THAT INCIDENT WE NOTICED THE DRIVER'S DOOR WILL RANDOMLY RE-LOCK ITSELF AFTER THE IGNITION IS TURNED OFF AND THE DOOR HAS INITIALLY UNLOCKED. THE LOCKING SYSTEM SOMETIMES MAKES A "WHIRRING" WHEN ENGAGED. THE LATEST DEVELOPMENT: THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR AND THE HATCH REFUSED TO UNLOCK USING EITHER THE ELECTRONIC KEY OR THE DRIVER DOOR CONTROLS. ALSO, THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR COULDN'T BE OPENED MANUALLY USING THE BUTTON ON THE DOOR ITSELF- IT WOULDN'T BUDGE! THE NEXT DAY, THE PROBLEM FIXED ITSELF... AT LEAST FOR NOW. *TR
DOORS WILL UNLOCK BY THEMSELVES WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND WHILE PARKED AND SECURED. *TR
AFTER SEVERAL DAYS OF INTERMITTENT AIR-CONDITIONING (COOLING) FUNCTION, THE AC COMPRESSOR FAILED. DEALER MECHANIC REPORTS THE COMPRESSOR COIL FAILED (MELTED?). CONDITIONS AT THE TIME WERE HIGH AMBIENT TEMPERATURES (CA. 90-100 DEGREES F). I'M FILING THIS REPORT TO CORROBORATE NUMEROUS ONLINE ACCOUNTS OF SIMILAR FAILURES IN NEWER MODEL HONDA CR-VS WITH 50,000-60,000 MILES OF USE. *TR
WHEN BACKING OUT OF AN UNPAVED PARKING AREA I HIT A LARGE PONDEROSA PINE TREE WITH THE REAR BUMPER. THE BUMPER ABSORBED THE IMPACT WITH A SMALL SCRATCH TO THE BUMPER COVER. UPON IMPACT, THE CAR WAS NO LONGER IN MY CONTROL FOR IT LURCHED FORWARD ABOUT 40 FEET INTO THE PARKING SPACE I HAD LEFT AND HIT ANOTHER LARGE TREE WITH THE CENTER OF THE CAR. THE CAR ACCELERATED FORWARD SO QUICKLY I DO NOT RECALL WHEN THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE COLLISION ALL FOUR WHEELS CONTINUED SPINNING AND DUG SMALL DEPRESSIONS IN THE DIRT UNTIL THE ENGINE STOPPED. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE AFTER BACKING INTO THE TREE. I SUFFERED BRUISED RIBS AND A SEVERE BURN TO MY HAND FROM THE AIRBAG. A SHERIFF ASSESSED THE ACCIDENT AND CALLED AN AMBULANCE TO ASSESS MY CONDITION AND I DID NOT REQUIRE HOSPITALIZATION. THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE (ESTIMATED $11,000) TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR. THIS WAS MY FIRST ACCIDENT AND I'M CONCERNED THAT MY HONDA CR-V IS UNSAFE FOR THE ABOVE REASON. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 4 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE DRIVER SIDE OF HIS VEHICLE. THE SEAT BELTS DID NOT SECURE AND THE DRIVER WAS THROWN INTO THE WINDSHIELD. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AFTER THE CRASH HAPPENED. THE DRIVER SUFFERED A BROKEN STERNUM IN ADDITION TO VARIOUS HEAD INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED OR INSPECTED FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LOCK SLOWLY LOCKS BY ITSELF AFTER THE KEY FOB IS USED TO UNLOCK THE DOORS. THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL SLOWLY UNLOCK BY ITSELF AFTER THE KEY FOB IS USED TO LOCK THE DOORS (EXACT OPPOSITE OF THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR). THE CAR LOCKS WILL REPEATEDLY LOCK AND UNLOCK THEMSELVES WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE AS THE CAR CANNOT BE LOCKED NOW. 5-27-12, MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING OUR CR-V 2008 WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF JAX. BCH, FL. HE SLOWED FROM 15 TO 2 MPH, TURNING A CORNER, AND THE REAR HATCH WINDOW EXPLODED. A LARGE BASKET-BALL SHAPED CIRCLE HOLE APPEARED IN THE REAR WINDOW. THE GLASS FROM THE HOLE EXPLODED OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. IMMEDIATELY 3/4 OF THE REMAINING WINDOW GLASS DROPPED FROM INSIDE THE REAR WINDOW FRAME ONTO THE VEHICLE FLOOR. HE CHECKED FOR OUTSIDE CAR GLASS DEBRIS, THEN DROVE THE CAR TO OUR CONDO LESS THAN A MILE AWAY. WE COVERED THE HOLE WITH A GARBAGE BAG AND DUCT TAPE FOR THE DRIVE TO OUR COVERED GARAGE AT HOME IN ORANGE PARK, FL. SINCE IT WAS MEMORIAL DAY WK-END, WE KNEW THAT NO REPAIRS COULD BE MADE UNTIL THE HOLIDAY WAS OVER. ALSO, A TROPICAL STORM WAS HEADED TOWARDS JAX. TODAY, I CALLED STEVE LUCAS HONDA IN ORANGE PARK, FL WHERE PREVIOUS OIL CHANGES WERE MADE, AND HAVE BEEN WAITING THREE HOURS FOR A RETURN CALL FROM THEIR SERVICE MANAGER RE: THIS OCCURRENCE, ALSO FOR THEIR RECOMMENDATION FOR A WINDOW REPLACEMENT CO. THIS IS MOST ALARMING, FOR THIS VERY SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING WHEN THE CAR WAS LESS THAN 2 MONTHS OLD, IN A HEAVY RAINSTORM ON THE INTERSTATE HEADED TO AMELIA ISLAND, FL. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND MY FRIEND MET ME, BRINGING A GARBAGE BAG AND DUCT TAPE, AND WE TAPED IT FOR MY RETURN TO JAX. FL. WE'D PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AT ATLANTIC HONDA, JAX, FL. I CALLED AND REPORTED IT TO THEM. THE SERVICE MA. SAID HE'D NEVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING, AND RECOMMENDED A GLASS REPLACEMENT COMPANY FOR REPAIRS. SINCE THIS 2ND OCCURRENCE, WE ARE VERY ALARMED AND DO NOT NOW FEEL SAFE IN OUR VEHICLE. THE WINDOW REPLACEMENT THE 1ST TIME WAS RIGHT AT $500. AFTER READING ON LINE OF SIMILAR INCIDENCES OCCURRING, WE FEEL THAT THERE IS DEFINITELY A SAFELY ISSUE DEFECT. HONDA NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS MATTER QUICKLY. *TR
I PUT 4 NEW MICHELIN DEFENDER TIRES ON MY CRV AND NOTICED THAT THE CAR WAS PULLING TO THE LEFT WHICH HAS NEVER OCCURRED BEFORE. I WENT BACK TO DISCOUNT TIRE WHERE THEY CHANGED MY LEFT TIRE AND THEN IT PULLED TO THE RIGHT. THEY CHANGED MY RIGHT TIRE AND THE CAR WAS NOW PULLING IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. DISCOUNT THEN PUT ON 4 NEW MICHELIN ENERGY SAVER TIRES AND THE CAR WAS STILL PULLING. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP, BRAKES PLUS, BIG O TIRES, AND NETWORK AUTO AND RECEIVED ALL DIFFERENT KINDS OF RESPONSES BUT ONE THING IN COMMON....MY ALIGNMENT WAS FINE. BRAKES PLUS TOLD ME IT WAS THE LEFT BUSHING WHICH WAS INCORRECT. BIG O TIRES TOLD ME NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WAS THE TREAD PATTERN OF THE MICHELIN TIRES OR THE TOE. HONDA RECOMMENDED THAT I GET BRIDGESTONE DUELERS WHICH I DID AND THE CAR WAS STILL PULLING. WENT TO NETWORK AUTO AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MEMORY STEER AND THAT THE STRUT MOUNDS WERE BINDING. WENT BACK TO DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY DECIDED TO FIX THE STRUT MOUNDS UNDER WARRANTY AFTER NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS BUT THE CAR IS STILL PULLING. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT FROM AND THEY TOLD ME NOTHING IS WRONG AND DID NOT DRIVE IT ON THE FREEWAY. I DROVE 40 MILES OUT OF MY WAY TO BE TOLD NOTHING IS WRONG WITH MY CAR AND HAVE IT PULL RIGHT THE ENTIRE DRIVE HOME (WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY). I AM GOING TO START A NEW JOB WHERE I HAVE TO DRIVE ALOT AND TRANSPORT MINORS IN MY CAR AND I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY. I DID A SEARCH IN REGARDS TO MEMORY STEER AND MANY PEOPLE REPORTED THE SAME COMPLAINTS FOR THE 2008 CRV. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT IS WORTH LOOKING INTO BECAUSE THE CAR COULD GET PULLED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC OR TO THE RIGHT. SO FAR, NO ONE AT THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN HELPFUL AND THEY HARASS ME TO BUY A NEW CAR. IF I BUY A NEW ONE IT WILL NOT BE A HONDA DUE TO HOW I HAVE BEEN TREATED. *TR
LOCKS WONT STAY LOCKED. ONCE LOCKED THE REAR DOORS SLOWLY UNLOCK.THEY HAVE NOW STARTED MAKING AN AWFUL NOISE WHEN LOCKING OR UNLOCKING. SINCE THE DOORS AUTOMATICALLY LOCK WHEN MY CAR ACCELERATES, AND THEN UNLOCK THEMSEVES, I HAVE TO HEAR THIS NOISE CONSTANTLY WHILE DRIVING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. *TR

THE AIR CONDITIONER BEGAN TO BLOW AIR THAT WAS NOT COLD WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS TURNED ON. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED AN ENTIRE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR UNIT. *JS
I WAS AT A DEAD STOP WHEN I WAS REAR ENDED FROM A LADY TRAVELLING ABOUT 50 I WAS WONDERING IF MY AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE GONE OFF I AM SUFFERING FROM NECK AND BACK INJURIES FROM THIS ACCIDENT AND I FEEL MY VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOTALLED THEY FIXED IT PAYING 10,600 TO THE REPAIR PLACE AND IT STILL DOESNT LOOK RIGHT. *JS

THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR UNLOCKS IMMEDIATELY AFTER LOCKING IT, WITH REMOTE OR BY THE DOOR ITSELF. THIS IS A HAZARD BECAUSE ANYONE CAN ENTER VEHICLE WHEN STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN OR WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED. *TR

AT ABOUT 5MPH, I TURNED INTO THE CURB TO PARK MY CAR, UPON APPLYING MY BRAKES TO STOP, THE CAR ACCELERATED, THAT IS WHEN I REALIZED I WAS ON A SHEET OF ICE. I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE CAR. THERE WAS A PARKED CAR APPROXIMATELY 60-80 FEET AHEAD OF ME, BECAUSE I HAD NO BRAKES, I SWERVED TO THE LEFT TO AVOID HITTING THE PARKED CAR, AND COLLIDED WITH AN ONCOMING CAR HEADED IN THE SAME DIRECTION. MY CAR THEN FISHTAILED AND SWIPED THE BUMPER OF THE PARKED CAR. THERE WAS NO WARNING ON THE DASHBOARD REGARDING THE LOSS OF THE BRAKES, AT ANYTIME. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR DOOR ACTUATORS WERE REPLACED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
DOOR LOCK MALFUNCTION 1. DOORS WONT LOCK WITH REMOTE. 2.WHEN YOU PARK CAR AND TURN OFF IGNITION IT UNLOCKS ALL 4 DOORS AN YOU HAVE TO MANUALY LOCK THEM,BUT IF YOU OPEN DRIVERS SIDE DOOR BEFOR YOU SHUT OFF IGNITION IT WONT OPEN OTHER DOORS.IT HAS MANY PROBLEMS WITH LOCKS ITS UNSAFE.
EVERY TIME THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER DOOR IS UNLOCKED EITHER BY THE SWITCH OR MANUALLY, IT IMMEDIATELY RE-LOCKS ITSELF MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. TO OPEN THE DOOR, YOU MUST KNOW TO BE HOLDING ON THE HANDLE AND PULL IT IN THE SPLIT SECOND AFTER YOU ACTIVATE THE UN-LOCK BUTTON. THIS COULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IN A SITUATION WHERE THE PASSENGER HAD TO GET OUT OF THE CAR IMMEDIATELY AS IN CASE OF A FIRE, SUBMERGING IN WATER OR AFTER A WRECK. I AM FRIGHTENED TO THINK WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IN ONE OF THESE CASES AND A CHILD OR UNSUSPECTING ADULT WERE IN THE VEHICLE AND COULD NOT GET OUT. OF COURSE, THERE ARE MANY OTHER SCENARIOS WHERE THE PASSENGER WOULD HAVE TO GET OUT IN A HURRY AND THIS DEFECTIVE LOCKING MECHANISM WOULD PREVENT THEIR ESCAPE. *TR
AS I DRIVE AND REACH APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE CAR BEGINS TO SHUDDER. IN ORDER TO GET IT TO STOP, AND I EITHER STEP HARDER ON THE ACCELERATOR OR I STEP OFF THE ACCELERATOR. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS ABOUT 90% OF THE TIME AND WILL SOMETIMES HAPPEN AT A SLOWER SPEED (25 MPH) ALSO, BUT MUCH LESS FREQUENTLY. *TR
REAR BRAKES NEEDED REPLACING AFTER JUST 16000 MILES, AND MOST OF THOSE WERE PUT ON BY AN 80 YEAR OLD LADY, SO NOT TERRIBLY INTENSE DRIVING. CODE WAS B6 - BRAKE SERVICE - REPLACED REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID AND NEW BRAKES. IT'S UNACCEPTABLE THAT BRAKES NEED TO BE REPLACED AFTER 16000 MILES. *KB
THIS COMPLAINT IS NOT LIMITED TO MY CURRENT VEHICLE. I AM 5' 3" TALL. THE PART OF THE CAR'S BODY THAT SEPARATES THE WINDSHIELD FROM THE SIDE WINDOWS IN ALL VEHICLES I HAVE DRIVEN CREATES A HUGE OBSTRUCTION TO MY VIEW. I ALMOST STRUCK A BICYCLIST COMING FROM THE LEFT... DOOR ACTUATOR UNLOCKS AND LOCKS AT WILL. RIGHT FRONT DOOR ACTUATOR REPLACED 10/6/11, RIGHT REAR DOOR ACTUATOR REPLACED 6/6/12, NOW LEFT REAR DOOR ACTUATOR FAILING. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS THE DOOR WILL UNLOCK AS YOU DRIVE. *TR
AFTER HAVING THE CAR SERVICED AT THE DEALERSHIP (OIL CHANGE) I WENT TO HAVE THE TIRES ROTATED. ON THE DRIVE HOME THE CAR WAS PULLING TO THE RIGHT VERY HARD AND I HAD TO FIGHT TO KEEP THE CAR ON THE ROAD. DISCUSSED THE PROBLEM WITH THE TIRE STORE AND TOOK THE CAR BACK THE NEXT DAY. AFTER NUMEROUS TIRE ROTATIONS NOTHING FIXED THE PROBLEM AND THE CAR WAS NOW STRAYING TO THE LEFT, IF I MADE A LEFT HAND TURN, ON TOP OF PULLING TO THE RIGHT, IF I MADE A RIGHT HAND TURN. NEITHER THE DEALERSHIP OR THE TIRE STORE HAD EVER EXPERIENCED THIS, NOR DID THEY KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THEN I HAD THE MECHANIC, FROM THE DEALERSHIP, DRIVE THE CAR AND HE BLAMED IT ON THE TIRE PRESSURE BEING OFF 5 POUNDS IN THE FRONT VS THE REAR. HOWEVER, HE HAD THE CAR IN SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR 20-25 MINUTES AND I DID NOT SEE WHAT WAS DONE TO THE CAR. THEN HE EXPLANED IT WAS ALL FIXED, IT SHOULD DRIVE NORMALLY AND THE TIRE PRESSURE WAS THE PROBLEM. THE TIRES ARE NOT WEARING EVENLY AND I AM ON MY SECOND SET. I ROTATE/BALANCE THEM WHEN REQUIRED AND KEEP ALL RECEIPTS. I WAS ALSO TOLD THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK IN THE FRONT CRANK SEAL WITH NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY. MY CONCERN IS THE WITH THE STEERING PULLING SO HARD TO THE RIGHT AND AT ISSUE IS SAFETY. THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT EXPLAIN WHY IT WAS PULLING EITHER DIRECTION AND BLAMING IT ON THE TIRES AND AIR PRESSURE. I DON'T BUY THAT AT ALL. NOW IT DRIVES STRAIGHT DOWN THE ROAD AND DOES NOT PULL. BUT WHAT CAUSED IT TO DO THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE? WILL THIS HAPPEN AGAIN? IS THERE A HONDA RECALL AND IF NOT WHY? *TT

I DROVE INTO THE REAR END OF A TRUCK WHEN I GLANCED AWAY. THE CAR CRUMBLED AND THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. SHOCKINGLY, THE CAR WAS REPAIRED. I HAVE THE CAR BACK AND THE KEYS WILL NOT REMOVE FROM THE IGNITION. EACH TIME IT IS MORE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE THEM. *TR
