FRONT DOOR LOCK DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO FIX BECAUSE IT DOES HAPPEN WITH HIM THIS IS FOURTH ATTEMP AT GETTING THIS FIX
THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR IS MALFUNCTIONING. IT CAUSES THE DOOR NOT TO LOCK. WHENEVER THE BRAKES IS APPLIED THE LOCKING MECHANISM CLICKS BACK AND FORTH WHILE DRIVING AND PARKED.
THE DOOR LOCK CYCLES CONSTANTLY FROM LOCK TO UNLOCK AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, AFTER PARKING AND LOCKING THE CAR, I FOUND THE TRUNK DOES NOT LOCK.
THE PASSAGE SIDE DOOR LOCK MAKES A SCARING NOISE WHEN LOCKING. DIAGNOSED BY A HONDA DEALER AS A DEFECTIVE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR. THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE WITH A PUBLISHED HONDA TSB (#14-084). I HAD TO PAY FOR REPLACING THE ACTUATOR (BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR HAD BEEN OUT OF WARRANTY). IT IS NOT FAIR THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR THE DEFECTIVE PART USED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
FRONT PASSENGER DOOR DOES NOT UNLOCK AND OPEN.
I HAVE 4 COOPER DISCOVERER SRX SIZE P225-65-14 TIRES AND NOTICED A RECALL ON COOPER TIRES..I HAVE BEEN NOTICING THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT IS ON IN MY CAR BUT THE TIRES HAVE "PROPER PRESSURE" AND I NOTICED IT'S SEEMINGLY HARDER TO STEER WHILE MY CAR IS IN MOTION.MORE SO STARTING AND STOPPING.OR LOWER SPEEDS.THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE PAST SEVERAL WEEKS WITH SHORTER DISTANCES OF ABOUT 30 MILES OR LESS
WHEN DRIVING, MY DOORS WILL SPONTANEOUSLY LOCK AND UNLOCK - I DO NOT PUSH THE BUTTONS TO DO SO. ALSO, MY BACKSEAT DOORS DO NOT LOCK. THEY APPEAR LOCKED, BUT THE DOORS STILL OPEN NO MATTER WHAT. MY FRONT PASSENGER DOOR ALSO LOCKS IMMEDIATELY AFTER UNLOCKING.
STEERING RACK & PINION WAS FOUND TO HAVE A LEAK. AFFECTED STEERING PERFORMANCE OF VEHICLE ALONG WITH LEAK BEING A FIRE HAZARD. PURCHASED NEW IN 2007.
TOOK MY CA IN FOR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE SERVICE TO THE DEALERS AND THEY SAID MY STRUCTS AND OR SHOCKS SEALS ARE CRACKED AND LEAKING , MY CAR ONLY HAS 37,000 MILES ON IT. WELL TAKEN CARE OF, ONLY USE TO SHOPPING OR DOCTORS. STRUCTS AND SHOCKS SHOULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN THAT BAD. NEED TO FIND OUT IF AN WARRANTY OR EXTENSTIONS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE MANUFACTURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS DID NOT LOCK. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE DOORS MADE AN ABNORMAL WINDING SOUND AS IF SOMETHING WAS PULLING THE DOORS. AN UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MCCONNELL HONDA (2840 EASTERN BLVD, MONTGOMERY, AL 36116, (334) 271-2500) WHERE THE PASSENGER DOOR WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR WAS NOT REPAIRED BECAUSE THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
THE IGNITION DOESN'T WANT TO TURN OVER. ONE WOULD THINK THE BATTERY IS DEAD, BUT IT ISN'T. USUALLY TAKES SEVERAL TRIES. THIS IS WHEN CAR IS STATIONARY. JUST STARTED DOING THIS RECENTLY.
AIR CONDITIONING FAILED ,ACCORDING TO RECALL NOTICE, DUE TO BAD DESIGN. AUTO HAS ONLY 90,000 MILES. WHICH IS LESS THAN 100,000 MILES AS DEFINED IN RECALL NOTICE. CAN ANYTHING BE DONE TO FIX THE FAILURE? THANKS
I OWN A 2008 CR-V IT'S AT 95K MILEAGE AND BOTH HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAMS WENT DIM. CAN'T SEE THE ROAD AT ALL. I HAD TO TURN THE HIGH BEAMS ON TO GET HOME. THIS HAPPENS WHILE CAR IS PARKED OR DRIVING. CONSTANT PROBLEM. THE DRIVERS SEAT WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD, MOTOR DYING ??
I PURCHASED A USED 2008 HONDA CRV ON 07/19/2017. ABOUT A WEEK AGO THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK WAS UNLOCKING BY ITSELF. WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS AND FLUCTUATING BETWEEN 5 TO 20MPH THE DOOR LOCKS WOULD LOCK AND UNLOCK UNTIL YOU GET TO HIGHWAY SPEED. THE REAR DRIVER DOOR WOULD STAY UNLOCKED. I WENT TO A HONDA DEALER TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AND THEY SAID THE ACTUATOR WAS BAD AND THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR WAS BEGINNING TO FAIL DUE A LOAD NOISE WHEN ACTIVATED. THEY REPLACED BOTH ACTUATORS AT A COST OF $602.25. I HAVE SERVICE RECORDS OF THE VEHICLE FROM THE PAST OWNER AND THE PAST OWNER HAD THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT ACTUATOR REPLACED AND THE REAR ACTUATOR WAS LOOKED AT BUT NOT REPLACED. I READ THE CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AND IT SAYS, "FOR ALL SETTLEMENT CLASS VEHICLES, HONDA WILL PROVIDE A COUNTERMEASURE REPLACEMENT FREE OF CHARGE, IF THAT LOCK DOOR ACTUATOR HAS NOT ALREADY BEEN REPLACED WITH THE COUNTERMEASURE REPLACEMENT PART AS PROVIDED IN THE HONDA CASE 2:13-CV-00381-FSH-JBC DOCUMENT 56-1 FILED 09/24/14 PAGE 14 OF 72 PAGEID: 694 11 COUNTERMEASURE UPDATE. IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A COUNTERMEASURE REPLACEMENT, A SETTLEMENT CLASS MEMBER MUST BRING THE SETTLEMENT CLASS VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED HONDA DEALER. OWNERS AND LESSEES OF SETTLEMENT CLASS VEHICLES WILL BE ENTITLED TO A COUNTERMEASURE REPLACEMENT REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THEY EXCLUDE THEMSELVES FROM THE SETTLEMENT." COUNTERMEASURE MEANS WORKING OR NOT WORKING. THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD THE CRV SERVICE BEFORE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ENDED AND THE ACTUATORS DID NOT GET REPLACED. I CONTACTED HONDA AND THEY ARE WILLING TO GIVE ME A $100.00 VOUCHER TO BE USED AT ANY HONDA DEALERSHIP. IN CONCLUSION I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND WHEN THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD THIS CAR SERVICED AT A HONDA DEALER THE POWER LOCK ACTUATORS SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHANGED. I AM LOOKING FOR COMPENSATION. ISSUE WITH DOOR LOCKS, HONDA REPLACED ONE DOOR LOCK IN AUGUST 2017, WE HAD ISSUE WITH PASSENGER DOOR LOCK NOT LOCKING, AFTER HONDA REPLACED THE DRIVERS DOOR LOCK, NOW THE PASSENGERS DOOR WILL STAY LOCKED EVEN AFTER YOU HAVE REMOVED THE KEY, THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF IN A PANIC YOU COULD NOT EXIT THE CAR FROM THE PASSENGERS SIDE. I WAS TOLD BY MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER THAT THIS WAS A EXPIRED WARRANTY ISSUE AND THAT HONDA WOULD NOT FIX IT WITHOUT CHARGING FOR IT, THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE, THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR WORST!
MY SUV WILL INTERMITTENTLY WON'T START. I HAVE A NEW BATTERY, AND THE STARTER AND ALTERNATOR ARE GOOD. I CANNOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM WHEN I AM ON THE SHOP. SO HE SHOP CANNOT FIX IT. I CHECKED THE GOOGLE SITE AND THERE WERE NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH HONDA CR-V.

THE FRONT AND BACK PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCKS AND MAKE CLICKING SOUNDS WHETHER YOU ARE MOVING OR STILL. WHEN IT LOCKS YOU CAN NOT GET OUT OR IN THE VEHICLE. BACK LIFTGATE DOES THE SAME THING. WE HAVE TO CRAWL ACROSS THE BACK SEAT TO RETRIEVE WHAT IS THE VERY BACK. IT HAPPENS IF WE ARE STILL OR MOVING. THE PROBLEM STARTED A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO AND HAS GOTTEN WORSE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GREENWICH HONDA IN GREENWICH, CT WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE INDICATOR EVENTUALLY REMAINED IN THE OFF POSITION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.

THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 80K MILES AND THE RACK AND PINION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR THE HIGH COST OF $1,300. APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE, RECALL OR PRODUCT UPDATE NEEDS TO BE OFFERED FROM HONDA. WHERE'S THE RELIABILITY?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, A 2017 CHEVROLET MALIBU CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE AND AN UNKNOWN TRUCK. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK, BACK, AND HEAD, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE CONTACT 'S RESIDENCE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (AUTO DEPOT, 5525 W CHARLESTON BLVD, LAS VEGAS, NV 89146). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN LOCAL DEALER IN 2015 BECAUSE THE DOOR ACTUATORS WERE UNDER RECALL; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DOORS WERE WORKING PROPERLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOORS FAILED TO CLOSE AND LOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO POWAY HONDA (13747 POWAY RD, POWAY, CA 92084) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ACTUATORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DRIVER'S DOOR ACTUATOR WAS REPLACED, BUT THE OTHER DOOR ACTUATORS WERE NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 143,225.
2008 HONDA CRV REAR DOORS LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE FAILED TO LOCK AT ALL TIME. FRONT RIGHT SIDE FAILED TO LOCK AT ALL TIME. TRUNK LOCK ACTUATOR MOTOR FAILED SOME TIME OPEN SOME TIME STACK.
RECENTLY MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT MY RACK AND PINON STEERING ON THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING. I WAS SURPRISED AS THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED AND NOT ABUSED. IT ALSO HAS LESS THAN 90K ON IT. A SEARCH ONLINE SHOWS THAT NUMEROUS OTHER HONDA 2008 CR-V OWNERS HAVE NOTED A SIMILAR PROBLEM AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON OCCURRENCE ON THIS MODEL WHICH I BELIEVE WARRANTS A RECALL FOR HONDA TO REPAIR AT THEIR EXPENSE. FAILURE OF THIS PART WOULD LEAD TO SUDDEN LOSS OF STEERING AND I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. CAR WITH 49,925 MILES AND VSA LIGHT THAT REPEATEDLY ILLUMINATES AND BRAKES SUDDENLY ENGAGE. ADDITIONALLY, THE CAR WHEN RESTARTED SOMETIMES WILL NOT SHIFT FROM PARK TO NEUTRAL OR DRIVE WHICH CAUSES ME TO HAVE TO RESTART SEVERAL TIMES.
THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE DRIVERS DOOR ACTUATOR IN 2015. THERE WAS A WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR THE OTHER DOORS. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO A HONDA DEALER WHERE THEY REPLACED THE DRIVERS DOOR ACTUATOR AND CHECKED THE REST. THE BACK PASSENGERS DOOR WAS NOT STAYING LOCKED SO THEY REPLACED THAT ONE.I NOW HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WHERE YOU CAN NOT UNLOCK IT . I TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT HONDA DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WASN'T COVERED BY THE WARRANTY EXTENSION ANYMORE. I PAID $286.27 TO HAVE IT FIXED. I THINK IT'S VERY DANGEROUS NOT TO BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF YOUR CAR DOOR, ESPECIALLY IF THERE WAS AN EMERGENCY. I AM HOPING FOR SOME REIMBURSEMENT FROM HONDA.

I HAVE NOT HAD ANY ISSUES OTHER THAN THE TYPICAL RECALLS ON MY HONDA CR-V. THE STEERING SUDDENLY BECAME DIFFICULT AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. I WAS LUCKY THAT THERE WAS MINIMAL TRAFFIC AND THE DEALERSHIP WAS CLOSE. THEY TOLD ME THE RACK AND PINION STEERING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT APPEARS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2008 CR-V'S. SEVERAL MECHANICS NOW HAVE INDICATED THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. VERY FRUSTRATING.
DIVER SIDE VISOR MALFUNCTIONED AND DOES NOT STAY IN UPRIGHT POSITION THEREBY IMPEDING VISION
WELL I HAD THE DRIVER SIDE REPAIRED AND THEN LAST YEAR I BELIEVE I HAD THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG REPLACED ALSO, BUT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG SYMBOL IS SHOWING UP AGAIN ON MY CAR WHAT CAN I DO CAUSE THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME FOR A DIAGNOSIS BUT IT IS SHOWING THE SYMBOL OF THE AIRBAG AS IT DID BEFORE SO THE AIRBAG SYMBOL COMES ON AND OFF SOMETIMES IT STAYS ON THE WHOLE DAY AND THEN THE NEXT DAY IT DOES NOTHING SO ITS BEING GOING ON AND OFF OCCASIONALLY

RIGHT REAR DOOR LOCK WILL NOT LOCK.. STATIONARY . SOMETIMES YOU CAN HEAR A CLICKING SOUND WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
MY CAR'S ALL 3 PASSENGER DOOR LOCK ARE MALFUNCTIONING WHICH CONSIST A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. AS I DRIVE, THE DOOR LOCK WILL UNLOCK ITSELF NO MATTER I TRY TO LOCK IT BACK, IT UNLOCK RIGHT AWAY. PASSENGERS OR KIDS CAN ACCIDENTALLY OPEN THE DOOR AND CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH DURING THE CAR OPERATION. I DID MY RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THE HONDA HAD ISSUE AN SAFETY RECALL IN 2015, BUT I DID NOT RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE IN MALL OR ANY OTHER FORM OF NOTIFICATION. IN FACT, I AM ALWAYS VERY ATTENTIVE TO RECALL NOTICE AND I HAVE BEEN ATTENDING A FEW RECALL SERVICE ON MY VEHICLE. NOW, ALL MY PASSENGER DOOR LOCK ALL MALFUNCTIONING AT THE SAME TIME, THEY WILL UNLOCK ITSELF WHEN I AM DRIVING. I HAVE CALL HONDA SERVICE CENTER AND OPEN UP A CASE WITH THEM, AND THEY ADMITTED IT'S THE ACUATOR PROBLEM THEY HAVE BEEN RECALLED IN THE PAST, BUT REFUSED TO RECALL MY VEHICLE NOW SINCE IT HAS PAST THEIR DESIGNATED DUE DATE. I FEEL STRONGLY BEING IGNORED, BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T ADDRESS THIS ISSUE TO ME WHEN THEY WERE RECALLING THE VEHICLE AND NOW REFUSED TO RECALL. I TRIED MANY TIME TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE TO THEM, BUT THEY DENIED TO TALK TO ME MORE ON THIS. PLEASE HELP ME TO MAKE THIS RIGHT... I HAVE NEVER SEEN A CAR HAS THIS KIND OF PROBLEM WHEN ALL 3 PASSENGERS' DOORLOCK FAIL TOGETHER. BRAKES BECAME SPONGY. HONDA DEALER SAID THE ABS MODULATOR SEEMS TO BE FAILING. $1500-2000 WITHOUT LABOR AND IT MAY NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. WE BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS. IT IS A CONTINUING ISSUE. OUR CRV IS PARKED AT THIS TIME.
DRIVER WAS PARKED/IDLING IN PARKING LOT WHEN LOUD EXPLOSION HAPPENED. DRIVER THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD REAR ENDED HER. TWO BYSTANDERS WERE CONCERNED AND CAME OVER TO CHECK ON DRIVER. THEY SAID NO ONE HAD HIT HER. THEY FOUND A FILTER, GASKET AND A PIECE OF INSULATION UNDER THE CAR. UPON INSPECTION DRIVER SAW THAT THE FRONT BUMPER HAD PARTIALLY BLOWN OUT FROM THE CAR, IT WAS DETACHED UNDER THE HOOD, UNDER THE GRILL AND AROUND THE WHEEL WELL. ALSO A LARGE CHUNK OF WHEEL WELL IS MISSING. CAR WAS TOWED TO DRIVER'S MECHANIC. MECHANIC DETERMINED THE A/C COMPRESSOR EXPLODED, SUBSEQUENTLY BLOWING SHRAPNEL THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SYSTEM, RUINING THE ENTIRE SYSTEM AS WELL AS CAUSING SAID BODY DAMAGE. MECHANIC ALSO DETERMINED THAT THE FILTER, GASKET AND SOCK HAD BLOWN OUT FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE A/C COMPRESSOR, THE BLAST FROM THE EXPLOSION WAS THE APPARENT CAUSE OF THE BODY DAMAGE. A COMPLETE REPORT FROM A BODY SHOP WILL BE OBTAINED TODAY. DRIVER WAS QUITE CONCERNED ABOUT THE MASSIVE DAMAGE DONE AND HOW EASILY SOMEONE NEAR THE CAR AT THE TIME COULD HAVE BEEN HURT. DRIVER WAS ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT HER RESPONSE WOULD HAVE BEEN IF SHE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT THE TIME OF EXPLOSION. DRIVER IS A GRANDMA, SHE MEETS UP WITH HER DAUGHTER AND GRANDDAUGHTER IN VERY SIMILAR SITUATIONS ON A REGULAR BASIS. THE 7 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN IN THE BLAST RADIUS. A COMPLAINT WAS FILED WITH HONDA TO WHICH THEY QUICKLY DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY. A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WAS FILED AGAINST HONDA AND WON IN 2012 REGARDING EXPLODING A/C COMPRESSORS IN 2008 CRVS. HOWEVER HONDA WAS ABSOLVED OF ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAID VEHICLES AFTER 7 YEARS OR 100,000 MILES. THE CRV IN QUESTION HAS 120,000 MILES.
AIR CONDITIONER CLUTCH FAN IS NOT ENGAGING WITH THE COMPRESSOR, AND BLOWS OUT HOT AIR. HONDA HAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE CLUTCH FAN AND COMPRESSOR THAT THEY KNOW ARE FAULTY PARTS, BUT I DID NOT RECEIVE A RECALL LETTER REGARDING THE PARTS IN TIME TO GET THEM REPAIRED. MY CAR IS NOW PAST THE MILEAGE LISTED ON THE WARRANTY BY A FEW THOUSAND MILES. HONDA WANTS TO CHARGE $1,100 FOR NEW PARTS AND LABOR. HONDA DEALER WANTS AMERICAN HONDA TO "SEND AN EMAIL" TO THE DEALER, UPON CONTACTING AMERICAN HONDA, THEY WANT THE SERVICE MANAGER TO HONOR THE WARRANTY. IT IS A GAME OF "PASS THE BUCK". ALSO, I WAS WITHOUT MY VEHICLE FOR FOUR MONTHS LAST YEAR DUE TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL SO I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE SAFETY OF THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. HONDAS ARE NOT INEXPENSIVE VEHICLES. THERE SHOULD BE A HARD RECALL ON THESE AIR CONDITIONER SYSTEMS THAT ARE FAULTY, AND HONDA KNOWS IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VSA AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY JERKED. THE CONTACT HAD TO RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL OR PULL OVER, SHIFT INTO PARK, AND WAIT A COUPLE OF MINUTES BEFORE SHIFTING BACK INTO DRIVE IN ORDER FOR THE JERKING TO STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS PERFORMED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF THE FAILURE CODES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
ON JUNE 23, 2017, AT ABOUT 8:10 A.M., I TURNED IN TO A DRY CLEANERS STORE AT 5702 EVERHARD ROAD, CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. AS I WAS SLOWLY TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE AND APPLYING MY BRAKES, MY 2008 HONDA DR-V ACCELERATED ON IT'S OWN, AT A SPEED SO FAST I COULD NOT STOP IT, EVEN THOUGH I WAS APPLYING THE BRAKES AS HARD AS I COULD. THE CR-V TRAVELED ABOUT 20-25 FEET AND HIT A PILLAR OF THE BUILDING HEAD ON. THE CR-V HIT THE PILLAR WITH SUCH FORCE THAT IT REBOUNDED BACK APPROXIMATELY 5 FEET FROM THE POINT OF IMPACT. THE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS CRUSHED IN AND THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG INFLATED. THE SUDDEN, UNEXPLAINED ACCELERATION OF THE CR-V ON IT'S OWN CAUSED THE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OF THE CAR. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKES THE ENTIRE TIME AND THE CR-V WOULD NOT STOP.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR (RIGHT SIDE) BECAME TOTALLY LOCKED, WHICH AUTOMATICALLY ALSO LOCKED THE LIFT-UP REAR HATCH; THE DOOR LATCH HAD SEIZED. REPAIRS COST $461.03 (LABOR PORTION WAS $376.74) BEFORE A 10% DISCOUNT. THIS WAS THE 3RD OF THE 4 DOOR LATCHES TO REQUIRE REPLACEMENT, ONLY ONE OF THEM COVERED IN AN EARLIER RECALL. THE REMAINING FRONT PASSENGER SIDE ORIGINAL LATCH IS NOW MAKING LOUD NOISES AND COULD PROBABLY FAIL AT ANY TIME. THIS CURRENT REPORTED INCIDENT WAS DISCOVERED WHEN THE CAR STOPPED AND A PASSENGER TRIED TO EXIT ON A CITY STREET.
AC GOING OUT AND COSTLY REPAIRS, SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING
ELECTRIC DOOR LOCK SYSTEM RECALL: OUR 2008 HONDA CRV LITERALLY LOCKED US OUT. WE WERE YARD SALING IN A NEARBY NEIGHBORHOOD. WE PARKED ON THE STREET, AND LOCKED THE VEHICLE. UPON RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE, IT WOULD NOT UNLOCK WITH THE FOB. I TRIED IT SEVERAL TIMES WITH FAINT CLICKING SOUNDS. THE KEY ALSO FAILED TO UNLOCK THE DRIVERS DOOR. OUR CELL PHONE AND KEYS TO THE HOUSE WERE IN THE LOCKED VEHICLE . IT WAS A SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND WE WERE LOCKED OUT OF OUR VEHICLE AND STRANDED. WE WERE FORTUNATE IN THAT OUR NEIGHBOR AND A FRIEND WERE YARD SALING IN THE SAME AREA AND GAVE US A RIDE HOME AND WE WERE ABLE TO GAIN ENTRANCE TO OUR HOUSE VIA AN OPEN WINDOW. WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO GET A HOLD OF THE MECHANIC(NOT THE DEALERSHIP!!) THE MECHANIC FIXED ONE FAILED DOOR ACTUATOR AND THE OTHER DOOR ACTUATORS WERE ALSO PROBABLY INVOLVED{??). HE SUGGESTED GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THE DIAGNOSTIC REVEALED A TOTAL OF THREE ACTUATORS GONE BAD!!! THE DEALERSHIP WOULD BE GLAD TO "FIX" THE PROBLEM FOR $350 PER ACTUATOR --- $270 FOR PARTS AND $780 FOR LABOR.. IT TURNS OUT THE PARTS ARE PREDOMINANTLY PLASTIC AND APPEAR MADE NOT TO LAST. THE PICTURE COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT DIFFERENT. THE DAY BEFORE WE WERE USING THE SAME VEHICLE 45 TO 60 MINUTES FROM HOME AND NO NEARBY CONTACTS. WE WOULD HAVE BEEN STILL STRANDED AND EVEN MORE STRESSED!!! WE BOUGHT OUR HONDA CRV BECAUSE HONDA SUPPOSEDLY HAD A BETTER THAN AVERAGE SERVICE RECORD , QUALITY OF PARTS, AND SAFETY RECORD.
2008 HONDA CRV WITH LESS THAN 67000 MILES. TAKEN FOR INSPECTION IN MARCH AND WAS TOLD THE RACK AND PINION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. STARTING TO LEAK. NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WITHIN A COUPLE OF MONTHS. I NEVER SAW WHERE IT WAS LEAKING. TOOK IT IN TO DEALERSHIP AND HAD RACK AND PINION REPLACED. THEY SAID IT WAS BAD, CHARGED ABOUT $1000.00.

THE MANUFACTURER ALSO STATED THAT, DUE TO THE RECALL BEING COMPLETED, THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE ANOTHER RECALL REPAIR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,579. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT THE CONTACT WAS NOT OFFERED ASSISTANCE IN HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,463.
STEERING RACK AND PINION IS LEAKING WHEN I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC HE TOLD ME THAT THIS PROBLEM IS COMMON WITH THE 2008 HONDA CRV ,AND VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX.IDID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE I WAS SHOCKED BY HOW MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT SAME PROBLEM,AND HONDA REFUSE TO TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY.THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE ,LOSING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING MY CAUSE DEATH OR INJURY.I STILL DIDN'T FIX MY CAR CAUSE I FEEL THAT HONDA SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR OF THE VEHICLE AFTER SO MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINED AND IT'S ONLY EFFECT THIS PARTICULAR MAKE AND MODEL.

THE DEALER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL OR EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,398.

SHORTLY AFTER THE DEALER'S REPAIR, THE OTHER THREE DOORS MADE A CLICKING NOISE, AND LOCKED AND UNLOCKED MORE FREQUENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
