TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH ON THE ROADWAY, THE CONTACT WAS BLINDED BY THE SUN AND CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF A STOPPED VEHICLE. THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED IN THE STEERING WHEEL WITH FORCE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO BOTH WRISTS THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AND THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED EIGHT AIR BAG RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A STORAGE LOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS LATER NOTIFIED OF THE CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I AM DEAF. PASSENGERS NOTE SOUND OF DOOR LOCKS LOCKING AND UNLOCKING CONTINUOUSLY WHILE DRIVING. ALSO PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK FROM INSIDE, A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VANITY LIGHT BULB IN THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR WAS EXTREMELY HOT, WHICH WAS A FIRE HAZARD AND DRAINED THE VEHICLE'S BATTERY. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE DEALER (DCH HONDA OF OXNARD, 1500 VENTURA BLVD, OXNARD, CA 93036, (805) 204-4787) ABOUT REPLACING THE BATTERY AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENTIRE VISOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
HESITATION ON HOT DAYS: FROM A STANDSTILL ATTEMPTING TO MERGE WITH TRAFFIC ON A HOT DAY CAN BE DANGEROUS. THE CAR HESITATES AND THEN ACCELERATES AT A RATE FAR SLOWER THAN NORMAL EVEN WITH THE ACCELERATOR PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN TO TWO DEALERS, WITH NO POSITIVE RESULTS. THIS HAPPENS DAILY ON HOT DAYS.
I'VE RECENTLY NOTICED THAT THE LOCKS ON MY FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AND REAR DOOR ARE MALFUNCTIONING. USUALLY UPON STOPPING AND PLACING THE VEHICLE IN PARK, ALL DOORS UNLOCK. HOWEVER, NOW NEITHER MY FRONT PASSENGER DOOR NOR MY REAR DOOR WILL UNLOCK THEMSELVES UPON STOPPING AND PARKING. FURTHER, THESE SAME LOCKS WILL NOT RESPOND TO THE REMOTE ENTRY UNLOCK BUTTON. THIS CONCERNS ME BECAUSE I REGULARLY DRIVE WITH MY 2-YEAR-OLD SON, AND NOW I'M AFRAID THAT THE OTHER DOORS WILL BEGIN TO MALFUNCTION AS WELL, AND POTENTIALLY TRAP SOMEONE INSIDE THE CAR. BECAUSE THIS IS A RECENT ISSUE I'VE NOT HAD A CHANCE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE LOOKED AT, BUT I'VE READ ONLINE ABOUT MANY OTHER CONSUMERS WITH A SIMILAR ISSUE IN THEIR CR-VS, SO I'D LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT REMEDIES FOR THIS PROBLEM. MICHELIN DEFENDER XT GREEN X TIRES ARE CRACKED AND SEPARATING AROUND ALL THE TREAD. ONLY HAVE 35,000 MILES ON TIRES AND ARE LESS THAN 4YRS OLD. SOME CRACKING IS ALSO ON SIDEWALLS BUT MOSTLY IN THE TREAD. ALSO HAVE VIBRATION AT 60+ MPH DUE TO TREAD SEPARATING FROM TIRE. THIS IS THE 4TH VEHICLE I HAVE HAD THESE TIRES DRY ROT AND CRACKING. I HAVE REPLACED ALL OF MY TIRES. I DID THE MICHELIN WARRANTY ON ONE VEHICLE AND IT WAS A NIGHTMARE, NO DEALERS HONOR THE WARRANTY AND THEY LIE TO CUSTOMERS SAYING TIRES ARE SAFE. PLEASE HAVE MICHELIN RECALL THE DEFENDER GREEN X LINE OF TIRES BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. DOT CODES: 225/65R17 B93T02BX1114 B93T02BX0914
I WISH TO COMPLAIN ABOUT MY 2010 HONDA CRV. I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH MY AIR CONDITIONING UNIT. WHEN IT IS HOT, IT BLOWS HOT AIR EVEN WHEN IT IS SET ON THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE. HOWEVER, WHEN IT IS NIGHTTIME IT WILL BLOW COLD AIR. HONDA EVACUATED AND RECHARGED THE SYSTEM ONLY FOR ME TO EXPERIENCE THE SAME ISSUES TWO MONTHS LATER. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE AC COMPRESSOR, COIL SET, CLUTCH SET, ETC. I WENT TO GET A SECOND OPINION AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE AC COMPRESSOR WOULD NOT EVEN POWER ON DUE TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES. IN RELATION TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES, MY CAR ALSO STALLED ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND I WAS ABLE TO HAVE THAT ISSUE RECTIFY WITHOUT TAKING IT TO HONDA.
I HAVE A 2010 HONDA CRV AND IT IS CONSUMING AN EXCESS AMOUNT OF OIL. I HAVE PREFORMED NUMEROUS TESTS WITH THE DEALERSHIP EVERY 1000 MILES PER THE TEST REQUIREMENTS FOR EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. MY CRV IS CURRENTLY USING 26OZ OF OIL OR MORE EVERY 1000 MILES AND THE DEALERSHIP AND HONDA STATE THAT IT IS WITHIN NORMAL RANGE. THEY STATED THAT I SHOULD CHECK MY OIL EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY GAS TANK. THEY STATED THAT IF I DO NOT CHECK MY OIL EVERY TIME I GET GAS, THE LEVEL MAY GO LOW AND MY ENGINE CAN BLOW UP. I DO NOT THINK IT IS REASONABLE TO HAVE TO CHECK MY OIL EVERY WEEK FOR A KNOWN ISSUE WITH HONDA CRVS FROM 2010 AND IT WOULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF MY CAR STOPS WORKING WHILE DRIVING.
I purchased my CRV from Roseville Honda about 5 years ago and recently 3 of my 5 lock actuators have gone out in the car making the doors unable to open. My vehicle is able to be inspected and I drive it daily. Upon research it was known when they had sold me my car that the actuators in these cars needed to be replaced and failed to do so or to tell me. Mine and my child's safety is at risk with the weather as hot as it is if we get locked in a hot car or out of the car with nowhere to go on these hot days it could be dangerous and even deadly. I have not had the vehicle inspected by the dealer but by my father who is a mechanic. Prior warnings would be my doors automatically locking while driving repeatedly since I bought the car. Case ID: 2:13-cv-00381 this is the case of the prior lawsuit filed by other Honda owners with the same issue so this was known before Roseville Honda sold me my car. I have contacted them about this as well as the 800# and have been told I need to pay $190 for a diagnostic and my car is out of warranty so they cannot help me.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER OPENED CASE NUMBER: 08766303 AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CR-V. AFTER THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AND LOCKED THE DOORS, THE VEHICLE WOULD INADVERTENTLY RESTART. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STARTED BY ITSELF FOUR TIMES IN THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS. THE CONTACT CALLED OHIO VALLEY HONDA (532 N 3RD ST, STEUBENVILLE, OH 43952, (740) 283-3435) AND WAS INFORMED THAT DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000.
2010 HONDA CR-V. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE LOCKING MECHANISM. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED 3 DOORS INCLUDING THE LIFTGATE WERE STUCK IN THE LOCK POSITIONS. THE DOORS COULD ONLY BE MANUALLY LOCKED. *JS
Car stalled, began to smoke while traveling at a low rate of speed on residential street. Found it had no oil. No warning light indicated oil was low. Bought it used two weeks earlier and seller said oil had been recently changed. Passenger-side door locks began locking and unlocking randomly while in motion. No inspection. The A/C compressor stopped working mid-summer. Mechanic inspected, repaired. No longer in possession of this vehicle.
MY 2010 HONDA CRV HAS AN OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM. THE DEALER FINDS IT CONSUMES 1 QUART PER 1500 MILES. BECAUSE OF THIS IT DOES NOT MEET THE CRITERIA FOR REPAIR UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE OIL LIGHT NEVER COMES ON DESPITE BEING CRITICALLY LOW ON OIL. I HAVE GONE THROUGH THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST TWICE NOW AND ALSO APPEALED THROUGH HONDA. BECAUSE I AM NOT BURNING 1 QUART PER 1000 MILES THEY WILL NOT DO THE REPAIR. THEY ADMIT IT'S BURNING TOO MUCH OIL BUT NOT ENOUGH TO FIX IT. I HAVE ALSO BEEN TOLD BY THE HONDA DEALERSHIP THAT HONDA OIL LIGHTS "JUST DON'T WORK". MY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC HAS SAID THE RATE OF OIL CONSUMPTION IS DAMAGING MY VEHICLE. I AM NOW CHECKING MY OIL WEEKLY AND SPENDING A LOT OF EXTRA MONEY PURCHASING OIL TO ADD ON MY OWN. I HAVE FOUND THE ENTIRE PROCESS THROUGH HONDA EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. I CALL AND SEND EMAILS AND DO NOT GET A RESPONSE. AFTER I FILED THE APPEAL AND WAS TOLD THEY WILL NOT AGREE TO DO THE REPAIR I ASKED WHAT MY NEXT STEP SHOULD BE. HE SUGGESTED I DO A THIRD OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. HE SAID HE HAD THE FINAL SAY AS THE PERSON IN CHARGE OF MY APPEAL AND HE REFUSED TO HELP ME.
I HAD EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AND THE PISTONS WERE REPLACED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM HONDA AT APPROXIMATELY 117000 MILES. I DROVE THE VEHICHLE AND THE OIL LITE CAME ON; STOPPED AT A REPAIR STATION AND HAD TO ADD 2 QTS OIL. WENT TO HONDA AGAIN TO START OIL CONSUMPTION TEST (WHICH THEY SAY LOSING A QT OF OIL EVERY 1000 MILES IS ''NORMAL' WHICH I SO DISAGREE WITH. THE ENGINE LITE CAME ON, TOOK TO HONDA AND THEY SAID THE CATALYC CONVERTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED (WITH ONLY 120000 MILES NOW). I FOUND OTHER SITES/BLOGS THAT SHOW OTHER HONDA OWNERS HAVING SAME PROBLEM WITH CAT CONVERTER/OIL CONSUMPTION. I BELIEE THE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION IS CONTRIBUTING TO THE FAILURE OF THE CATAYLIC CONVERTER/EMMISSIONS PROBLEM AND THE CONSUMER/MYSELF SHOUDL NOT HAVE PAY THIS EXORBAINATE REPAIR COST (OVER $2600 PER HONDA DEALER). I HAVE 2007 CRV WITH APPROX 145000 MILES AND HAVE HAD NO OIL CONSUMPTION OR CATALYIC CONVERTER ISSUE WHICH CONCERNS ME AS I WAS LOOKING TO TRADE IN THE 2007 AND PASS THE 2010 CRV TO MY DAUGHTER AND ACQUIRE A NEW HONDA. BUT, IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT A NEWERE CRV (2010) HAS SUCH MAJOR PROBLEMS THAT IT IS NOT A QUALITY CAR TO PASS ON TO MY DAUGHTR TO DRIVE AND I AM NOT SURE IF I GET ANOTHER HONDA IF I WILL HAE DEFECTS AND EXCESSIVE OUT OF POCKET COSTS. I WANTED MY HONDA'S TO LAST WITH MINIMUM REPAIRS THAT ARE EXORBINET COSTS.

THE PARTS FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE CONTACT CALLED CROWN HONDA OF SOUTHPOINT (1001 SOUTHPOINT AUTOPARK BLVD, DURHAM, NC 27713, 919-883-4960) WHO STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE THE REPAIR; HOWEVER, THEY WOULD NOTIFY THE CONTACT ONCE THE REMEDY WAS AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE SAME DEALER A SECOND TIME, BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED TIME FRAME FOR THE REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
VEHICLE MAKES A GRINDING OR COUGHING SOUND AT START-UP. IT DID NOT DO THIS WHEN BOUGHT USED IN 2012. NOW AT ABOUT 98000 MILES. START-UP NOISE HAPPENS EVERY TIME CAR STARTS. ENGINE TURNS OVER, BUT TAKES A LONG TIME TO ACTUALLY START. IT SOUNDS LIKE IT WON'T START, BUT IT DOES EACH TIME. I CALLED HONDA, THEY SAID NOISE DID NOT AFFECT ENGINE OPERATION, SO THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT. I AM FEARFUL OF ENGINE DAMAGE OR FAILURE TO START, EVENTUALLY.
I WAS IN AN (4) CAR ACCIDENT ON 1/30/18 (CAR #3) AND MY AIRBAGS DID NOT GO OFF. I WAS BUCKLED BUT MY BODY THE STEERING WHEEL. PLEASE REFER TO PHOTOS BELOW.
THE REAR LOCK HAS BECOME FAULTY AND IS MAKING A LOUD NOISE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AIR IN THE BRAKE LINES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JOHNSON CITY HONDA (2806 N ROAN ST, JOHNSON CITY, TN 37601) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VSA (VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST) ANTI-LOCK BRAKE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 129,000.
ISSUE 1: WHEN I AM TRYING USE THE HEATER IT SEEMS LIKE MY SIDE (DRIVE SIDE) IS STUCK ON BLOWING COLD AIR. WHILE THE PASSENGER SIDE SEEMS TO BE ADJUSTING FINE AND THE TEMPERATURE CHANGES JUST FINE. BUT ON MY SIDE, EVENTHO IT SAYS IT'S ON HI HEAT. OR 85 DEGREES. IT'S STILL JUST BLOWING COLD AIR ON ME. I'M DOING SOMETHING WRONG. ALSO, WHEN I PRESS THE DUEL BUTTON IT STILL JUST BLOWS COLD AIR ON ME, BUT NOT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.
TAKATA RECALL
MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS DON'T WORK CONTINUOUSLY. MY HI BEAMS WORK AND THE DAY RUNNING LIGHTS WORK BUT THE LOW BEAMS WORK INTERMITTENTLY. I WAS ON A DARK HIGHWAY WHEN I NOTICED MY LOW BEAMS WERE NOT WORKING BUT WHEN I SWITCHED TO MY HI BEAMS THEY WORKED FINE. LATER DATES THE LOW BEAMS WORKED AND THEN DIDN'T WORK ON OTHER DATES. HAVE READ MANY INSTANCES ON LINE THAT THIS PROBLEM IS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT WITH THE CR-V. DIFFERENT YEARS THAN MINE BUT CR-VS JUST THE SAME. ONE OF MY HEADLIGHTS WAS REPLACED IN SEPTEMBER 2016. I ONLY NOTICED THE PROBLEM IN DECEMBER 2017 PROBLEM WHEN I WAS ON A DARK ROAD AND HIGHWAY. I DON'T USUALLY DRIVE AT NIGHT. I WILL BE TAKING MY VEHICLE INTO HONDA TO HAVE THE PROBLEM ANALYZED. MY CR-V HAS LESS THAN 54,000 MILES. WAS LAST SERVICED AUGUST 14, 2017.
TAKATA RECALL- OUR 2010 CR-V WAS INVOLVED IN A 3-CAR ACCIDENT ON A CITY ROAD WITH SPEED LIMIT OF 35 MPH. A CAR ENTERING THE CITY STREET FROM ANOTHER ROAD CUT OFF THE DRIVER TRAVELING ON THE ROAD IN VEHICLE #1 AND V#1 CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP. THE CAR THAT ENTERED THE ROAD, SPED OFF AND WAS NOT HIT BY V#1. VEHICLE #2 REAR-ENDED V#1. OUR VEHICLE (V#3) REAR-ENDED VEHICLE #2. THERE IS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OF OUR CR-V. WE ARE CONCERNED THAT THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG WAS NOT DEPLOYED. THE POLICE OFFICER CALLED TO THE SCENE ALSO COMMENTED THAT HE WAS SURPRISED THAT THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THANKFULLY, OUR DAUGHTER DID NOT HIT THE STEERING WHEEL, BUT THE FORCE WAS SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH THAT WE ARE CONCERNED THAT THIS AIRBAG IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. WE WERE NOT AWARE OF ANY RECALLS ON THESE AIRBAGS UNTIL WE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION IN THE MAIL LITERALLY THE DAY FOLLOWING HER ACCIDENT. WE WOULD LIKE THE AIRBAG REPLACED IN CASE SOMETHING SHOULD HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE. WE DO NOT WANT TO HAVE OUR DAUGHTER DRIVING IN A CAR WITH KNOWN DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS.
"TAKATA RECALL" NOTICE RECEIVED VIA MAIL.
TAKATA RECALL WAS SUPPOSEDLY CORRECTED AT PRICE HONDA, CAMDEN DE ON 12/17/16. ON 10/27/17 I WAS TRAVELING ON US RT 13SB AT APPROX 30 MPH WHEN I UNSUCCESSFULLY TRIED TO STOP AND REAR ENDED A 2008 GMC PICK UP TRUCK. MY FRONT END SUSTAINED MAJOR DAMAGE BUT THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. BOTH THE EMT AND THE POLICE OFFICER NOTED THAT THE AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED GIVEN THE IMPACT OF THE ACCIDENT. I WAS TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO KENT GENERAL HOSPITAL DOVER DE, WHERE I HAD A CT SCAN AND AN MRI AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A T1 COMPRESSION FRACTURE AND INJURY TO LIGAMENTS OF C1,2,3. I AM SCHEDULED TO SEE NEUROSURGEON 11/1/2017. MY CAR WAS TOWED TO CHAMBERS TOW CO VIOLA,DE 302-284-9655. I WILL ATTACH PHOTOS FOR DOCUMENTATION.
I WAS DRIVING ON ABRIDGE AND CAR WENT OUT OF GEAR AND WOULD NOT PULL. THEN IT GOES BACK IN GEAR. IT DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE I GOT HOME SOME 24 MILES AWAY SO I TOOK CAR TO TRANSMISSION SHOP AND FOUND OUT A SOMETHING HAD BROKEN OFF THE 5TH GEAR AREA HAD TO GET IT FIXED. JUST GOT OUT OF SHOP AND PAID $2838.36. SO MY QUESTION IS IS THERE A RECALL IF SO HOW DO I GET REIMBURSED?

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE RADIATOR, COMPRESSOR, AND BELT. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START THE FOLLOWING DAY. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED BY AAA ROAD SERVICE. SEVEN DAYS LATER, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED (OCEAN HONDA IN SANTA CRUZ, CA, 831-661-8693) AND THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TRADE IN THE VEHICLE FOR A NEW ONE. THE CONTACT PURCHASED A NEW VEHICLE INSTEAD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 118,000.
2010 HONDA CRV HAS EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM LEADING TO AN ENGINE STALL ON 9/28/17 WHILE DRIVING APPROX. 30MPH ON A CITY STREET. THERE WAS NO PRIOR WARNING OF AN OIL LEVEL PROBLEM UNTIL THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN THE CAR STALLED OUT. THE OIL HAD BEEN CHANGED IN THE CAR 2 MONTHS PRIOR AND WAS ROUTINELY CHANGED APPROX. EVERY 4K MILES.. THE VEHICLE HAD ALSO BEEN HAVING A GRINDING NOISE WHEN STARTING UP COLD EACH DAY. THIS HAS BEEN DETERMINED TO BE A VTC ACTUATOR PROBLEM. THE EXCESSIVE OIL BURNING HAS NOW ALSO CAUSED AN EMISSIONS PROBLEM (CATALYTIC CONVERTER) AND THE CAR WILL NOT PASS STATE INSPECTION. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS INCLUDING LITIGATION PERTAINING TO THE EXCESSIVE OIL ISSUE AND THE VTC ACTUATOR DEFECT. THERE NEEDS TO BE AN INVESTIGATION INTO WHETHER VEHICLE CRASHES/INJURIES/FATALITIES INVOLVING THE AFFECTED HONDA VEHICLES ARE CAUSED BY ENGINE STALLS OR LOSS OR POWER AND FURTHERMORE IF THE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM IS THE CAUSE. IF THE VTC ACTUATOR IS CAUSING OR CONTRIBUTING TO THE PROBLEM, THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. ALSO, DOES EXCESSIVE OIL BURNING INCREASE THE RISK OF ENGINE FIRES IN THESE VEHICLES? IS EXCESSIVE OIL BURNING CAUSING EMISSIONS SYSTEM FAILURES AND POLLUTING THE ENVIRONMENT? A VEHICLE THAT BURNS 4-5 QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN 5K MILE OIL CHANGES IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE FOR ANYBODY BUT ESPECIALLY UNSAFE FOR THE ELDERLY AND YOUNG DRIVERS. AS OF THIS POSTING HONDA INFORMED ME THAT THE NHTSA HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR MY VEHICLES VIN NUMBER. HONDA KNOWS THE TAKATA AIR BAGS ARE DEFECTIVE BUT WILL NOT REPLACE MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WHICH WAS MADE BY TAKATA CORP, BECAUSE THE NHTSA HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR MY VIN NUMBER OF MY VEHICLE. IT TOOK HONDA OVER 2 WEEKS AND A CALL TO THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE TO FIND OUT WHO THE MANUFACTURER WAS OF MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG, AND THEY SAID IT WAS TAKATA, BUT THE NHTSA HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE. NOW, THE DEALER COULD NOT TELL ME WHO MANUFACTURED THE AIRBAG NOR COULD THE 800 CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER AT HONDA, IT TOOK A PHONE CALL TO CORPORATE TO FIND OUT, AND YET THE NHTSA HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR MY VEHICLES PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG BASED ON VIN NUMBER. I GUESS THEY WILL WAIT UNTIL SOMONE GETS HURT, AND THEN ISSUE A RECALL.
EXCESS OIL CONSUMPTION. NEED TO ADD 1 PLUS QUARTS OF OIL PER 1,000 MILES. OIL INDICATION LIGHT DOES NOT APPEAR WHEN THERE IS NO OIL ON THE DIP STICK. THIS FIRST STARTED TO HAPPEN AT AROUND 100,000 MILES (8/2017) AND CONTINUES TO DO SO. MUST CONSTANTLY CHECK AND ADD OIL TO ENGINE. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND HAVE ALWAYS USED TOP-TIER GASOLINE AND I AM ALSO A VERY GENTLE DRIVE.
THIS VEHICLE STARTED BURNING OIL EARLY IN 2017. IT BURNS BETWEEN 1.8 AND .66 QUARTS PER 1000 MILES (BASED ON HONDA'S OWN TEST, ATTACHED). HONDA TOLD US THIS IS "NORMAL" AND THAT WE SHOULD REPLENISH THE OIL EVERY TIME WE FILL THE GAS TANK. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. NO VEHICLE SHOULD "BURN" OIL AT THAT RATE. IT IS BOTH A LIABILITY TO THE OWNER AND A DETRIMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT. HONDA KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM (RECALL) AND SHOULD FIX IT.

CUSTOMER SERVICE SENT DOCUMENTS AND PROOF TO HONDA FOR AN APPROVAL TO FIX THE PROBLEM, WHICH IS WELL KNOWN THAT THE 2010 CRV ARE BURNING OIL IN EXCESS AND I AM WAITING OVER A WEEK FOR A RESPONSE AND NOBODY CALLED ME, I CALLED THEM TODAY AND ACCORDING TO THEM, THEY HAVENT HEARD FROM HONDA. I RECENTLY RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM HONDA CORPORATE REGARDING THE AIRBAG RECALL. THIS REMINDED ME THAT ABOUT A YEAR AGO MY DEALERSHIP SENT ME A LETTER ABOUT IT AND ASKED ME TO SIGN A FORM THAT SAID I WOULD NOT DRIVE MY CAR UNTIL THE AIRBAG WAS REPLACED IF I FORFEIT THE DAILY $15 THEY WOULD GIVE ME FOR TRANSPORTATION, WHICH WAS NOT A REASONABLE AMOUNT AT ALL.
