No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated the failure was associated with NTSA Campaign Number: 19V502000 (Air Bags). The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted due to a phone issue. The failure mileage was approximately 142,500.
I was in a pretty serious collision with a very large deer this morning. My car is totaled, the airbags did not deploy and I had to physically shield my face, neck and head.

My airbag light came on on June 2, 2023. I called Honda to get an appointment, inwhich I did for 6/20/23 for them to diagnose and do a state inspection. On 6/20/23, I was told that I had a FAULTY CABLE REEL. I was told that my car would not pass inspection without me getting this repaired at the cost of $760.99. I got it repaired on 6/21/23 due to the part having to be ordered and received that day.
My airbag light came on without any incidents accruing.

The driver sustained head, neck, shoulder, and mid-back injuries, and medical treatment was provided to the contact. A police report was taken. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the air bag, air bag sensor, driver's headlamp, driver's seat belt, and driver's door, needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 160,000.
Driver side air bag inflator pump is defective resulting into SRS light on occasionally. State inspection failed on vehicle due to the issue. Registered case with Honda but case is not assigned to any case managers despite calling 5 times. It’s been more than 3 weeks and still no answer from Honda. This was safety recall for the same part but entering vehicle VIN number in the safety recall tool shows zero recalls pending on the vehicle. Can you please advise what steps I should take now??)
I VISITED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR THE RECALL WORK. THEY DID NOT COMPLETE THE RECALL WORK. *TR
DURING A FAIRLY LOW SPEED COLLISION (~25 - 30 MPH) THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT FULLY INFLATE. CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS AND TITLE WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY.
THE DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE 2011 HONDA CR-V WHEN HER VEHICLE WAS PUSHED INTO ANOTHER CAR.THE DAUGHTER EXPERIENCED BACK STRAINS AND WHIP LASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE HOME ADDRESS. I HAD BOTH AIRBAG INFLATORS REPLACED. HOWEVER I RECENTLY RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION FROM DEALER SAYING THE PASSENGER BAG NEEDED DOING. I THOUGHT THIS WAS WEIRD, AND CHECKED THE HONDA RECALL SITE, AND IT SAYS "NOTHING NEEDS REPLACING". HOWEVER, TODAY I DOUBLED CHECK WITH THE DEALER, AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A "BULLETIN" ASSOCIATED WITH A POTENTIAL FAULTY INSTALLATION. I HAVE NO IDEA NOW IF THIS IS DEALER [XXX] OR A LEGIT SAFETY CONCERN. PLEASE MAKE SURE HONDA KNOWS ABOUT THIS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. ADVANTAGE HONDA (1260 NORTHERN BLVD, MANHASSET, NY) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION WITH A 2015 DODGE RAM 1500. THE HONDA CRV COLLIDED WITH THE BACK OF THE PARKED DODGE RAM GOING ABOUT 35 MILES AN HOUR. DRIVER BRAKED HARD 15 TO 20 FEET BEFORE IMPACT. AFTER IMPACT THE CAR SMELLED LIKE GUN POWDER BUT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT GO OFF. THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED ON A FOUR-LANE ROAD, 127TH AND HOMAN IN BLUE ISLAND ILLINOIS.

TAKATA RECALL I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS CAR AND THE AIRBAGS, IF DEPLOYED, COULD DISPERSE SHARP METAL POSSIBLY CAUSING FATALITIES. SHE IS IN SEATTLE, WA AT THIS TIME. IS THERE A DEALERSHIP THERE THAT WOULD REPLACE THE AIR BAGS AT NO CHARGE?
TAKATA RIECALL--NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET! THAT'S THE PROBLEM . I USED TO BE ABLE TO ENJOY MY CAR AND I REALLY LIKED DRIVING IT. NOW, BECAUSE I HAVE RECEIVED THESE RECALL NOTICES FROM THE DEALOR AND OTHER AGENCIES, I HAVE BEEN EXPECTING PREMATURE EXPANSIONS OR A FAILURE OF IT TO EXPAND WHEN NEEDED. THIS HAS CHANGED EVERYTHING FOR ME AND NOW I SEE I'M NOT EVEN ON THE LIST. IF YOU THINK I SHOULD CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKY THEN YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE FEELING OF DRIVING A CAR AT ALL. I'VE BEEN STRIPPED OF THAT FUNDAMENTAL EXCITEMENT OF MY NEW (USED) CAR AND NOW I'M EXPOSED EVERYDAY TO THE UNCERTAINTY OF GETTING SAFELY TO MY DESTINATION OR WORSE YET, HURTING SOMEBODY ELSE DUE TO FAULTY EQUIPMENT! WHAT A TRAGEDY THIS HAS BECOME FOR EVERYBODY INVOLVED BUT PLEASE CONSIDER THE EMOTIONAL LOSS I HAVE SUSTAINED NOT COUNTING THE FINANCIAL BURDEN FROM LOSS OF SERVICES I EXPECTED AND PAID FOR IN GOOD FAITH.
