I RECIEVED THE RECALL LETTER IN MARCH. IT IS NOW AUGUST AND MY DEALER HAS YET TO CALL ME TO REPLACE THIS. I HAVE CONTACTED THEM NUMEROUS TIMES AND STILL NO CALLS BACK FROM THEM. VERY DISSAPPOINTED IN THE DEALERSHIP AND HONDA. THIS IS MY THIRD VEHICLE 2ND NEW VEHICLE. WONT BUY ANOTHER.

TAKATA RECALL; IT IS TAKING HONDA A VERY LONG TIME TO REPLACE MY AIRBAG, GOT THE RECALL NOTICE MARCH 2016 AND THEY STILL DON'T HAVE THE PART. THEY TELL ME NOT TO DRIVE IT BUT I HAVE NO OTHER WAY TO WORK. I THINK FOR SOMETHING THIS SERIOUS THEY SHOULD HAVE A BETTER SYSTEM IN PLACE. CALLING THE DEALERSHIP TODAY TO REQUEST A RENTAL; MAYBE THEY WILL GET THE PART IN QUICKER IF THEY NEED TO PAY FOR A RENTAL CAR.

I WAS DRIVING MY 2011 HONDA CR-V LAST NIGHT AND WAS SLOWING TO TAKE AN EXIT OFF OF A FREEWAY. IT FELT AS THOUGH THE BRAKES WERE FAILING AS I WAS HAVING TO STEP ON THEM REALLY HARD TO SLOW DOWN. AS I APPROACHED THE STOPLIGHT AT THE END OF THE EXIT RAMP, I FELT AS THOUGH I WAS NOT GOING TO STOP. I PUT THE CR-V IN NEUTRAL AND HEARD THE ENGINE REV REALLY HARD AND SAW THE TACHOMETER READING JUMP OVER TO 5000 RPM. WITHIN SECONDS, THE ENGINE SLOWED BACK DOWN TO IDLE SPEED AND I MANAGED TO DRIVE THE LAST MILE TO MY HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT.

MECHANIC NOTED THAT THREE ADDITIONAL WHEEL STUDS ON DIFFERENT WHEELS SNAPPED WITH MINIMAL TORQUE WHILE ROTATING TIRES. AUTO WITH 40,000 MILES, TIRES ARE AFTERMARKET, WHEEL RIM OEM. WHEELS LAST CHANGED (WITH NEW TIRE PURCHASE) ABOUT 15 MO PRIOR TO THIS EVENT.
I HAVE 20,901 MILES ON THE BRIDGESTONE TIRES THAT CAME WITH MY VEHICLE WHEN I BOUGHT IT NEW IN 2011. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP WHEN I TAKE IT IN FOR SERVICING THAT MY TIRES ARE NEED REPLACING. I WAS CONSIDERING REPLACING THEM, BUT I HAVE READ THAT THE PREMATURE TIRE WEAR WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AFTER REPLACING. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE CR-V.
VEHICLE BOUGHT NEW IN 2011 AND ONLY ONE OWNER. IN EARLY 2015, MY VEHICLE WENT FROM HAVING MY OIL CHANGED BETWEEN 5000 AND 7000 MILES TO BARELY MAKING IT TO 3000. VEHICLE MANUFACTURE RECOMMENDS SYNTHETIC OIL AND IS THE ONLY TYPE OF OIL THAT HAS EVER BEEN USED FOR THIS VEHICLE. NO OIL WAS LEAKING FORM VEHICLE AND NO EVIDENCE OF OIL LEAKAGE UNDER HOOD WHEN CHECKED. OIL CHANGED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH SAME RESULT. INFORMATION WAS RECEIVED FROM HONDA REGARDING EXTENSION ON WARRANTY DUE TO POSSIBLE HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION & WAS STATED THAT OIL CONSUMPTION TEST COULD BE COMPLETED AT HONDA DEALERSHIP. HONDA DEALERSHIP BEGAN TEST IN OCTOBER 2015 AND WAS COMPLETED IN FEBRUARY 2016. .8 QUARTS USED AFTER FIRST 1000 MILES, 1QUART USED AFTER 2000MILES AND .8QUARTS AFTER 3000MILES. AFTER EACH CHECK, 1 QUART OIL WAS ADDED BY HONDA DEALERSHIP. AFTER THIRD CHECK, I WAS TOLD BY SERVICE MANAGER THAT THIS DID NOT HONDA SPECIFICATIONS TO WARRANT REBUILD TO CORRECT PROBLEM IN ENGINE CAUSING HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION. WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS NOT NORMAL BUT VEHICLE WAS STILL SAFE TO DRIVE. IN FALL 2016, I CONTACTED DEALERSHIP AGAIN REGARDING ISSUE & ALSO HAD TWO LIGHTS (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT & TRACTION LIGHT) COME ON AT THE SAME TIME. HONDA AGREED TO COMPLETE ANOTHER OIL CONSUMPTION TEST & CHECK LIGHTS. WAS TOLD THAT TIMING CHAIN HAD BEEN STRETCHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HONDA SERVICE MANAGER WOULD NOT CONFIRM THAT TIMING CHAIN WAS STRETCHED DUE TO HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION EVEN THOUGH RESEARCH & OTHER MECHANICS SUGGEST OTHERWISE. HONDA CORPORATION WAS CONTACTED MULTIPLE TIMES & WILL NOT COMPLY WITH RETURNING CALLS, ANSWERING QUESTIONS, ETC. DIFFERENT ANSWERS ARE GIVEN FROM DIFFERENT PEOPLE WITHIN HONDA (HONDA CORPORATION & DEALERSHIP). WAS TOLD THAT CAR SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN UNTIL TIMING CHAIN FIXED, BUT OIL CONSUMPTION TEST CAN NOT BE DONE IF VEHICLE NOT DRIVEN? *TR
WAS AT VERY LOW SPEED AND ATTEMPTING TO PARK MY CAR IN A MALL PARKING SPOT. AS I TRIED TO SLOW DOWN FURTHER AND PARK THE CAR AND TURNING INTO THE SPOT, THE CAR ACCELERATED EVEN THOUGH I APPLIED MAXIMUM PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES. THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND I SIDE SWIPED ONE CAR ON MY LEFT AND RAMMED THE CAR IN FRONT OF MY SPACE---MY CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE CAR FINALLY STOPPED BECAUSE OF THE IMPACT TO THE OTHER VEHICLE AND I FINALLY COULD TURN THE CAR OFF AS IT WAS STILL RUNNING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. BOTH INSTANCES WERE VERY SIMILAR AS I WAS PARKING THE CAR IN A SPACE AT LOW SPEED. THE FIRST INSTANCE WAS VERY MINOR (OCCURRED IN MAR 2013) BUT THIS INSTANCE IS VERY MAJOR--SERIOUS DAMAGE TO MY CAR AND THE OTHER CARS--I WAS LUCKY I DID NOT GET HURT IN EITHER CASE--SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS CAR AND MAYBE 2011 CR-VS.
AT 125,000 MILES MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. $3,600 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION??? THAT IS WAY ABOVE OTHER MODEL SUV I HAVE SEEN. THERE ARE SIX VERSIONS FOR THIS ONE MODEL OF SUV, THAT IS CRAZY. NOT TO MENTION TO REMOVE IT ADDS A OT OF COST VS FORD OR CHEVY ( THIS IS THE WORD OF THE REPAIR SHOP)

IN LATE AUGUST I PULLED INTO MY CHURCH PARKING LOT AS I DO EVERY SUNDAY. MY RIGHT FOOT WAS ON THE BREAK PEDAL AND I WAS GOING ABOUT 5 MPH WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. WHILE I PRESSED DOWN HARD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SHOT PAST THE PARKING SPACE HITTING A TREE. THE CAR BARELY MISSED A PARISHIONER WALKING ON THE SIDEWALK. THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW AND SIDE OF THE CAR WERE SMASHED. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO A HONDA COLLISION REPAIR SHOP. AMERICAN HONDA CAME OUT AND INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION AND THAT WHAT HAPPENED TO ME "IS NOT KNOWN TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE." THE DAMAGE WAS $5885. I WAS VERY UPSET BECAUSE I LOVED THE CRV, BUT KNEW I COULD NOT CHANCE A REPEAT PERFORMANCE. THIS MEANT TRADING IT IN AT A SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL LOSS TO MY FAMILY. WE GOT NOWHERE TRYING TO GET AMERICAN HONDA TO REDUCE THE FINANCIAL BURDEN.
FOR SOME REASON THE CAR LOST ALL ELECTRICITY WHILE WE WERE STOPPED AT A RED STOPLIGHT. COULD NOT RESTART THE CAR. COULD NOT OPEN ANY DOORS, NOT THE DRIVER'S SIDE, NOR PASSENGER SIDE. COULD NOT OPEN ANY WINDOWS. CAR WAS STATIONARY ON A BUSY CITY STREET. IT WAS DANGEROUS. I COULD SEE CARS APPROACHING FROM THE REAR AND THEY HAD NO IDEA I WAS STUCK. I HAD NO WAY TO TURN ON THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS, NO WAY TO STICK MY ARM OUT THE WINDOW TO SIGNAL ANYONE OF THE DANGER NOR OF OUR DISTRESS. FORTUNATELY A NICE STRANGER TOOK IT UPON HIMSELF TO PUSH OUR CAR OUT OF THE ROADWAY. THIS HAPPENED ON 8/6/2015. - - - - - NOW SOMETHING SIMILAR HAPPENED TWO DAYS AGO, I'LL SUBMIT IT SEPARATELY. THIS 8/2015 INCIDENT WAS THE FIRST INVOLVING BEING TRAPPED IN THIS CAR.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INNER TUBE RUPTURED. THE TIRE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE TIRE WAS A REPLACEMENT TIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
