There are 4 owner-reported tires & wheels complaints for the 2012 Honda CR-Vin NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
SUV was on highway driving at around 60 mph when the front driver side dipped and heard a loud noise. Tire went flat and there was a lot of holes on the sidewall of the tire. I had vehicle towed to Tire Plus and the technician said he had not seen a tire fail like that before. He stated that it could have been a defect in the tire. The tire size was BL 225/65R17 102H. If traffic had been heavy, I may have caused an accident.
I had one tire on this vehicle which had 3 times where the tire became flat. The first two flats were fixed and then when the third flat happen, the dealer said the tire could no longer be fixed. These tires were purchased at Costco. I have never had a tire have more than one flat.
TIRES THAT CAME WITH THE CAR DID NOT EVEN MAKE IT TO 20K MILES, THE REPLACEMENT ONES HAD 2 FLATS IN THEM. THE RUBBER IN OTHER AREAS OF THE CAR IS CRACKED, COMING OFF, INCLUDING AROUND THE DOORS, WINDOWS AND STEERING WHEEL. CAR IS PARKED AT MY HOUSE AND USED ON A 2 LANE ROAD ONLY. I BELIEVE THE RUBBER IS DEFECTIVE FROM HONDA AND THEY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. HONDA DEALER STATES IT'S BECAUSE OF THE SUN AND BECAUSE HAWAII IS HOT WEATHER-GIVE ME A BREAK-HAWAII WEATHER IS MILD YEAR ROUND.
THE INSIDE REAR TIRES WEAR OUT IN ABOUT 3000 MILES (THE REST OF THE TIRES ARE OK)YOU CANNOT SEE THE WEAR UNLESS YOUR UNDER THE CAR AND KNOW THEY HAVE A CAMBER PROBLEM THAT THEY SHOULD TAKE CARE OF ITS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN WIRES COME THROUGHAND LOOKING MOSTLY AT GOOD TREAD FROM OUTSIDE IN.THEY NEED TO SUPPLY THE CAMBER CONTROL ARM(ADJUSTABLE FIXED)THESE ARE TIRES IN THE REAR OF MY 2012 HONDA CRV EXL AWD. HONDA DEALERS JUST SAY THEY DONT HAVE A PROBLEM. THE FIXED WILL COST AT LEAST 500.00 PLUS ANOTHER SET OF TIRES.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
