WHEN I MAKE A SHARP TURN USUALLY TO THE LEFT, THE CAR DOESN'T GO WHEN I ACCELERATE. I HAVE TO BACK OFF OF THE GAS PEDAL THEN ACCELERATE AGAIN, WHICH CAUSES AN UNSAFE SITUATION. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY WITH ME. THE CAR IS STATIONARY WHEN I WANT TO ACCELERATE LIKE AT A LIGHT WHERE I AM TURNING LEFT.
STARTER DOES NOT FULLY DISENGAGE AFTER STARTING ,ESPECIALLY ON COLD MORNINGS.I FEEL THIS WILL DAMAGE THE FLYWHEEL. GRINDING NOISE! NOTE ; VECHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT TIME.
REAR DOOR LATCH WON'T OPEN IN COLD WEATHER. THIS STARTED WHEN THE CAR WAS JUST 2 YEARS OLD. NOW 3 1/2 AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT.

THERE IS A LOUD GRINDING NOISE LASTING APPROXIMATELY 2 SECONDS AT COLD STARTUP. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 6 TIMES IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS. MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY 22700 MILES. I'M CONCERNED THIS IS CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
MY 2014 CR-V EX-L BEGAN TO GIVE ME STARTING PROBLEMS SINCE LATE 2016. IT OCCURS RANDOMLY, AND CAN OCCUR EITHER IN MORNING OR DAYTIME. THE FIRST TIME IT OCCURRED AND I TOOK IT TO HONDA DEALERSHIP THEY BLAMED IT ON SOME CHARGING SOFTWARE ISSUE AND SAID THEY FIXED IT BY INSTALLING A SOFTWARE UPDATE. IT WORKED FINE FOR A FEW WEEKS AFTER BUT THE PROBLEM REOCCURRED LATER. IT CAN HAPPEN IN SUMMER OR WINTER, AND TOTALLY RANDOMLY. HONDA DEALER SERVICE ASSURED ME MULTIPLE TIMES THEY CAN'T FIND ANY PROBLEM WITH BATTERY OR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. AT THIS POINT I AM TOTALLY AT LOSS ABOUT WHAT TO DO. I CAN GET A NEW BATTERY, BUT WHAT AM I GOING TO DO IF THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURS AGAIN. I CAN NEVER PREDICT WHEN OR HOW IT WILL SHOW UP. IT CAN START WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS EVEN ON A REALLY COLD DAY, OR IT WOULD NOT START AFTER I MAKE A 20 MINUTE STOP AT THE GROCERY STORE. NEVER EXPECTED THIS WHEN I BOUGHT A HONDA.
A Honda CR-V 4D 4WD has the following problems including a faulty VTC actuator (a loud, grinding engine noise for approximately 4 seconds during a cold start-up), timing chain, and excessive oil consumption. This car was bought on November 17, 2016 and the VTC actuator had to be replaced 26 days later (December 13, 2016) by the Honda dealership with a total of 31,063 miles on the car. At this time, the timing chain has to be replaced along with the (intermediate shaft with seals) and the serpentine belt. All oil changes have been on time and up to date and a synthetic oil is used. With an additional 1,000 miles left to the due date of the next oil change, there was no oil present on the dip stick.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE ONLY OCCURRED AT 25 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LINDSAY HONDA (5959 SCARBOROUGH BLVD, COLUMBUS, OH 43232, (614) 864-5250) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE SERVICED AND THE VEHICLE ALSO NEEDED A HARDWARE UPDATE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN DIAGNOSED BY THE SAME DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
SAFECAR.GOV 2-20-17 I KEEP HEARING A SOUND WHEN I START MY VEHICLE IN THE MORNING. SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS AFTER WORK WHEN I START THE CAR TO GO HOME. THIS PROBLEM STARTED IN DECEMBER 2016 AFTER MY VEHICLE REACHED APPROX 12,000 MILES. IT'S LIKE A GRINDING SOUND AND IS ONLY ON FOR A FEW SECONDS. MY LOCAL DEALER SAID IT IS NORMAL WITH HONDA. THAT DIDN'T SOUND RIGHT TO ME. IN ADDITION, AFTER MY TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT KEEPS GOING ON WHEN I'M DRIVING APPROX 25 MILES ON THE EXPRESSWAY. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE MY VEHICLE HI CHECK UP, 12,170 MILES. THEN MY BATTERY DIED AT 13,129 MILES A MONTH AND A HALF AFTER MY MY MULTI-POINT INSPECTION, TIRE ROTATION, AND OIL CHANGE. THE AAA ROAD SIDE REPRESENTATIVE SAID I HAD BAD CELLS. TODAY, I READ ONLINE CONSUMER REPORTS OF GRINDING NOISE COMPLAINTS FROM OTHERS WHO DRIVE A 2014 HONDA CR-V. I CALLED THE HONDA CORPORATE OFFICE WHO DENIED HEARING THE GRINDING NOISE COMPLAINTS. THEY DID GIVE ME A CASE NUMBER REGARDING MY PREMATURE BATTERY FAILURE. THE CORPORATE REP DID REFER ME TO YOUR SITE STATING THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. I AM REPORTING THIS ISSUES AS I THINK IT IS STRANGE THAT ALL OF A SUDDEN AT AROUND 12,000 I'VE SUDDENLY HAD THESE WEIRD ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. COULD THESE ISSUES BE CONNECTED BY AN ELECTRICAL SHORT? IS THE LIGHT GOING ON FROM A SHORT? IS THE BATTERY GOING DEAD FROM A SHORT? IS THE GRINDING CONNECTED TO A SHORT? I LIVE IN MN, AND ONLY COLD AIR BLOWERS OUT OF THE HEATER VENT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BY HONDA (TSB 14-063), IT IS A CLOGGED HEATER CORE. I HAVE HAD IT FIXED 2 TIMES ($120/PER TIME) AND IT KEEPS HAPPENING. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WHEN IT IS 20 BELOW AND THERE IS NO HEAT IN MY CRV.
AT COLD START UP, THE ENGINE RATTLES LOUDLY FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS. POSSIBLE FIX, VARIABLE VALVE TIMING CONTROL, VTC, ACTUATOR REPLACEMENT. STARTED AT 36,000 MILES. KNOWN ISSUE FOR YEARS BY HONDA. SHOULD BE RECALLED AS IT HAS BEEN KNOWN BY THEM AND IS EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE. HAVE TRIED WORKING WITH THEM, AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO COVER ANY COST.

WE QUESTIONED ABOUT THE RATTLING COMING ON WHEN 1ST START OF THE DAY. THEY JUST ANSWERED SOME ENGINES DO THIS WHEN THEY ARE COLD, DON'T WORRY ABOUT THAT! WELL WE DIDN'T WORRY IT SINCE THE HONDA DEALER ANSWERED ITS OK. NOW OVER TIME THE RATTLING IS GETTING LONGER AND LOUDER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA CR-V. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE IDLING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ALSO SURGED WHILE IDLING AND THE RPMS FLUCTUATED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS MODULE CAUSED THE FAILURE. DUE TO THE ABS MODULE FAILURE, THE TRANSMISSION MODULE SOFTWARE COULD NOT BE UPDATED TO PREVENT THE SURGE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,790.
FIRST DRIVE OF THE DAY THE TRANSMISSION IS RAGGED. EARLIER 2014 CRV HAD RECALL. MINE DID NOT. I HAD SOFTWARE UPDATED AND TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGED AS RECOMMENDED FOR EARLIER VERSIONS. PROBLEM WENT AWAY. HONDA SHOULD RECALL THE LATER 2014'S AS WELL.
NO MATTER HOW I SHIFT THE HEADLIGHTS OF MY CR-V, THEY ARE EITHER TOO HIGH OR TOO LOW IN VISIBILITY. I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO FIND A HAPPY MEDIUM WHERE THE LOW BEAMS ARE JUST LOW ENOUGH TO THE ROAD AND CREATE A NICE FIELD OF VISION, ALONG WITH THE HIGH BEAMS BEING LOW ENOUGH TO SEE FAR AND NOT UP IN THE TREES. WHY DOES THIS CAR NOT HAVE TWO DIFFERENT BULBS FOR LOW AND HIGH BEAMS? THE LIGHTING IS UNRELIABLE AND I FEEL VERY UNSAFE AT NIGHT WHEN I AM DRIVING, ESPEICALLY ALONG ROADS THAT ARE NOT WELL-LIT.
TAKATA RECALL - AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY - I WAS TRAVELING WEST ON THE US 60 FREEWAY IN MESA, ARIZONA AND WAS DRIVING IN THE RIGHT LANE OF A 4 LANE FREEWAY, TRAVELING 65 MPH. A CAR DRIVEN BY A YOUNG LADY, REALIZED THAT SHE MISSED HER EXIT AND CAME FROM THE CAR POOL LANE, ON THE FAR LEFT SIDE TO TRY AND GET OFF ON AN EXIT CALLED DOBSON ROAD. ACCORDING TO THE WITNESS STATEMENTS SHE HAD TO SPEED UP TO PASS EVERYONE TO TRY AND GET OFF ON THE EXIT SHE WAS GOING TO MISS. AS SHE CUT ACROSS, I JUST HAPPENED TO BE DRIVING PAST THAT EXIT AND WHILE SHE WAS GOING 75 TO 85 MPH, SHE HIT ME ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. AT THE LAST SECOND, I NOTICED SOMETHING OUT OF THE CORNER OF MY LEFT EYE AND TURNED MY HEAD AND THAT IS WHEN SHE HIT ME. THE NEXT THING I REMEMBER IS TRYING TO GET OUT OF MY CAR, BUT I COULDN'T BECAUSE THE DOOR WAS SMASHED IN, RIGHT WHERE THE HINGES ARE. SHE HIT ME IN A STRONG PART OF THE DOOR. EVIDENTLY, AFTER SHE HIT ME HER CAR PUSHED ME INTO THE WALL OF THE ON RAMP. I DON'T REALLY REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN THE TIME I TURNED MY HEAD, UNTIL THE TIME I WAS TRYING TO GET OUT, TO NO AVAIL. THE SIDE AIRBAG AND THE FRONT AIRBAG NEVER WENT OFF. THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, THE SIDE THAT HIT THE WALL, DID GO OFF. I AM LUCKY THAT THE CAR DID NOT ROLL OVER, BUT I THINK IT WAS THE WALL THAT PREVENT THAT, BECAUSE THE WHEELS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WERE AT A 90 DEGREE ANGLE FROM SLIDING SIDEWAYS. I SUFFERED WHIPLASH, OF COURSE AND MY NECK AND BACK ARE STILL NOT RIGHT. I HAD TO GET STEROID SHOTS IN MY BACK TO BE ABLE TO GO TO WORK BECAUSE I STARTED A NEW JOB. I HAD A CONCUSSION AND STILL GET HEADACHES, AND I TORE MY LEFT ACL, WHICH HAS BEEN REPLACED AND NOW THE ONLY WAY TO REPAIR IT IS TO HAVE A KNEE REPLACEMENT. I AM STILL NOT OKAY AND I KNOW THAT A BIG REASON FOR MY SEVERE INJURIES DUE TO AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOYING. ACCIDENT OCCURRED ON 10/7/16 AND I'M STILL SUFFERING. *TR
THE PASSENGER DOOR WILL NO OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE OR INSIDE WHEN THE DOOR IS UNLOCKED. BEING PARKED AT HOME, I WENT TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE AND WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. DEALERSHIP SAYS THE DOOR ACTUATOR IS OUT AND THEY SEE THIS ON HONDA'S VERY FREQUENTLY. I CONSIDER THIS A MAJOR SAFETY FEATURE AND FEEL IT SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECALLED IF IT HAS BEEN KNOWN. APPARENTLY THIS IS NOT UNCOMMON FOR HONDA'S AND THEY HAVE HAD A RECALL ON THIS IN PRIOR YEAR MODELS.
FAULTY TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM (TPMS). THIS SENSOR GIVES FAULTY READING EVEN THERE IS NO DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE ON ALL FOUR TIRES. THE TPMS LIGHT COMES WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING AND AFTER IT TRAVELS LONGER THAN 50 MI ON A HIGHWAY. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS PROBLEM AT LEAST 5 TIMES AND THE PROBLEM HAD NOT BE RESOLVED. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS CONCERNING THE SAME PROBLEM BY OWNERS OF 2014 HONDA CR-V ACROSS THE COUNTRY. HONDA IS NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM AND PLEASE FORCE THEM TO RECALL THE CAR AND FIX THE PROBLEM FOR GOOD.
THIS IS AN ENTERMENTENT ISSUE. THE STARTER MOYER GRINDS AFTER THE ENGINE HAS STARTED. THE TPMS LIGHT COMES ON INTERMENTENLY EVEN IF THE TIRES ARE AT THE PROPER INFLATION PRESSURE. HOPE HONDA DOES SOMETHING ABOUT THESE ISSUES.
THE LIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE NOT GOOD. VERY HARD TO SEE WITH AT NIGHT USING DIMS AND THE BRIGHT LIGHTS ARE ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS. DON'T THINK THAT IT IS AN ADJUSTMENT OR ALIGNMENT PROBLEM, THINK IT IS A ENGINEERING PROBLEM IN THE DESIGN FOR THE WHOLE LIGHTING HOUSING AND USE OF BULBS. SOMETHING REALLY NEEDS TO BE DONE TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE! MY OLDER 2003 CR-V WITH HAZED OVER COVERS DID A BETTER JOB THAN THIS NEWER VEHICLE BY 11 YEARS!

VEHICLE SHAKES WHILE IN MOTION WHEN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS BETWEEN 25MPH-45MPH USING OVER-DRIVE. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN WHEN OVER-DRIVE IS TURNED OFF. TRANSMISSION COMPUTER HAS BEEN UPDATED BUT THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM AS HOPED BY HONDA DEALERSHIP. THE PROBLEM IS ON-GOING.

POINTED OUT HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN 14-006, DEC. 17, 2014, "LOW TIRE PRESSURE/TPMS INDICATOR IS ON WITH VSA DTC 151-11." THEY REPORTED A REPLACEMENT TIRE (SAME BRAND, SIZE, ETC. SUMMER 2016, DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED, THE CLOSED SUNROOF "EXPLODED", VIOLENTLY SHAKING THE CAR. UPON INSPECTION, THE REMAINING GLASS WAS BOWED OUTWARD, AND THE CLOSED SUN SHADE HAD NO DAMAGE. THERE WAS ALSO NO NEARBY OVERPASS, OR MUCH TRAFFIC - IN OTHER-WORDS, SO EVIDENCE THAT A ROCK OR OTHER PROJECTILE BROKE THE SUNROOF FROM THE OUTSIDE GOING INWARDS
OUT OF THE BLUE, MY HONDA CR-V 2014 WON'T START, I HAVE TO JUMP IT, AND WENT TO THE AUTO PARTS STORE, GOT MY BATTERY CHECK OUT AND EVERYTHING LEVEL OF THE BATTERY CAME BACK NORMAL. LUCKY ME, IT WAS HAPPENED ON THE WEEKEND AND I HAD SOMEONE WHO HAPPENED TO BE AROUND AND HELP ME. I WAS SO AFRAID THAT IT COULD HAPPENED TO ME ANY TIME, SO I DECIDED TO BUY A NEW BATTERY. MAYBE THE CASHIER THINKING I HAD ENOUGH MONEY TO WASTE AND NOT WORRY ABOUT BURNING MY MONEY FOR UNNECESSARY THINGS. TAKATA RECALL. TIRE INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AT 9:25 AM. NONE OF THE TIRES WERE UNDER INFLATED. AFTER CHECKING THE TIRES I RESET THE DEVICE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS IS HAPPENED AND IT OCCURRED A FEW DAYS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED INCLUDING ROTATING THE TIRES. I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE DRIVING 70 MPH ON A CLOUDY DAY WITH TEMPERATURE AT 73
IN MOTION AND STATIONARY THE TIRE INFLATION LIGHT REMAINS ON UNLESS RESET. TIRE PRESSURE ON ALL TIRES IS THE SAME. THIS HAPPENED ONCE TWO WEEKS AGO. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WAS PROBABLY DUE TO TEMPERATURE CHANGE.
VEHICLE HAS BEEN DESIGNATED BY DEALER TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE TAKATA AIR BAGS BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ANY ESTIMATE AS TO WHEN REPLACEMENT AIR BAGS WILL BECOME AVALIABLE. DO YOU HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE AS TO TYPICAL WAIT TIMES FOR SUCH REPLACEMENT?

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED OR DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
ON A FLORIDA HWY AT ABOUT 60 MPH A SMALL TRUCK TRAVELING ON LANE TO RIGHT OF ME FOR NO OBVIOUS REASON ENTERED MY LANE. BY INSTINCT I YANKED THE STEERING TO THE LEFT ONLY TO REALIZE IMMEDIATELY THAT A VEHICLE AT THAT MOMENT WAS PASSING ME ON THE LEFT. AT THAT MOMENT THE SMALL TRUCK ON MY RIGHT REALIZED THAT HE WAS ENTERING MY LANE.AND RETURNED TO HIS LANE. AT THAT POINT I HAD MADE A QUICK MANEUVER TO THE LEFT AND THEN TO THE RIGHT THEN LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE AS IT MOVED IN AN UNCONTROLLED MANNER A FEW TIMES TO BOTH SIDES.I REGAINED CONTROL ONLY AFTER PRESSING HARD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. A MIRACLE THAT I DID NOT HIT ANY ONE.I AM A RETIRED LONG DISTANCE BUS DRIVER.(OVER 50 YEARS) WITH AN ENVIABLE RECORD OF NO ACCIDENTS..
INTERMITTENT CLICKING SOUND EMITS UNDER EITHER FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OR UNDER CENTER FRONT ARMREST WHILE DRIVING. THE CLICKING SOUNDS DURATION IS ABOUT 2-3 SECONDS WITH INTERMISSION OF SEVERAL SECONDS. THE SOUNDS REPEAT AFTER CHECKING PROPER SEAT'S ENGAGEMENT AND EMPTYING CENTER ARMREST COMPARTMENT OF ANY OBJECTS.
THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A SIGNIFICANT FUEL LINE LEAK. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED TO DEALER THEY ADVISED AN ANIMAL HAD CHEWED THROUGH THE FUEL LINE. THEY SEE THIS ISSUE REPEATEDLY. HONDA HAS COATED THE FUEL LINES WITH A SOY-BASED INSULATOR THAT ATTRACTS ANIMALS. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM.
THIS CAR ONLY HAS ONE ADJUSTMENT FOR BOTH THE HIGH AND LOW HEADLIGHTS. CURRENTLY THE LOW BEAMS ARE ADEQUATE WHEN USING FACTORY SETTING. WHEN HIGH BEAMS ARE SELECTED, THE NEAR VISION OF THE ROAD IS LOST AND THE HIGH BEAMS SHINE TOO HIGH. IF ADJUSTMENT IS MADE TO LOWER THE HIGH BEAM SO THAT IT PROVIDES DISTANCE VISION AND ROAD VISION THEN IT LOWERS THE LOW BEAM VISION OF THE ROAD TO A FEW FEET IN FRONT OF THE CAR. BOTH CONDITIONS ARE A SAFETY ISSUE FOR ME. ONLY AN UNACCEPTABLE COMPROMISE OF THE HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT MUST BE MADE TO HAVE SOME USE OF BOTH HIGH AND LOW BEAMS. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THE LIGHTS WERE WITHIN SPECS AFTER SHINNING THE LIGHTS ON TO THE GARAGE DOOR WITH IT CLOSED. NOT VERY SCIENTIFIC METHOD FOR ADJUSTING THE LIGHT SETTINGS AND LEAVES A LOT OF ROOM FOR ERROR. MY ONLY CHOICE IS TO DRIVE WITH BOTH SETTINGS BEING A COMPROMISE. ALL THE CARS I HAVE OWNED FOR THE PAST 55 YEARS HAVE HAD ADJUSTMENTS FOR BOTH. I CAN ONLY ASSUME HONDA FELT IT AN ACCEPTABLE SAFETY RISK AND MONEY SAVER FOR THEM FOR DRIVERS TO ONLY HAVE ONE ADJUSTMENT FOR THE HEADLIGHTS. I AM ATTACHING THE SERVICE REPORT FROM TODAYS VISIT TO MY DEALER.
IS MY CAR BEING RECALLED FOR AIRBAGS?
WE HAVE 4 INSTANCES WHERE WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO START THE CRV BECAUSE OF A LOW BATTERY PROBLEM. THIS NECESSITATED USING A JUMP STARTER TO START THE CAR. I HAVE MEASURED THE VOLTAGE WITH A MULTI METER AND AFTER DRIVING FOR A WHILE THE VOLTAGE WILL BE ABOUT 12.4 VOLTS AND THE NEXT MORNING IT WILL BE ABOUT 11.8. MY LOAD TESTER INDICATED A WEAK RATING. SO OBVIOUSLY IT APPEARED TO ME THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. BOUGHT THE CAR TO HONDA SUBARU OF SANTA FE IN NM ON 4/20/16 AND DEALT WITH JAMES THE SERVICE MANAGER. HE SAID THAT THEY PERFORMED A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM AND THAT THE BATTERY OPERATED WITHIN SPECS. UPON ARRIVING HOME, 100 MILES AWAY, THE SAME SUB STANDARD CONDITION REOCCURRED. CONTACTING JAMES WITH MY SITUATION, JAMES SAID THAT BECAUSE THE BATTERY WAS WITHIN SPECS HE WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLACE THE BATTERY. MAYBE 12.4 VOLTS IS ACCEPTABLE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN CAUSING A SURFACE CHARGE BUT IF IT DROPS TO 11.8 OVERNIGHT SOMETHING IS ASKEW. IF THEY HAD PERFORMED A LOAD TEST THAT PROBLEM WOULD HAVE BEEN EVIDENT. WE NOW CARRY A JUMP STARTER WITH US BUT MY WIFE IS NOT ABLE TO USE IT WHICH I CONSIDER A SAFETY PROBLEM. JUDGING FROM ALL OF THE PROBLEMS ON THIS SITE, HONDA SHOULD BE MUCH MORE RESPONSIVE TO THE SAFETY AND PERFORMANCE NEEDS OF ITS CUSTOMERS. AFTER READING THESE POSTS, MOST POTENTIAL BUYERS OF HONDA PRODUCTS WOULD HAVE SERIOUS RESERVATIONS. WE TRAVEL FULL TIME IN A MOTORHOME AND WILL NEED TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM ADDRESSED AT ANOTHER DEALERSHIP.

TOOK IT TO MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THE BATTERY IS FINE AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG, BUT IT STILL GRINDS AT START UP. THE BEST DESCRIPTION IS TWO PIECES OF METAL GRINDING TOGETHER. REAR BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS ARE WORN COMPLETELY WITH ROTORS SHOWING DEEP GROOVES. FRONT BRAKES, ON THE CONTRARY, APPEAR TO BE ALMOST NEW - THICK PADS AND SMOOTH ROTORS. THE CAR'S MILEAGE IS 17,412
DRIVING CLEAR WEATHER, VERY GOOD STREET CONDITION, GOING 50 MILES PER HOUR PULLED TO ALMOST A FULL STOP FOR A LIGHT SIGNAL AND THEN HEARD A LOUD POPPING NOISE. MOVED FORWARD AND FELT TIRE WAS FLAT. PILLED OVER AND OBSERVED THE SIDE OF THE TIRE BLEW OUT. 2014, HONDA CRV PURCHASED BRAND NEW. MILES ON THE VEHICLES 13,485. NO WEAR ON ALL TIRES VISIBLE. TIRE JUST BLEW UP AND APPEARS LIKE A DEFECT SINCE THERE WAS NO TIRE DAMAGE. TIRE PRESSURE WAS AT PROPER PSI.

I WAS TOLD THEN, THERE WERE NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THE RECALL AND NO LOANER CARS AVAILABLE FOR THOSE EFFECTED. WE WERE TOLD PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE EARLY SUMMER. NOW WE RECEIVE A LETTER THAT SAYS PARTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE FALL. I AM A WORKING MOTHER OF TWO WITH NO OTHER VEHICLES TO DRIVE. SO MY CHILDREN AND I ARE FORCED TO DRIVE AROUND IN THIS DEATH TRAP, WITH NO END IN SIGHT. THE ANXIETY IS CAUSES US IS GREAT AND WE HAVE LIMITED OUR TRAVELS THIS SUMMER, DUE TO FEARS OF SOMETHING HAPPENING. THIS IS NOT RIGHT!!! WE NEED A LOANER VEHICLE, SO THAT MY FAMILY CAN BE SAFE UNTIL PARTS ARE MADE AVAILABLE.
MY CAR WAS ON A FREEWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH DRIVING IN ECONOMY MODE. I WAS ON MY BLUETOOTH AND I HAD NOT CHANGED LANES. SOMETIME DURING THIS 2 MINUTE PHONE CALL I HAD ACCELERATED AS I HAD TRAFFIC ENTERING FROM MY RIGHT AND FELT THE CAR SHIFT INTO A HIGHER GEAR. I ENDED MY PHONE CALL ABRUPTLY AS MY CAR WAS ACTING UP AND NOT RUNNING SMOOTHLY. IT MAY HAVE BEEN HESITATING. I REALIZED MY CAR JUST KEPT ACCELERATING AND OUT OF MY CONTROL. I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND IT WOULD SLOW THE CAR, BUT IT DIDN'T SLOW THE ENGINE MOTOR. I WOULD ALTERNATE PUTTING MY FOOT ON THE BREAK AND TAPPING THE ACCELERATOR AND BACK TO BRAKE PEDAL AGAIN. THERE WAS NO GIVE ON THE ACCELERATOR--LIKE IT WAS STUCK TO THE FLOOR. AFTER ABOUT 3 OR 4 OF THESE ATTEMPTS TO GAIN CONTROL, I HAD CONTROL OF THE ACCELERATOR AGAIN AND EXITED AT THE NEXT EXIT. WHEN THE CAR WAS STILL MOVING AND I WAS OFF THE FREEWAY, I REACHED DOWN TO MAKE SURE MY FLOOR MAT WAS IN PLACE AND IT WAS. I THEN DROVE IT TO THE NEAREST HONDA DEALER AND LEFT IT THERE. SINCE IT IS THE WEEKEND THEY WON'T BE LOOKING AT IT UNTIL NEXT WEEK.
STARTER STICKS AND DOESN'T DISENGAGE FOR A FEW SECONDS AFTER ENGINE TURNS AND STARTS. AS A RESULT, STARTER SOLENOID GEAR GRINDS AGAINST FLYWHEEL TEETH, CAUSING DAMAGES TO THE TEETH OF SOLENOID AND/OR FLYWHEEL. THIS MECHANICAL FAULT OCCURS EVERY TIME AFTER A VEHICLE IS PARKED FOR A DAY OR MORE. WEATHER (COLD OR HOT) DOESN'T AFFECT THE DEFECT.
