I have a 2016 Honda CRV EXL. I have been trying to find out information on why my locks are not working. Most of the time the back door locks and the hatch/rear tailgate do not unlock. The tailgate will unlock only when I touch the door but not with the key fob. Every time I have taken the car to be looked at it doesn't have the issue that they can find so I feel CRAZY! Then I drive home and again the locks will not lock or unlock so I have to reach in and unlock or lock them manually. I saw that there was an issue with 2007-2011 CRV's and a class action law suite. I just want my stupid car fixed.
I PURCHASED HONDA CRV IN SEPTEMBER 2016, THE ENGINE FAULT CODE P0741 TODAY, I HAVE BEEN TO DIAMOND HONDA FOR REPAIR TODAY, I CHECKED THE WARRANTY PLAN: POWERTRAIN LIMITED WARRANTY, YOUR POWERTRAIN IS COVERED FOR 5 YEARS OR 60,000 MILES, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. I AM STILL UNDER WARRANTY. VIN: [XXX] VEHICLE MILEAGE: 20,000 DESCRIPTION: ENGINE FAILURE. I HAVE ALREADY LEFT MY CAR TO 17525 GALE AVE, CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA 91748. THE ENGINE IS LIGHTING UP. I WAS GETTING ON TO THE HIGHWAY ABOUT TO MERGE AND MY CAR JUST WENT INTO A SUDDEN DECREASED POWER AND NO POWER OVER 2500 RPM. *TR
I have to keep a solar panel attached to my front visor or my new batteries will go dead. This is a problem for other vehicles the same as mine. 2016 Honda CRV. I understand that the electrical, battery parts are very faulty. I was going through batteries, and the Honda dealership never figured this out. A friend of mine attached the solar panel so I won't have a dead battery every day. Thanks for reading.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE APPROACHING A STOP SIGN, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE RPM REVVED UP AND THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND THEN RESTARTED TO THE VEHICLE AND DROVE TO HIS DESTINATION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TONY HONDA HILO (124 WIWOOLE ST, HILO, HI 96720, (808) 961-5505), HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,500.
THE RIGHT REAR MOLD BECAME LOOSE FOR NO REASON. I HAVE SEEN MANY HONDA CRV'S WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
I WAS A VICTIM OF A HEAD ON COLLISION ON 3/19/2020. I SUFFERED A BROKEN LEG AND NUMEROUS BRUISES AND CONTUSIONS AS A RESULT OF THE COLLISION. AFTER I WAS TRANSPORTED VIA AMBULANCE TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM FOR TREATMENT AND SURGERY, MY CAR WAS TOWED AND THEN ASSESSED BY INSURANCE INSPECTORS AS "TOTALED." I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET GOING 35 MILES AN HOUR WHEN A SAW A VEHICLE COMING TOWARDS ME VEERING WILDLY FROM ONE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO THE OTHER. THE WEATHER WAS SUNNY AND DRY AT THE TIME. I REMEMBER WONDERING AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT WHY MY FRONT AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. IT SURELY SHOULD OF, I WOULD THINK, AND MAYBE WOULD HAVE PREVENTED MY BROKEN LEG. *TR
PERFORMED NORMAL AND REGULAR MAINTENANCE, OIL USE LIGHT IS AT 30 PERCENT, 120K MILES, WHEN COMING TO A HARD STOP CHECK OIL LIGHT COMES ON. CHECKED OIL LEVEL, LOW, SMELL OF FUEL ON DIP STICK.
I OWN A 2016 HONDA CR V WITH THE 2.4L EARTH DREAMS ENGINE.. I TOOK A LONG TRIP AND DO SOME CITY DRIVING HOWEVER CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL AFTER ABOUT 500 MILES OF MIXED CIRY AND HIGHWAY AND THE OIL LEVEL WAS WAY OVER THE FULL MARK AND SMELLS LIKE GASOLINE. I CONSISTENTLY EXPERIENCE SEVERE VIBRATION FELT IN BOTH FRONT SEATS WHEN THE CAR IDLES. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE RPM IS ABOUT 750 OR LESS. IT OCCURS ANY TIME I COME TO A STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN.
MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN PRESENTING PROBLEMS WITH THE AIR BAG SEVERAL TIMES THE AIR BAG SENSOR IS COMING OUT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ISSUE WAS EVIDENT SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS FIRST PURCHASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CULVER CITY HONDA LOCATED AT 9055 W WASHINGTON BLVD, CULVER CITY, CA 90232, WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
AFTER TURNING ON THE HEATED DRIVER'S SEAT SWITCH, I BEGAN TO SMELL BURNT PLASTIC. DIDN'T EXPECT THAT TURNING ON THE HEATED SEAT MIGHT START A FIRE. THIS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING.
THE VEHICLE VIBRATES EXCESSIVELY WHEN AT A STOP LIGHT. IT STARTS VIBRATING INTENSELY WHEN IDLING. IT WILL STOP IF I TURN ON THE AC OR HEAT TO A MODERATE RANGE AND IT SEEMS TO CANCEL OUT THE VIBRATION. IT HAS BEEN CHECKED OUT AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO FIX IT. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH PRIOR MODELS, BUT IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED IN THE 2016 VEHICLE.
I reported engine stalling after purchasing my 2016 in 2018 they serviced it and never fixed the issue I am wondering if that was issue in my accident

THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
THE REAR TRUNK RELEASE SWITCH DOES NOT WORK ONCE THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE FALLS BELOW ABOUT 40 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. AND THERE IS NO INSIDE TRUNK RELEASE SO THE TRUNK CANNOT BE ACCESSED FOR ABOUT 3-4 MONTHS OF THE YEAR DUE TO COLD WEATHER.

THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON EVEN THOUGH THE TIRES ARE PROPERLY INFLATED. MY DAUGHTER ALSO HAS A 2016 HONDA CRV WHICH SHE PURCHASED NEW AND JUST REPLACED THE TIRES FOR THE FIRST TIME AND HER PRESSURE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AS WELL. I SPOKE TO THE HONDA DEALER AND THEY SAID THE TPMS SYSTEM IS SENSITIVE. NEVER HEARD OF THIS AND WONDERING IF YOU ARE GETTING ALOT OF COMPLAIN TS REGARDING THE TPMS SYSTEM ON HONDA VEHICLES?
I WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL CRASH ON THE FREEWAY AND MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. MY CAR WAS TOTALED WITH EXTENSIVE FRONT END DAMAGE IN WHICH BOTH DOORS COULD NOT OPEN ALL THE WAY DUE TO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. I AM STILL AWAITING THE POLICE REPORT. MY NOSE WAS BRUISED AND HAD LACERATIONS.
I BELIEVE A SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION ISSUE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH MY 2016 HONDA CR-V AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON DECEMBER 12, 2019. AT THAT TIME, I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER 36 YEARS BOTH ON MAUI AND AS AN AIR FORCE OFFICER IN THE CONUS. IN ALL THAT TIME, I HAD NEVER DRIVEN RECKLESSLY OR EVEN SPED AS IS EVIDENCED BY MY DRIVING RECORD. THAT MORNING, MY VEHICLE HAD REPORTEDLY BEEN DRIVING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND ENDED UP FLIPPING OVER SEVERAL TIMES LEADING TO MY HOSPITALIZATION AND SURGERY FOR SPINAL FUSION. UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO THE RESULTING CONCUSSION, I CAN'T REMEMBER ANYTHING FROM THE MORNING OF THE INCIDENT UNTIL WAKING UP IN THE ICU AFTER SURGERY, NOT EVEN DRIVING TO WORK. KNOWING THAT I WOULD NEVER PURPOSELY SPEED, I HIRED SOMEONE TO DOWNLOAD THE BLACK BOX DATA. TO MY SHOCK, IT SHOWED CONSTANT ACCELERATION, NO STEERING INPUTS, AND NO BRAKING INPUTS FOR AT LEAST FIVE SECONDS. THE ONLY REASON I'VE DECIDED TO PUT THIS OUT THERE NOW IS DUE TO THE PARALLELS I'VE READ ABOUT WITH TIGER WOODS' RECENT ACCIDENT. I DON'T BELIEVE ANYONE WHO HAS DRIVEN FOR DECADES WOULD EVER MISTAKE THE ACCELERATOR FOR THE BRAKE PEDAL. MOREOVER, IF THEY DID, THEIR INSTINCT WOULD BE TO QUICKLY RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR THEN BRAKE, DEFINITELY NOT TO CONTINUE TO FLOOR IT FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. I'M NOT EXPECTING TO GET ANYTHING PERSONALLY OUT OF THIS COMPLAINT. MY MAIN HOPE IS THAT INVESTIGATION WILL BE DONE TO PREVENT FURTHER INJURIES AND DEATHS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE TO SEE IF MANY OTHER BLACK BOX REPORTS FROM SIMILAR ACCIDENTS SHOW ACCELERATOR FLOORED WITH NO BRAKING OR STEERING INPUTS FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. PERHAPS THERE IS SOME COMBINATION OF INPUTS CAUSING WRONG SIGNALS TO BE SENT TO THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE. I BELIEVE THE REASON THERE AREN'T MANY MORE REPORTS OF THIS IS DUE TO THE UNFORTUNATE FACT THAT IN MOST CASES, THE DRIVER ENDS UP EITHER DEAD OR HAVING A CONCUSSION.
YESTERDAY NOVEMBER 7,2019 I WAS DRIVING AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS WAS CAME IN OFF AND ON CONSTANTLY, NO ONE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I'M CONCERN AND WORRY AS SAFETY .MY WARRANTY JUST EXPIRED IN MAY THIS YEAR. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE HAS AN EFFECT ON THE SWITCH THAT OPENS THE REAR HATCH ON THE CAR. IF THE TEMPERATURE IS IN THE 30'S IT WILL NOT OPEN UNTIL THE CARS HEATER WARMS THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR SUFFICIENTLY.THIS IS AN ELECTRIC SWITCH THAT MAY BE DEPRESSED ON EITHER SIDE. PRESSURE ON THE SWITCH IS NOT A FACTOR. I HAVE HELD THE SWITCH FOR 30 TO 60 SECONDS ON A COLD MORNING WITH NO RESULTS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED FOR SEVERAL HOURS EVEN IN A GARAGE. TEMPERATURE SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY FACTOR. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO RELEASE THE HATCH LATCH OTHER THAN THE PRESSURE SWITCH ON THE REAR GATE. THIS HAS BEEN A CONSTANT PROBLEM SINCE THE CAR WAS NEW AND CONTINUES TO DATE.I HAVE SEEN SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON BLOGS FROM CRV OWNERS WITH NO SOLUTION FROM DEALERS.
TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR KEEPS GOING/STAYING ON EVEN THOUGH TIRES ARE PROPERLY INFLATED. DEALERSHIP WON'T COVER COST TO FIND PROBLEM AND REPAIR IT. IT IS A KNOWN DEFECT REPORTED BY MANY USERS.
I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN JULY 2019. THANK GOODNESS IT HAS BEEN A MILD WINTER BECAUSE THE HEAT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IS COLD. SEATS HAVE SEVERE VIBRATION AT IDLE. MOST PRONOUNCED AFTER WARMING UP, OR, HIGHWAY DRIVE. (THAT'S WHY TEST DRIVES DON'T SHOW IT!). ALSO, DOOR ARMRESTS VIBRATE. MOST INTOLERABLE; MAKES ONE NAUSEATED. ALSO, GAS MIXED IN WITH OIL! GAS FUME SMELLS NOTED IN CABIN WHILE DRIVING.
FOR THE 3RD TIME IN A YEAR MY CAR BATTERY WAS DRAINED AFTER PARKED IN THE GARAGE FOR THE WEEKEND. VERY FRUSTRATING WHEN YOU HAVE A NEW VEHICLE THAT IS NOT DEPENDABLE. I TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY TESTED THE BATTERY AND SAID IT WAS FINE. AFTER A LITTLE RESEARCH I SEE THAT HONDA HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS, I GUESS MORE PEOPLE NEED TO FILE A COMPLAINT BEFORE THEY ARE FORCED TO OFFER A RECALL AND FIX THE PROBLEM. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER HONDA!

AS OTHER OWNERS HAVE REPORTED, WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE, IDLI NG (AT STOPS), THE WHOLE BODY/ENGINE/TRANSMISSION ARE VIBRATING REALLY HARD. SYMPTOMS IDENTICAL TO TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB) 15-046, DRIVING MODE 1: THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED, BUT IN GEAR.

ALSO, THE BATTERY AND CHECK ENGINE INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN HONDA DEALER IN SAN LEANDRO, CALIFORNIA WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE WITH THE VEHICLE. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO DRIVER'S ERROR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT PROVIDED.
CAR HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES WHEN ACCELERATING. IF IT DOES NOT FULLY STALL THEN IT PAUSES AND ACCELERATES. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC WHO FOUND NO CODE PROBLEMS WITH IT AT ALL. I NEED ASSISTANCE AS I FEEL IT IS A RECALL ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE'S BATTERY WAS JUMPED AND THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. NO DEFECTS WERE DETECTED. AFTER EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE MULTIPLE TIMES, THE VEHICLE'S ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY WERE REPLACED BY THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS DRIVING 60 MPH, THE BATTERY INDICATOR AND THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE THEN SHUT OFF, WHICH CAUSED HER TO LOSE COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY STEER THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE IT COMPLETELY DIED. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO THE SAME INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AGAIN, BUT NO FAILURE WAS FOUND. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED NOT TO START AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO ATTACH A COMPONENT TO THE VEHICLE, PROVIDED BY THE MECHANIC, THAT WOULD PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM FAILING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FROM WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 23,000.
DOOR LOCK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR IS LOCKING AND UNLOCKING ERRATICALLY ON ITS OWN, AND THE EVENT IS RANDOMLY HAPPENING, MAKING IT THEREBY HARDER TO REPRODUCE.
SIDEWALL FAILED ON TWO SEPARATE COOPER DISCOVERER SRX TIRES WITHIN A MONTH. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS TIRE FOR THIS ISSUE BUT IN A DIFFERENT SIZE. SUSPECT PROBLEM MAY BE MORE WIDESPREAD. TIRES WERE INSTALLED ON A CERTIFIED PRE OWNED HONDA CRV PURCHASED FROM BERLIN CITY HONDA IN SOUTH PORTLAND MAINE.

UPON ENTERING AND ATTEMPTING TO START THE SUV, AFTER CLOSING THE DOOR AND BUCKLING THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WILL NOT START INTERMITTENTLY. STRANDING THE PASSENGERS AND REQUIRING A BOOST FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE OR TOW TRUCK. THE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO START THE VEHICLE BUT THE ENGINE ONLY CLICKS AND FAILES TO START. A CERTIFIED MECHANIC HAS INVESTIGATE THE ALTERNATOR, AND BATTERY, BOTH WERE FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE.
2016 HONDA CRV HESITATES WHEN GOING FROM STOP BELIEVE TO BE THE CVT
WHEN THE GEAR IS IN DRIVING MODE, D, MY VEHICLE STARTS VIBRATING SO MUCH THAT ALL PASSENGERS CAN FEEL IT. ACCORDING TO HONDA, IT IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM TO 2015 CRV (HTTP://OWNERS.HONDA.COM/VEHICLE-INFORMATION/CR-V-2015-VIBRATION-SETTLEMENT.HTML). HOWEVER, IT DOESN'T SEEM THAT THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM IN 2016 CRV. ACCORDING TO HONDA, MY PROBLEM IS VERY OBVIOUS AT DRIVING MODE 1, WHICH MEANS THAT VIBRATIONS MAY BE PRESENT WHEN STOPPED WITH VEHICLE IN GEAR, FOR EXAMPLE AT A STOP LIGHT. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN THERE FOR A LONG TIME, AND IT COMES MORE SERIOUS NOWADAYS.
IN LESS THAN 3 YEARS OF MY 2016 HONDA CRV OWNERSHIP, I HAVE GONE THROUGH THREE BATTERIES. AS SUCH THE CAR IS VERY WELL MAINTAINED, DRIVEN ABOUT 25K MILES AND MOSTLY ON HIGHWAYS. CRV WOULD NOT START AND REQUIRED JUMP START, TO SAY NEEDED TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK ITSELF. LUCKILY SINCE I WAS STILL UNDER HONDA WARRANTY, I DID NOT PAY FOR THE BATTERIES BUT THINKING ABOUT GETTING LESS THAN A YEAR ON HONDA 'S ORIGINAL BATTERY IS INSANE. SOMETHING MUST BE SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS MAKE/MODEL OF THE VEHICLE.
THERE IS A RATTLE NOISE COMING FROM THE REVIEW MIRROR PART. I HAD THE RECALL DONE ON THE RADIO RATTLE BUT THIS IS SOMETHING NEW. EVERYONE I TALK TO HAS A RATTLE I'M HOPING YOU DO A RECALL ON THIS SO IT CAN BE FIXED.
THE 12 POSITION ELECTRIC DRIVERS SEAT ADJUST BY IT SELF. THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE DRIVER 1 OR 2 MEMORY SEATS. AFTER THE DRIVER SEAT IS ADJUSTED THE CAR IS DRIVEN AND PARKED. UPON RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE THE BACK OF THE DRIVERS SEAT WILL BE IN A DIFFERENT POSITION THAN IT WAS WHEN I EXITED THE VEHICLE. THIS IS INTERMITTENT ISSUE AND HAPPENS MAYBE EVERY 3 OR 4TH TIME IN THE PAST YEAR. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS AFTER ENTERING THE VEHICLE AND STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE BACK OF THE DRIVERS SEAT WILL ADJUST FORWARD PUSHING THE DRIVER FORWARD TOWARDS THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS IS A CONCERN ESPECIALLY IF IT WERE TO HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY.
CAR ENGINE **UNDER WARRANTY** IS BURNING EXCESSIVE OIL WHICH CAN EVENTUALLY LEAD TO CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. [WARRANTY: 5 YR/60K MILES; HAVE OWNED JUST OVER 3 YRS W/ 38K MILES] 1) HAVING WORKED ON MY OWN CARS 30+ YEARS I NOTED IT WAS BURNING FAR TOO MUCH OIL BETWEEN CHANGES. TOOK CAR TO DEALER FOR 'ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST' 6/29/19; DEALER DENIED CAR HAD BURNED ANY OIL DESPITE STICK SHOWING ENGINE HAD IN FACT BURNED OIL DURING DURATION OF TEST. 2) SENT EMAIL TO HONDA REPORTING THIS ISSUE ('HONDA AUTOMOBILE CUSTOMER SERVICE CASE # 09925699 DATED 10/3/19'). HONDA REPLIED THAT I SHOULD TALK TO THE VERY SAME SERVICE MANAGER WHO DENIED THE ENGINE WAS BURNING ANY OIL LET ALONE EXCESSIVE OIL; IN THE ALTERNATIVE THEY SUGGESTED GOING TO 'ANOTHER CERTIFIED HONDA DEALERSHIP'. SINCE THE ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED THE DEFECT & INTERNAL DAMAGE IS ONGOING. I AM CONCERNED THAT DRIVING THE CAR WITHOUT APPROPRIATE REPAIR IS DANGEROUS. A SIMPLE 'GOOGLE SEARCH' REVEALS MINE IS NOT THE ONLY VEHICLE IN THIS MODEL YEAR WITH THIS ISSUE. I NOTE THAT FOR PRIOR MODEL YEARS HONDA HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THIS DEFECT & AT LEAST EXTENDED THE WARRANTY OR EFFECTED REPAIRS. (SEE HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN 12-089) CONSUMER REPORTS SAYS 'IT'S NORMAL FOR CARS TO BURN A LITTLE OIL AS THEY AGE TOWARD 100,000 MILES AND BEYOND. BUT CONSUMER REPORTS BELIEVES THAT FOR AN ALMOST NEW CAR TO BURN THAT EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL IS UNACCEPTABLE.' ('EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ISN'T NORMAL: AUTOMAKERS SAY ADDING OIL BETWEEN SCHEDULED CHANGES IS ACCEPTABLE. IT'S NOT.' TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WATER PUMP SEIZED CAUSING THE FAN BELT AROUND THE METAL TO GET HOT AND FRACTURED, SMOKE AND FLAMES STARTED TO COME FROM THE ENGINE. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY THE CONTACT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACTS RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT LATER CALLED HONDA CARS OF ROCK HILL DEALER, (LOCATED AT 686 GALLERIA BLVD, ROCK HILL, SC 29730, (803) 366-8161) AND WAS ADVISED TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE SUN ROOF EXPLODED WITHOUT WARNING. THE INSIDE COVER WAS COMPLETELY CLOSED, SO THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSIDE COVER WOULD NOT OPEN AND REMAINED STUCK AFTER THE FAILURE. THE GLASS CONTINUED TO CRACK AFTER THE EXPLOSION. THE CONTACT CALLED TIGER HONDA (13325 AIRLINE HWY, GONZALES, LA 70737, (225) 963-9800) AND WAS INFORMED THAT SHE WOULD GET A CALL BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,954.
AFTER SITTING IN VEHICLE WITH RADIO PLAYING ON ACCESSORY FOR 20 MINUTES THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START REQUIRING A BOOST FROM AAA. AFTER RETURNING HOME AND IN MY DRIVEWAY I CHECKED THE VOLTAGE ON THE BATTERY WITH THE ENGINE OFF AND IT READ 12.31. I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE VOLTAGE READ 13.22 AFTER A FEW SECONDS IT WENT DOWN TO 12.25 INDICATING IT WASN'T CHARGING. I TURNED ON THE HEADLIGHTS AND THE READING JUMPED TO 14.11 AND REMAINED THERE ABOUT UNTIL I TURNED THE LIGHTS OFF WHEREUPON IT RETURNED TO THE LOWER PART OF 12 VOLTS.
THE CAR WILL NOT START. IT BLINKS 'ACCESSORY MODE' WHEN YOU TRY TO START IT AND YOU CANNOT GET THE CAR OUT OF IT WITHOUT HAVING SOMEONE JUMP THE CAR BATTERY. THIS HAS NOW LEFT MY WIFE STRANDED TWO TIMES AND BOTH TIMES WE HAD TO FIND SOMEONE TO JUMP HER.
