I WAS TAKING A RIDE THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS AND HAD PARKED AND WHEN I TRIED TO START THE CAR THE IGNITION SWITCH WOULDN'T TURN LIKE IT WAS LOCKED, I WAS BY MY SELF, AND IT STARTED RAINING AND MY WINDOW WAS DOWN , I COULDN'T GET AHOLD OF ANYONE WHO COULD COME HELP ME SO I HAD TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO START THE CAR A DIFFERENT WAY WHICH I HAD TO USE WHATEVER I HAD HANDY ,,WELL IT TOOK A WHOLE DAY AND MORE FOR ME TO FINALLY GET IT STARTED, WHEN I DID I START SMELLING BURNING , I WAS FREAKING OUT , WHEN I NOTICED IT WAS COMING FROM MY WINDOW SWITCH, I STARTED TRYING TO GET THE FIRE TO STOP AND I SHUT OFF THE CAR. SO I HAD TO TAKE OFF THE PANEL TO GET THE PART OFF SO I COULD GET OFF THE MOUNTAIN. I DIDN'T KNOW THAT THAT WAS AN ALREADY KNOWN RECALL OR I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN IT FIXED SOONER, I DIDN'T LEARN ABOUT IT UNTIL I RECEIVED AN URGENT NOTICE IN THE MAIL ABOUT AIRBAG INFLATOR . SO I AM HERE AT THE PYE HONDA IN DALTON GA.
2007 HONDA FIT HEADLIGHT RECALL, THEY FIXED THE ISSUE IN 2011 BUT IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN AND ONE HONDA DEALERSHIP SAID THERE'S NOTHING MORE THEY CAN DO???? IS THERE SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO HAVE IT FIXED AGAIN AS PART OF THE RECALL.IT DOESN'T SEEM IT WAS FIXED RIGHT
HONDA HAS RECOGNIZED A PROBLEM WITH THE HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS/SWITCH CORRODING OR MELTING CAUSING THE HEAD LIGHTS TO TURN OFF INTERMITTENTLY OR NOT COME ON AT ALL. THEY HAVE SENT A RECALL FOR CERTAIN VINS FOR THIS MODEL YEAR, BUT NOT FOR ALL 2007-2008 FITS. THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED WITH MY VEHICLE AT ONLY 75,000 MILES WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. HONDA IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT IS NOT REMEDYING THE SITUATION ON ALL 2007-2008 FITS, ONLY SPECIFIC VINS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PRACTICE, DRIVING WITH NO HEADLIGHTS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AT NIGHT. I HAVE CONTACTED HONDA BUT THEY WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUE BECAUSE THEY CLAIM THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THESE VINS SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE SAME RECALL FOR THE OTHER 2007-08 VINS.
BATTERY IN MY 2007 HONDA FIT SPORT CONSTANTLY NEEDS REPLACING I HAVE NEVER BOUGHT ANY OTHER BATTERY BUT A HONDA CERTIFIED BATTERY AND THEY ONLY LAST ABOUT A YEAR TO A YEAR AND A HALF BEFORE BEING COMPLETELY DRAINED IN SOME INSTANCES THE BATTERY ONLY LASTED SIX MONTHS I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW IN 2006 AND HAVE SINCE HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED FIVE TIMES. ALL FIVE TIMES I HAVE HAD A CERTIFIED HONDA DEALER REPLACE THE BATTERY AND NOTHING ELSE COULD BE FOUND WRONG WITH IT WHEN CHECKED AT THE DEALERSHIP
TURNED ON THE CAR TO SEE "D" BLINKING AND SERVICE LIGHT APPEAR. ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE DOWN MY DRIVEWAY AND AROUND NEIGHBORHOOD; THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT SHUTTERING WHEN IN MOTION (SWITCHING DEARS, REVERSING, AND IN DRIVE). HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO HONDA DEALERSHIP SINCE IT FELT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. DAMAGE (GNAWED ENGINE HARNESS ON 2 CONNECTORS) OCCURRED SEEMINGLY OVERNIGHT. ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP RODENTS CHEWING THROUGH SOY-BASED WIRING WAS THE CAUSE. WITHOUT THE REPAIR I FELT THAT THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND A HAZARD.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE KEY WAS ABLE TO BE USED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR IN ORDER TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CALLED MULLER HONDA AT 847-831-4200. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
RECALL 13-090 WAS NOT FIXED PROPERLY ON 1/18/2014. THE PLASTIC COVER THAT COVERS THE MASTER POWER WINDOW SWITCH STILL IS LOOSE AND CAN ALLOW WATER TO GET TO AND SHORT CIRCUT THE MASTER POWER WINDOW SWITCH. NEVER FIXED PROPERLY OR REPLACED BUT DEALERSHIP CLOSED IT OUT WHILE DOING AN OIL CHANGE. TOOK BACK TO DEALER WHOSE SAYS THEY WILL NOT FIX EVEN THOUGH IT HAS TO DO WITH THE SAME PART THAT CREATED THE NEED FOR THE RECALL SINCE IT WAS CLOSED OUT ON MY PROFILE THEY WILL NOT REPLACE IT

WATER IS LEAKING AND CAUSING RUST IN THE CAVITY WHERE THE SPARE TIRE SITS. ACCORDING TO ONLINE RESEARCH, THIS IS COMMON IN THE 2007-2008 HONDA FIT. THE WATER RUNS DOWN ALONG THE INSIDE PANELS AND POOLS IN THE SPARE TIRE CAVITY. THIS HAS CAUSED THE SPARE TIRE AND JACK TO BECOME COMPLETELY CORRODED AND RUSTED. WATER THEN SPILLS FROM THAT CAVITY TO THE FOOT SPACE OF THE BACK SEAT. THE CARPET BECOMES WATER LOGGED. THE SEATS, WHEN FOLDED DOWN, BECOME WET. THE SUPPORTS FOR THE SEATS ARE RUSTED. *TR
MY HONDA WAS IN A 2010 RECALL FOR DOOR PANEL WIRING FAILURE. A HEAT SHIELD WAS INSTALLED. THIS YEAR THE DOOR PANEL MELTED A LITTLE OVER A MONTHS TIME. HONDA HAD ME BRING IN MY CAR,SAID THEY WOULD TAKE PICTURES AND CONSULT WITH HONDA ENGINEERS. THEIR CONCLUSION: MUST HAVE BEEN VANDALISM BY CIGARETTE LIGHTER OR SOMETHING STRANGE AS THE HEAT SHIELD WAS FINE AND THERE IS NO WIRING IN THE DOOR THAT OPERATES WINDOWS, LOCKS OR SPEAKERS (WHERE THE MELTS ARE). IF I PURCHASE A NEW DOOR PANEL FOR $250.00 THEY WILL DO THE LABOR FOR FREE. THEY SAY THERE ARE NO OTHER COMPLAINTS, EVER. NOT ONE PERSON WHO HAS SEEN THE PANEL BELIEVES IT.
GM - 2007 HONDA FIT SPORT A/T WITH 48,000 MILES. FIRST NOTICED ELECTRICAL BURN SMELL. THEN THE NEXT DAY NOTICED SMOKE IN ADDITION OF ELECTRICAL & PLASTIC BURNING SMELL COMING FROM THE OPENING OF THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH. SAME NIGHT TURNED ON THE HEADLIGHTS AND COULD HEAR A FRYING NOISE FROM THE AROUND THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH. LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE WHO HAD THIS PROBLEM THE NEXT DAY ON MY WAY TO THE HONDA DEALER THE HEADLIGHTS STOPPED WORKING (FOGS TOO), ONLY THE POSITION/BRAKE LIGHTS AND HIGH BEAMS WERE WORKING. FIRST DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHORT FRIED BOTH HEADLIGHTS AT THE SAME TIME THEN AFTER 3 HOURS LATER THE HONDA TECHNICIAN FOUND A MELTED WIRE CONNECTOR AND WIRE HARNESS ATTACHED TO THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH. $400 OF REPAIRS WITH PARTS. DEALER HAD HARNESS IN STOCK BECAUSE THE HARNESS IS THE SAME THAT WAS BEING FIXED BY THE RECALL FOR THE CIVIC FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 HONDA FIT. A FEW DAYS AGO, IT BECAME DARK WHILE DRIVING AND I TURNED ON THE HEADLIGHTS BUT THE LOW BEAMS AND FOG LIGHTS WOULD NOT COME ON. THE HIGH BEAMS DID FUNCTION. I DROVE HOME WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON (PISSED OFF A FEW OTHER DRIVERS WHO FLASHED THEIR HIGH BEAMS AT ME. I TRIED LOW BEAMS AGAIN WITHOUT SUCCESS. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND SOME HONDA FIT FORUMS WHERE OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. SEVERAL PEOPLE HAD INVESTIGATED THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH AND FOUND BURNING OF THE METAL POSTS INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH PLUG. I TOOK MINE APART AND FOUND THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE, FOR NOW, FIXED MINE WITH THE APPLICATION OF SILICONE GREASE TO THE CONTACTS BUT DON'T KNOW HOW LONG THIS FIX WILL LAST. I'M VERY CONCERNED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS MIGHT GO OUT SOME TIME WHILE DRIVING IN THE DARK AND CAUSE ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. GIVEN THAT A NUMBER OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVE POSTED ON THE INTERNET THAT THEY HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, I THINK ITS WORTH LOOKING AT A POSSIBLE RECALL.
