ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKS WHEN I AM STOPPED AND START TO ACCELERATE TRYING TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC. I AM TRYING TO MOVE STRAIGHT AT TIMES, AND OTHER TIMES TURNING. AFTER TWO OR THREE PUSHES ON THE ACCELERATOR, IT WILL ENGAGE AND I CAN CONTINUE. I UNDERSTAND THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS MATTER, BUT MY VIN # IS NOT INCLUDED. (UNFORTUNATELY, I CANNOT FIND THE RECALL OR THE RECALL # ONLINE ANYMORE.) I FEEL THAT IT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED TO SEE IF OTHER VEHICLES ALSO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. MINE DOES, AND IT'S A SCARY FEELING TO SEE A VEHICLE COMING TOWARD YOU AT A FAST SPEED AND YOUR VEHICLE WON'T MOVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HONDA FIT. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL AND COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO STOP; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AN HOUR LATER WHEN PARKING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HONDA FIT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, SHE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE ENGINE REVVED. THE CONTACT SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL, TOOK HER FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION BUT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
THIS WAS THE FIRST OF TWO INCIDENTS OF SUDDEN ACCELERATION. BOTH TIMES PARKING THE CAR AND GIVING IT A LITTLE GAS TO EASE INTO A SPACE THE CAR TOOK OFF AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED; THE FIRST TIME, ALMOST CRASHING INTO MY GARAGE DOOR AND THE SECOND TIME JUMPING A SIDEWALK AND ALMOST HITTING A METAL HAND RAIL. I TOOK IT TO HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG, AND SAID I MUST HAVE HIT BOTH BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR AT SAME TIME. HOWEVER, SINCE MY FOOT IS TOO SMALL TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT, AND I WAS DRIVING BAREFOOT AT THE TIME, I AM POSITIVE THAT WAS NOT WHAT HAPPENED. AFTER RECEIVING CAR BACK, I CHECKED AND WAS UNABLE TO PLACE MY FOOT ON BOTH PEDALS AT THE SAME TIME. *TR
