NOTICED PAINT PEELING ON ROOF IN CHUNKS FROM MY UPSTAIRS WINDOW. GOT ESTIMATES TO REPAINT THINKING IT WAS DUE TO AGE. BOTH VENDORS ASKED IF IT HAD BEEN HIT AND REPAIRED ASSUMING THAT WAS THE CAUSE. I AM ORIGINAL OWNER WITH IT NEVER BEING HIT WHICH CAUSED ME TO CHECK FOR RECALL I MAY HAVE MISSED AFTER IT BEING DIAGNOSED AS A PRIMER ISSUE. DEALER SAID THE REP TOLD THEM THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. NOW I'M TOLD THAT EVEN GETTING IT REPAINTED BEFORE IT RUSTS WILL WORK SINCE THE INITIAL PRIMER IS THE ISSUE AND NEW PAINT WON'T STICK ANY BETTER THAN THE OLD. DON'T KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO KEEP IT LOOKING LIKE A TRASH VAN.
VEHICLE MAKES POPPING WHEN TURNING LEFT & RIGHT. THE SOUND IS COMING FROM THE FRONT STRUTS & SPRINGS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 2 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO NO AVAIL. THE CONTACT MANEUVERED THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE OVER SEVERAL SMALL TREES TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN AND EVENTUALLY CRASHED INTO A LARGE HEDGE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 202,389.
I PURCHASED FOUR GOODYEAR ASSURANCE TOURING P225/60 R16 97T TIRES AT SAM'S CLUB IN MARCH 2011. THESE WERE INSTALLED ON 2003 HONDA ODYSSEY LX. VEHICLE, INCLUDING TIRES, WERE WELL MAINTAINED; TIRES WERE BALANCED, ROTATED PERIODICALLY AND MONITORED BIWEEKLY FOR THE CORRECT LEVEL OF AIR PRESSURE. THE WHEELS WERE ALIGNED. THE VAN IS NON-COMMERCIAL; ONLY FAMILY / PERSONAL USE. AFTER 26 MONTHS AND 27900 MILES, ONE OF THE TIRES FAILED UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE IN USE. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS OF IMPENDING FAILURE. PASSENGER SIDE REAR TIRE FAILED BY BLOW-OUT AT 65 MPH. VEHICLE INCLUDING TIRES HAD BEEN SUBJECTED TO STATE SAFETY INSPECTION 16 DAYS BEFORE THE INCIDENT AND HAD PASSED. NOTHING WAS NOTED ABOUT THE CONDITION OF THE TIRES ON THE OCCASION OF THE STATE INSPECTION. THE TIRES HAD BEEN VISUALLY INSPECTED BY DRIVER AT THE LAST FUEL STOP BEFORE THE INCIDENT WITH NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY OBSERVED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT PREMATURELY FRAYED. THE CONTACT TOOK HER VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE ENTIRE SEAT BELT WAS PREMATURELY WORN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DECLINE TO PROVIDE FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
VEHICLE'S AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED UNEXPECTEDLY AFTER SHIFTING FROM SECOND TO THIRD GEAR, DISTRACTING THE DRIVER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PROCEEDING FROM A TRAFFIC STOP, SHE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE AT EXTREMELY LOW IMPACT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AS THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE FACE AND LIP FROM THE IMPACT OF THE AIR BAG. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 109,000.
THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR GLASS SEPARATED FROM ITS FRAMEWORK/BRACKET AND FELL INTO THE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING AT THE TIME - MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING IT I BELIEVE ON THE HIGHWAY. WHILE WE WERE GETTING THE VERY COSTLY REPAIR DONE, ANOTHER WOMAN WAS THERE WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE - I JUST HAPPENED TO OVERHEAR HER - RIGHT AFTER THE MAINTENANCE REP INFORMED ME THAT HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF IT HAPPENING. I AM SUBMITTING IT NOW BECAUSE I REALIZE IF PEOPLE DON'T SPEAK UP, NOTHING WILL BE INVESTIGATED. WE NO LONGER OWN THIS VEHICLE AND WE GAVE ALL THE MAINTENANCE RECORDS TO THE GAL WE SOLD IT TO. IT WAS REPAIRED BY PARK HONDA IN AKRON OHIO AND WE CAN ONLY ESTIMATE THE TIMEFRAME AND THE MILEAGE. IF NEEDED, I COULD TRY TO FIND OLD CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS THAT MIGHT NARROW IT DOWN.
ON FRIDAY APRIL 26, 2013, MY WIFE WITH MY THREE SMALL CHILDREN WERE TRAVELING ON AN EXPRESSWAY AT 45MPH. SUDDENLY SHE HEARD A NOISE AND THE CAR SPEED WAS DROPPED UNEXPECTEDLY. SHE WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. ON MONDAY APRIL 29, SHE BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WITH ERROR CODE P0730 INCORRECT GEAR RATION 39. TO FIX THIS PROBLEM, THIS DEALERSHIP QUOTED FOR $5,000. I CONTACTED HONDA ON THE SAME DAY AND ASKED FOR THEIR ASSISTANCE. THE CASE MANAGER TOLD ME THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND HONDA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PART FAILURE. PRIOR TO THIS FAILURE, I BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE RECENT RECALL ON THIS TRANSMISSION. THIS CAR HAS REGULARLY MAINTAINED AND HAD NO MAJOR ISSUES RECENTLY. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE AND HONDA MUST BE IMMEDIATELY ADDRESSED. THEY SHOULD STANDBY THEIR PRODUCTS AND BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING AT NO CHARGE TO THE CONSUMERS WHO PAID A LOT MORE FOR THE COMPARABLE CARS. *TR
I JUST BOUGHT USED 2003 HONDA ODYSSEY WITH 160K MILES AND TRANSMISSION IS GETTING STUCK BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEAR. I LOOKED ONLINE AND SEEMS THAT MY MODEL HAS SAME ISSUE WITH 10000S OF CAR. I LIKE TO HAVE HONDA REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION FREE OF COST. I READ THAT THERE IS SAFETY ISSUE WHILE DRIVING WITH THIS ISSUE. I AM AFRAID IF I AM DRIVING AND I COULD GET STRANDED IN MIDDLE OF ROAD IF GEAR GETS STUCK. *TR
WAS EXITING TOLL GATE ON I-70 AT KANSAS CITY AND TRANSMISSION FLUID CAME POURING OUT OF THE BOTTOM OF THE TRANNY CASE. I HAD THE TRANSMISSION REGULARLY SERVICED AND APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS BEFORE THIS AT SERVICE NOTHING UNUSUAL WAS DETECTED. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO TOPEKA TRANSMISSION SERVICE, INC. THE TRANSMISSION WAS CHANGED. IN TAKING MY HONDA TO THE TOPEKA HONDA DEALERSHIP FOR TWO OTHER RECALLS, THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS ALSO A TRANSMISSION RECALL, NHTSA-04V-176000. BECAUSE MY TRANSMISSION HAD ALREADY FAILED AND BEEN REPLACED THEY DID NOTHING. I CONTACTED HONDA MOTORS AMERICA. THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY WOULD DO AS I COULD NOT PROVE THAT WHAT HAPPENED WAS A RESULT OF THAT RECALL. I TOLD THEM THEY COULD NOT PROVE THAT IS WAS NOT. I REQUEST YOUR ASSISTANCE IN RECEIVING COMPENSATION FOR THIS RECALL THAT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED ABOUT AND THE SUBSEQUENT TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL. THE SRS WARNING LIGHT, INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAGS, ILLUMINATES PERIODICALLY. SOMETIMES WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON, THE SRS LIGHT GOES OUT, BUT IT HAS BEEN COMING ON MORE AND MORE OFTEN. *TR
2003 HONDA ODYSSEY WAS BROUGHT INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AN INTERLOCK RECALL. AFTER WORK WAS COMPLETED AND LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED VIOLENTLY. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT IN. *TR
WE WERE RETURNING FROM A FAMILY VACATION TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM AT 70 MPH WHEN, WITHOUT ANY WARNING, ALL THE DIALS ON THE DASHBOARD (SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER, ETC) SUDDENLY WENT TO ZERO THEN IMMEDIATELY RETURNED TO NORMAL. I ALSO NOTICED A BURNING SMELL. ABOUT TWO MINUTES LATER, WHILE STILL TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST ALL ACCELERATION. SO WE PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ABOUT A MINUTE AFTER WE PULLED OVER, THE VEHICLE CEASED ALL OPERATIONS. MY INITIAL EFFORTS TO RESTART THE VEHICLE WERE UNSUCCESSFUL, BUT AFTER 5 MINUTES, I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. AGAIN, THE VEHICLE CEASED OPERATIONS AFTER A FEW MINUTES. AFTER INVESTIGATING THE VEHICLE, WE DECIDED TO CALL A TOW TRUCK. WHILE SITTING ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY WAITING FOR THE TOW TRUCK, WE TURNED ON THE VEHICLE AGAIN TO OPERATE THE AIR CONDITIONING. AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES, WE NOTICED THE BURNING SMELL AND PUFFS OF SMOKE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. WE TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND WAITED FOR THE TOW TRUCK. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP TO WHICH THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH AND FIXED THE PROBLEM. THEY INFORMED ME THE IGNITION SWITCH "BURNED UP" INSIDE. I STILL HAVE THE PART, IF YOU CARE TO INSPECT IT. WE WERE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE REMAINDER OF OUR 700 MILE JOURNEY HOME. PLEASE NOTE THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THE PROBLEM I EXPERIENCED WAS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM THE RECENT SAFETY RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE (RECALL 13-011) FOR THE IGNITION SHIFT INTERLOCK PROBLEM. WHILE I NORMALLY DO NOT FILE COMPLAINTS OF THIS NATURE, I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT TO BRING THIS ISSUE TO YOUR ATTENTION. BASED ON MY RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET, I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. THANKFULLY, NO ONE WAS INJURED IN MY INCIDENT. HOWEVER, IT IS VERY POSSIBLE THAT SERIOUS INJURY CAN OCCUR WHEN A VEHICLE TRAVELING AT 70 MPH LOSES POWER WITHOUT ANY WARNING. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS ABLE TO REMOVE HIS KEY FROM THE IGNITION WITHOUT THE GEAR SHIFT BEING SECURED IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED FOR THE FAILURE AFTER THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVED TO THE SHOULDER AND WAS TOWED TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A BRITAX MARATHON CHILD SEAT, MANUFACTURED IN FEBRUARY 2007. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER LATCHING HER CHILD INTO THE SEAT AND BEGAN TO DRIVE, THE LATCH SLOWLY LOOSENED AND CAUSED THE CHILD TO BECOME UNSECURED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE ENGINE MOTOR MOUNTS CRACK OR FAIL PREMATURELY. DEFECT IS UNRELATED TO DRIVER BEHAVIOR AND IS SOLELY A FUNCTION OF DESIGN. FAILED MOUNTS CAN BOTH CAUSE ACCIDENTS AND CREATE A PROJECTILE FROM IMPACT. ON-LINE RESEARCH, SUCH AS THE CAR TALK COMMUNITY, SUGGEST THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH ODYSSEYS OVER 65,000 MILES. *TR
THE CAR HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM. I WAS DRIVING JUST FINE WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED AND IT FELT LIKE THE CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL. I WAS PRESSING THE GAS, BUT NO POWER WAS GIVEN TO THE CAR. I COULD BRAKE AND STEER JUST FINE SO I PULLED OVER AND PUT THE CAR INTO PARK. IT ENGAGED INTO GEAR FINE AND I CONTINUED ON. THIS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN SLIPPING IN AND OUT WHILE DRIVING. I WOULDN'T EVEN HAVE TO STOP AND PUT INTO PARK, I WOULD SLIP "OUT" OF GEAR AND FEEL LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. I WOULD PUMP THE GAS A FEW TIMES, AND REV UP THE ENGINE AND THEN IT WOULD MAGICALLY ENGAGE INTO GEAR. HONDA DEALERSHIP STATED THE TRANSMISSION WAS BAD, STATED THAT PIECES OF METAL WERE IN MY FLUID AND MY ENTIRE TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACEMENT. ESTIMATE $2K-4K - WILL KNOW MORE WHEN THEY BREAK IT OPEN TO FIND OUT. HONDA AMERICA STATES THAT I HAD TAKEN THE VAN IN FOR THE TRANSMISSION RECALL IN 2005 - I DON'T RECALL DOING THAT, BUT IF I DID WHY IS IT HAPPENING? NOW THE VAN WILL NOT PASS THE CA SMOG TEST SIMPLY FOR FUNCTIONAL CHECK PORTION. THE EMISSION PORTION IS FINE. SEEMS THE REPAIRS EXCEED THE VALUE OF THE CAR. WORKING WITH HONDA AMERICA TO GET WARRANTY OR RECALL TO OFFSET THE COST OF REPAIR. AT THIS POINT, THE CAR IS DEEMED NON OPERATIONAL. *TR
ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 15TH, AT APPROXIMATELY 7:00 PM, I WAS DRIVING OUR 2003 HONDA ODYSSEY WITH MY FAMILY WHEN WE EXPERIENCED A SPONTANEOUS AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT WHILE WAITING AT A STOPLIGHT. THERE WAS NO ONE IN FRONT OR BEHIND US AND I WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED AT THE RED LIGHT. THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED FIRST WITH A LOUD "POP". TWO TO THREE SECONDS LATER THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED (WHERE MY WIFE WAS SITTING). FORTUNATELY, BOTH OF US WERE SITTING BACK IN OUR SEATS AND I HAD MY HANDS OFF THE STEERING WHEEL. NEITHER OF US WERE CONTACTED BY THE AIRBAGS THERE WAS A THIRD LOUD "POP" A COUPLE OF SECONDS AFTER THE DEPLOYMENTS. THE SEATBELT TENSIONERS ALSO ENGAGED AND NOW DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CONFIRMED THAT WE HAD NOT BEEN STRUCK BY ANYONE OR ANYTHING. I BROUGHT THE VAN INTO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP FOR AN INSPECTION, WHERE WE HAD PURCHASED IT A LITTLE MORE THAN TWO YEARS EARLIER. THE INSPECTION REPORT STATES THAT, "DURING SERVICE INSPECTION DID NOT LOCATE ANY OBVIOUS IMPACTS AND/OR DAMAGE." THE DEALERSHIP PULLED CODES 53-41 AND 54-50, BUT SAID THEY COULD NOT GET ANYMORE INFORMATION FROM THE SRS UNIT UNTIL WE HAD THEM REPLACE THE AIRBAGS. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP THEN GAVE US A QUOTE OF OVER $4100 TO FIX THE AIRBAGS AND SEATBELTS. I CONTACTED HONDA OF AMERICA AND ASKED THAT THE CAUSE FOR THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT BE INVESTIGATED FURTHER. IT TOOK ALMOST A MONTH TO GET A CORPORATE HONDA REPRESENTATIVE TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP AS THE FIRST INSPECTION. LAST NIGHT I RECEIVED THE RESULTS OF THE SECOND INSPECTION, WHICH GAVE NO POTENTIAL REASONS FOR THE DEPLOYMENT. WE LEFT THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALERSHIP, ASKING FOR MORE SPECIFIC DOCUMENTATION ON POTENTIAL CAUSES. MY WIFE AND I BELIEVE THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT WAS THE RESULT OF A SAFETY DEFECT, AND HONDA OF AMERICA HAS REFUSED TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT IF THE DOORS OPEN, THEY DO SO WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ELECTRIC BALL USED TO OPEN THE DOORS HAD FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE DOORS WERE NOT UNDER RECALL AND THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 13V412000 (AIRBAGS). HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. MY HUSBAND PARKED OUR 2003 HONDA ODYSSEY IN OUR DRIVEWAY, ALONGSIDE THE MAIN ENTRANCE TO OUR HOME. HE REMOVED THE KEY AND WENT INSIDE, PLACING THE KEY IN THE USUAL LOCATION. HE CHANGED HIS SHIRT, INTENDING TO REMOVE FROM THE CAR THE 4' X 8' SHEET OF EXTERIOR PLYWOOD HE HAD JUST PURCHASED. WHEN HE WENT BACK OUTSIDE, THE CAR HAD ROLLED BACKWARDS DOWN OUR DRIVEWAY AND ACROSS THE ROAD, AND WAS FLOATING IN THE LAKE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF OUR HOME. THE CAR SLOWLY SUNK TO THE BOTTOM OF THE LAKE. A TOW TRUCK WAS CALLED AND A DIVER LOCATED THE VEHICLE IN THE 15 FOOT DEEP WATER. THE INSURANCE COMPANY "TOTALED" THE CAR, AND SAID THE INCIDENT WAS THE FAULT OF THE DRIVER, FOR NOT PUTTING THE CAR IN "PARK", EVEN THOUGH THE KEY HAD BEEN REMOVED. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW IN MAY 2003. IN 2004, AN OIL COOLER WAS INSTALLED BY THE DEALERSHIP AS A RESULT OF HONDA AMERICA RECALL (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID: 04V176000). ON 10/05/2012, ENGINE AND TCS LIGHTS CAME ON. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO REPAIR SHOP THE NEXT DAY. THEY INFORMED ME THE CODES ON THE COMPUTER WERE P0700 - AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAULT AND P0740 - TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH MALFUNCTION. THE CODES WERE CLEARED AND THEY TEST DROVE VEHICLE AND LIGHTS DID NOT COME BACK ON NOR WERE THERE ANY SYMPTOMS OF ANY TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THEY SUGGESTED THAT I TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE NEXT DAY THE SAME LIGHTS CAME BACK ON AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE TRANSMISSION FAILED COMPLETELY. *TR

THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE EIGHT YEARS PRIOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A RETURN CALL. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
I NOTICED QUITE A BIT OF OIL LEAKING ON THE GARAGE FLOOR AND TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE HEAD GASKET WAS LEAKING AND THERE WERE 2 KNOWN ISSUES THAT MAY BE THE CAUSE: A HEAD BOLT ISSUE OR ENGINE PITTING. THEY WOULDN'T KNOW UNTIL THEY 'OPENED IT UP'. IT TURNED OUT TO BE THE HEAD BOLT FOR CYLINDER #6, WHICH THEY SAID SEEMED TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE ON THE INTERNET AND OTHER SITES THEY HAD ACCESS TO. HONDA IS EVEN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AS THEY CREATED A REPAIR KIT SPECIFICALLY FOR THE ISSUE. WHEN OUR CERTIFIED MECHANIC CALLED THE DEALER, THE DEALER RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE ENGINE, WHICH WAS OBVIOUSLY WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. THEY THEN RECOMMENDED THE TIME-SERT THREAD REPAIR KIT. ONCE THE MECHANIC GOT INTO THINGS THEY ALSO REALIZED THAT 2 OF THE BOLTS WERE STRIPPED, SO THEY REPAIRED BOTH. I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH HONDA AUTOMOBILE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS BASICALLY TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN (OR WILL) DO TO HELP OFFSET THE $2500 REPAIR COST FOR THIS KNOWN ISSUE. IT IS TERRIBLE THAT HONDA OFFERS NO ASSISTANCE DESPITE THIS CLEARLY BEING A DEFECT IN THE STRENGTH OF THE BOLT OR THE THREADING PROCESS. THERE ARE JUST TOO MANY OTHER INSTANCES OF THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AND THE EXACT SAME CYLINDER NUMBER.
