NOW WE'VE ALL HAD MANY CARS AND SOME DO BETTER THAN OTHERS. THE HONDA PAINT HAS TO RANK LAST ON A LONG LIST OF PAST PAINT JOBS. IT HAS LITERALLY PEELED OFF THE TOP OF THE CAR BY THE WINDOW AND SUNROOF AND HAS LOST ITS CLEAR COAT SO THE PAINT JUST DOESN'T LOOK GOOD. WHEN YOU ASK THEM ABOUT IT THEY RESPONDED WE DON'T COVER THAT . HONDA, YOU MAKE SUCH A GOOD CAR BUT CANT GET THE PAINT RIGHT? C'MON. I SEE MORE WHITE HONDA VANS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AS MINE. THIS IS AWFUL WE HAVE NOW MADE A GAME OUT OF IT CALLED I SPY, WHO CAN FIND THE WHITE HONDA ODYSSEY WITH THE SAME PAINT PEELING SPOTS LIKE OURS. WE DO A LOT OF DRIVING LOCAL AND ROAD TRIPS.YOU WOULD BE AMAZED HOW MANY THERE ARE OUT THERE. HONDA THERE IS SOMETHING YOU COULD DO. ITS EMBARRASSING TO DIVE THIS CAR AROUND. BUT ITS A GREAT RUNNING CAR WITH NOTHING WRONG PUT THE PAINT PEELING. NOT COOL.
APPLIED BRAKES TO BEGIN TO TURN INTO A PARKING LOT - BRAKES HAVE BEEN VERY SOFT FOR MONTHS NOW - THIS TIME, THEY DID NOT ENGAGE FOR A BRIEF MOMENT - LESS THAN A SECOND AND THEN ENGAGED WITH USUAL "SOFT" FEEL. PEDAL GOES DOWN ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 55-60 MPH A FLAT OCCURRED. MY WIFE PULLED OVER AFTER ABOUT 200 YARDS. I ARRIVED A FEW MINUTES LATER. LOOKING AT THE TIRE AND RIM, IT IS APPARENT THAT A HARD OBJECT BOTH PUNCTURED AND DAMAGED THE RIM. THIS IS NOT THE POINT OF CONCERN AS IT SEEMS CUSTOMARY FOR A FLAT TIRE. HOWEVER, TWO LARGE (15X3 INCH) PIECES OF THE RIM BROKE OFF. THIS SEEMED EXTREMELY UNUSUAL AFTER SUCH A PUNCTURE AND SHORT FOLLOWUP DRIVE. I HAVE NEVER BEEN AWARE OF SUCH AN OCCURRENCE. WHEN I CALLED THE HONDA DEALER, THE SERVICE PERSON HAD NOT HEARD OF IT EITHER. *TR
BRAKE SOFT PEDAL/WEAK PERFORMANCE - LONGER STOPPING DISTANCE I STRONGLY FEEL THE BRAKE PEDAL IS SOFT AND THE PERFORMANCE IS NOT GOOD. IT HAS A LONGER STOPPING DISTANCE. CURRENT MILEAGE IS ABOUT 50K MILES. AT 30K THE BRAKE FLUID WAS REPLACED AS RECOMMENDED BY A DEALER, ALONG WITH OTHER MAJOR MAINTENANCE SCHEDULED. STILL I FELT THE SAME ISSUE AT 45K, BUT THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT PADS OF THE BRAKE ONE YEAR AGO, BUT THE PROBLEM REMAINED AS OF NOW. IN THE BEGINNING I THOUGHT BECAUSE IT IS A BIGGER CAR AND HONDA'S BRAKE STYLE. BUT I FOUND OTHER SIMILAR MINIVAN I RENTED FOR A TRAVEL HAD A TIGHT AND GOOD PERFORMING BRAKING SYSTEM, AND ALSO I PURCHASED A HONDA CR-V THIS JANUARY WHICH HAS A VERY TIGHT AND GOOD PERFORMING BRAKE AS WELL. IN THE MEAN TIME, I FOUND A PREVIOUS BRAKE RELATED RECALL FOR THE HONDA ODYSSEY 2007-8 MODELS. MY 2010 MODEL HAS THE SIMILAR BRAKE PROBLEM WITH THE OLDER MODELS - SOFT BRAKE PEDAL. I AM NOT SURE HOW HONDA HAS SOLVED THE PREVIOUS PROBLEM AND WHETHER IS THERE ANY SIMILAR PROBLEM POSSIBLY REMAINING IN THE LATER MODEL. SIMPLE BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT/ROTOR POLISHING AND SO ON, CAN NOT SOLVE THIS SOFT BRAKE PEDAL PROBLEM. DEALER HAS NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM BUT SIMPLY REPLACING MY FRONT BRAKE PAD AND ADJUSTMENT OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM. I AM AFRAID THIS PROBLEM IS VERY SIMILAR TO THE PREVIOUS HONDA ODYSSEY 2007-8 MODEL PROBLEMS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V112000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT. I WAS APPROXIMATELY 3-4 FEET FROM THE CURB IN FRONT OF ME. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE AND I WAS SLOWING TO A STOP WHEN THE VAN SUDDENLY ACCELERATED EXTREMELY RAPIDLY (AND WAS NOT RESPONSIVE TO BRAKE APPLICATION ) AND SLAMMED INTO THE CURB IN FRONT OF ME, CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END. I VERIFIED THAT THE FLOOR MATS WERE NOT NEAR THE ACCELERATOR. *JS
I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE INTO BOTH A TIRES PLUS AND ZIMBRICK HONDA (MADISON,WI) REGARDING WHAT I WOULD CALL A VERY SOFT BRAKE PEDAL FEEL. BOTH SERVICE DEPARTMENTS AGREED THAT THERE WAS PLENTY OF LIFE ON THE ROTORS/PADS. BOTH FLUSHED THE BRAKE FLUID. HOWEVER THE BRAKE PEDAL STILL NEEDS TO BE PRESSED 2/3 OF THE WAY DOWN TO STOP THE VEHICLE. *TR
DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT LATCH/LOCK AND WAS TOLD THIS CAN CAUSE AIR BAG DEPLOYING PROBLEMS AS WELL AS DOOR COULD OPEN. HAD TO REPLACE POWER LATCH MECHANISM. THIS ALSO HAPPENED TO THE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR AROUND A MONTH AGO. THIS IS STRANGE SINCE MY WIFE AND I ARE IN OUR 70'S AND VERY SELDOM USE THESE DOORS. *TR
FOR THE SECOND TIME THE REAR PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK CLOSED AND THE WARNING TONE SOUNDED. WHEN I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR HE SAID THAT THE AIR BAGS COULD DEPLOY IF IT WASN'T FIXED. THE DOOR LATCH HAD TO BE REPLACED. I AM 71 YEARS OLD AND THE DOOR IS VERY SELDOM USED BY MY WIFE AND I. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE FACT THAT THE DOOR COULD HAVE COME LOOSE AND DEPLOYED THE AIR BAGS WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I'D LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS IS HAPPENING TO OTHER HONDA VEHICLES. I DO HAVE THE OLD PART IF THAT WOULD HELP. *TR
TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I HAVE A CONCERN ABOUT GRINDING NOISE FROM THE REAR BRAKES WHEN BACKING UP. I WAS TOLD THAT THE NOISE IS COMING FROM THE PARKING BRAKE PADS. I COULD LET THEM SAND THE EDGES FOR $200.00, BUT THE PROBLEM WOULD PROBABLY RETURN. AT THAT POINT I DECLINED TO HAVE ANYTHING DONE TO THE PARKING BRAKE. I WAS TOLD THAT NO HARM WOULD BE DONE TO THE VEHICLE WHILE THIS IS HAPPENING. I THINK THAT HONDA SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS MATTER BECAUSE I CONSIDER BRAKING A VERY SERIOUS MATTER, ESPECIALLY AT SOME POINT IN TIME IF YOU CANNOT STOP. *TR
TAIL LIGHTS ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO WATER PENETRATION WHICH WILL EVENTUALLY SHORT OUT THE TAIL LIGHTS. THIS APPLIES TO THE PORTION OF THE TAIL LIGHT WHICH IS ATTACHED TO THE REAR HATCH DOOR. WATER ACCUMULATES IN THE WHITE PART OF THE LENS WHICH IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TAIL LIGHT IN 201 VAN (I.E., THE BACK UP LIGHTS). THERE IS APPARENTLY A DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN THE SEALED LIGHT SYSTEM. I HAVE HAD THE GASKET ON THE LEFT TAIL LIGHT REPLACED IN MY 2010 ODYSSEY DUE TO WATER PENETRATION & COLLECTION. THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED AND THE DEALER CONFIRMED NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE GASKET. *TR
I GOT INTO THE CAR WITH MY CHILDREN ON JAN 3RD AT ABOUT 11:30 AM. AS WE WERE APPROACHING THE HIGHWAY ON-RAMP, THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED (BRAKE) FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON WHILE I HAD MY FOOT ON THE GAS! I MADE A U-TURN TO GET AWAY FROM THE ON-RAMP AND GO HOME. THE CAR WAS NOT DRIVING RIGHT. THE CAR SLOWED/STOPPED 2 MORE TIMES. I WAS ON MY STREET, WHEN THE "BRAKES WENT OUT". I COASTED INTO MY DRIVEWAY. SMOKE BEGAN BILLOWING OUT OF FRONT WHEEL WELLS. WHEN I WAS TURNING OFF THE IGNITION, THE VSA LIGHT CAME ON. I DIDN'T KNOW IF THE CAR WAS ON FIRE, SO I RUSHED MY KIDS OUT OF THE CAR AND CALLED 911. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL SMOKING, HOT, AND SMELLING. I HAD CAR TOWED. THE DEALERSHIP CALLED AND WAS GOING TO GET HONDA INVOLVED. THEY COULD NOT SEE ANY PROBLEMS AND COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE EVENT. MY SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THAT THE CAR WAS "DRIVABLE", BUT DIDN'T FEEL COMFORTABLE LETTING ME TAKE IT. I SAID THAT I DIDN'T FEEL COMFORTABLE TAKING IT BECAUSE I CAN?T TRUST ITS SAFETY. JANUARY 5- I HAVE BEEN DOING A LOT OF RESEARCH ABOUT A VERY RECENT RECALL ON THIS EXACT PROBLEM. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH A YAW SENSOR TELLING THE VSA SYSTEM TO ENGAGE WHILE THE CAR IS ACCELERATING WITHOUT THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURNING ON. NOW IT ALL MAKES SENSE! THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT MY CAR IS NOT NAMED IN THIS RECALL. ONLY 2007-2008 HONDA ODYSSEY OWNERS WERE NOTIFIED. I HAVE A 2010. ACCORDING TO THE DOCUMENTS, HONDA DOES NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT WILL EXPLAIN TO OWNERS WHAT TO DO IN CASE THIS SUDDEN STOPPING OCCURS. I AM DUMBFOUNDED! THERE IS NOT A CHANCE THAT MY CHILDREN AND I WILL GET INTO THAT CAR WITH "INSTRUCTIONS" IN THE EVENT THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. IT SEEMS THAT THE PROBLEM IS NOT CONTAINED TO 2007-2008 MODELS. IT IS QUITE OBVIOUS THAT HONDA NEEDS TO EXPAND ITS INITIAL RECALL. I THINK THEY SHOULD BE WARNED ABOUT THIS POTENTIALLY DEADLY PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR SLIDING DOORS FAILED TO REMAIN OPEN TO ALLOW THE PASSENGERS TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, A PASSENGER WAS NEARLY INJURED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
VAN HAS A SIGNIFICANT SHAKE (OR "JUDDER", SHUDDER, VIBRATION, OR SHIMMY) WHEN ACCELERATING BETWEEN 50 AND 75 MPH. ENTIRE VEHICLE SHAKES, SIMILAR TO ONE OR MORE TIRES BEING OUT OF BALANCE BUT MUCH WORSE. JUDDER GOES AWAY COMPLETELY AND INSTANTLY WHEN I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR. DURING THIS PERIOD I HAD THREE ALL-WHEEL ALIGNMENTS AND SEVERAL TIRE BALANCINGS, BUT NOTHING WORK. IT WAS ONLY RECENTLY WHEN I NOTICED IT ONLY OCCURRED WHILE ACCELERATING AND SO IT WASN'T A TIRE OR ALIGNMENT PROBLEM. *TR
SUBJECT: 2008-2009-2010 HONDA ODYSSEY TAIL LIGHT DEFECTS COMMENTS: 2008-2009-2010 HONDA ODYSSEY TAIL LIGHTS ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO WATER PENETRATION WHICH WILL EVENTUALLY SHORT OUT THE TAIL LIGHTS. THIS APPLIES TO THE PORTION OF THE TAIL LIGHT WHICH IS ATTACHED TO THE REAR HATCH DOOR. WATER ACCUMULATES IN THE WHITE PART OF THE LENS WHICH IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TAIL LIGHT IN THESE MODEL YEARS (I.E., THE BACK UP LIGHTS). MY 21 MONTH OLD CHILD WAS STANDING AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE IN OUR GARAGE AS I GOT THINGS OUT OF THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO CLOSING THE DOOR. I PUSHED THE BUTTON THAT AUTOMATICALLY CLOSES THE DOOR AS I LEANED INTO THE DRIVER SIDE TO RETRIEVE ITEMS FROM THE VEHICLE. I HEARD MY CHILD SCREAMING AND I LOOKED DOWN AND SAW THAT THE DOOR HAD CLOSED ON HER ENTIRE HAND UP TO HER WRIST. NOT ONLY DID THE SAFETY FEATURE FAIL THAT IS SUPPOSE TO DETECT BODY PARTS IN THE PATH OF THE DOOR, BUT THE DOOR ALSO WOULD NOT OPEN. I HAD TO USE ALL OF MY BODY WEIGHT TO PRY THE DOOR OFF OF HER HAND. THIS INCIDENT RESULTED IN A BLOODY AND BRUISED FINGER THAT HAD THE NAIL RIPPED OF IT. *TR
THE FIRST TIME WE HAD AN ISSUE WE WERE IN THE COUNTRY AND WE STOPPED AND GOT OUT OF THE CAR. WHEN WE GOT BACK IN THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. WE PUT THE SWITCH ON MANUAL HOWEVER THE DOOR WOULD STILL NOT CLOSE. WE HAD IT LOOKED AT AND THE LINE THAT WORKS THE DOOR NEEDED TO BE CUT TO CLOSE THE DOOR. WITHIN A WEEK THE OTHER DOOR STARTED NOT OPENING AND CLOSING PROPERLY EVEN WHEN IT WAS SET FOR MANUAL USE. WE WERE THE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE DOOR FLEW OPEN. WE DID CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INDICATED THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM HOWEVER ITS THE CONSUMERS RESPONSIBILTY TO PAY TO HAVE THIS SAFETY ISSUE FIXED. *TR
WAS DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED WHEN ENGINE ENCOUNTERED A SEVERE ROUGH IDLES AND LOST POWER. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND VEHICLE STABILITY & TRACTION CONTROL FAILURE LIGHTS ALSO ILLUMINATED. HONDA DEALER PROXIMATE TO INCIDENT DIAGNOSED AS FOULED SPARK PLUG RELATED TO CYLINDER DEACTIVATION SYSTEM IN CAR. INTERNET RESEARCH INDICATES THAT THIS IS A KNOWN AND COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH HONDA CARS HAVING A V6 ENGINE WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION. *TR
BACK IN JUN 2013, I NOTICED "PASSENGER SIDE" TAIL LIGHT (REVERSE GEAR LIGHT BOX) WAS FULL OF WATER AFTER RAIN. APPROX MILEAGE WAS 28,000. I HAD IT REPLACED WITHIN A MONTH BECAUSE IT MIGHT CAUSE SERIOUS ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT ISSUES. NOW 2 YEARS AFTER IN JULY 2015, I SEE ANOTHER SIDE WHICH IS "DRIVER SIDE" TAIL LIGHT IS BEING FILLED WITH WATER AFTER EACH RAIN. THE MILEAGE ON THE CAR IS NOW 35,800. I BELIEVE PARTS ON RIGHT SIDE AND LEFT SIDE BOTH WERE FAULTY AND FAILED WITHIN 35,000 MILES AND 5 YEARS. PER TECHNICIAN, THIS MAY CAUSE SERIOUS ELECTRIC CIRCUIT ISSUES.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON 6/23/2013. THE PERSON IN FRONT OF THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME STOPPED AT A GREEN LIGHT. THE PERSON BEHIND THAT PERSON SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES AND I, IN TURN, HAD TO SLAM ON MY BRAKES. I WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP IN TIME AND CRASHED INTO THE BACK OF HER CAR. I WAS DOING BETWEEN 15-20 WHEN I HIT HER AND MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE AIRBAG LIGHTS LIT UP FOR THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER, BUT THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. BECAUSE OF THIS I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED AS THE POLICE OFFICER DETERMINED THE VAN WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. *TR
REAR TAILLIGHTS ON LEFT AND RIGHT SIDES FILL WITH WATER AFTER RAIN FALL. ACCUMULATING WATER HAS LEAD TO WATER FLOW INTO INTERIOR TRANSFERRING CAUSTIC SUBSTANCES INTO PASSENGER AREA THAT HAVE BURNED INTERIOR CARPET IN REAR COMPARTMENT FORTUNATELY CHEMICAL BURNING WAS DISCOVERED AND NEUTRALIZED BEFORE MAJOR FIRE ENSUED. DEALERSHIP STATED NOT A KNOWN ISSUE, NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. STATE INSPECTION SITE WILL NOT PASS VEHICLE SAFETY INSPECTION BECAUSE OF ELECTRICAL FIRE DANGER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNIGN LIGHT FLASHED INTERMITTENTLY FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE NOR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SENSOR MAT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
MY TODDLER TRAVELS WITH ME UP TO 4 ROUND TRIPS A DAY. IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS, HER CARSEAT HAS BEEN GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO UNCLICK. YOU HAVE TO PUSH VERY HARD TO GET THE RED BUTTON TO CLICK OPEN. SOMETIMES ONE SIDE WOULD CLICK OPEN, THEN THE NEXT TIME BOTH SIDES WOULD STICK. TODAY, WE WERE ON AN OUTING (FOR MOTHER'S DAY), AND WE SPENT OVER 45 MINS. TRYING TO UNBUCKLE HER FROM THE SEAT. I TRIED VERY HARD AS WELL AS A LARGE GENTLEMAN NEARBY IN THE PARKING LOT WHO HAPPENED TO NOTICE ME IN DISTRESS. MY TODDLER BECAME INCREASINGLY UPSET AS IT WAS GETTING SCARY FOR HER. THE MAN WAS ALSO SHOCKED TO SEE THAT HE WASN'T GETTING IT UNBUCKLED WITH STRONG FORCE. WE DEBATED CUTTING IT APART; WE ALSO DEBATED CALLING 911 TO HAVE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT UNLEASH IT. I RULED BOTH OUT BECAUSE WE WANTED TO GIVE IT A FEW MORE MINUTES. SO TO GET HER OUT, WE LOOSENED UP THE STRAPS AS MUCH AS WE COULD AND SQUEEZED HER FROM THE SEAT. WE SPENT ANOTHER TEN MINUTES OR SO CONTINUALLY TRYING TO UNCLICK THE BELT. IT'S SHOCKING TO ME - ALTHOUGH THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE. IT HAS NEVER TAKEN MORE THAN 3-5 MINUTES TO UNCLICK THE HARNESS. I'VE GOT NO CHOICE BUT TO KEEP USING THE SEAT UNTIL WE CAN GET RESOLUTION FROM GRACO. I DO PLAN ON CONTACTING THEM FIRST THING IN THE MORNING (MONDAY MORNING 5/13/2013) WITH THE HOPE THAT THEY WILL ALLOW ME TO RECEIVE ANOTHER MODEL OF CARSEAT - AND RETURN THIS ONE TO THEM. IN THE END OF AUGUST THE POWER WINDOWS STOPPED WORKING IN OUR ODYSSEY. WHEN I DROPPED THE CAR OFF AT THE DEALER TO FIX THE WINDOWS, THE ALARM SYSTEM DID NOT RECOGNIZE THE KEYS AND WENT OFF EVERY TIME THE DEALER TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR. I BROUGHT IN MY WIFE'S SET OF KEYS TO SEE IF THAT WOULD RESOLVE THE ISSUE BUT IT DID NOT. THE CAR NO LONGER RECOGNIZES EITHER KEY OR KEY FOB AND TRIGGERS THE ALARM WHENEVER I UNLOCK AND OPEN THE DOORS. ADDITIONALLY, THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE KEY FOB SOMEHOW CAUSED MY WINDOWS TO GO DOWN SO THEY ARE STUCK DOWN AND NO BUTTONS, DOOR LOCKS, WINDOWS, POWER SLIDING DOORS, OR REAR TAILGATE LIFT WORK. HONDA DOES NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND HAS BEEN RESISTANT TO HELP FIX THE CA DESPITE IT STILL BEING UNDER WARRANTY. *TR

PUSH THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LATCH BUTTON AGAIN AND IT STAYED LATCHED FOR ABOUT 7 MILES AND IT WOULD UNLATCH ITSELF AND THE ALARM WOULD GO OFF. TELLING YOU THE SLIDINGDOOR WAS UNLATCHED. I TOOK THE VAN TO RYDELL'S HONDA DEALER IN GRAND FORKS, ND THEY REPLACE THE LATCH AND ROLLERS ON BOTH SLIDING DOORS. THEY SAID IT HAPPENS WHEN YOU LIVE ON GRAVEL ROADS AND THE ROLLERS AND LATCHES WOULD GET WORE BECAUSE THE ROLLERS AND PART OF THE LATCH IS MADE OF PLASTIC. HONDA SERVICE MANAGER TOLD US TO TRY TO KEEP THE ROLLER GUIDES CLEAN AND PRESSURE WASH THE ROLLER GUIDE REALLY WELL. WE DID THIS FOR ABOUT A YEAR CLEAN THE THE GUIDES BIWEEKLY AND WE HAD THE SAME TROUBLES AGAIN. THIS TIME HONDA REPLACED ON LATCH ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND THREE WEEKS LATER THE OTHER SIDE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM TOO. WE WERE LUCKILY THIS ONLY HAD HAPPEN CLOSE TO TOWN AND WE NEVER WERE IN AN ACCIDENT WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED. THE DOORS WOULD COME UNLATCHED WITHOUT NOTICE AND THE DOOR WILL BE OPEN ABOUT AN INCH OR TWO. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU TRY TO SHUT THE DOORS MANUALLY OR AUTOMATIC IT WILL STILL OPEN AND UNLATCH ON ITS OWN WHEN EVER IT WOULD LIKE TOO. WE ONLY LIVE ON ABOUT 3 MILES OF GRAVEL SO TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH TWO YOUNG CHILDREN AGES NINE AND EIGHT IS SCARY.

IT WAS RETURNED TO BRAUN FOR REPAIR BECAUSE WE INSISTED AND WORKED CLOSELY WITH THE BRAUN CORPORATION. THEY ATTEMPTED REPAIRS BUT RETURNED TO US WITH MORE ISSUES AND A CONTINUED STEERING PROBLEM.THIS WAS THEIR FIRST YEAR DOING A HONDA ENTERVAN CONVERSION AND THEY HAVE OFFERED A 5000.00 SUPPLEMENT TOWARD A TRADE. OUR LOCAL DEALER HAS LED US TO BELIEVE HE WOULD TRADE BUT WILL NOT FOLLOW THROUGH, I FIRMLY BELIEVE HE DOES NOT WANT THIS VEHICLE BACK. HE SAID IT WAS A JUNK DEAL. IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR HIM TO SELL US. I BELIEVE THIS BRAUN HONDA ENTERVAN 2010 MODEL MAY NEED A FORMAL RECALL. SOME HANDICAPPED PEOPLE MAY NOT BE REMOVING THE FRONT SEATS TO NOTICE THESE WATER PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLE MOLD WHEN THE CARPET REMAINS WET. AT LOW SPEEDS FROM 20-35 MILES PER HOUR, THE VEHICLE ABS CAUSES BRAKING TO FAIL TO HALT THE VEHICLE IN THE ANTICIPATED DISTANCE OF OTHER CARS. IT TAKES 3.5 CAR LENGTHS AT 18-20 MPH, WHICH CAN LEAD TO REAR END COLLISION WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOU. YOU ARE FORCED TO KEEP DOUBLE THE NORMAL NUMBER OF CAR LENGTHS BEHIND THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOU. I HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE WITH MY PRIOR 2007 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID, ONLY WORSENED BY THE VARIOUS HYBRID COMPONENTS KICKING IN AND OUT, INCLUDING THE REGEN BRAKING, AND THE ENGINE CUTOFF, AS WELL AS THE ABS AND THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTING. I HAD TWO MINOR REAR END FRONT END ACCIDENTS BUT FREQUENTLY FOUND MYSELF SKIDDING INTO INTERSECTIONS. BOTH VEHICLES ALSO SUFFERED FROM DIFFICULTY REGULATING SPEED WITHOUT USING THE BRAKES, AND VERY SENSITIVE SPEED BRAKING. NONETHELESS, I THINK THE ABS, SUSPENSION AND THE BRAKING ARE COMBINING TO CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO PARTLY LOSE TRACTION AND LEADS TO EXTENDED BRAKING DISTANCES AT LOW SPEED. I HAVE NOT ONLY REPEATEDLY WRITTEN AND CALLED HONDA ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM, I'VE EVEN THREATENED TO TERMINATE MY LEASE AGREEMENT OVER IT. ALL OF THE CARSEATS BECOME LOOSE AFTER PROPER INSTALLATION. THE BELT THAT IS USED TO TIGHTEN THE SEAT HAS A FAULTY MECHANISM THAT ALLOWS THE CARSEAT TO BECOME SO LOOSE THAT IT FALLS TO THE SIDE. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS CAR SEAT HAS NOT BECOME RECALLED YET. THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND EVEN A SAFETY CAMPAIGN TO RECALL THESE SEATS STARTED BY PARENTS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE SMELLED A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT COULD NOT LOCATE ANY FUEL LEAKS UPON EXAMINING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THERE WAS A PLASTIC FUEL LINE ON THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK THAT HAD BEEN EATEN BY RODENTS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000.
