THE VEHICLE WAS HAVING SPORADIC SURGES OF ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 20 TO 50 MPH ON CITY STREETS AND WHILE CLIMBING GRADUAL HILLS ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 TO 70 MPH. BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY PERFORMED A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO THE TRANSMISSION AND FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. NOTES FROM THE DEALERSHIP SAY IT WAS CAUSED BY FLUID DETERIORATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA PILOT. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD FORCEFULLY AND MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED THREE TIMES WITHIN TWO MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HOWDY HONDA (LOCATED AT 5519 E BEN WHITE BLVD, AUSTIN, TX 78741, (512) 686-1544), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH AN AUTO ENGINE IDLE FEATURE THAT IDLES THE ENGINE WHEN YOU COME TO A STOP. SOMETIMES THE ENGINE IDLE COINCIDES WITH THE MOMENT THAT YOU WOULD ACCELERATE TO CONTINUE GOING FORWARD, AND THE ENGINE STALLS COMPLETELY. THIS REQUIRES THE VEHICLE TO SHUT DOWN AND RESTART. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AFTER I HAVE STARTED TO ACCELERATE WITH PEOPLE BEHIND ME. FORTUNATELY THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME HAVE NOT STARTED TO ACCELERATE THEMSELVES OR OTHERWISE THIS WOULD HAVE CAUSED A CRASH. IT HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE ANYWHERE THE VEHICLE IS REQUIRED TO STOP AND GO, SUCH AS DRIVING THROUGH TOWN.
EMISSIONS SYSTEM PROBLEM LIGHT APPEARS. MANY OTHER WARNING LIGHTS COME ON AS WELL. THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT STARTS TO BLINK. THE CAR STARTS TO SHAKE AND SPUTTERED AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THE CAR MANUAL STATES TO IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER AND LET ENGINE SIT FOR 10 MINUTES, THEN DRIVE IMMEDIATELY TO DEALER. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHEN PULLING OUR BOAT AND WE WERE UNABLE TO PULL OVER SAFELY. THIS POSES A RISK OF FIRE. IT HAS ALSO OCCURRED WHEN I AM NOT IN A SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD TO PULL OVER. THE FIRST FEW TIMES, THE DEALER WAS NOT OPEN WHEN IT WAS OCCURRING. NOW THE DEALER HAS INSPECTED IT. THEY RETRIEVED MISFIRE DTC'S AND P219A CODE. FOUND FUEL INJECTORS ARE CAUSE OF DTC. HONDA ISSUED A HONDA SERVIE BULLETIN FOR THIS ISSUE TSB A18-025. THEY ALSO REDESIGNED THE FUEL INJECTORS AND ARE NO LONGER USING THE OLD ONES. MANY VEHICLES ARE EFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE. THEY WANT $1500 FOR REPAIR.
KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM LIGHT ON. NOT SURE EXACTLY WHAT IT MEANS OR WHAT TRIGGERED.
'KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM' ERROR HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A NUMBER OF WEEKS. BASED ON SEARCHING THIS PROBLEM ONLINE IT APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH MOST KEYLESS START PILOTS AROUND 30-50K MILES. WE HAD ONE INSTANCE WHERE IT TOOK A FEW TRIES TO GET THE CAR STARTED. VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THIS HASN'T BEEN RECALLED.
MY 2016 HONDA ELITE PILOT RANDOMLY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I HAD THE ENGINE IDLE STOP FEATURE TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE STALLED, THE DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHTS TURNED ON AND THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF COMPLETELY. THE DASH SAID TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND HIT THE IGNITION BUTTON WHICH I HAD TO DO SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE TURNED ON ALL WHILE IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, I HAVE APPROXIMATELY 39,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE.
KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM COMES ON. CAR IS STARTING LIKE NORMAL BUT NOT SURE IF THIS ISSUE WILL CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO SHUTDOWN IN TRAFFIC OR GOING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED ON THE FREEWAY.
I OWN A 2016 PILOT AWD TOURING WITH LESS THAN 26K MILES. I AM GETTING THE REMOTE KEYLESS START PROBLEM AS WELL AS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS THE CAR WILL NOT LOCK ONCE OUTSIDE THE CAR. I HAVE REPLACED THE KEY FOB'S BATTERIES AND HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE OWNERS OF 2016 PILOTS HAVE BEEN HAVING THE KEYLESS START PROBLEM WITH NO DEFINITIVE ANSWER AS TO WHY THIS IS OCCURRING. SUPPOSED FIXES RANGE FROM REPLACING START BUTTON, REPLACING SENSORS, UNIT RECEIVERS, PRESSING BRAKES, RESETTING SYSTEM ETC... HONDA NEEDS TO TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY AND FIND OUT WHAT'S GOING ON BECAUSE THE AVERAGE CONSUMER DOES NOT HAVE THE TIME AND MONEY TO INVEST IN A VEHICLE THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE THE ISSUES IT IS HAVING AFTER ONLY 25K MILES AS WELL AS ONLY BEING 3 YEARS OLD.
HONDA PILOT AWD 2016 HAS RPM VARIATION / HESITATION DURING NORMAL DRIVING FROM REV RANGE 1500 TO 2500RPM. IT IS A CONTINUAL HESITATION OR SPLUTTERING OF REVS. IF ACCELERARTING EXTREMELY HARD IT IS NOT AS EVIDENT BUT IS ALWAYS THERE. APPEARED OUT OF NOWHERE, CAR HAS NO OTHER ISSUES, SERVICED PROFESSIONALLY AS NEEDED/SCHEDULED. HORRIBLE COMFORT/ SAFETY ISSUE - NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED HAS 75K MILES, HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR LAST 10K DOESNT SEEM TO DO IT UNDER NO LOAD (NEUTRAL) BUT ALWAYS UNDER NORMAL DRIVING. ECO MODE ON OR OFF DOESNT MATTER - NO DIFFERENCE
WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE CAR PUT ITSELF INTO PARK WITHOUT MY (THE DRIVER) KNOWLEDGE. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE HOWEVER THE CAR WAS IN PARK. I ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT THE CAR INTO DRIVE AND IT WOULD NOT DO SO. I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON IN ORDER TO PLACE THE CAR INTO DRIVE AND PROCEED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION.
PREVIOUS COMPLAINT NHTSA ID 11111894 SUBMITTED 7/17/18. FOR CAR STALLING AFTER ENTERING INTO AUTO IDLE STOP. REPLACED BATTERY IN AUGUST 2018 AND DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL NOW. HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 3 TIMES NOW IN SEPT. AND OCT 2019.. AT FIRST, RADIO OR DVD PLAYER WOULD CUT OUT BUT HAS PROGRESSED TO FULL ON STALLING AFTER ENTERING AUTO IDLE STOP. SAME PROBLEM AS BEFORE AND ALL OTHER COMPLAINTS. AFTER CAR GOES INTO IDLE STOP, IT DOES NOT RESTART AFTER TAKE FOOT OFF BRAKE. HAVE TO PUT CAR IN PARK, PRESS BRAKE, AND PUSH START BUTTON TO GET IT TO RESTART. CAN TAKE SEVERAL TRIES AND SEVERAL MINUTES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA PILOT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEYLESS START SYSTEM ERROR MESSAGE DISPLAYED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,109.
"KEYLESS STARTER SYSTEM PROBLEM" LIGHT COMES AND GOES. THE DEALER CAN'T PROVIDE THE SOLUTION. ALSO, THIS CAUSES THE WALK AWAY AUTO-LOCK FEATURE DOESN'T WORK.
2016 PILOT DOES AT RED LIGHTS WHEN IT GOES INTO HYBRID/IDLE MODE. CAR TAKES SEVERAL MINUTES TO RESTART.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA PILOT. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE HESITATED IN RESPONSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AT SPEEDS OVER 50 MPH, THE FAILURE WAS NOT EXPERIENCED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND PERSISTED FOR A DAY BUT THE ISSUE SEEMED TO RESOLVE ITSELF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS MY CAR SOMETIMES SAYS KEY REMOTE PROBLEM WHEN I PUSH THE BUTTON TO START IT. I HAVE 46000 MILES ON IT.
KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM NOTIFICATION USING EITHER FOB, EVEN AFTER BATTERY CHANGE. DEALER UNABLE TO DETECT OR REMEDY ISSUE. POSSIBLY IMPACTS WALK-AWAY AUTOLOCK.
I HAVE A 2016 HONDA PILOT WITH 41K MILES ON IT AND OUT OF THE BLUE A LIGHT CAME ON SAYING THERE'S A "KEYLESS REMOTE SYSTEM PROBLEM" CHECKING ONLINE AND IT SEEMS TO BE A ISSUE WITH THE MAJORITY OF THIS MODEL AND AROUND THE SAME MILEAGE. SOME OWNERS CAN'T START THEIR CAR AND THE HONDA DEALER HAS NO ANSWER. THEY CHARGE YOU ABOUT 200 TO TRY AND DIAGNOSE.
REMOTE RESTART SYSTEM PROBLEM MESSAGE INTERMITTENTLY DISPLAYS. KEY FOB BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED AND ISSUE PERSISTS. ERROR OCCURRING MORE FREQUENTLY WHEN VEHICLE IS STARTED AND REMAINS DISPLAYED WHILE DRIVING. SEEMS TO OCCUR NOW ABOUT EVERY THIRD RESTART.
WHEN GOING DOWN A STRAIGT HILL GOING AROUND 15MPH MY RPM'S GO UP TO 5 AND 6. IF I PRESS THE GAS THEY GO UP HIGHER. I USUALLY HAVE TO PULL OVER WHEN THIS HAPPENS SO IT THE RPM'S STOP CLIMBING HIGHER. THIS ALSO HAPPENS SOMETHIMES WHEN GOING ON A BACKROAD GOING AROUND 20-25MPH BUT THE RPM'S ONLY GO BETWEEN 2-3. IT SEEMS LIKE THE GEARS ARE NOT SHIFTING.
KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM WARNING MESSAGE AND ASSOCIATED WARNING LIGHT APPEARS ON DASHBOARD DISPLAY. OCCURS WHEN STARTING VEHICLE AND WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE
JERKING WHEN ACCELERATING (USUALLY HAPPENS AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 30MPH AND 50MPH) OR HEADING UP A HILL AT LOW SPEEDS ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS. IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT AND TURNING IN CURVES. THE TAC WILL JUMP WHEN THIS IS OCCURRING. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS MODEL YEAR (THE TRANSMISSION FLUID DETERIORATES QUICKER THAN IT'S SUPPOSED TO). I'VE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR 18 MONTHS SO NOW I'M WORRIED ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION AND WHAT DAMAGE IF ANY THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED AND IF I WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE TROUBLE WITH THIS CAR.
KEYLESS START SYSTEM ERROR THIS STARTED APPEARING AFTER THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF BUT THE ACCESSORY SYSTEM DID NOT TURN OFF. I TRIED STARTING AND TURNING IT OFF MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE ACCESSORY SYSTEM WOULD NOT SHUT DOWN. AFTER REVERSING THE CAR AND THEN DRIVING FORWARD AND RETURNING TO PARK, THE SYSTEM DID TURN OFF BUT THE ERROR WARNING PERSISTED FOR SEVERAL DAYS DESPITE THE CAR FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE WARNING WENT AWAY AND RETURNED A FEW DAYS LATER AND I HAVE ALSO HAD KEY NOT DETECTED MESSAGES DESPITE REPLACING THE BATTERY IN THE FOB. AT THE DEALERSHIP, I AM BEING TOLD THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2016 PILOT MODELS, BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED.
GAS TANK LEAKING IN GARAGE WHILE ENGINE OFF
WHEN CAR COMES TO A STOP IN TRAFFIC, AT STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT THE ENGINE WILL COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. IT DOES NOT RESTART BY STEPPING ON THE GAS. I NEED TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND PUSH RESTART. A MESSAGE SOME TIMES APPEARS ON THE DASH THAT THE COLLISION ASSIST HAS BEEN ACTIVATED EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NOTHING INFRONT OF THE VEHICLE.
I KEEP GETTING 'KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM' ERROR WHEN I PUSH START MY ENGINE. THE CAR STILL DRIVES BUT I AM WORRIED IT WILL NOT DETECT THE KEY AND STOP DRIVING ONE OF THESE DAYS WITHOUT WARNING OR ENGINE WON'T START WITHOUT ANY WARNING. I HAVE CHANGED BATTERY FOR MY KEY, IT DOES THIS TO BOTH OF MY CAR KEYS, AND IT DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME BUT MORE THAN HALF OF THE TIME I START THE ENGINE. UPON INVESTIGATING ONLINE FORUMS, OTHERS HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND HAVE TRIED TO FIX IT BY GOING TO DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE INTERNAL UNITS, CHANGING CAR BATTERY, RESETTING THE INTERNAL UNIT, CHANGING THE PUSH START BUTTON, ETC., BUT THE PROBLEM COMES BACK. SO I AM HESITANT TO SPEND MONEY ON SOMETHING THAT WON'T BE FIXED. I MADE APPOINTMENT TO FIX IT DEALERSHIP AND THAT WHOLE DAY THE ERROR MESSAGE DID NOT POP UP, BUT THE VERY NEXT DAY IT CAME BACK. I HOPE THIS ISN'T SOME ELECTRICAL ISSUE...
PREVIOUS COMPLAINT SUBMITTED 06/20/2019 COMPLAINT # 11221559 THIS IS THE 5TH TIME I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. CAR HAS ENGINE IDLE WHEN VEHICLE COMES TO HALT, BUT WHAT IT KEEPS DOING IS THE ENGINE COMPLETLY SHUTS DOWN AND GOS INTO PARK AND THEN THE ENGINE TURNS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON FREEWAYS.AND REGULAR STREETS. VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE. IN JUNE HONDA KEPT MY CAR FOR 5 DAYS AND UPDATED SOFTWARE SO THEY CAN SEE PROBLEM AS THEY CAN NOT RELPICATE. THIS CAR ONCE AGAIN IS NOT SAFE AND I FELL I WILL BE KILLED IN IT.
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE STOP-START SYSTEM OF MY 2016 HONDA PILOT. WE PURCHASED IT BRAND NEW IN 2015 FROM A HONDA DEALERSHIP AND WERE INITIALLY VERY HAPPY WITH IT'S PERFORMANCE. IT IS EQUIPPED WITH A STOP-START SYSTEM WHICH CAUSES THE CAR TO IDLE WHEN YOU FULLY STEP ON THE BRAKES WHEN ARE AT A STOP BUT IT WOULD IMMEDIATELY TURN BACK ON ONCE YOU RELEASE THE BRAKES.WE HARDLY DRIVE THIS CAR SINCE WE ONLY USE IT MAINLY ON WEEKENDS FOR LEISURE TRAVELS WITH THE FAMILY. IT CURRENTLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 33000 MILES. BATTERY IS FINE. I DIDN'T HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH IT UNTIL MAYBE IN THE LAST YEAR I'VE NOTICED IT WOULD TAKE TAKE LONGER TO START AFTER RELEASING THE BRAKES TO NOW IT ACTUALLY COMPLETELY STALLS WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP IN TRAFFIC, STOP SIGN, STOP-LIGHT OR WHEN YOUR TURNING IN FRONT OF INCOMING TRAFFIC!! THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING MORE OFTEN THAT I NOW TRY TO ALWAYS REMEMBER TO DISABLE THE STOP-START SYSTEM MANUALLY WHEN I INITIALLY START THE CAR. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS SINCE THE CAR WOULD COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY DURING TRAFFIC, STOP LIGHTS AND STOP SIGNS AND STARTING THE CAR BACK UP REQUIRES SEVERAL TRIES. WHEN IT HAPPENS , THE CAR MAKES A POPPING SOUND LIKE IT WANTS TO START, THEN ALL THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS TURNS ON AND THEN THE RADIO TURNS OFF AND THE CAR COMPLETELY TURNS OFF!!.TRYING TO START THE CAR BACK UP IS NOT IMMEDIATE AND REQUIRES SEVERAL TRIES WHILE PEOPLE BEHIND US ARE HONKING THEIR HORNS LIKE CRAZY TO MAKE YOU MOVE. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO HAVE THIS ISSUE INVESTIGATED SINCE I NOTICED MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS ME. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
'KEYLESS REMOTE START PROBLEM' KEEPS APPEARING ON MY DASHBOARD. IS INCONSISTENT AND DOES NOT HAVE ANY PATTERN TO TURNING ON. IT WILL TURN OFF ON ITS OWN AS WELL. LONGEST AMOUNT OF TIME IT HAS LASTED IS 24- 48 HOURS WITHOUT TURNING OFF. I HAVE CHANGED THE BATTERIES IN THE KEY FOB
THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED ABOUT A DOZEN TIMES OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS, BUT I WILL SIMPLY DETAIL THE LATEST INCIDENT WHICH HAPPENED YESTERDAY. CAR WAS IN BUSY STOP-N-GO TRAFFIC. AUTO-IDLE START/STOP WAS ENABLED, AS IT IS EVERY TIME YOU START THE CAR. AFTER CAR WAS STOPPED FOR SEVERAL SECONDS, RELEASED THE BRAKE. RADIO CUT OUT, MADE A POPPING NOISE (AS IF IT WAS TRYING TO START BACK UP), BUT PILOT JUST STALLED. DASHBOARD LIT UP WITH ALL LIGHTS. HAD TO SWITCH THE GEAR TO <P>. THEN PRESS THE BRAKE AND PRESS THE START/STOP IGNITION BUTTON. HAD TO DO THIS SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE CAR WOULD ACTUALLY START. WAS ON A VERY BUSY 5-LANE HIGHWAY,IN THE FAR LEFT LANE. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO HAVE OUR PILOT DIE IN TRAFFIC LIKE THIS. WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR, ESPECIALLY WITH OUR KIDS IN IT!!
THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS A 'KEYLESS START SYSTEM' ISSUE. MESSAGE IS ON DASHBOARD CONSTANTLY. LOOKING AT COMPLAINT BOARDS FOR 2016 HONDA PILOT, I'M SHOCKED THIS ISN'T A RECALL. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. AND A WORRY THAT CAR WILL SUDDENLY STOP WHILE ON HIGHWAY. ALSO THE CAR HAS A CONSTANT 'REV, REV, REV' PULLING AT TIMES WHILE DRIVING. ALWAYS AN ISSUE WHEN BEHIND SOMEONE AND YOU WORRY IT WILL REV AND JUMP AHEAD AND HIT CAR IN FRONT OF YOU. TOOK IT INTO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY FIXED IT BUT STILL NOT FIXED. AGAIN LOOKING AT BOARDS, THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE.
THE 2016 HONDA PILOT ELITE AUTO IDLE IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. WHILE STOPPING AT A STOP LIGHT ON CITY STREET, THE AUTO IDLE TURN THE ENGINE OFF TO SAVE FUEL WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKE AND THE CAR STOPPED WHILE THE LIGHT IS RED. ONCE THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN THE ENGINE STALL WHEN I LIFT MY FEET OFF THE BRAKE AND THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS FLASHED, RADIO IS OFF AND LIGHTS AND RADIO TURN ON AGAIN BUT ENGINE IS STILL OFF. I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTART THE IGNITION IN ORDER TO RESTART THE CAR. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION TO ADDRESS DURING BUSY TRAFFIC AREA AND TIME. I CHECKED THE HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. ONLINE COMMUNITY BOARD SAID THAT THERE ARE MANY OWNERS WITH SIMILAR ISSUES. HONDA NEEDS TO FIX THIS FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS.

KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM, WARNING COMES AND GOES, CAR WONT START AT TIMES
KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM COMES ON WHEN STARTING THE CAR AND SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING. NO REASON FOR THE ERROR AND SEEMS TO BE A CONTINUOUS PROBLEM WITH HONDA PILOT OWNERS. NO CONSISTENCY TO THE MESSAGE AND WHEN IT COMES ON. FIRST TIME NOTICING ISSUE WAS IN AUGUST, THEN AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER, DECEMBER, JANUARY AND FEBRUARY. IT CAN HAPPEN 1 DAY AND NOT COME BACK ON TILL 3-4 DAYS LATER. SEEMS TO BE MORE FREQUENT WHEN THERE IS OUTSIDE PRECIPITATION SO MAYBE TRIPPING SOME SENSOR. NOT A BATTERY ISSUE AS NEW BATTERY HAS BEEN INSTALLED IN NOVEMBER AND STILL GETTING THE MESSAGE AND FOB BATTERIES HAVE ALSO BEEN REPLACED.
While at a stop light my idol stop function turned the car off. When the light turned green I lightly took my foot off the brake and the car tried to turn back on (the power clicked) but instead it shut off the car fully. Only the car radio was still working as if it was in accessory mode. Car display said to turn the car on I needed to press the brake and press the ignition button. My foot was still on the brake. I pressed the ignition button but nothing happened. Pressed it again and nothing happened. Lifted my foot off and on the brake and tried again. Nothing. Display still read press brake and ignition. Lifted my foot off the brake and on again and then pressed the ignition, it FINALLY restarted the car. Extremely dangerous situation as this took nearly a minute for the car to restart, the light had just cycled again. Dealership could not replicate the situation. They updated the cars software and it did not fix the problem. They said the battery was still good but I had read on the piloteers.org website that changing the battery seemed to solve the problem. I had them change the battery anyway and it fixed the issue, now nearly 2 years later the problem is reoccurring again.

AT ~30K MILES, THE KEYLESS START SYSTEM PERIODICALLY FAILS - ISSUING A WARNING (AUDIBLE & VISUAL) WHEN STARTING/TURNING OFF THE CAR. THE VISUAL WARNING PERSIST WHILE DRIVING. THIS SYSTEM ALSO RESULTS IN A FAILURE OF THE WALK-AWAY LOCK FEATURE. THE ISSUE ISN'T APPARENTLY TIED TO THE CAR'S BATTERY OR THE KEY FOB. THERE IS NO PATTERN TO WHEN THIS ISSUE WILL OCCUR.

THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A CAR AT THIS YOUNG MILAGE! WHEN DO A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH, THERE ARE PLENTIFUL OF SAME ISSUES POSTED ONLINE. WHEN IS HONDA GOING TO THE RESPONSIBLE TO RECALL THIS ISSUE?
ONCE MY HONDA PILOT HIT MILES OF 34,000, DASHBOARD IS SHOWS WARNING "KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM". SHORTLY AFTER I AM HAVING PROBLEM WITH START BUTTON WHICH WON'T START ONE PRESS, I HAVE TO PRESS MANY TIMES TO START THE CAR... I HAVE CHANGED MY KEY FOB BATTERY, AND STILL HAVE SAME PROBLEMS. DEALERSHIP WON'T COVER THIS ISSUE ONCE THE CAR DROVE OVER 30,000 MILES. I DID RESEARCH ON THIS ISSUE SPECIFICALLY HONDA PILOT 2016 MODEL. THERE ARE A LOT PEOPLE WHO HAVE SAME ISSUES. I AM AFRAID THAT MY CAR WON'T START ONE DAY. NEVER HAD ISSUE WITH OTHER HONDA MODELS... The contact owns a 2016 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, the vehicle would stall upon the depression of the accelerator pedal with either the Collision Mitigation Failure or Shift to Park and Restart Vehicle messages were displayed on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer several times for the same failure; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated that upon disabling the auto idle-stop feature, the failure did not occur; however, the feature had to be manually disabled each time upon the start of the vehicle. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer and was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. CAR TURNS OFF COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING, DOES NOT RESPOND TO ATTEMPTS TO RESTART RIGHT AWAY
ON 8/29/2019 I RECEIVED AN ERROR CODE THAT APPEARED ON THE CENTER DASH DISPLAY UNIT OF MY 2016 HONDA PILOT. THE ERROR CODE SAID "EMISSIONS SYSTEM PROBLEM". I TOOK MY CAR TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM, AS A CERTIFIED USED CAR, AND THEY WERE ABLE TO OBTAIN AN ERROR CODE FROM THE VEHICLE. THE ERROR CODE WAS "P219A/B - FOR FUEL INJECTORS. THE SERVICE ADVISOR INFORMED ME THAT THIS INDICATED THAT THE FUEL INJECTORS WERE FAULTY AND THEY WERE OUT OF WARRANTY (3 YRS OR 36,000 MILES)AND I WOULD BE NEEDING TO REPLACE ALL 6 FUEL INJECTORS. IT WAS STATED THAT THE FUEL INJECTORS FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL COME AS A SET OF 6 AND YOU CAN NOT PURCHASE THEM AS INDIVIDUAL INJECTORS. HONDA PART NUMBER 16010-RLV-315 APPEARS TO CONFIRM THIS. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 34671 MILES AT THIS DATE AND IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT FUEL INJECTORS CAN BE BAD WITH THIS MILEAGE. A SEARCH OF THE HONDA PILOT OWNERS WEBSITE SHOWS THAT NUMEROUS OTHER 2016 PILOT OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH ROUGHLY THE SAME MILEAGE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A FAULTY PRODUCT AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SUSTAIN REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT EXPENSE. WITH THIS BEING A FUEL SYSTEM COMPONENT, I WONDER WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF ONE OR MORE INJECTORS WERE TO FAIL COMPLETELY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND IN A SEVERE TRAFFIC SITUATION?
I HAVE GOTTEN AN ERROR ON MY HONDA PILOT EX-L 2016 "KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM ERROR. AT 47K MILES. I HAVE GOOGLE THIS ISSUE AND LOOKS LIKE ALL 2016 MODELS ARE GETTING THIS ERROR AROUND THE SAME MILEAGE. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT FOR THE PUSH TO START BUTTON. I WOULD LIKE FOR HONDA TO OWN THIS PROBLEM AND COVER THE REPAIR FOR THIS ERROR.
