RECEIVE AN RECALL ON MY VEHICLE CONCERNING BRAKES LIGHTS, BUT I BOUGHT THE CAR ON THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 2007 AND THE DEALER NO LONGER EXIST. WHAT CAN I DO IN SUCH A CASE TO CORRECT THE DEFAULT.
THE POWER LOCKS STOP WORKING WHEN THE CAR IS IN THE OFF POSITION, WHEN I TURN THE CAR ON, IT START WORKING THE FUEL GAUGE GO UP AND DOWN FAST AND THE GO UP AGAIN AND STAY, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WORK SOME TIMES, AT THE SAME TIME IN THE PANEL, THE BRAKE, TRUNK AND DOORS LIGHTS START FLASHING, THE CLOCK ON THE DASH VANISHES WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING AND THEN COMEBACK, I DO THAT FOR THE WHOLE TRIP, JUST WORRY THAT THE CAR CAUGHT FIRE...UPDATED 05-27-15 *BF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HYUNDAI ACCENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND DRAINED THE BATTERY. IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE BATTERY FROM DRAINING, THE FUSE THAT CONNECTS TO THE BRAKE LIGHT HAD TO BE REMOVED. WHEN THE FUSE FOR THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS REMOVED, THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V280000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 157,500.
I INJURED MY LEFT THUMB TRYING TO HONK THE HORN ON MY 2005 HYUNDAI ACCENT. THIS INJURY REQUIRED SURGERY. I FEEL THE HORN BUTTON HAS A DESIGN DEFECT: IT TAKES UP A VERY SMALL PORTION AT THE MIDDLE OF THE STEERING WHEEL. IF YOU DON'T PRESS ON THAT SPECIFIC AREA YOUR FINGERS IMPACT A HARD, UNYIELDING SURFACE. I FEEL THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT THAT CAN CAUSE FINGER AND HAND INJURIES. I FEEL YOUR ADMINISTRATION NEEDED TO BE NOTIFIED TO PREVENT FURTHER INJURIES. *TR
DT: CONTACT STATED 2005 HYUNDAI ACCENT WAS IN THE NREPAIR SHOP FOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. SHE WAS DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED, THERE WERE NO BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN INTO A WALL TO GET IT TO STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SERVICE DEALER. THEY FELT THE PROBLEM IWASIN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP SINCE SEPTEMBER 27, 2005. THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE, THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND NO POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. *AK
