WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES PER HOUR ON SIX LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY, I ATTEMPTED TO PARK THE SUN VISOR IN THE FULL UP (OUT OF THE WAY) POSITION. IT MADE A STRANGE NOISE AND FELL ALL THE WAY DOWN IN FRONT OF MY FACE. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO REACT QUICKLY AND HOLD THE VISOR UP OUT OF THE WAY, THEREBY PRECLUDING ANY ACCIDENT. THIS DID OCCUR DURING THE HEAVY TRAFFIC OF RUSH HOUR, AND I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT THIS COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED A POTENTIALLY DISASTROUS ACCIDENT. MY FAMILY ALSO OWNS ANOTHER, 2008 HYUNDAI ACCENT, WHICH MY SON DRIVES. THE SAME ISSUE ALSO OCCURRED WHILE HE WAS DRIVING HIS JUST WITHIN THE PAST FEW MONTHS. I HAVE FOUND MANY INSTANCES OF BOTH DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE VISORS BREAKING IN THE SAME WAY, OBSTRUCTING THE VISION OF THE DRIVER IMMEDIATELY (EVEN IF THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR BREAKS/FALLS). THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
HAVE HAD VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES TO DEALER SHIP SINCE WE BOUGHT USED VEHICLE FOR SWAY BARS COMING LOOSE THIS SEEMS TO BE A ISSUE THAT THEY JUST CANT GET RESOLVED . THE LAST TIME I WAS DRIVING VEHICLE OUT OF NO WHERE IT STARTED MAKING THE THUMPING NOISE IT STARTLED ME I WAS PULLING OVER TO CHECK MY STEERING I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED PULLING OFF HIGHWAY. READING SOME INTERNET SITES THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HYUNDAI ACCENT. WHEN THE CONTACT TURNED THE IGNITION SWITCH INTO THE ON POSITION FROM THE START POSITION, THE POWER WINDOWS DELAYED IN DEACTIVATING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FAILURE MAY CAUSE A FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR BROKE AND DROPPED DOWN BLOCKING VISION WHILE DRIVING. *TR
2009 HYUNDAI ACCENT DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR JUST WONT STAY IN UP POSITION. MY CAR HAS VERY FEW MILES FOR BEING A 2009 MODEL FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. I AM A MALE AND NEVER USE THE SUN VISOR FOR THE MIRROR OR THE SUN BECAUSE I ALWAYS WERE SUN GLASSES. MY VISOR FALLS NOW AND IMPEDES MY DRIVING. THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL BECAUSE IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING, IT COULD HAVE CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE FOUND MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ONLINE AS I RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM FOR A POSSIBLE RECALL FROM HYUNDAI. *TR
MY CAR WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. I WENT OUT TO PULL IT INTO THE GARAGE. WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF OF THE BREAK TO EXCELERATE, THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD (WITHOUT ME GIVING IT ANY GAS). I RETURNED MY FOOT LIGHTLY TO THE BREAK. THE THRUST THREW ME INTO THE STEERING WHEEL. I CALLED THE TOW SERVICE AND HAD MY CAR TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. DURING THE RIDE TO THE DEALER THE TOW DRIVER SAID THAT HE HAD TO HOLD HIS FOOT ON THE BREAK IN ORDER TO CONTROL THE CAR AND GET IT ON THE TRUCK. THE DEALERSHIP KEPT MY CAR FOR THREE DAYS AND TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. SHE TOLD ME THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC SHOWED NO NUMBERS THAT WOULD INDICATE THERE WAS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. SHE STATED THAT THERE WERE SOME CODES THAT CAME UP BUT THEY WERE ERASED BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T MATTER, THEY CAME UP ON THEIR OWN. THE DIAGNOSTIC WAS DONE ON DAY ONE. WHAT WAS BEING DONE ON THE OTHER TWO DAYS? THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THAT I HAVE HAD TO TAKE THIS CAR IN FOR THIS TYPE OF REPAIR. THEY ALWAYS TELL ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR, HOWEVER WHEN I GET THE CAR BACK IT DRIVES LIKE NEW. NOT SO MUCH THIS TIME. THE BREAKS ARE STILL A LITTLE OFF. IS A DEALERSHIP ALLOWED TO REPAIR YOUR CAR AND NOT TELL YOU WHAT WAS WRONG? I ASK THIS BECAUSE OF THE ABOVE AND DURING ONE OF MY VISITS ON OF THE WORKERS TOLD ME THAT "THEY WILL DO ANYTHING TO STAY #1".
I HAVE TAKEN MY PRE-OWNED, CERTIFIED VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER 3 SEPARATE TIMES BECAUSE THE AIR BAG LIGHT ON THE CONSOLE COMES ON AND WILL NOT RESET. EACH TIME I HAVE HAD TO PAY A DIAGNOSTIC FEE AND HAVE THE CODES RESET. THE LAST VISIT ON MAY 16, 2014 I WAS TOLD THAT IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, THEY WILL REPAIR AND REPLACE THE SEAT SENSORS. I AM NOW OUT THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE ($89) EACH TIME I GO IN. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE AS YOU DON'T KNOW IF IT IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY OR THE AIR BAG WILL DEPLOY IF SOMEONE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. *JS
DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR FELL AND WILL NOT STAY UP. I'VE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THE HYUNDAI SONATA HAD A RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
THE SUN VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP. THERE IS A PLASTIC PART INSIDE THAT HOLDS IT IN PLACE AND THAT APPARENTLY BROKE. THE SUN VISOR IS NOT USABLE AND JUST HANGS DOWN OBSCURING MY FIELD OF VIEW. THIS IS A HUGE DANGER SINCE I CAN'T SEE MORE THAN 50 FEET AHEAD OF MY CAR NOW AND WILL NOT HAVE TIME TO SLOW DOWN FOR AN ACCIDENT. *JS
OUR AIRBAG LIGHT WENT ON AT THE DASHBOARD, AND A DEALER INFORMED US THAT THE ALL THE SENSORS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG HAD FAILED. WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WOULD COST ALMOST $1,000 TO FIX THIS, AND THAT THE PARTS ALONE WERE OVER $700. WE ARE ONE 1 MONTH 16 DAYS , AND LESS THAN 10,000 MILES PAST HE 60000 LIMIT FOR THE WARRANTY. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH HYUNDAI REPEATEDLY TO HAVE THEM PAY FOR THE COST OF REPLACING THIS KEY SAFETY DEVICE, WHICH HAS FAILED DUE TO NO FAULT OF OUR OWN. HYUNDAI, AND THE DEALER REFUSE TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR AN OBVIOUS DEFECT IN THESE CRUCIAL SAFETY SENSORS. HYUNDAI PROMOTES THEIR SERVICE AND SAFETY, BUT HAS A REAL PROBLEM WITH PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR FAILURE, AND THE COMPANY WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR ITS OWN DEFECTS. *TR
THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE ANYMORE AND JUST HANGS DOWN, WHICH HINDERS VISIBILITY AND GETS ANNOYING. *TR
PAINT ON REAR BUMPER IS CRACKING AND PEELING. *TR
FRONT SUSPENSION FOR BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT SIDES HAS EXCESSIVE PLAY. *TR
MY BACK SEATS WERE FOLDED DOWN. BEFORE I WENT TO WORK WITH THE CAR OFF AND AT REST, I WENT TO FOLD THEM UP, GRABBING THE SMALL HOLE THAT HOLDS THE LATCH THAT ATTACHES TO THE BACK. MY RIGHT INDEX FINGER SLID ACROSS THE APPARENTLY SHARP, UNCOVERED METAL EDGE OF THIS HOLE. THE TOP COUPLE MILLIMETERS OF THE TIP OF MY FINGER WERE SLICED OFF BY THIS METAL EDGE. I HAD TO GO TO THE DOCTOR. I NEEDED A TETANUS SHOT. IT WAS A JUDGMENT CALL WHETHER I NEEDED STITCHES OR NOT BUT THE DOCTOR GAVE ME SUTURES. I MAY LOSE THIS PART OF MY FINGER - WE WILL SEE. *TR
I HAVE A 2009 HYNDAI ACCENT. MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE GOING ON AND OFF. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE I FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR BRAKE LIGHT SWITCHES. I CALLED MY LOCAL HYNDAI DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT MY VIN # WAS NOT UNDER THE RECALL. LEADING ME TO BELIEVE THAT THEY DID NOT MAKE THE RECALL LARGE ENOUGH TO COVER ALL THE CARS THAT ARE AFFECTED BY THIS MALFUNCTION. THE DEALERSHIP IS NOW WANTING $175.00 TO REPLACE THIS. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT OR ANYTHING THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS ISSUE IN MY CAR. *TR
I NOTICED MY VEHICLE'S BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH WAS FAULTY AFTER BRINGING IN MY CAR FOR AN OIL CHANGE. AFTER COMING HOME AND NOTICING IT, I REALIZED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SAME EXACT PART FOR MY MAKE MODEL YEAR (HYUNDAI ACCENT 2009). AFTER CALLING THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDERNEATH THE RECALL. I AM SKEPTICAL THAT HYUNDAI MADE THERE RECALL LARGE ENOUGH TO COVER ALL OF THE IMPACTED VEHICLES, THUS THIS POST. WHILE GOING 65 MPH CAR SHIFTED INTO LOWER GEAR ON ITS OWN. WOULD NOT SHIFT BACK. HAS DONE THIS MANY TIMES SINCE THEN. WHEN PUT IN PARK AND TURNED OFF,MOST THE TIME WILL WORK RIGHT AFTER. *TR
I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH SHIFTING INTO GEAR. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO SEVERAL DIFFERENT MECHANICS AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANY ISSUES AT ALL. I ALSO JUST FOUND OUT THAT MY FUEL LEVEL SENSOR IS NOT WORKING EITHER. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANY RECALLS ON EITHER. IT'S UPSETTING TO SEE THAT OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SHIFTING PROBLEM AND IT DOESN'T SEEM THAT ANYONE WITHIN HYUNDAI HAS BOTHERED TO SEE IF THIS PROBLEM EXISTS WITH OTHER 5 SPEED ACCENTS. *TR
I TOOK MY VEHICLE FOR VIRGINIA SAFETY INSPECTION AND IT FAILED DUE TO THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS NORMAL TO LET ME KNOW IT WAS WORKING, BUT APPARENTLY NOT. IT HAS BEEN ON SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM CARMAX. I HAVE RESEARCHED A LITTLE AND THERE SEEMS TO QUITE A FEW PROBLEMS WITH THIS ISSUE AND HYUNDAI. THIS IS THE SECOND SAFETY ISSUE, THE BRAKE LIGHT RECALL BEING THE FIRST. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE VISOR FELL DOWN TO BLOCK VIEW OF ROAD. WILL NOT STAY UP ANY MORE. HAD TO USE VELCRO TO HOLD UP BUT GIVES WAY ON HOT DAYS. *TR
AROUND 75,000 MILES, VEHICLE IS 4 YEARS OLD, AIRBAG SENSOR WENT OFF (NO ACCIDENT OR ANYTHING). I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. CAME BACK ESTIMATING ROUGHLY $1,200 REPAIR TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT. I TOLD THEM IT IS PROBABLY JUST A BLOWN FUSE AND TO CHECK FOR THAT, THEY REFUSED AND SAID THEY'VE SEEN THE PROBLEM BEFORE AND THAT THE REPAIR IS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY AND THAT IT WAS LIKELY MY FAULT DUE TO A SPILLED DRINK. I'VE NEVER SPILLED A DRINK IN THIS CAR OR EVEN LEFT THE WINDOWS OPEN. THEREFORE, THE PROBLEM IS MOST LIKELY DUE TO FAULTY WIRING. I REFUSED TO PAY THE $1,200 REPAIR. NOW I AM WRITING THIS BECAUSE I AM LIKELY TO FAIL INSPECTION AND WILL BE FORCED TO REPAIR IT. I WANT TO INCREASE VISIBILITY OF THIS ISSUE. *TR
"HYUNDAI MOTOR COMPANY (HYUNDAI) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006-2009 ACCENT. HYUNDAI'S RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER IS 110." I HAVE A 2009 HYUNDAI ACCENT THAT HAS HAD A BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH FAILURE BACK IN APRIL 2013 AND NOW IN NOVEMBER 2014. IN 2013 HYUNDAI DID A SUPPOSED FIX BASED ON CAMPAIGN 110 ... THE "FIX" HAS FAILED AND AGAIN ALL THREE BRAKE LIGHTS HAVE GONE OUT AT ONCE. IN 2013 I CONTACTED HYUNDAI CORPORATE AND THEY ASSISTED IN GETTING THE ISSUE DEALT WITH. THE 'FIX," THOUGH, HAS FAILED AND NOW HYUNDAI IS SAYING MY 09 HAS NO KNOWN ISSUES OR RECALLS. I SPOKE WITH THEM AND RECEIVED A CASE NUMBER [XXX] AND HAVE SPOKEN WITH A [XXX] AND HAVE BEEN GIVEN DIFFERENT STORIES STARTING WITH IT WAS ONLY 06 AND 07 HYUNDAI ACCENTS RECALLED FOR BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH ISSUES EVEN THOUGH CARS.COM AND MOTORTRENDS.COM REPORTED OTHERWISE AND WHEN I CALLED BACK INFORMING THEM THAT THE NHTSA HAS 09 ACCENTS ALSO LISTED THE STORY BECAME THAT IT'S ONLY CERTAIN 09 ACCENTS. THE ISSUE IS NOW OVER VIN NUMBER. WHAT I KNOW IT THAT I HAVE A 2009 HYUNDAI ACCENT THAT HAS HAD NOT ONE BUT TWO BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH FAILURES ... AN ISSUE KNOWN IN THESE TYPE OF CARS BY THEM AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ... BUT HYUNDAI IS NOT RECOGNIZING THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HYUNDAI ACCENT. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH DURING THE NIGHT AND ATTEMPTED TO MERGE INTO A LANE WHEN SUDDENLY, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED OF THE INCIDENT. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FROM THE SCENE OF THE CRASH. THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE REAR WINDOW EDGES THAT WERE DESIGNED WITH DARKENED MATERIAL, CAUSING A BLIND SPOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,200.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THERE WAS A VERY SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD WHICH CAUSED THE SUNVISOR TO FALL AND TOTALLY BLOCK MY VISION. NOW IT WILL NOT STAY UP. UPON INVESTIGATION, THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON MANY HYUNDAI'S. THEY RECALLED SOME MODELS, BUT MOST THEY DID NOT. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BECAUSE THE REPLACEMENT PART HAS BEEN COMPLETELY REDESIGNED. *TR
I OWN TWO HYUNDAI ACCENTS, A 2008 AND THIS, A 2009. NOW BOTH HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH BECOMING INOPERATIVE. FORTUNATELY, THE LACK OF BRAKE LIGHTS WAS NOTICED BEFORE ANY ACCIDENTS OCCURRED, AND THE VEHICLES WERE TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND WERE REPAIRED AT NO CHARGE. IT SEEMS THAT THE RECALL FOR 2006 AND 2007 SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXTENDED TO THE 2008 AND 2009 ACCENT MODELS (PLUS ANY OTHERS USING THE SAME BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH). *TR
SUN VISOR STARTED DROPPING INTO DRIVER'S VIEW ON IT'S OWN IN 2012. DRIVER WAS ABLE TO PROP IT BACK UP UNTIL IT THE PLASTIC CLAMP THAT KEEPS IT TIGHT ON ROTATING ARM BROKE. IT BECAME A VISIBILITY PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING, SO VISOR HAD TO BE REMOVED. WE CONTACTED HYUNDAI WHO TOLD US IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY $150 TO HAVE IT REPLACED. *TR
THE BRAKE LIGHTS ALL FAILED AT THE SAME TIME. MY DAUGHTER WAS FOLLOWING ME AND NOTICED THEY WEREN'T WORKING. I CHECKED THE FUSE AND IT IS OK, SO THE NEXT COMPONENT IS THE SWITCH. I RESEARCHED PROBLEMS WITH MY MODEL AND NOTICED THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE 2007 MODEL YEAR FOR THE SAME MODEL CAR FOR THE STOP LAMP SWITCH. MAYBE THE SAME PARTS ARE BEING USED IN LATER MODEL YEARS. *TR
SEAT BELT COMES UN-ATTACHED OCCASIONALLY AT THE SLIGHTEST TENSION. IT TAKES SEVERAL TRIES TO RE-ATTACH TO GET THE "CLICKER" THE ENGAGE AND HOLD THE CONNECTION. *TR
2009 HYUNDAI ACCENT. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO STOP LAMP SWITCH MALFUNCTION RECALL NOTICE AND CONSUMER SEEKS REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIRS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED IN APRIL 2013, HE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE. ON NOVEMBER 19, 2012, HIS VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT A NATIONWIDE RECOGNIZED FACILITY, WHERE THE STOP LIGHT SWITCH WAS REPLACED, DUE TO NO BRAKE LIGHTS. THE CONSUMER STATED HE FOLLOWED ALL OF THE PROCEDURES OF THE RECALL NOTIFICATION, FOR VEHICLES ALREADY REPAIRED. ON AUGUST 12, 2013, THE CONSUMER CALLED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER, ONLY TO BE INFORMED, HE WOULD HAVE TO TAKE HIS VEHICLE TO A HYUNDAI DEALER TO HAVE IT INSPECTED AND VERIFIED, BEFORE THE REIMBURSEMENT COULD BE APPROVED.
DRIVERS SIDE SUNSCREEN VISOR BROKE AT THE CONNECTION TO THE PROP ROD CAUSING THE SUNSCREEN TO SWING DOWN UNSUPPORTED. REPLACED THIS WITH ANOTHER VISOR AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. *TR
MY SON WAS DRIVING A 2009 HYUNDAI ACCENT AND REAR ENDED A STOPPED VEHICLE. MY SON WAS DOING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH AND NOT ONE AIRBAG IS HIS CAR DEPLOYED. HIS CAR WAS INOPERABLE AND WAS TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. I WENT TO THE HYUNDAI DEALER, WITH PICTURES, TO LET THEM KNOW THERE WAS SOME SORT OF PROBLEM WITH THAT CAR AND THE MANAGER'S RESPONSE TO ME WAS "I WASN'T THE MANAGER WHEN THAT CAR WAS PURCHASED". I TRIED EXPLAINING THAT I WAS THERE OUT OF CONCERN THAT IF IT HAPPENS TO SOMEONE ELSE, THERE COULD BE SOME SERIOUS INJURIES BUT HE ONLY CARED THAT "HE WAS NOT THE MANAGER" WHEN I PURCHASED THAT VEHICLE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING, I PULLED DOWN THE SUN VISOR TO SHIELD MY VISION FROM THE SUN. I HEARD A STRANGE CRACKING NOISE AND THE SUN VISOR BECAME VERY FLOPPY. IT WILL NO LONGER STAY IN THE UP POSITION, AND THIS POSED A VISIBILITY PROBLEM, AND SO I WAS FORCED TO REMOVE THE SUN VISOR. NOW I HAVE NO WAY TO SHIELD MY EYES FROM THE SUN, WHICH ALSO POSES A VISIBILITY PROBLEM. *TR
1ST INCIDENT: CAR WAS PARKED AT STORE. WOULD NOT START AND COULD NOT MOVE SHIFT LEVER WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM DOWN. ENTERED THE CAR, HEARD CLICKING SOUND FROM THE DIRECTION OF THE INSIDE FUSE BOX. TRIED TO START THE CAR, NO POWER ANYWHERE, CAR WOULD NOT START. DEPRESSED THE BRAKE TO REPEAT THE SHIFTER STEPS AS IN INCIDENT 2. THE CLICKING STOPPED. THE CLICKING ONLY STOPPED WHEN I DEPRESSED AND HELD THE BRAKE WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH IN THE ON POSITION. STILL NO POWER AND CAR WOULD NOT START. AS I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE, THE ELECTRONIC ODOMETER DISPLAY WENT TO HALF-NUMBERS. WHEN I TRIED TO TURN ON THE FLASHERS, THERE WAS A "STATIC NOISE" FROM THE DASHBOARD. FLASHERS WOULD NOT WORK. RETURNED THE KEY TO THE LOCK POSITION, DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE ODOMETER READING FLASHED ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES, THEN CAME BACK FULLY. HAD TO HAVE THE CAR JUMP-STARTED IN ORDER TO GET HOME. *TR

THE CONTACT THEN RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL THAT ADDRESSED THE FAILURE THAT WAS EXPERIENCED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR THE REPAIR BUT THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL WAS ONLY FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON TWICE AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.

AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON WHEN I TURNED THE CAR ON ONE DAY. I WAS INFORMED THE AIRBAG PRESSURE SENSOR HAD FAILED AND WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SEAT TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM AS THE AIRBAG WOULDN'T DEPLOY CORRECTLY IF SOMEONE WAS IN THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. RECENTLY LEARNED IT WAS A RECALL FOR SOME KIA MODELS THROUGH A NOTICE FOR MY KIA SEDONA, BUT MY MODEL WASN'T INCLUDED ALTHOUGH THE ISSUE IS IDENTICAL.
