WHEN DRIVING THE CAR IT IS VERY HARD TO KEEP THE CAR IN A STRAIGHT LINE BECAUSE THE CAR LIKES TO VEER TO THE RIGHT AND LEFT AND YOU HAVE TO TRY REAL HARD TO KEEP IT STRAIGHT. THE STEERING BECOMES STIFF AT TIMES, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO CONTROL THE CAR. I HAVE ONLY OWNED THE CAR FOR 2 DAYS AND STARTED LOOKING UP REVIEWS AND NOTICED ABOUT 300 COMPLAINTS PERTAINING TO THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS NOT SAFE AND I ALMOST WENT OFF THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING. I TOOK THE CAR BACK IN AND THEY CHANGED THE COMPUTER SETTING TO 15 TO MATCH THE TIRES. THEY SAID THAT SHOULD HELP. WELL IT DIDN'T CHANGE A THING. I AM TAKING THE CAR IN AGAIN TOMORROW. OTHER PEOPLE SAID THAT THEY AS WELL HAVE TAKEN THE CAR BACK NUMEROUS TIMES AND WERE GIVEN THE RUN AROUND. *TR
MY LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON SO I PULLED INTO THE NEXT GAS STATION AND NOTICED THAT 3 OUT OF MY 4 TIRES HAD A BUBBLE ON THE OUTSIDE SIDEWALLS. TIRES ARE HANKOOK P215 45R 17 87H - DOT 5M24 DLH - ONLY ONE OF THE TIRES HAD THIS NUMBER AT THE END (4711). I CALLED HANKOOK HQ AT (855) 275-8899 AND THE PERSON WAS VERY SHORT WITH ME TELL ME THEY NEVER HAD A TIRE RECALL EVEN THOUGH THEY DID HAVE A VOLUNTARY RECALL. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAITING FOR THEIR RETURN CALL. *TR
2012 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE AIR BAG FAILURE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HIS WIFE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, AND ALL THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, EXCEPT THE DRIVER'S SIDE.
MY ELANTRA LIMITED WILL NOT START OCCASIONALLY FOR NO REASON. I HAVE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND BACK TO PARK, THEN REPEAT TO GET IT TO START. THIS HAPPENS SO OFTEN I AM USED TO IT DOING THIS, SO I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS NORMAL. THAT PRETTY MUCH SUMS IT UP. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. WHILE DRIVING OVER A BUMP, TAR, OR ROUGH PAVEMENT, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WOULD BECOME UNSTABLE AND SWAY VIOLENTLY FROM SIDE TO SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE AN ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. DUE TO THE FAULTY SUSPENSION SYSTEM, THE TIRES WOULD BECOME WORN AT AN ACCELERATED RATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 750.
THE CAR INTERMITTENTLY WILL NOT START. INITIALLY, IT WOULD SPONTANEOUSLY START AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES OF WAITING. LATER, IT WOULD NOT START UNTIL YOU'D WAIT ABOUT 3 HOURS. BEEN IN THE SHOP, WHERE I PURCHASED IT NEW, ABOUT SIX TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED IN. THEY SAY THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IF THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS AT NIGHT, AND I'M STUCK IN MY RURAL TOWN OR AT MY URBAN OFFICE, MY VERY LIFE IS AT STAKE. AND I CAN'T GET THE DEALER TO FIX OR REPLACE THIS LEMON. *TR
I BOUGHT THE HYUNDAI ELANTRA 2012 AND HAS BEEN GIVING ME PROBLEMS. THE CAR WILL NOT START SOMETIME TILL I START MOVING THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE SHIFTER. IT HAS DONE IT TO ME SEVERAL TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT IT AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER I PURCHASED THE CAR AND THE MECHANIC SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. I ARGUED THAT THERE IS THEY EXPECT ME TO LEAVE IT AT THE DEALER FOR A WHILE TILL THEY FIND THE PROBLEM BUT THE ONLY THING IS THAT IT'S MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION. THE SHIFTER LOCKS ON ME WHILE I'M HOLDING THE BRAKE DOWN, I HAVE TO USE THE MANUAL BUTTON TO UNLOCK IT. I NOTICE THAT WHEN IT DOESN'T WANT TO START AND I MANUALLY SHIFT THE GEAR TO NEUTRAL THE CAR STARTS. THE DEALER WANTS ME TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND I ASK MY SELF HOW??? IT DOESN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME. I HAVE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND I CALLED THEM BUT BY THAT TIME THEY GET TO ME I GOT THE CAR TO START. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HYUNDAI ELANTRA TOURING. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH THROUGH AN INTERSECTION, A VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED A CEREBRAL HEMORRHAGE, A CRACKED RIB AND SUFFERED SEVERAL HEADACHES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE AIR BAG FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,800. .... PERIODICALLY MY CAR WILL NOT START OR TURN OVER TO START. THE NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR PARTS ARE YOUNG AND A COUPLE FORUMS I HAVE FOUND ON THE INTERNET SHOW THAT OTHER PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR MODEL YEARS AND THE SAME YEAR ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. IT WAS REPORTED IT MIGHT BE THE RANGE SWITCH OR THE SHIFT INTERLOCK. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONCERN. ALMOST EVERY TIME I HAVE STARTED THE VEHICLE AND PLACED IN DRIVE FROM REVERSING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE JOLTS AND SEEMS THAT TRANSMISSION IS LAGGING OR CHANGING GEARS ABRUPTLY. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AND I HAD MADE AN APPOINTMENT. WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR INSPECTION, THE DEALER SAID THEY COULD NOT RECREATE WHAT I WAS TALKING DESCRIBING. IN ADDITION, WHEN I DRIVE THE POWER STEERING HAS HAD SOME ISSUES. IT HAS NEVER DROVE IN A STRAIGHT LINE AFTER TWO ALIGNMENTS. AND IT CAN BE TOUGH TO TURN THE WHEEL. WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALER ABOUT HOW I HEAR A CLUNKING SOUND WHEN DRIVING OVER BUMPS, HE TEST DROVE IT AND WAS CONFIRMED THAT HE AGREES THAT THERE IS CLUNKING NOISE, BUT SAID HE CANT PINPOINT IT AND IT WILL HAVE TO GET WORSE BEFORE HE COULD TELL. *TR
I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW FROM A HYUNDAI DEALER IN MARCH 2012 PROBLEM 1. SINCE EARLY ON, THE CAR ALWAYS EXHIBITED A SERIOUS INSTABILITY IN THE REAR END. SPECIFICALLY SPEAKING, WHEN DRIVING ON ANY SMALL BUMP FOUND ON ANY NORMAL ROAD, THE CAR REAR SUSPENSION WILL NOT ABSORBE THE BUMP LIKE ANY NORMAL CAR WOULD BUT INSTEAD SEVERELY JUMPS AND THEN 'DARTS OR SHIFTS' LATERALLY. EVEN IN DRY PAVEMENT. HAVING LIVED IN THE NE AND ILLINOIS NOW, I AM A VERY EXPERIENCED DRIVING IN SNOWY CONDITIONS. DRIVING THIS CAR IN EVEN 1/2" OF SNOW IS DOWNRIGHT TERRIFYING. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REAR END CONTROL AND TOTAL INSTABILITY NO MATTER HOW CAREFUL YOU DRIVE. I HAVE FOUND MYSELF NOT KNOWING IF I WAS GOING TO MAKE HOME WITHOUT GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT. THE PAST TWO WINTERS I HAD TO USE OTHER VEHICLE EVEN IF THE WEATHER FORECAST CALL FOR SNOWN FLURRIES. I HAVE NEVER DRIVEN A CAR SO UNSTABLE IN MY 45 YEARS OF DRIVING. BY THE WAY, LOADING UP THE CAR WITH PASSENGERS OR ADDITIONAL WEIGHT HAS ZERO IMPACT REDUCING THE SEVERITY OF THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM 2 THE REAR TIRES WEAR OUT VERY FAST. EVEN THOUGH I ROTATE THEM EVEN 5K MILES, THEY WEAR SO BADLY THAT THEY PRODUCE A LOUD ROAD NOISE FROM UNEVEN WEAR. I AM ON MY THIRD SET OF TIRES AND THESE NEED REPLACEMENT NOW. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO TO HYUNDAI, THEY CHECKED ALIGNMENT AND SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG AND THE PROBLEM MUST BE THE TIRES. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I LEARNED THESE CARS HAVE A SOLID , NON-ADJUSTABLE REAR END WITH A FIXED TOE-IN AND CAMBER. I AM CERTAIN THAT BOTH PROBLEMS I LISTED ARE CAUSED BY HYUNDAI'S REAR END DESIGN. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM AND HYUNDAI REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT. IT IS A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE ACCIDENTS WITH LOSS OF LIFE WILL OCCUR. WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO THIS COMING WINTER? .A NEIGHBOR WITH A 2013 ELANTRA COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME INSTABILITY.
I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE INSTANCES WHERE MY CAR HAS TROUBLE STARTING, OR WILL NOT START AT ALL. BEGINNING IN 2012, WHEN THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER (TUSTIN HYUNDAI - PATTERSON'S) AS IT WOULDN'T START. THE DEALER HAD THE CAR FOR ROUGHLY THREE WEEKS STRAIGHT, AND COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM, SO THEY DECIDED TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP SYSTEM. THEN AGAIN IN FEBRUARY 2013, MY CAR STILL HAD ISSUES STARTING PROPERLY, AND THE DEALER AND CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS WERE CONTACTED. ADDITIONALLY, ON OCTOBER 4TH, MY CAR WOULD NOT START ONCE AGAIN, AND FINALLY, AFTER THREE TIMES, IT STARTED. IT IS CURRENTLY AT GLENDALE HYUNDAI FOR THE SAME ISSUE. I PURCHASED THIS CAR BRAND NEW IN 2012, AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE. FROM THE ISSUES WITH STARTING, TO MY WINDOWS NOT ROLLING UP. THE START ISSUE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM AND SAFETY MALFUNCTION. AS A YOUNG WOMAN, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR ALONE AT NIGHT OR LONG DISTANCES AS I CANNOT COUNT ON IT BEING RELIABLE. HYUNDAI NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL, AS A SIMPLE GOOGLE SEARCH BRINGS UP MULTIPLE OTHERS WHO HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES, ONLY TO BE TOLD THERE IS NOT A RESOLUTION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER'S TIRE SPLIT AND THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE BLEW ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE TIRE SENSOR WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000. *TR
ON OCTOBER 19,2012, I WAS DRIVING ON 94 E IN MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN AND GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT INVOLVING FOUR VEHICLES. THE TRAFFIC WAS GOING AT A STEADY PACE AROUND 60 MPH. THE NEXT THING I SAW WAS BRAKE LIGHTS AND THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HIM. I KNEW I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO STOP IN TIME AND HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND I ALSO WAS HIT FROM BEHIND. I WAS THE 3RD OF 4 VEHICLES SO MY CAR WAS DAMAGED IN THE FRONT AND THE BACK. THE DAMAGE WAS ESTIMATED AT AROUND $13,000. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I WENT TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM UPON THE NIGHT OF THE ACCIDENT WITH BACK, NECK, ARM, AND CHEST PAIN. FORTUNATELY, I DID NOT HAVE ANY BROKEN BONES OR SERIOUS INJURIES. I STILL HAVE SOME ACHES AND PAINS BUT AM VERY BLESSED TO BE UNINJURED. ALTHOUGH I WAS FORTUNATE TO BE PHYSICALLY HEALTHY, I FELT IT WAS NECESSARY TO REPORT THIS INCIDENT. I AM A 24 YEAR OLD ACTIVE/HEALTHY ADULT. IF IT WERE AN INACTIVE ADULT, AN ELDERLY PERSON, OR IF A CHILD WERE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE OUTCOME WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AS FORTUNATE. I NEEDED TO REPORT THIS INCIDENT FOR OTHERS WHO HAD PURCHASED THE 2012 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. I KNOW PREVIOUS REPORTS HAVE BEEN MADE REGARDING THIS MAKE/MODEL AND THE AIRBAGS AND I FELT LIKE IT IS MY DUTY TO REPORT MY SITUATION. *TR
All of these issues occur in any weather or if the car is warmed up or not. They don’t occur all the time but about half the time. -From a standing stop (like when entering an intersection or turning on to a road) lightly pressing on gas pedal will get car moving then in 2-3 seconds it will stall out for 2 or 3 seconds, almost to the point of the engine stopping. At that point, moderately pressing on the gas again will cause the car to accelerate suddenly & forcefully. It is terrifying when a car is coming at you & you don’t know if it’s going to start accelerating or just die. -Driving and maneuvering in a parking lot is quite a risky adventure. At these slow speeds the car will randomly stall, lurch, hesitate & accelerate suddenly & forcefully with just a light touch on the gas pedal. Not the best performance when trying to park or maneuver around closely packed cars. -I have taken the car to the dealership at least 5 times to remedy this problem & they either said this behavior was not detectable or it was operating as designed. I have documentation consisting of service invoices. They obviously weren’t being truthful, considering the Recall & Class Action Lawsuit that has subsequently been issued dealing with this issue, revealing that HYUNDAI knew about this problem. Can I finally get my car to operate properly & SAFELY? HYUNDAI has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in in your vehicle. Please do not delay in contacting us. Your HYUNDAI dealer will fix the recall at no cost to you. THE VEHICLE HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS DESCRIBED IN THE 2011 RECALL WITH THE BRAKE SWITCH. MY CRUISE CONTROL SOMETIMES DOES NOT WORK AND 3 TIMES HAS CUT OFF ON ITS OWN. IT WILL NOT CUT BACK ON TILL VEHICLE IS PULLED OVER AND STOPPED. I WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE REPRODUCED BUT ITS HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY AND IM NOT SATISFIED WITH EITHER COCOA BEACH OR MELBOURNE DEALER. I HAVE A RECURRING CLUTCH PEDAL ISSUE AS WELL AND DO NOT TRUST THEIR TECHNICIANS ANY LONGER. I WILL JUST DRIVE THE CAR TILL IT LEAVES ME STRANDED OR IN A WRECK. WESTLAND HYUNDAI HOWEVER HAS NEVER HAD A REPEAT REPAIR. IM NOT SURE WHY THEIR TECHS ARE SO MUCH MORE RELIABLE. WISH I STILL LIVED IN UTAH TO HAVE MY ISSUES RESOLVED. *TR
2012 HYUNDAI ELANTRA LIMITED. THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT APPEARED RANDOMLY AT FIRST THEN REMAINED ON CONSTANTLY. OVER TIME, FUNCTIONALITY OF ALL STEERING WHEEL MOUNTED CONTROLS FOR CRUISE CONTROL, TRIP COMPUTER, BLUETOOTH, AUDIO SYSTEM, AND HORN WERE LOST. I DISASSEMBLED THE STEERING COLUMN TO ACCESS AND REMOVE THE AIR BAG CLOCKSPRING. I TESTED THE CONNECTIONS FOR CONTINUITY WITH A HANDHELD METER AND FOUND NONE ON ANY TERMINAL. THE CLOCK SPRING FAILED.
SEVERAL TIMES A DAY WHEN GOING TO CRANK THE CAR IT WOULD CRANK. ALSO YOU COULD NOT SHIFT THE CAR FROM PARK TO DRIVE. (THROTTLE PLATE STUCK). *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO PEEL AT APPROXIMATELY 5,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. AFTER DIAGNOSIS, THEY ADVISED HIM THAT IT WAS DUE TO HIM WEARING CERTAIN LOTIONS, ETC. THE VEHICLE WAS REPLACED WITH A NEW STEERING WHEEL. THE FAILURE RECURRED ANOTHER 5,000 MILES LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND PICTURES WERE TAKEN SO THAT IT WOULD BE SENT TO THE HEADQUARTERS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED CAUSING ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS TO ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE COMPUTER'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND A CLAIM WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,010 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
WHEN I ACCELERATE AND EVERY TIME THE GEAR CHANGES, THE CAR WOULD JOLT AS IF I WENT OVER A SPEED BUMP. IT'S REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE WHEN THE CAR JOLTS WHILE I ACCELERATE, BUT THE REAL PROBLEM IS WHEN I'M APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE CAR WOULD JOLT AND THE SPEED WOULD INCREASE WHICH NEARLY CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. I CURRENTLY HAVE ABOUT 13,000 MILES AND PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ABOUT 1.5 YEARS AGO. WITHIN THAT TIME, THE IGNITION WOULDN'T START. I WOULD IGNITE THE CAR AND THE CAR WOULD EVENTUALLY DIE ON ME. PEOPLE SAID IT MIGHT BE THE SPARK PLUGS, TRANSMISSION OR EVEN THE BATTERY. HOWEVER, IT DIDN'T MAKE SENSE BECAUSE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED ONLY A COUPLE OF MONTHS BEFORE THAT INCIDENT. I NEVER EVEN WASTED MY BATTERY IN ANY WAY EITHER. WHAT IF THE CAR DECIDES TO TURN OFF WHILE I'M ON THE FREEWAY? I CAN'T AFFORD THAT TO HAPPEN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE CONTACT CRASHED THE VEHICLE INTO A POLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED KNEE AND CHEST INJURIES, BUT MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT REQUIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V871000 (ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.
2012 ELANTRA WAS STRUCK IN CENTER OF HOOD BY JEEP SUV AT APPROXIMATELY 45* ANGLE. JEEP WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. ELANTRA WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH. CAR LURCHED, ENGINE SHUT OFF. CAR BECAME UNCONTROLLABLE AND ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH LIT UP. EVENTUALLY MANAGED TO GET TO SIDE OF ROAD WHERE THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED INTO PLACE. THE FIRST OF SEVERAL SIDEWALL BULGES APPEARED ON THE TIRES. TIRES (KUMHO SOLUS 215/45R17) FAIL FREQUENTLY WITH UNEVEN SIDEWALL WEAR AND BLOWOUTS. EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR ON TIRES THAT SHOULD EASILY LAST 50K MILES. OVERALL CABIN NOISE IS RIDICULOUS. IN JUNE 2012 A TRUCK MAKING A LEFT TURN INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC IS T-BONED BY ME IN A 2012 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. THE TRUCK WAS HIT SO HARD IT ROCKED OVER ONTO ITS DRIVER SIDE WHEELS BEFORE COMING TO REST ON ALL FOUR. I LEARNED LATER THE IMPACT BROKE THE REAR AXLE. THAT SAID, MY FRONT AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE CUT OF COMPLETELY. ELECTRICAL, ENGINE, POWER STEERING, WINDOWS, EVERYTHING WAS COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE AND SHUTDOWN. I WAS FORCED TO MANUALLY FORCE THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AWAY FROM TRAFFIC/INTO SAFETY. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN 2 WEEKS! MY CAR BEGAN PULLING STRONGLY TO THE LEFT AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND ARRANGED TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT. OUR DEALERSHIP FIRST SUGGESTED A ROADFORCE BALANCE AND WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND WANTED TO CHARGE US $250. SINCE THE CAR HAD RECENTLY BEEN TO THEM FOR SERVICE INCLUDING TIRE BALANCING AND ROTATION, I PUSHED BACK AND REFUSED THIS SUGGESTED REMEDY. I HAD READ ONLINE HOW PEOPLE WERE EXPERIENCING THIS "PULLING" PROBLEM. IT DOES MAKE YOUR ARMS TIRED FIGHTING TO STAY ON THE ROAD. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP MANAGEMENT AND INFORMED THEM OF THE IDENTICAL COMPLAINTS I WAS FINDING ONLINE. TO THE MANAGER AND OUR SALESMAN'S CREDIT, THEY MADE THE SERVICE DEPT LOOK HARDER. A THOROUGH INSPECTION FOUND THAT THE STEERING "TOE" WAS NOT CALIBRATED PROPERLY. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT ZERO (0), BUT INSTEAD WAS AT +1. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT RESET THE TOE BACK TO ZERO. THIS CAR HAS LARGE BLIND SPOTS CAUSED BY BOTH THE LEFT AND RIGHT FRONT PILLARS. THE POSITIONING OF THE REAR VIEW MIRROR ONLY MAKES THE RIGHT BLIND SPOT LARGER AS THERE IS ONLY THE SPACE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE MIRROR TO THE RIGHT PILLAR TO VIEW OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. I BELIEVE THAT DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT ARE A GREAT SAFETY FEATURE. THE LIST OF STANDARD EQUIPMENT ON THE WINDOW STICKER SHOWS "DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS" (DRL). I HAVE FOUND THAT THE ONLY WAY TO HAVE THE DRL ON IS TO TURN ON THE PARKING LIGHTS. THE PARKING LIGHTS, LIGHT THE PARKING LIGHTS AND THE TAIL LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP AND A NEW TIRE WAS INSTALLED. BOTH THE DEALER AND VEHICLE MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A ROAD HAZARD. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 900.
